  • Because killers will cry if they don't get their last kill by tunneling that person off hook. Just wait, they'll cry for BT to get the same treatment, and I won't be surprised when the devs just agree.

Killers definitely needed some of these buffs. But some of these nerfs we're just really bad pandering to killers.

  • You get 5 whole seconds of BT! What more do you want? Oh and btw we nerfed the current bandaid to stop tunneling I'm decisive strike. Because we decided if you have 5 whole seconds off hook you can avoid being tunneled. Trust us we TOTALLY play this game at a high level

Yeah, 78 years is a long time. I'm not sure why they only take me 90 seconds. My game must be glitched.

90 seconds if the killer doesn't have thana, pain resonance, and dying light and then tunnels one person out of the game instantly. All 3 hooks on a scourge hook.

  • Just remember according to the killer mains on this forum: you only get to care about winning if you play killer. If you play survivor you should only care about "having fun" If they don't 4k every game the people holding their family hostage will not let them go.

  • Survivors don't want to play against stacked slowdown killers who just tunnel the first survivors out of the match. It's not fun. It's frustrating. Too many matches where you only get 1 or 2 gens done. Games just should not be ending with that few gens done.

  • It's hard, but you should use the addon that faces you toward survivors

  • Oh look, another poster with a history of killer sided posts saying solo queue is fine. Color me surprised! But he has survivor in his name! Surely that means he's not biased. Nope!

  • Wait you're telling me people don't want to spend the whole game mending and taking two minutes to do a gen?

    Shockedpikachuface

No reason to stay in a 20 minute game for a measely 20k bp.

  • The new meta is basically

Borrowed Time to make tunneling that first person out of the game take longer

Prove thyself to buff gen speeds

Overcome or Sprint Burst depending on how good you are with 99ing Sprint burst.

  • Yeah, cause other people aren't running 3+ slowdown perks or anything.

  • Don't worry! You have 5 seconds of basekit BT to counter camping! The game is saved!

    Sincerely, the devs.

  • Yeah! Survivors should only get one hook state, it should take 5 minutes to do one generator and No Mither should be base kit minus being able to pick yourself up and minus the quieter grunts of pain. Oh and no perks. They're just crutches. Killers should get 10 perk slots instead. and they should move 20% faster too, and have basekit ebony mori. No items for survivors either. Too op!

Apparently this is the game some people want. Surprised it hasn't been made yet.

  • Not respecting the killer is still the best strategy for survivors maybe moreso with all that slowdown. Trade a gen for a health state or even a hook state ten times out of ten. That's how I get beat now, and pretty much the only ones who do beat me.

  • Good I hope they nerf it the the ground.

  • @verysleepy said:

Sorry I'm sure you'll find a perk to replace dead hard and decisive eventually.

For now just keep relying on your last crutch windows of opportunity til that's nerfed ;)

    Cry more.

Tell me you don't know how to run tiles without telling me you don't know how to run tiles

  • My survivor experience today:

Facecamped with insidious by a bubba. Had three gens done by then at least because I ran him as long as I could. I did escape, but my teammates weren't as lucky. Easy 3k for bubba just by standing at the hook. Totally fine and engaging when I had the only real chase.

Then a triple slowdown Spirit who wasn't very good. But gens took forever with thana, pain resonance and overcharge plus surveillance. I completed 3 gens, probably did enough for 7 gens. And she never caught me. But I could not get the exit gate open and the match lasted like half an hour with only 4 gens done. I got full iri emblems. Two teammates spent a lot of time in chase, but the other teammate got tunneled out at 3 gens left and we just couldn't do anything. More engaging, but the slowdown was depressing. She caught me at the exit gate after closing the hatch and spent the egc still unable to catch me. It was really miserable with that much slowdown. .

My killer matches went better, even though I played a killer I don't normally play for an archive: blight. Even on eyrie of crows I was able to keep the match in hand easily.

I can't play killer in the day bc wait times are too long. But I'm pretty much giving up on survivor until they are least bring back the bp bonus. Cause 24k for a 30 min match kinda sucks.

  • Double bp until it's fixed would be nice. I mean they did just take BBQ and WGLF from us. Now bp earnings feel stagnant without the bonus. Or maybe a daily login bonus of 100k until it's fixed at least. 50k they gave us covers like... 2 matches. Maybe 3

  • I love the dredge cosmetic, but I really want Kate's set b. Why is this a vote? Why not just release them all? Let the vote be for the free cosmetics and let people buy the ones they want.

  • I like set b way better. Especially Trickster and Kate. And Adam getting a cosmetic would be icing on the cake. But if course a is winning. Boo! Let us pick out faves individually rather than as sets.

Well, as it was said, Gen slowdown perks have been heavily nerfed and Survivors still have the possibility to bring perks and toolboxes to boost their repairing speed. This makes up for the additional 10 seconds. Only SoloQ survivors are affected by this.

Lol gen slowdown perks heavily nerfed? Really? Combine pop with call of brine and overcharge, and generators regress at an outrageous speed. Only ruin got nerfed hard. But it's unnecessary with everything else killers have and can combine.

  • Dredge feels fun to play. So yeah I still play him. Wish it took like half a second longer to lock lockers. But aside from that I think he's good.

I love people who make assumptions about how i play. Its like in order to get downs u dont have to chase survivors, the game provides them for u. Its funny when your only argument is calling others bad in this game. If u wanna throw games for bad chases u do u. I dont enjoy throwing games because i wanna kill 1 specific survivor and lose the other 3 and that makes my playstyle vastly different from yours. If u think taking every chase no matter what makes u a good and fair killer then u are not a good killer in the first place. Have fun with tbags and end game chat ig

Oh no! Not the crouch spam! Anything but the crouch spam! My feelings get hurt when survivors press a button in a video game!

  • This guy has such a negative attitude. He makes a lot of mistakes, then wonders why generators are going so fast. Gee wonder if it might be because you aren't around them. He's good at the micro gameplay, but isn't so good with the macrogameplay. He doesn't keep track of where he's been, instead just kind of blindly patrolling areas he should know have no survivors. With the yellow bottle he goes right back to the area where he just chased Meg. Which had a gen with no progress. That's a huge timesink. With one survivor on hook, he does nothing with the other three. He could have had two survivors off gens by getting into chase with someone else, instead wastes so much of his own time he let the gens get done tbh. Nobody to blame but himself. This is not a game issue, it's a player issue.

  • Don't know why they can't detect cheating in game. I guess it mostly comes down to not being able to tell who is doing the cheating as others can cheat for you. Wish cheaters would just be put in their own lobby and face other cheaters. Otherwise they'll just get a new account.

If that happened, I could see Killer mains saying that the same has to be true for Survivors. If Survivors click their flashlights, body block a hook, or teabag, then they should also lose points.

Who mentioned bloodpoint this has nothing to do with bloodpoints. Killers need to be rewarded for leaving the hook in gameplay not with points. Campers don't care about bp.

I beg to differ. Tunnelling and camping ate the only win conditions killers have. Ive never seen a genuine killer main saying tunnelling and camping are unfun. Its only survivors that want free escapes and unlimited bullying of the killer. I frankly enjoy proxy camping as machinegun Huntress and hitting nasty shots. Dont really care if its unfun to my opposition lol cause im having a blast

Congrats I guess on enjoying doing nothing most of the game. I know plenty of killer mains who enjoy the chase. The chase is the only fun thing about the game. I'd rather throw the game for a good chase than to sit at a hook and stare. If I wanted to watch paint dry, I'd go do that instead.

  • Only way to fix camping and tunneling is to make taking one player out of the equation too early detrimental to the killer, while rewarding them for spreading hooks around. At the same time survivors cannot be rewarded for leaving a player to die. How you do that is far more complicated.

  • DS should stun different killers a different amou.t of time tbh. A 3 second stun against trappper, pig, or onryo? Fine. A 3 second stun against huntress? Useless. A 3 second stun against Nurse? Did it even happen?

Devs say they want to reduce camping and tunneling because they aren't fun strategies (honestly, for either side) but then buff the strategies and barely give survivors anything to combat it. Oh look, a 5 seconds BT. Killers wait out the current BT. Lol. And now killers don't have to worry about DS.

The change would be fine if they actually did enough to combat camping and tunneling. But they did not. They pretty much just made another must run metaperk as a bandaid and called it a day.

  • Yep, Clown is one of the most boring killers. His chase power is dumb. He's poorly designed all around. For some reason people always think boring = op. It does not. Blight is a strong killer, and aside from some addons, he's very fun to face. Spirit is the same way. Huntress is not weak, and is also fun to face. They have well designed powers to their kit that make them a challenge but also fun.

His power is not interactive. He's definitely C tier at best, but that does not make him fun. Escaping a clown is kind of like escaping a facecamping bubba. Yeah, you won, but did you really enjoy the match?

They should trade off some of his chase power for some map pressure, which he has none. It'd make him a better killer, but also more fun.

  • 3 x 97 = 291

    So 5 prestige levels

  • Least: Nurse, Artist, Pinhead, Trickster, Clown

Favorite: Huntress, Myers, Oni, Blight (if they aren't running ruin, undying, Tinkerer and alchemist ring and compound 33 anyway), Legion

  • Survivor bloodpoint earnings. They aren't enough by any means, and people act like it's okay. Like there are actions that should give bp (or more bp).

Also emblems on both sides. If a killer is afk survivors should get iri chaser emblem. Now that matchmaking is mmr and not rank, there's no reason not to do it. Same for certain killers like plague who have a harder time earning emblem points than other killers. Killer emblems need addressing too.

  • Somehow the devs felt Billy needed an overheat mechanic, but Nurse with instadown perks and range addons is fine. She's just one of their favorite children along with Blight and Spirit

Her range addons are busted. Her synergy with instadown perks is outrageous. I think having such a powerful basekit ability is a fair tradeoff for not having instadown perks work. I'd make those changes, then see where she's at. Anytime I play against a nurse with instadown, I just want to give up immediately because, if the nurse knows what they are doing, there's no chance of winning.

Nurse is like old Object of Obsession. Stats may say otherwise, but they aren't fun to go against in their current state

  • Killers: I hope survivors use different loadouts. It's appreciated.

Their loadout: Blight, Alchemist Ring, Compound 33, Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Bbq

People tend to use what works. Maybe if more perks and addons we're viable, people would use different loadouts

  • How dare people use a perk in the game.

  • "How dare newer players have it easier than me! It's not fair!!"

Newer players have to catch up more than you did. You started with a lot less catching up to do. If you came at the end of 2017 you had 10 killers and 11 survivors to level up that's tripled now.

You're one of those people who see the trolley problem and say "keep running people over, it's not fair to the people already ran over" aren't you?

  • N/m I see the problem now. You set it at greater than 120 not greater than equal to.

  • @Ramanga said:

The recent developer update pointed out

Finally, we’ve made a tweak to our catch-up mechanic, which awards you bonus prestige levels based on your progress prior to this overhaul going live. This is based on the number of perk tiers you’ve unlocked on a character as well as their prestige.

In the PTB, we awarded one bonus prestige level for each prestige your characters had prior to the PTB. For the full Mid-Chapter release, we have increased this to 2 bonus prestige levels. This means if your character was prestige 3 before the update, they are guaranteed to be prestige 9 after the update, granting all the new rewards immediately. The catch-up mechanic will be limited to prestige 9, however, even if the calculated bonus would exceed this.

We had previously been given the following information about the transition policy for players who chose to accumulate perks in order to play the game rather than to prestige.

If the character has 70 or more Perks unlocked (Counting each tier of a perk separately):

    1 level for 70-119 Perks

    2 levels for 120-169 Perks

    3 levels for 170-219 Perks

    4 levels for 220-269 Perks

    5 levels for 270-319 Perks

    6 levels for 320+ Perks

The above information does not appear to have been updated since the change to the number of prestige levels awarded based on current prestige levels.

These two systems will now result in potentially significantly different outcomes. As a result, several youtube personalities have pointed out that since prestiging currently costs nothing (except lost addons/offerings), you should do the math to see which system will advance you further.

You can already read in this very forum dozens of threads with people giving the advice that if they have a character at level 50, and they have fewer than 70 "perk points" (a challenge to explain to your casual friends), that the best course of action is to press the prestige button.

This is a huge problem, because a significant portion of your players do not regularly follow the forums, watch youtube videos, and/or put together excel spreadsheets with their game data in order to figure out whether or not pressing a button is going to screw them over in a week's time.

If there is an updated version of the conversion table for perks vs prestige levels, make the players aware of it as soon as possible.

Another easy solution would be, for the purposes of the transition, to treat each level 50 as if it was equal to a prestige level and then awarding the higher of the two prestige level results. (Cue the typical crab mentality of your average internet poster).

If you do not clarify and forewarn users of the need to analyze their situation in the next week (or two), be prepared for a flood of complaints from users angry that they lost out because they weren't informed, didn't have enough time, the required mathematical analysis was too complicated, etc.

This spreadsheet is neat. But a few questions:

    1. I have 120 perk tiers on Claudette. Why does it say she would be prestige 1? Shouldn't it be prestige 2?

    2. Why does is say none for Claudette with 120 perk tiers, but "spend bp" for Dwight with 121?

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/334142/new-progression-system-with-stranger-things-content

They don't have perks associated with them. So it does nothing. The perks they used to have are now global perks

They are, but it should still unlock them for those who put effort into them imo. Not like it would really cost BHVR anything. If you don't own them, then you'd have to get the globally. But if you own the you should be able to unlock their perks through prestige.

  • You faced a beginner nurse congrats I guess

  • They should at least increase bp gains across the board for survivors tbh. Just increase them all by like 30 percent.

So a good skill check would be 75 pts and a great would be 390

  • Surprised they didn't at least touch thanataphobia

  • @SekiSeki said:

Uhh, maybe I am reading y'all wrong but my understanding is if someone has a P1 character, they will automatically reach P2 when the update drops. Of course, that does not factor in the perk tiers.

What I am doing, getting all killers to 121 in perk tiers with no prestige. That should land me on P2 lvl 50 when patch is live so I just prestige to P3 then.

No, the dev update said you get 2 prestige levels per current prestige.

    So P3 becomes p9..so p1 becomes P3.

  • It's perfectly doable... Yeah, sure. Maybe in make believe land. I nearly had this challenge the other day all 4 survivors downed in shack. Basement right there. Easy peasey right? Was I denied by an unbreakable? Nope. Someone disconnected. That's what happens when you play for basement. Someone inevitably rage quits denying you the challenge.

    It's a stupid challenge.

  • Depends on the distance from the gate to the hook. Last thing you want is to get downed after opening the gate. If BT will get them out, you should open the gate 100 percent. or if you're worried about noed

  • Not sure why it was a lottery, but it was. Only ten people get it. Cause you know, not like they could just give people bloodpoints whenever they want or anything...

  • Dissolution gets a notification because it has a duration unlike spirit fury. Spirit fury is immediate and then it's over. Dissolution would be difficult for survivors to gauge without notification.

  • I mean at that point why even have a leave match button? And is it fair for a killer who is being held hostage to be forced to stay in the game or face a hefty penalty? Or a survivor held hostage (bodyblock by the killer as the last one left, hatch unclosed)

  • Go after the one guy doing gens?

That is just not true. Theres a button trigger for it. A crash doesnt cross that check. If theres not a built in check for it yet. Its not hard to program in. They have one for are you sure about that? They can have one with a strict timeout.

Then people will just unplug their router. Or alt F4. Or turn off their console
