  • I definitely think she's very underrated, the people saying she only does well against bad survivors are doing some copium because her kill rate is still high for high MMR so that argument falls apart real quick. Having stealth for a sneaky first hit along with being able to get into another chase instantly after hooking I think makes Sadako much better than people give them credit for and some bigger maps where killers would really struggle are better for Sadako cuz she can travel through the TVs along with naturally being good in indoor maps due to being a stealth killer I really think she has very few bad maps. I don't think she's bottom 5 like so many people think by any stretch of the imagination, I'd probably put her maybe low B tier personally.

  • Reverse the distance to evil gained values. It's kinda silly you get more evil standing right in front of a survivor compared to watching them from behind a tree or a window from a farther away and you're ya know, actually stalking them.

  • I'll watch the VOD after if I was playing killer mostly just to see if there was any obvious mistakes I made and see if I can learn anything by watching another perspective, I rarely care about watching for the actual streamer because 90% of the time it's just random insults and salt. My favorite was an artist game where they were streaming with a friend and the friend got downed and they told me to kill myself repeatedly and the streamer was like "don't say that I'm streaming" suggesting if they weren't that would have been perfectly fine to say, that actually did get a laugh out of me.

  • Okay this one actually made me laugh good job lol.

  • Actual huge change if it's in the PTB this would make main building on eyrie not a headache for killer and I love it.

  • I have a feeling this midchapter is gonna separate the people that legitimately wanted soloQ buffs and the people that are never going to be happy unless the survivors have a literal gun.

Gonna be spicy, can't wait for the full PTB notes.

  • Or just stop healing at the hook. I feel like that's how most tunneling occurs.

  • Map Offerings.

Nothing makes me feel like I'm wasting my time more than a SWF with stacked items taking me to eyrie. If it's random chance I get that map so be it but being setup to fail is feelsbadman.

  • I'm saying the idea there's no chase in this game is ridiculous.

A survivor is working on a generator. You approach the generator and kick it. You chase the survivor until they drop a pallet near the gen and kick it. Then you search for other gens with progress. And sadly this stratagie works and what is even more sad it's in most rounds

I think you forgot the part where you actually down the survivor?

  • How are you getting hooks without chasing anyone tell me your secrets.

  • Having used eruption many times I can say the cooldown is an absolute joke. By the time you hook the survivor and walk back to check a gen the timer is usually up maybe there's 4-5 seconds left for you to wait out. It might as well not even have a cooldown with what it's at now.

Also "just run to a different gen" is such a bizarre suggestion because that doesn't actually accomplish anything. The fact is you can't do anything while incapacitated and not being able to play the video game just isn't fun and even worse it's just a perk that brutally punishes solos but is bearable in a SWF because you can tell people when you're about to go down so they can let go.

It's legit stronger than Pop ever was so if we nerfed Pop why would we not nerf Eruption? Pop was 25% Total regression when gens were 80 seconds so each Pop bought you 20 seconds which was very good. In comparison Eruption is 10% at 90 second gens so 9 seconds but on top of that 25 seconds of incapacitated if somebody was working on it so 34 seconds and then if nobody taps it before the incapacitated is up that's roughly another 6 seconds of progress lost so 40 seconds total which works out to a max of 44% possible regression on a gen and this can be applied to multiple gens at the same time. Perk is absolutely bonkers.

Oh and before someone goes and says that's best case scenario and on average it won't be that impressive let's say you only applied eruption to two gens and nobody was on them when eruption activated that's still 18 seconds of bought time which is only two seconds less than old Pop which was considered a top 3 killer perk if not the best killer perk when it was at it's peak.

  • BHVR didn't do it by choice Netflix literally pulled out of the deal.

  • I don't really do anything in particular, I never ever slug for 4k so they always have a chance to find hatch first and if they do good for them if I find it first well unless they have good gates they probably arn't getting out.

  • I feel like making Nurse 110% with one blink is an idea, the only concern then would be she might be nuts with STBFL where you could get a hit recover quickly and instantly blink on to the survivor again but I think something like that would be worth testing at least.

  • I have never run it even once and I think there's only one build I ever would and it would be some Shattered Hope/Pentimento/Plaything/??? abomination the would work on maybe Pig and nobody else. So yeah never touching that perk it's C tier at best and I feel that's being generous to it.

  • I've been using Aftercare a ton recently and love it. I pair it with botany for faster heals and prove thyself for faster gens since I always know where someone is and either they go to me or I go to them. It's an effect just not replicated by bond or empathy because the important part is they can see you too and it's effectively giving them another perk and you essentially help your team play smarter. You get sandbagged less, can find each other for heals and gens quicker, and know what gens you're all doing when you split up to avoid 3 gunning. Yes this goes away if you get hooked but that's not a huge deal because someone has to unhook you and then you immediately have someone to activate the perk again. Having 3 stacks of after care is nice but you honestly only need 1 to be getting value. Criminally underrated perk for soloQ I absolutely recommend it.

  • 3 months might be too much for huge mass perk changes especially with so much other new content. I would say small tweaks to a few things every 3 months and bigger changes meant to shift the meta every 6 months. It's been about 6 months since the big update and I think we've had our fill of gen kick meta atp.

  • Yes please stop healing against Dredge, I'd like more nightfalls. :)

  • I sat the first half of the rift out checking out OW2 and plus just wanted a break in general. Been grinding as hard as I could since then and am I 54 about to be at 55. I might be able to finish the regular rift if I keep going at this pace but hard to say.

  • I mean if we presume that everyone is meant to get a Greek skin and a Beach skin at some point Yun hasn't gotten either yet so that at least two more she should be getting.

  • I went with FNAF.

I don't have any attachment to the series, I just want it for the chaos it would cause in the community.

Imagine it came and the the chapter was actually good like good perks for both sides and the killer is actually strong but interactive after all the hate it gets? Would be amazing.

So can't they make the forums look different? Why'd they have to make it so...bleak

I'm sure it's a work in progress I've noticed them tweaking small things about the layout here and there since the move.

  • I have no idea but if it means I get my Dredge avatar I'll take the trade off.

Actually that's not true I do know why, basically with meet your maker it's obvious that BHVR is trying to branch out and have multiple properties which means more forums and instead of having different forums with different websites they're condensing it all in one place.

  • I have to take issue with the idea that killers have no agency so they have to camp and tunnel for kills. If that's the case one of two things is happening you either got a bad map with terrible RNG which does happen and that sucks when you get suffo pit with 6 jungle gyms that all connect perfectly and the survivors know how to run them and you have a bad time.

But much more often I think is a second scenario where killers just don't go in with any sort of plan whatsoever and don't react to the map or the survivors builds in any way. A lot of killer will just slap on eruption/corrupt/call of brine/pain res because they know they're good perks but not really plan around them, like that build is strong because it's good at 3 genning which is more powerful than it's ever been right now. But killers will just go around kicking any gen they see and kinda not plan a 3 gen and whatever gens get done get done cuz they're not really paying attention then lose be like "what are these are the strongest perks and I still only 1k'd game must be impossible for killers". When like no they're just not playing smart and not using the build effectively.

Camping you say is a bad call most of the time so I'll just talk about tunneling real fast and is tunneling effective? Yes like it is an absolute fact tunneling when you can pull it off increases your chances of winning signifgantly. Do you have to do it to win? No not at all, sometimes it's the right call but a lot of the time if you're playing to the strength of your killer and your build you can usually pull off at least a 2k nearly every single time. Granted it's still smart to ping pong hooks between 2 survivors which technically isn't tunneling because nobody is being put on consecutive hooks.

One last thing I'll touch on is do the first 2/3 gens usually go pretty fast? Yeah usually but that doesn't really matter, gens are like a life total in card games it's just a resource and as long as you have 1 left you can still win. I have had so many games with 1 or 2 gens left and had only 2 hooks to that point and then snowball a 4k because they mess up a hook save or I make a good basement play or they get preoccupied with my hexes or I play Pig/Cenobite and they're focused on their side objectives or I start slugging for pressure. DBD is a game of momentum and if a killer is struggling with that outside of the maps like Cowshed and Eyrie then that's user error.

  • I actually think way more builds for killer are viable than people think it's just a lot of people would go with the most proven build rather than risk losing even once due to experimenting.

Personally I've been running full hex builds the past week and have been doing amazing. So Hexes are definitely not dead the way people think.

If you have a fast or ranged killer aura builds are still fine too.

  • Dredge and Demo, I like my monster killers. Coincidentally they're both good with hex builds although in different ways. With Dredge I run Devour/Haunted/Undying/NOED to play into the fact that I can't actually protect hexes that great but I can get first hits and go from one chase into another extremely easily with extremely chaotic nightfalls.

Demo is Devour/Haunted/Undying/Thrill with Whistle and Webbing Add-ons and once devour is active survivors are fighting over totems more than gens, it's pretty great.

  • I don't run dead hard for this reason, didn't before the change and still don't. 3 health states will always be dumb to me.

I don't run Eruption usually but that's more because I don't like gen kick builds in general rather than cuz I hate facing it.

  • The fact that Twins have a massive bug currently and fixing that got put off for a month shows that 1. Nobody plays Twins and 2. BHVR is kinda okay with that. I don't think any killer mains get screwed over the way Twins mains do on such a regular basis. Maybe Billy mains but I'm not even sure Billy mains still exist atp but at least Billy had his time to be great whereas Twins released bugged af got fixed was okay for a couple months and it's been nerf after nerf after bug after nerf after bug ever since.

  • I actually think gens feel faster because of cheaper bloodwebs. It's not hard to have 5-6 BNPs stocked up at all times and I usually see 1-2 a game and when I don't It's a couple syringes instead. Combine this with survivors constantly taking themselves to eyrie, farm and red forest and I can tell you that's why killers are bringing 4 slowdown perks. The worst case scenario for killers is now much more common.

It doesn't help that medkits can be so stacked now that trying to bring antihealing feels like a joke so there isn't even much a reason to bring anything besides gen slowdown because nothing else feels impactful besides occasionally bringing STBFL or Lethal. Aura builds can actually be decent in the average game but because of map offerings and Iri item add-ons every game you don't really get those games as often.

Survivor meta feels fine to me I kinda feel like I can bring whatever I want as long as I have an exhaustion perk in there and maybe a healing perk depending on if I'm bringing a medkit or not.

  • I kinda agree that not being able to play the video game for 25 seconds feels really bad. Maybe make it 15 seconds and that's a lot more reasonable.

  • It's funny because people complain that BHVR handheld survivors with knight's design with making sure there was built in counters but they did it with dredge first and it's arguably to a worse degree.

Every single aspect of dredge is held back in some way, if we're talking specifically nightfall there are ways to get the effect you're looking for but they're suboptimal for dredge overall. People use third seal for total darkness but personally I'm against it cuz perk slots are valuable and hexes never last long. Instead use tilling blade and it'll basically last the entire duration of nightfall then you get sloppy and third seal all in one.

There's also the microphone to make lockers slam open by themselves, there isn't really a point to that though other than maybe scaring survivors which is pretty funny. At best maybe run it with merciless storm to make survivors jump and mess up the skills checks although that's already a massive reach.

  • Right now trying to perfect my dredge play, I know all the popular builds but now I'm trying to create my own style of playing dredge trying to find perks that synergize with some of the less popular add-ons for them like followers cowl and the caffeine tablets.

Progress is slow it's taking a lot of time to gets things right especially with SWFs bringing me to eyrie every other game but I'm learning a lot and have come up with some pretty interesting builds I think that feel pretty unique and don't even seem that bad so I'm happy with how things are going.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I have zero expectations when I play. That's how I play killer so chill. If I get absolutely steamrolled, oh well!

This is good advice, go in knowing that you're learning and don't expect great results right away. Have fun learning what you can do with your power and how it interacts with different perks and find a build that's good for you. If you focus on learning rather than results the rest will come in time and you can enjoy gradually getting downs in ways you couldn't before whereas if you only care about kills all the time you're gonna have that anxiousness and that will usually be self-destructive.

  • Hoping Megan is good, I wanted to look forward to Scream 6 but they did Neve Campbell so dirty that I'm not sure I'll see it tbh.

  • I actually think Knight is the best camper in the game after Bubba but the community doesn't need to know that. :x

  • Yes on the contingency it's a perk and not an item you can bring otherwise you'll see 4 bat lobbies every other game.

In my opinion, this speaks more to the fact that consumers are conditioned to horrific, anti-consumer practices aimed to scam you out of everything within your wallet, and all the free time you have, rather than the fact that BHVR joining the industry standard is a good thing, actually.

I don't disagree I just roll my eyes at people trying to single out BHVR when they're actually late to the party. To be honest I don't even really understand it as a business decision, I get BHVR wanting to create this feeling of exclusivity and create impulse buys but I'm not convinced that would outweigh what you would earn by just leaving them in the shop all year long.

My only guess is with everything being able to be bought with shards in the future, creating some exclusive skins tied to seasonal events was their work around to finding a way to not actually do that with every skin. And if that's the case it's a compromise between trying to give the community what it wants while still maintaining a profitable business model and while not ideal I think that's a fine trade off in the long run and still better than what a lot of games do.

  • Nobody cries when other live service games do seasonal skins but when DBD does it it's "scummy" lol. Don't get me wrong I'd prefer it if they didn't do this but let's not pretend anything out of the ordinary for the industry at large is happening.

  • Idk some past years I would have been like yeah BHVR haven't earned it but this year? We got a ton a of good changes this year, meta shakeup, basekit BT, killer basekit changes, incoming changes to slugging, bots, hopefully changes to soloQ soon. You may not agree with every change but BHVR is trying to change the game for the better I think. Like I get complaining is fun but compare where we are now to where we were 2 years ago and this game is infinitely better at this moment.

  • Twins

Even Twins mains find them frustrating.

  • The fact that they're unlinked is surprising and very appreciated.

  • @Remedicist said:

I agree, snowmen shouldn't remove status effects.

I heard the killer can use them now too, which would be funny to see if that is the case.

I hope the thing about killers is true so I can use the snowman dredge cosmetic hide inside the snowman and make survivors go "Aww it's a snowman...*pops out*....OH GOD IT'S A SNOWMAN".

  • Dredge especially if you use the cowl add-on. The most frustrating thing to me is getting stunned going for a pick up and the cowl makes so nobody can ever sneak up on you and do a flashy or head-on save. I know people are all about the skull and calender on dredge but I think the cowl is really underrated and gives great information.

Freddy is surprisingly growing on me lately. He's not great but with the extra skill check penalty add-ons and the right build even if I don't win I can at least feel like I made the survivors work for it.

Its existence denies hit and run, denies injuring people as pressure, and in general has caused the same problem since it released: if one person brings it, now everyone else can get away without medkits or spending a perk on healing. There's no additional cost to healing beyond the injured person--otherwise, they'd either need their own perk, or a medkit, or for someone else to invest their time.

Free teamwide healing that can be placed in a safe area is bad.

The scenario you're talking about requires prior knowledge of someone bringing CoH so really you're just talking about SWFs which have always been difficult to deal with and yes the perk is stronger in a SWF then in random solo lobbies which yeah I don't love that but I'm not sure how you would change that without changing the perk entirely and I think it's fine in solo lobbies.

I don't think a lot of killer really do hit and run anymore besides wraith, dredge, twins, onyro and legion. Nobody even plays twins, healing against legion is a waste of time, Dredge has good enough antiloop that they can kinda work around it, Onryo has an entire strategy centered around getting 4ks without ever hooking anyone so really the only killer there that gets destroyed by it is wraith who's low tier and my entire point is CoH mostly just destroys killers that arn't that good anyway.

  • Where does using insidious start and end before it's considered being afk?

  • I don't think CoH is a big deal for most of the roster as they either have good mobility or end chases quickly. But if you play clown for example are you probably gonna get destroyed if they have CoH? Probably but you're clown you were probably going to get destroyed anyway unless your using pinky finger in which case who cares if they heal?
