Poor drone placement: right next to a gen. If you put a drone into a strong loop - like a jungle gym or something like that - at least the survivor have to spend some time going out of their way to break a drone. Now, SM can drop a drone next to a gen, wait for it to be broken, recall it and put it again.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3562836#Comment_3562836
She is still good at 3-genning. If you break her drones, she can comeback and put then again; if you ignore them, she can use her basekit stealth to aproach, eventually making you broken when running away from the drones.
There is a guy in my server doing streaks with her using a 3-gen build, and he already achieved 50 wins. Its not about just not knowing how to counter her, but she has the same "Sadako Rework" problem: with little effort SM can create high amounts of pressure
Its less than a week before her rework, but i still think she needs some changes, or at least a more clearer counterplay.
You will hear her, if she comes near. The drones only have a 10 metres radius, so you definitely hear her approaching. Otherwise she would need to set up her drones in a direct path, which would drastically decrease her chase threat. And you would also know from which direction she would come and could just look in that direction.
The real problem with her 3genning was that survivors were immediately exposed and had to run much, much earlier to not go down and her addons, which synergized quite well with Overcharge and Oppression. Now she needs to get downs on you to defend her gens, which is a significant problem when it comes to 3genning. You can't leave the gens to chase and you can't regress the gens without chasing. So survivors will slowly yet surely pressure their way through.
I'm not sure how someone would get 50+ win streak with her 3genning play style now. Are there any videos of them? It might be I overlooked something and if that is the case I would really like to see that.

Ok, that is interesting. I reported alot of cheaters already and got most of them banned (you can see it if they have a steam account and check a few weeks later after the report), however I NEVER got a notification that a cheater player I reported was banned.
I played alot of multiplayer pvp games and i sadly have to say that Dead by daylight is the first game where there is still literally no automatic cheat protection to this day for about 6 years now.
And the fact that more and more perks have recently come into the game that change the movement or the repair speed does not contribute positively to this either. It feels more and more like a game that offers a home to cheaters.
They only added report feedback quite recently, so it is possible, that in the time since none of the people you reported were banned.
Also DBD does have an anti cheat. They use Easy Anti Cheat and they worked on it when the cheating situation got out of hand. I'm not saying it's perfect but it's definitely not as bad as was before.
That last part is true but I don't consider this a problem with these perks but with the nature of cheating. Subtle cheaters will always be a thing in every online game. The best thing BHVR can do is to keep improving on their safety measures. And so far it seems they do.

"survivors need to build up momentum for 2.5 metres"
Survivors can fast vault windows from a standing position.
BHVR silently reverted the changes they made to fast vaults almost immediately after the patch that changed them. You don't have to run in a straight line, and you don't need to be running for a set time to get a fast vault.
That's not right. There are three different types of vaults (at windows). Survivors cannot get a fast vault from standing still. It will only be a mediums vault. It has worked this way for years. 4 years, if I remember correctly.
Survivors don't need to run 2.5 metres in a straight line it seems but it's very hard to get fast vaults on some windows. If you move the camera correctly and change the direction in a fluid (continuous) motion the momentum carries over. But that is something that sets apart good and mediocre survivors.

I watched this video a while ago and and honestly, the impression i had then is the same as i have now: Besides the turret thing, all he was saying is "hope the killer messes up or falls for your liittle tricks" in a different way. Funny enough, in the video all examples he showed were all misses or missplay by the Xenomorph. He actually could have hit most if not every single time if he would not have played so poorly.
I do understand the frustration and i would also hope they bring less of those type of killers.
That's how most killers feel. Funny, huh?
You should never be guaranteed any safety in chase. Not as long as you didn't do anything to earn that. And sorry but pre dropping a pallet is not what I'd consider earning safety. A chase should be a constant back and forth. Not a brute force your way through and hope that the survivors aren't good at looping until you create dead zones across the map.
Xenomorph and Nemesis are both killers that require you to actually play around their powers. Otherwise you go down pretty fast. And really I do not see anything wrong with that. Especially after the fixed cooldown and the nerf back to the PTB movement speed that Xeno got, you can do a lot against him. One missed tail attack buys you 8 seconds of Shift + W. And Nemesis needs to hit you 3 times and has no mobility.
-
That's neither strictly wrong or right. The problem is that DBD's fast vaults are a bit weird. A survivor needs enough momentum to get a fast vault. The only info I have on how that would usually work is that survivors need to build up momentum for 2.5 metres.
Both Clown and Freddy slow survivors down so significant (15% both), that they don't have enough momentum to get a fast vault. However, there are some other things like movement speed buffs and latency that also have an impact. Also, it seems like you cannot prevent a fast vault after it has already begun (around the time an item would disappear).
This leads to some cases where survivors get fast vaults when they (in theory) shouldn't. I am unsure how fast exactly a survivor needs to be so that they can get a fast vault but I saw survivors get consistent fast vaults while suffering from Wesker's 8% hindered effect and using Hope (7% haste). Meaning, survivors seemingly don't need to be at full speed to be able to get fast vaults. This would also mean that survivors would be able to fast vault before they accelerate back to 100% after being slowed down or shortly after a speed penalty is applied because it works as negative acceleration, I believe.

I agree. There's a difference between when the game is boring or when particular aspects of it are.
I suppose I should have focused my point to the when people focus the argument on the latter of those things. The game at its core should still be fun.
Even then, too many boring things are not good.
I think the game is not in a bad spot when it comes to how fun / boring it is but I must say I wish some things from back when I started playing at the beginning of 2021 would come back because I remember them as more fun.
It might be I am romanticising but I would rather play old Haddonfield again than new Haddonfield and that is not because old Haddonfield was so balanced.

BHVR give up with cheaters long time ago, they don't care much about this issue
EU servers are plagued with cheaters, at least 1 out 3 match has one
That's blatantly wrong. There were multiple instances when I was notified that a player I reported for cheating was banned.
It's impossible to completely remove cheaters from the game because they will always find a way. But it is nowhere near as bad as it was a year ago when cheaters were at an all time high.
It is highly unlikely you play against that many cheaters nowadays. Sometimes the game does a funny and something inexplicable happens but that doesn't mean someone is cheating. It could also be you play against someone who knows something you don't and uses it against you. I was accused of cheating before for curving with Hillbilly.
-
I somewhat agree but keep in mind, this is a game. And for a game there is nothing worse than for it to be boring.
Even if there is something that players absolutely hate, it can still get them to play the game. But when a game becomes boring, then people will stop playing.

If they remove hatch, survivors would give up really quick if the game is not going well. The hatch is a brillant and important thing to keep the game going. Sluging for the 4K might be nonsense to do, but it is better to have that in the game then removing hatch.
@C3Tooth said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3563110#Comment_3563110
More kills may lead to killers nerf (if removing hatch increase the kill rate high enough).
Survivors usually suicide if they think they dont have a chance to escape. At least the hatch keep them play if there is no chance to finish Gen, and try to play for hatch. Without it, anything less than 5 Gens complete means 0% chance to escape, lead to more suicide and increase even more un-earned kill rate.
Further more, if 1 survivor escape requires 5 Gens done, the game has to be balanced around 5 Gens have to be done every - single - match.
Fair points, you two. I must admit that I hadn't considered all of this. Thank you for pointing that out.
However, I have my doubts that dcs or hook suicides would be that much higher. It's already pretty bad. Many survivors will give up very winnable matches just because something doesn't go their way, so I have my doubts, that the people who would quit don't already do that.
With that being said, I can't say I blame killers for slugging for the 4k. You get more points, you pip more easily and it's literally your objective to kill as many survivors as possible. So I think it would be wrong to simply tell killers not to do that. As @radiantHero23 pointed out, they could change the hatch to be based on the outcome of a chase. If a survivor can last long enough without getting hit, they get the hatch and escape. If they get hit, they die.

It would definitely remove the whole slugging for the 4k thing. The only problem I could see would be survivors hiding for all eternity and that could be fixed as well.

Easy solution: Remove hatch.

A killer is played more often than usual and suddenly they are overpowered.
The same would happen with Clown, Freddy, Myers and Trapper.

If there was something equivalent that survivors could do to killers (like obscure their vision) they would be throwing fits and demanding nerfs.
But since it’s the other way around, it’s totally fine as evidenced by all the mental gymnastics on display in this thread.
This community is insufferable.
Are you going to tell me, that it would be fine if survivors had perks or other tools to use a killer's power?
That is a hot take. Dredge was designed with this in mind. Survivors weren't. That is the main difference. Imagine if Oni suddenly had Trapper's power on top of his own for the cost of a perk slot. That would be absolutely ridiculous. Is that because Trapper is so strong? No, but you can't just add random things on random base kits and expect it to work out.
-
I wish we had gotten Xenokitty. 😥
-
I wouldn't go that far. An addon that nerfs me is still worse than an addon that does absolutely nothing.
Pighouse Gloves was never a good addon but now it really is completely useless. It takes forever to overheat on purpose, so even the niche with Hubris, Spirit Fury, Enduring is gone. Too bad honestly. I liked that. It was pretty fun.
-
I don't usually do that. The exception is when I am the second to last survivor remaining and I want my team mate to have a chance at hatch.
I didn't know this could cause harm but I'm not going to risk that again. That has never been my intention and I apologise should I have caused any harm.
Thank you for pointing out that issue.
-
I understand that she is pretty unfun to play against but consider what her power really does and how long it takes her.
She is already Legion with extra steps and nerfing her would not make it any better. She'd still be a slog to play against (probably even more than now) because she would only set up her drones in chase. So you'd pretty much repeat her old Chase Merchant play style with worse results. That doesn't like a good idea to me.
Also, I'm not sure how she would be good at holding 3-gens now. The drones don't detect you while you work on a gen, so you can ignore them for the most part. And before she enters the drone's range you will still hear her TR, so you will know that she's coming. Her addons were also changed, so Overcharge shouldn't be that much of an issue anymore. Basically, if you nerfed her, she'd still be just as strong at holding 3-gens because her power doesn't help out in that situation anyway.

Thats okay with nurse ,she and blight should be on the same level as Merchant now so that they changed her addons doesnt change the fact about ability nerf which is a must
Then we'll have to agree to disagree on that. I think killers should be strong. Just not overpowered like these 2 currently are.
Nerfing them to that extent would be a pretty bad idea in my opinion and it would also lead to an increase in some other killers' pick rates. Which isn't always appreciated by survivors either (understandably but still).

I can't. Because I don't record any of my games. And even if I were interested in doing it for the sake of this discussion, I am currently unable to do that.
But you could watch one of the thousands of Videos on YouTube with survivors playing against Xeno. Or you just watch this: https://youtu.be/e6C3nrU83Ts?si=5VwccuZw3d1Kxp1M
-
Plaything isn't even that strong. It's not like the killer becomes invisible. On most maps you'll see them coming from miles away and on others there are more than enough perks that you could use to prevent them from tunneling you until you or someone else got rid of your Plaything.
Not that most survivors would use any anti-tunnel perks, just saying. Better to just run 4 chase perks and complain when the killer adapts.
-

what I mean is there will play people that will say I love to play against xeno.
You're right. I like playing against Xeno. It's something else. A killer that you always have to watch out for, use the turrets to counter and predict and mind game to delay in chase is pretty fun to face in my opinion.
Xenomorph doesn't ignore any defenses. Nemesis doesn't either. You have to use them effectively to counter both of these killers. Not all killers can be pallet Freddy. Different killers need different counterplay.
You are supposed to hold Xenomorph as a M1 killer, maintain distance, mind game and play around their cooldown. If you do neither of those, then it shouldn't be too surprising that you'll have a rough time against this killer.
-
You wanna know why? The answer is latency and server validation. On their screen they hit you perfectly.
Fixing this would mean that killers with a high ping could not get any hits at all because you are already out of range by the time they hit you on their own screen.
There are only 2 ways that this can go. It either favors the survivor, so that the killer gets frustrated or it favors the killer so that the survivor gets frustrated. There is no solution to this problem because latency will always be a thing.
With that said, I understand your frustration but there really is no helping it.
-
Bait?!
-
This doesn't really come as a surprise. Camping and tunneling are far more effective than going for 12 hooks. It has always been that way and with so little things that would make tunneling and camping risky (nobody runs 'em perks no more) it's also safer than to go for many hooks now.
There are even perks, that disincentivise playing nice. And quite popular perks at that. It will take a lot more than this AFC mechanic to change that. Nevertheless, it's a step in the right direction.
-
Near perfect? That's a stretch. The game is in a good spot, sure. But there are still many issues, that need to be dealt with.
Personally, I realise more and more that as the game becomes more and more balanced it loses some of its charm. I know, I'm a traitor to my own cause but sometimes I wish they would bring the unbalanced things back. Just for a day. Or a different game mode. I would love to play on old Haddonfield again even though I know how terrible it was and I would also like to play Burger King Myers again. I miss the old Coldwinds too. Sometimes I would even like to play with the 2021 meta again. Not for long though.
Play styles have also changed drastically. Survivors used to do a bunch more risky stuff because they had the tools to still come out on top and killers were more wary of DS and Unbreakable and played more ambitious (not sure if that's the right word).
Maybe I'm just romanticising but I would like to go back for just a while and have a laugh at how broken some things were.
-
I sadly couldn't test it yet (and won't be able to for a while) but I think this is pretty impactful overall. 10 traps, haste after setting up a trap and traps spawning closer to gens won't make him the best killer in the game but could go up a few placements on the tier list.
It will definitely make him better than Myers (without Tombstone Piece) and Freddy. Maybe even stronger than Clown? But that is a bit of a stretch.
-

Completely disagree and how isn’t that constructive I said add a brightness setting or adjust the killer operative word being OR killers coming to white night an ability, killers are so strong rn again maybe it’s not so much my colour blindness (tried the filters didn’t do nothing and the heart beat setting I have on) and more my eyesight but I just don’t think it’s fair to play against and it’s all the time everyone is playing him the game isn’t fun against him and I’m just supposed to put up with it no it’s not fair and again need to be looked at why I put this in GENERAL
Then, I'm sorry to say that you are objectively wrong. Dredge's power is supposed to make it troublesome for you to see. There is no room for disagreement on that point. That is what BHVR wanted to achieve and that is what they did achieve.
Now, whether or not it's perfect is a different story. I personally am mostly fine with it, although I sometimes find myself in a situation similar to Freddy's Dreamworld where it gets so dark that it becomes an eye strain but I find it helps to focus on my survivor and the things I do see rather than the things I don't.
Dredge really isn't all that powerful. He is decent but his mobility is not all that insane since you can use the locks to delay him quite a bit and his anti-loop is strong but doesn't work on maps with interconnecting loops. Nightfall is his real strength. He gets a lot faster with his teleport, his cooldowns are reduced, he is undetectable and survivors won't always take optimal pathing because of the darkness, so he gets some easier hits. Removing that would weaken him significantly and probably make him a joke for good survivors.
-
I mean, yeah but that isn't exactly a high bar, is it?
She isn't objectively unhealthy anymore but I still think her power is rather uninteresting personally. You force the survivor into lose-lose situations to achieve somewhat similar results to Legion. Or you set up a drone and brute force your way through the loop. As long as there are more people who like her now, I am fine with it.

That's kind of the point. You are supposed to have trouble seeing anything further than X metres away (can't remember the exact number). However, from close up you should be able to see what is around you.
If that is not the case, then that really is a problem and I agree with @Shroompy that the color blindness settings should (hopefully) help you. If not I suggest you make a post in Feedback and Suggestions and explain exactly what kind of color blindness you have, how it impacts you and how much (if at all) the current blindness settings help. The more the devs know, the more they can do.
-
She has been nerfed pretty significantly. Is she still too strong? Arguably, yes. But at this point nerfing her much further would make her pretty much unplayable.
Maybe they should reconsider how some of her mechanics work. Like, why does keep her blinks after getting stunned by a pallet? It only happens when she messes up and it results in a guaranteed hit. Or why can't DS make her power go on cooldown?
-
Sounds like the server gave out. I'm pretty sure it does count as a dc, unfortunately.
-
Play a killer that will use their power A LOT and will also focus on chase (no Hag). Ideally, they also shouldn't be too weak. Blight, Huntress, Wesker, Oni, Dredge, Xeno and Nemesis are pretty good for that job in my opinion. You will want to use your power a lot.
Use a build that plays into your strengths. A bit of slowdown and information will be necessary. I advise against any exposed perks because they would cost you chase points.
Next, you will need at least 9 hooks, kick gens every now and then (just enough to keep them from getting done) and focus on chasing. As long as you keep getting quick downs and can control the match, you can manipulate the game to give you the double pip. If you are about to win and you notice that you still haven't maxed out chase points, then start chases and leave them again. Also, don't give survivors too many opportunities to heal. It's fine if they heal a few times but spam healing is not good for pips.
-

They should rework her ability and cut blinks or give only one .Blight 4.4 and longer cool down+all strong addons nerfed
That's quite extreme, don't you think?
I'm all for nerfing the things that are too strong but this would make Nurse pretty damn weak and Blight would probabaly find himself somewhere in C tier along with Clown and the likes, if you were to nerf every single part of what makes him strong.

They could be so powerful and kind and just delete her completely
Or they sort out this mess once and for all. There are enough concepts in her lore to create 3 different killers and her drones could probably work in a fun way, if they weren't static.
But I guess this will be the final version of this killer. Now that she isn't straight up unhealthy anymore I really can't see them reworking her again.
-
Depending on what addons you use they can completely transform this killer. A very good Blight with Iri Tag and Alch Ring will slug all survivors at 5 gens. A decent Blight with Alch Ring isn't just a monster but almost unstoppable. A bad Blight with C33 can brute force his way through pallets.
With the right addons Blight becomes so strong, that he isn't even hard anymore. But the real scary thing is what happens when a good Blight uses them. Double Speed pretty much removes all counterplay, if you play it right and Adrenaline Vial makes this killer beyond forgiving. You messed up? Nah, here's another 2 rushes, that are faster than normal and even faster recovery after your cooldown.
His addons turn a very strong killer into an unfair and pretty much unstoppable monster.
-
This largely depends on who you ask. I personally am not a big fan of Wraith and I wouldn't like playing against him any more, if they nerfed him. I just don't like to play against Mr. Bingbong.
On the other hand I love playing against Oni, Huntress and Wesker. All of whom are way stronger than Wraith. It just depends on their power, really.
There will be people, who genuinely think that most killers in this game are overpowered and therefore hate to play against them but I think most people just want fun matches. Exceptions being the occasional depip squad.
-
You could be at the lower threshold of your MMR bracket. When that happens it takes forever to drop down again. This would explain the bad matchmaking you have experienced.
As for Spirit, you can make the same argument for playing as her. She doesn't work without headphones for either side. It comes with her design. There isn't much they could do without completely reworking her from the ground up.

If survivor is on last hook, they gain 7% haste for 1min and only disable with the same condition as DS (do Gen, heal...and disable when gate is powered). It become anti tunneling perk, but with haste. Remove endurance.
I'd be fine with that. Make it 10% for all I care and prevent the survivor from using a flashlight during that time and it should be a pretty good option.

Oh no, you mean you can't just stand in front of a hook and tunnel survivors directly off the unhook anymore!? Maybe practice and adapt?
You couldn't do that before either. As long as survivors used the perks that were specifically designed for those reasons.
But now, survivors have 4 free perk slots and base game mechanics to help them out. I'd say this counts as handholding.
Funny how survivors are allowed to use whatever perks they like without suffering any consequences but killers aren't.
