It's the fault of the novice players, if they are destroyed by bots they get angry, bhvr wants to avoid this. In fact the bots have become much weaker to help the killer players.
I've been in DBD since 2017, I'm not complaining. When you learn the dance everything is easier.
I am not attacking novice players I am talking players who intentional grief the game to mess it up.

Most likely, it was meant that the survivors would intentionally kick weak newbies to replace them with bots
Partly yes, there is such a trouble.I think there is a possibility of that as well but someone who intentionally gets mauled and disrupts the game need to be removed from the game.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
No, because bots are stronger than 70% of players and have also been weakened on purpose.
So, you rather have an very easy game for the killer than a actual game for everyone?
-
Stakeout + Corrective Action + Hyperfocus
You miss you get a great
You get a great either naturally or via stake out good you get a corrective action
Team play this becomes gen rushing very fast with no toolboxes needed. -
Lightborn is the counter all to Flashlights, Flashbangs and the Mine trap it covers a good chunk of stun def leaving just Pallet stuns, DS, and Headon. Killers and survivors at higher level play are expected to run certain metas.
-
Here is my answer add the ability to know when your aura is being revealed to this or another perk like example alert. It wont stop the aura reading but make sure the player knows hes being spied upon.
-
Here is my nerf to Distortion drop the leave scratch marks but keep the 3 tokens and ability to regen them.
-
One big thing is for survivors to be able to block spectators. I have had some games where the streamer (currently dead)views the other players and killer is stream sniping them and its very unfair to the other survivors.

I dunno what sort of seal team six swfs you're playing with, but I've never played with people who have perfect, infallible callouts on where they are at all times. Or perfect, infallible callouts on where the killer is or going after hook.
At that point you may as well give constant aura reading on where the killer is at all times. Swf calls it out, right? Aura reading on where generators are. Swf know it, apparently. Basekit Windows. Don't swf call out every pallet they drop and structure and window location?
Realistically speaking, the swfs you're talking about that wouldn't benefit are very rare. A boogieman that lives in killers' heads. This stuff would benefit uncoordinated swfs way more than solo. You can shove information down the throat of the Claudette crouching in the corner all day. Making her act on it is a different thing entirely.
Sorry look at anti face feature and the fact they know where the killer went also bond is nice so there isnt the entire squad going to get one person. Swf groups usually one person goes get the player hooked.
-
Here is my steps
1. Kindred is basekit
2. Bond is basekit
3. Increase the range of bond and kindred if the perk is used with it.Here is the reasonings for it
1. SwF teams already do it already
2. It allows BHVR to be a better reading how good killers are really doing and balance accordingly.
3. Solo won't be as lost and hopeless against killers. -
To be bluntly honest I see No mither in solo Q I stop caring about the game. No Mither turns me off so much to see it in game. It doesnt do enough and the killer will never ever slug you and you have to dedicate your entire build to justify it even being there so a hard no on all fronts.
-
Legion is a solo Q destroyer thats about it.
-
Sorry its balancing if its melee is as strong as Oni why play Oni ?
-
Then fix the survivors different sounds as well. Jeff is easily the worst and loudest noise maker even at healthy compared to injured players.

It definitely does. Killers can't count to ten and wait out the endurance.
Yea… killer know the exact range of the anticamp feature I have a hard time believing timing….
-
OTR doesnt help you if your being tunneled in fact OTR best use is healing and being undetectable the endurance is meh.

Normal. Companies create problems then sell solutions for said problems.
Still makes the game bad and toxic
-
Some of the best updated counters to Slugging/Tunneling are all locked under premium DLC characters
Babysitter- DLC Stranger things
Buckle up- Ash Williams DLC
DS - Another DLC character -
Here is the deal if your playing a SWF team they already have equiv of Kindred and Bond up at all times. Solo Q players need the same footing to not just benefit them but we get a better read on what killers need for updates.
-
The remote hook should have been the longest distance hook away from you penalizing you for using it giving survivors ample time to get to the person.
-
@UndeddJester said:
Kinda feels like an issue that should be led at the feet of the player who quit ahead of the killer tbh…
Don't think you can really call a killer toxic for simply using the fact the bots are easy to distract/catch to ensure they have the time to catch you and win the game...
In this same scenario I'd be cursing the quitter ahead of the killer.
But having a weak AI doesnt make the game better and the player could have legit reasons to why they got kicked.
-
Its not that simple excluding those game than you have to exclude games where the killer gives up as well and play friendly.
-
SWFS I hate the term
How many pro-4 man teams do you face each day? BEST HONEST
This game is designed to be casual friend and solo Q. Designing the game for pro-players would destroy the game and the killer ratio radically jump. Also please dont reply to this with "GET GOOD" I will know exactly what you want and mean by that. -
Then have the function to just turn it off. Clean and simple we already have anonymous mode where peoples gametag is hidden. Every game including this one has toxic players not having a feature which most SWFs groups already have access to limits the game and how well it can truly be balanced.

Proximity Chat would be removed quickly in this game because of the community.
Because the killers would complain and here is my counterpoint. Its optional you choose it and report it if you find people who break the TOS. For the killers aspect this would give a much needed data on how good or bad the killer is doing and correct buffs or nerfs can be used for the game.
-
Okay lets get rid of obnoxious playstyles does that mean getting rid of tunneling and slugging? I am all for this but it has to be all boats not just some.
-
For those people who say we have Kindred problem one Kindred does not see stealth killers.
-
Personally once the hatch is open the deck is already stacked in the Killers favor any minor help would be good

One major change i think needs to happen if they are determined to keep remote hooking is remove the ability for it to put someone in basement. As killer, I don't want to lose the points for a non-event hook, and as survivor, free basement when i'm pretty far away feels very unfair. If they are willing to change it out, make it so the silent mode for survivors removes scratch marks or makes them disappear faster, and make a killer version where they leave the terror radius behind for a bit. Brings a bit more utility to the survivor one, still has good use for killer, but doesn't feel so oppressive.
Yes remote hooks and basements is so cheap and should of been fixed since many time basement hooks are usually bad for anybody rescuing them.
-
Matthew Cote already said you don't need to know what other people are running is a off handed rather cold view on he feels other games need to do. I get the feeling DBD Dev team are rather cold or off to what Solo Q players do or need. The justification of giving perks or info gathering as basekits would give us the real numbers and Killer kill ratio giving the Devs much needed data to boosting killers who are not doing well.
-
My answer to this is very very simple allow Self-recovery at the expense of a hook.
Example 1
You get slugged with 0-1 hooks. You must recover all the way then you get a prompt to use recovery at the expense of a hook stage you get all the benefits of being unhooked. This allows for recovery at the expense of a trigged hook giving the killer what he needs as weel
Example 2
You get slugged with 2 hooks. Game progresses onward till you die, get picked up by killer or healed by another player or perk ability. This would get rid of the 0-1 no hook slug effect while giving the killer a free hook for his/her trouble. -
Yea this mode really punisher survivors doing anything for the event wasting their time while everything the Killer gets is busted and doesnt waste their time. I really wish event BP for survivors was based on doing gen stuff or healing not wasting time doing totems (not cleansing or boon) or Chests which are a utter waste of time as well.
-
I have found Killer to be more fun though many just kill the survivors because the event ecourages regular gameplay while survivor it distracts form gameplay forcing them to not do gens giving the Killer more than enough time to 4k also my opinion Remote hook is a vastly superior ability then stealth.
-
In this event only 1-2 I dont try to bully the killer isnt fun unless the Killer is being Toxic.
-
@Ohyakno said:
I cannot believe people are so tilted about the hook thing. I can go many games without a successful sabo or pallet save. There's no way it's effecting your gameplay that much.
Flashlight saves still work. I spent a whole game letting a "bully squad" save about a dozen times to see if I could get that weird bug where the saver gets hooked as instead. No luck, I think they have to be on last hook or something.
Also like everything you said is wrong. One shot? Perk nerfs? Cooldown reductions? Where do you get this stuff from?
The instant hooking takes precedent over all other effects
-
In the games event wise I have been playing the Killer is the one that keeps ruining the fun. They run the sweatiest tier level perks and addons and proceed to destroy the game because survivors are more focused on Event BP not genrushing and bullying the killer leading to only 1-2 gens done and killer 4K easily. Also since the killer is trying to end the game early all of us are getting low BP including the killer leading to why are we playing 5 event Cobblers in the first place since the Killer wants to have zero fun just be as toxic as possible.
-
I can think of many things that make the game toxic
1. Non-progression late games (hide and seek 0 gen progression)
2. Slugging to death
3. Tunneling and proxy facecamping
4. Bully Squads
ALL of these game mechanics either intended or not make the game not fun for some party in the situation and all deserve some redress in combatting it.
BHVR has a toxic problem created by Killer and survivor bad behavior and to make the game expand need to address each element I mentioned. -

The same could, and should, be said of any player that immediately gives up.
If a player is being tunneled out or proxy facecamped why shouldnt they the game is not fun for them.

Heal and exposed is just a health state and still survivor can be down by a single hit. Pary pallets can be, like I said, countered by simple mind games and perks like enduring. Remote hooks doesn't really have a counter and denies a lot of perks, even DS. Reason why so many killers are tunneling.
There is a reason why most of the time survivor has a 150% BP to event most people rather have fun playing killer. Survivors get trash abilities and cant gen rush to get their BP.
-
Endurance is limited now you know that not many good things give it

I find the game first started out built to be in the killers favour so that he can kill 4 other players in 1 round that are against them unless they manage to be stealthy enough and work at the generators. At some point survivors found the most broken things to avoid dieing and win everytime to a point where both sides had to get stronger over the years in order for survivors to have a chance but still be in killers favour, and now its gotten to a point where if the survivors arent winning or have overpowered stuff they say the game is bad and its in the killers favour as a bad thing, and the killers then see the swf meta sweat teams because they win so much against randoms that they say the survivors are overpowered and they cant catch anybody in time so it goes back into a big circle of madness where the game is never going to be played the way it was originally balanced to begin with. The killer is supposed to be stronger. Its a question of if its too strong to a poont where survivors dont have a chance to win even with skill or not. Ive found blocking a window behind you to be very strong as well as party pallets keeping killers more cautious on alredy used loops. The only thing auto breaking pallets does is nothing different than a knight sending a guard to 1 shot the pallet while still chasing you or enduring a pallet stun is the same as the perk. Even the healed and exposed event makes everyone healed and if he cant hit someone before the timer goes everyone gets to keep their new healthstates efc. It all seems pretty balanced to me and the killer should ave advantage to be able to chase down 4 people that all have extra abilities now
This isnt a swf vs pro-killer reg game the event encourages doing other things making a pro-killer job to easy to begin compounded by the abilities they get.

Looping doesn't accomplish the objective, though. Even if you loop the Killer all day long, it won't mean a thing if gens aren't being done.
You wont also get the invitations or the other stuff done (to get the big BP). Many Killers dont even do the invitations stuff just play to 4K asap.

It's a matchmaking issue, not a balance issue. I probably average about 3 game-saving plays a game, and the gens never get done.
This event makes it so gens are a lower focus
-
Put it this way 0-1K is a killer Loss 2 Kills is a draw acceptable and 3 or more is Killer wins
You shouldnt demand the game to change so you can easily get 4Ks. -
Most killers admit they have to slug to win and what they want is a easy 4K and no chance for the Hatch to spawn. Giving players the ability to give up after reaching full progress heal would be the best option.
-
Lets see it nerfs Background players, any Sabotage, Flashlights, Flashbangs, Boil over and similar perks to near useless items and all their perks related to it. As much I think SWF bully groups abuse many of the mechanics this makes the game serverly killer friendly and it would kill the game.

And what exactly is so wrong about a power in a limited event mode that denies saves or sabotages? I don't see why counterplay to something is an issue. I will admit it's strong, but what's the problem with having a strong power during a limited mode especially when genrushing is the go to tactic for Survivors in these events? I don't get it. Why isn't the Killer allowed to counterplay stuff but Survivor is, outright deleting things like down pressures, hook pressure, even chase pressure against M1s?
Survivors have Quiet Mode which is actually pretty strong, the fragile pallets are back and can create some stupid pallet setups, and you can still block vaults which can waste even more Killer time if you're a decent Looper. Survivors have plenty.
The other two Killer powers aren't overpowered and serve to counter the rest of the pallets like before, as well as help in chase. Would you really rather have the instant Exposed mid chase from last year back? I wouldn't. I would rather a perk that discourages tunneling and camping or leaving someone slugged to bleed out than just free Exposed on demand that can negate any chase pressure you do. Remote Hooking ONLY can activate after you already lost the chase.
I would say both are just as bad. Instant hooks break a lot of Survivors only ways to stay alive. The steath is weak compared to that BS. Worst part Killers are sweating a mode that is fun.
-
If the Killer sweats on a fun mode I will call it out. This is for fun and most of the event is built on it.
-
If your sweating this mode I question your motive to play. Most of the games is survivors having fun doing random stuff not gen or harass the killer related. I will do some gens but most of the time its collecting Invitations and related to the event doing gens and killer related comes 2nd.
-
Blame the Tomes some of the early tomes require you to throw matches ie Hatch requirement
