So clicking a flashlight that does literally nothing to the killer if they look away and allows the killer to continue to perform every action in the game is more toxic than the killer camping which literally prevents the survivor from partaking in any game action at all? Try again.
Exactly. Besides the fact that using flashlights is part of the game to counter killers along with pallets.

And it just means you are worse if you lost to it.
Depends, random que it means the reliability of your team mates can be questionable so that doesn't make it your fault in general. But the fact that the killer has to do this means they're probably really bad.
-
@Crowman said:
If a killer gets a 4K from camping, that means the survivors fed into the camping killer and gave him the 4K.
It still means he's a bad a killer. If they have to camp to get a 4k from an unorganised lower level survivor group then they must be really bad at this game.
-
It can be good for avoiding sweaty groups having their entire team run out in front of you the moment you get someone.

If you flipped this post to "survivors also have toxic survivors to blame for camping killers", there would be an uproar. Perpetuating this kind of mindset will just continue to breed bad blood on both sides.
Like do ya'll really get hard tunneled out of EVERY single match by some bully killer at 5 gens? I get a hard tunneler/camper about 1 out of 10 matches when I play survivor. Its often a poor strategy that will only net a kill or two.
I find most matches I've done as survivor side they'll either camp or tunnel and this coming from someone who plays both sides though I avoid doing that oh and several killers on these forums argue that facecamping and tunneling is a perfectly fine tactic and not toxic at all many of them are proud of it and think it's fine to do so.

I know gamers don't like reading but geez
Campers and tunnelers never learned to read.
-
Also if you want a real second chance perk just like NOED it literally allows the killer who hasn't stopped the gens to get one hit downs
-
This game rewards killer for playing like trash. Camping and tunneling? Oh yes that's fine according to the game.

What can survivors do that ends the game for the killer? And using things in the game is not being toxic.
Don't you know? Survivors are supposed to stand still and let the killers catch them otherwise it's toxic.

That's exactly what the Shrine does.
Shrine has 4 teachables at the cost of shards. No guarantee you'll see the ones from them in any specific ones and you'd have to wait over who knows how many to collect them all if they all appear in it.
-
It's a good movie but not sure how a killer would work for it. Survivor could work maybe even a map.

All I want in regards to this topic & situation is something to compensate Survivors who get face camped and die on their 1st hook. I don't care how "within the game's rules" it is. You lose items, offerings, add-ons, miss out on any Bloodpoints and most importantly...wasted valuable time
This exactly. It's frustrating to be facecamped and there are so many killer mains who defend camping on these forums and claim it as a valid tactic and not toxic at all when it ruins the entire match for the person being camped. Also if the rest of the team are smart it's not all that productive for the killer as they may get one kill while the rest of the team does gens and gets out.
-
Sometimes it's needed for disconnect. I had all 3 of my team mates disconnect as soon as killer went for them and this was all at the start of match which screwed me over as well.

Did the other survivors try and stop him? Cause if they didn't the killer isn't the only one to blame.
Also thank you. Atleast someone who actually adresses the counter i'm propossing instead of justifying their tunneling or playing victim.
Yes teammates are unreliable that's true. But if that rank 15 is getting tunneled and goes down without a teammate in sight their first thought will also be that the killer isn't playing fair and develop the same mindset of you can't stop tunneling.
If they see the other survivors actually do effort to stop it they will later also try to stop it happening to another survivor
It is still only the killers fault since they chose to tunnel. There's only so much you can do against tunneling. Okay body block one hit. Then what? They can still keep chasing them.

Mate. half the people aren't paying for access to "zanshin tactics" their paying for the oni. same with other perks. like i said the perks for these killers/survivors should be reworked, and the actual perks added to the general pool
ie say zanshin tactics was added to the general pool. another perk would be created exclusively for oni. perhaps retaining the same name, and simply the effect of the perk is changed and added to a general pool perk. either way oni would get a new perk, and the general pool would have more perks for people to learn and play with.
its literally a net bonus. everyone gets a learning perk. oni gets a new perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2440347#Comment_2440347
Literally whoosh. missing the entire point of the post.
the point is to bring perks like these, that give far more utlity to newer players, into the general pool of perks (like fixated is going into, as stranger things license is no longer going to be with dbd) and giving those killers/survivors newer perks.
doesn't matter if their "so op" or "so underpowered" - this is about giving newer players more perks to utelize and gain off the back, whilst also outright replacing the ones going into the general pool.
like, does anyone really think that visionary deserves to be a teachable? its literally just deja vu 2.0, and isn't nearly as good as tapp's dectectives hunch. im saying put visionary in the general pool, and give felix a new perk. dig?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2440313#Comment_2440313
expecially since they can be gained for free by simply waiting out the shrine. except that still hurts newer players... because their perks meant to cover weaknesses that newer players suffer from.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2440336#Comment_2440336
thats what their doing. they have said as much. im saying that they should do this with other "learning perks" or ones that would help newer players, as fixated is an incredibly good newer player perk. it helps teach scratch marks, whilst also having a small passive bonus. things like this and technician should be put in the general pool, and survivors/killers with these perks should have them replaced with different teachables.
Hmm are they? If so maybe they should give rewards like extra blood points or something for people who already worked to unlock them.
-
Body blocking only works for a single hit the killer can keep chasing the survivor or decide to use you as the next to be hooked either way they've gained an advantage from tunneling.
-
I use ruin but my hex for it always seems to spawn in obvious places......like right next to a gen.

I like the voice, the very message, it means nothing other then how it is portrayed, want to giggle like a school mouse then do it and maybe not just moan about it.
Pyramid head is another killer that in his source material the game had sexual things(There was a thing of him doing it to another monster in Silent Hill 2)

But then players would abuse that too. If it’s endurance they’ll body block all day.
The main thing is like one person said. There’s no real definition of tunneling. So the devs need figure out a way to define “Tunneling” within the game, and then build around that definition. Everyone has their own interpretation of tunneling. I think that’s the main issue. I say make this “Anti-Tunnel Perk” like Mettle of Man so that there’s multiple prerequisites. Say if you’re hooked twice within X amount of seconds “Fight or Flight” would then activate until the next chase ended. Then it would deactivate after a chase, and after being fully healed. Since you can only be hooked twice it would only proc during your death hook phase. Players can’t abuse it right away because they’d be putting themselves at death hook just to activate it.
I consider it when the killer runs right back to hook after an unhook usually in hopes of getting an easy second hook.
-
If you're going to make it an anti tunnel perk instead make it so if you're chased by killer within a time of being unhooked you can't be downed until chase ends. That I imagine would put a stop to tunneling.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
There already is a perk to stop tunneling.
It's called Bond and actually helping your teammate with bodyblocks instead of shaking your fist safely away from the killer
That's assuming you can rely on team mates to do this. Solo ques can be a coin toss on how useful your team mates will be.
-
I think they should at the very least put the Stranger Things perks in general pool since you'll soon not be able to buy those characters to level them.

If its solo que yes
Solo ques the reliability of your team mates tends to be a coin toss.

Though to be fair I've had killers get rude cause we escaped. One told us to get the ######### out of his match.
-
From survivor side I only take issue if the killer camps or tunnels.
As a killer I have seen some either get rude to me or their own team mates if they don't make it or sometimes if any of their team die. I've also had survivors blame me for their deaths when I was a survivor on their team like one time at end game the killer was full on facecamping someone and there was no way I'd have gotten him off without risking us both going down. He went off at us end of match said we should have gotten someone to body block and such and I'm like 'How do you expect me to organise all that? This is a random que group not SWF'
-
Your guess is as good as anyone else's. We were never told the reason why so all we can do is speculate.
-
@kaeru said:
Dbd sessions are too short to make you able to reconnect. While you reconnect you waste half of the match. By this time your team may easily lose without you. Because it's much harder and because they lose their motivation to play. If you lose connection as killer, survivors will end a match without pressure. There absolutely no reason for survivors stay in game without killer.
You really need to fix your internet. If you play by wifi you should probably connect via ethernet cable. It usually makes connection more constant.
I've had disconnects which were obvious on DBD server ends especially since it said something about server issues and even then when the game knows it's a server issue it will give you a disconnect penalty.
-
Yeah I don't know why they didn't get her as a new survivor to go along with pinhead.
-
With how bad servers can be they should just remove the penalty honestly people can easily die on hook to get around it anyway
-
Here's a tip you want your poll to be taken seriously don't add biased obvious insults to killers.
-
This poll is clearly biased no option is "Killers should be allowed to play lobbies where they feel the least challenged." cause that's always the reason right?
-
It's not always about challenge people have real lives you know and may have to do something else. I've seen plenty of survivors drop out of lobbies should they get a penalty too?
-
@Rescultir said:
I think they did that on purpose, not sure if they'll fix it but we'll see.
If they did I'd blame the survivor mains who kept wanting a spirit nerf. I'm hoping it's just a bug though.
-
I had a survivor who literally lead me in a chase to where the person was unhooked then accused me of tunneling them after the match it's like why would you lead me to them while chasing that's not tunneling that's your own stupidity.
-
No, not dying on hook is not working with the killer you're the one expecting him to die so you can get out. He could be hoping for a save.
-
It's not always the killers fault I've seen survivors blame their team mates.

No it's not canon to the main series the characters are from and the bios/archives stories stories for these characters are no different from fanfic. Licensed owners allow the devs the creative use but they do not canonize whatever being made.
Non-canon to main series. Canon to this story. Think of it as an alternate universe or whatever of a story it's somewhat more than fan fiction it's part of the Dead by Daylight story.
-
As a survivor I mostly got really terrible baby killers who relied on facecamping or tunneling during this thing. As killer I'd either get sweaty SWF groups or groups that had no idea what they were doing it was a coin toss.
-
I might get some since it's the last chance to get them.
-
The problem does become that any license could be revoked then survivors, killers and maps can just poof. And only people who purchased the dlc before will still be able to play these characters.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I prefer mmr. The arguments against it are absolutely horrible, I care about game quality more than tryhards who do not want to put the effort into trying hard.
My issue with it is I always got the baby killers with it who would face camp or tunnel you constantly. As killer it was a bit of a mix either got sweaty SWF groups or survivors who weren't that great so that was a bit of a coin toss on killer end for me.
-
Well people will still be able to play them just no one will be able to buy it after that date who doesn't already own it.

Exactly, just because they're from another game or whatever originally doesn't make them non-canon.

They're still here there just isn't going to be any future updates on the strange things cast.
It's sad and I hope that future licenses don't end up with the same fate but I'm pretty confident that most will uphold.
Well for people who currently own it. It means future players won't have access to these survivors and killers that licenses are lost on.

That along with being able to slander others anonymously that the interwebs has brought us.

Sadly competitive games tend to be full of toxic behavior.

No company would agree to that, everyone thinks of money and the future of the franchise. Netflix had a reason to pull the license away weather for greed or future ambitions with stranger things.
You'd think it'd make more sense to come to a deal where they keep the stranger things chapter since it's publicity for the series.
