What ######### rank 33 noobs are you people running with where you "can't rely on people" to ######### heal you? I've literally never had a single game as a survivor, EVER, where people refused to heal me. You crouch at them twice and the whole gang's over here for free BP.

Oh, believe me nobody knows how detrimental to mobility Pig's stealth ability is better than me. Well, maybe with the exception of Scorpionz. I spend a lot of time down there.
I've also never really thought that with Pig, given the sheer lack of mobility, that a perk like Tinkerer wouldn't be all that great. Especially if the generator is across the map.
Well that's where Surveillance comes into play. Rather than waiting for Tinkerer to pop, I'm usually already on my way there.
-
What do you want me to do, count to 5 in a corner while you run away? It's not "abusing" it, you know it's broken and you're still bringing it. Now try broken hooks, where we can't actually hook people. A thing every killer needs to do, not just ones with certain perks. Or how about completely silent survivors with no iron will?
Killers can't "abuse" this bug because there's no real alternative when you eat a DS except to sit there on purpose like an idiot. No thanks. Don't run it until it's fixed. Try out some other perks.

Personally I wouldn't have thought TINKERER on a STEALTH killer, who can cancel their TR virtually at will.
Maybe Dragon's Grip might also be a good pick if you're going Surveillance/Ruin instead of Tinkerer.
Personally, I use Ruin/Surveillance/Nurse's/BBq on my Pig.
I can go into stealth at will, but it slows my movement down and I can't perform grabs. With Tinkerer on top of Surveillance, I find myself at nearly completed gens quite often, so being able to be stealthy while already standing means I can get there quicker and perform grabs from around corners FAR more reliably, although I don't disagree as a whole.
That said, I don't really use it for the stealth so much as for the info. The stealth is a very nice bonus, though. When it procs in chases and I don't have to crouch to do mindgames it's also nice, but a little more situational.

Yeah it's almost like it's the same concept as your car engine or something. Wild.

I think they're great. They sound like generators now and not... whatever they were before.

DBD has taught me one thing, and exactly one thing:

I sort of see where you are coming from, but Wraith is also a stealth killer. Blight doesn't have that option just because he's so loud. Plus, as you said, Blight is much better in a chase and has much better mobility. I feel like a better comparison would be Demo, Billy, maybe even Oni and Nurse. All have out-of-chase mobility and in-chase power.
I consider Wraith as a sort of semi-stealth killer. I think a true stealth killer should excel at landing surprise hits. Depending on your add-ons and survivor positioning/tiles, Wraith can absolutely land some surprise hits, but it's more common that they know you're there and you just try to position yourself so that your little speed boost is enough to get the hit, rather than a hit coming out of what feels like nowhere.
-
Got another Merciless with Pig, this time with all 3 of her perks instead of just 1 in a single perk slot, so I got the achievement. These can be extremely frustrating, but damn are they good at teaching you to use the basekit of the killer really effectively as well as making you feel insanely powerful when you get to use REAL perks. Really helps you fully grasp the impact of each add-on as well.
Still not worth the initial frustration, but I guess if I'm leveling killers from 1 with little BP rather than just dumping a half million into them for teachables, it's a good way to accelerate the learning process.
-
I will trade nerfing this add-on into the ground if they make him a foot taller in exchange. His perspective isn't even anywhere near where his actual head is. It's so bizarre and uncomfortable.

You gotta de-rank to Purple so you can afford to have one gold emblem. Perfect iredescents on most Killers is borderline impossible.
Frankly at red ranks if you manage an adept round you should get a Master achievement instead.
-
Meanwhile, my second game ever as The Pig since I just want to unlock all the killer perks, I merciless but don't get the achievement because I only have one of her perks equipped instead of all 3, because I literally only had one perk slot. Such a weirdly specific achievement.

I think there's a difference when you're someone who normally goes after achievements, I assume you guys just sort of mentally fortify yourselves for the frustration. I just did this on a whim because I thought it'd be funny to have an achievement that "0%" of people had. In the end I accomplished my goal and felt nothing, as I became one with the Blight.

Do you also play survivor?
Does having pallets blocked more frequently than every 40 seconds sound balanced to you?
Take that logic and apply it to Ruin: "Do you play survivor? Does having the gens automatically kicked for DOUBLE regression when you stop touching them sound fair to you? The killer could just patrol the map and get free kicks!"
The whole point of hex totems (in theory, rarely in practice) is that because you can literally delete the killer's perk (and he has 4, vs 12 for survivors' entire team) that it should be extra powerful. I wouldn't run this trash even if it wasn't a hex. The situations where it's useful are extremely situational and 99% of the time you hit a survivor, they use the speed burst to get to another tile.
-
Yeah, I think I'm done with this. This achievement actively makes me like the game less, and makes me want to play it less. I was having a great time with Blight all week, now I just want to uninstall this game and go play something made by developers who have some semblance of an idea of how to make a game.
-
Now that I've got my beautiful Blight, I can kill DS users faster than ever. They get to use their little stun, and then die a few seconds later unless they're near a really nasty tile, which they're usually not.

Its because they CAN'T change achievements unless there impossible to achieve, not bias...
At least on PC you can change an achievement to whatever you want, whenever you want. Why they'd ever make it this ridiculous to begin with is absurd to me. Double pips aren't exactly super common even when you're running on all cylinders with your best perks/add-ons, let alone running with the usually 2 out of 3 trash perks and one decent perk (that doesn't really synergize very well with the trash) that come with each character.

"encourages you to tunnel less"
I think that BBQ is fine, but the quoted part is not really true. Sure, it has the intention to do that, but as long as the Killer can get his Stacks after he tunneled the first person out of the game, it does not really has this purpose.
It shows you where people far away from the hook are, therefore it encourages you to go get them.
Whether you do or not is irrelevant, it still encourages you to.
-
BBQ is a great information perk and encourages you to tunnel less, but I'd hardly call it a crutch. Unbreakable + DS is way more of a crutch and I still don't complain to people when they use it because I'm not a child.

Facecamping isn't reportable and is a perfectly valid, if often unfun strategy. The developers have commented as such numerous times.
Taking the game hostage means playing in such a way that the game will go on indefinitely because someone is refusing to do their objectives. This is almost exclusively a survivor thing since they can refuse to do gens and locker-hop around the map for literally hours if they want, hoping the killer will quit before they find them. Such games are extremely rare, but they do happen. If you're being facecamped, you'll die in a couple minutes or get rescued. Facecamping does not guarantee they'll kill you, save for maybe Bubba who can do both AOE 1-shot downs on top of multi-hits at high speed to eat through borrowed time, but even then you could pair it up with a sabo or a blind or something, there's options even if they're not ideal.
Getting facecamped sucks, but it's definitely not taking the game hostage.

sure but when you got someone demanding the same thing everyone else has already talked and complained about on top of not understanding how client patches work on top of (assuming here) not making a bug report about it (or checking the bug report section) then I kinda assume that the person making the new post is the one being negligent here moreso than BHVR
the bug sucks, they're aware, a fix is in the works, I get to be snarky about it
That's all true enough, but I'm beyond giving BHVR the benefit of the doubt. There's something rotten in the game or maybe they just don't have the technical chops to be running a game like this, because the bugs never stop. Every single patch there's new gamebreaking bugs. Not just minor things or the occasional big bug (that would be patched in under a day in most other games with this kind of playerbase) but huge bugs every single patch, that take months to fix, with hot fixes being extremely rare.
It makes the game exhausting to follow and enjoy. Watching that tournament over the weekend was just horrendous because of it.
-
It is both perfectly reasonable and in most cases expected for a paying customer to make demands regarding whatever they're paying for working correctly. Doesn't mean the demand will be met or even acknowledged, but if you're paying for something, you damn well better demand it works right in a reasonable time frame. Only a sucker or an idiot would sit around making excuses for the people who they're paying money to.

He's incredible. I win match after match after match with him. And when I lose it always feels like it's because I went against a really great team. Or occasionally get a really unfortunate map, but that's all part of the game. I try not to get upset at bad maps because when I play as a survivor I can feel my soul wither away when I enter a huge dead zone, so I know bad maps affect everyone.
-
I was playing Blight the other night and had the best DC ever. Someone missed a flashlight save and killed themselves. I don't stream or record so I didn't get it, but one of the survivors was a Twitch streamer, it should auto-start at the right time (if not, it's 1:16:02):
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/739452098?t=01h15m56sIt was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I pick one up, someone fails at a flashlight save (really not a big deal) I hook and come back... and there's just a Claudette splayed out on the ground. Whiffing your save so bad it kills you.

Except when even in the limited space you have to attack you can be side stepped with no effort
It can be, depending on the area. But not every hit needs to be in a chase, catching people out of position is as much a part of the game as nailing them in chases. Unpredictable or difficult angles work great, because you can reposition SO fast. They're used to dealing with you having to just follow them in a relatively slow straight line. Blight can work around that, work through it.
I don't consider myself some master player at all, but I'm really getting the hang of him, even went up against Superaaronnova last night after the tournament was over. Didn't appear to be a SWF or anything, but I could tell he was very good at dodging my attacks and definitely was the hardest to bring down, but eventually you run out of places to work with.
Again, not some super 4-man SWF killsquad, obviously just a bunch of solo players and not even rank 1s at that, but I get those, too. Sometimes I beat them, sometimes they beat me, but I do well enough to stay at rank 1 just using Blight, y'know?
Blight's really good, but you can absolutely dodge him. That's fine, that's good. I think his relative power level will even out as the survivor base gets used to how to deal with him, but I'm not terribly worried because frankly when I catch you out of position, there's nothing you can do. I can get right up on you and my lunge will even make it through your entire Dead Hard.

Please do..because every time I swing it stops at 45 degrees
I believe the default swing angle is 45 degrees, but coupled with the camera turn prior to the swing, you can get a lot more out of it, as well as weave through some obstacles due to the length of the lunge.
There's definitely spots where you can't use your power... which is normal, that's how powers work.
-
I dunno, if I had to come up with an answer I think I just like to mostly chill when playing survivor, and I'm always on edge against stealth killers? If I hear a heartbeat coming from a mile away, I can prep an escape and get to the nearest tile. With stealth killers I have to, like, pay attention. No thank you sir!
-
I thought he was fun but janky in the PTB, but his finished (nearly) form is way more fun and usable. Still have the occasional weird spot where you just bump into the same terrain a few times, but it's pretty rare. He also has this bug where he just... stops moving during recovery sometimes. It's really annoying.
But in terms of power, playability, fun, etc, he's definitely my new main.

I've seen an influx of pigeons landing on my balcony. Did they get buffed?
You have no idea what BHVR has planned for pigeons in the PTB*:
*Pigeon Test Build -
If they were willing to get a little convoluted with the descriptor text, I think they could do something more interesting: "Hitting a survivor with a basic attack will block all pallets within 16 meters of the survivor after their speed burst ends. If the attack puts the survivor into the dying state, pallets are immediately blocked within 16 meters."
No cooldown, hexes should be powerful, and even without a cooldown and this change it still wouldn't be powerful, just more usable.

Any stealth killers. Just don't find them fun.
-
It was just like real DBD, where you're punished for doing well! Well, the survivors weren't. The survivors got full points for doing well, while killers had to play in really stupid ways for maximum points.
And no, both sides having to play around stupid rules doesn't mean it's "balanced," because going first is an enormous disadvantage usually only overcome if you severely outplay the other team in the first round.
The optimal play should NEVER be to purposely die. Especially since killers had no way to counteract this.
Again, even if you consider is "balanced," it made it less entertaining and much more predictable because killers were functionally neutered unless they got 12 hooks. Get a quick 4k? Enjoy your lack of points! Do all 5 and gens and escape quickly? Full points!
God the scoring system was dumb. A perfect 4k or 4-man escape should just automatically result in full points.
-
You're supposed to use the multiple dashes to find the optimal angle. The turning left/right in a dash is to set up your lunge, which will go in the direction you're looking, so you can even further better your angle and make some really sweet and unpredictable curves at time.
If 5 dashes aren't enough for you to get a good angle, you either need more practice or have found a spot to not use your power.
-
@dugman said:
"Take away all the new killers and survivors and maps and character changes over the last 3 years and you have almost the same game from 3 years ago"
🙄
I think a greater point is the core of the game is still the same. In many games, that's a good thing. But I don't think it is in DBD. I think the default game mode is perhaps the weakest idea they could have come up with. One side holds M1 for an hour and gets in the occasional chase, while the other, as long as the survivors aren't trash, generally have to sweat their balls off in comparison.
We need more game modes. We need new and better objectives. We need experimental concepts and bots for players who DC and a friggin' practice/casual mode. DBD feels so barebones on everything except the myriad ways you can spend money on #########.
-
I imagine this'll be fixed pretty quickly. Although if there was a bug where generators couldn't be finished at 99%, it would've been fixed yesterday.

Plz nerf headphones!!!1!
Don't worry, the sounds are ######### busted half the time anyway. You literally can't hear an injured survivor running 2 feet in front of you fairly frequently. And I don't mean Iron Will quiet, I mean literally no footsteps or any sounds at all quiet.
-
I feel myself dramatically improving with him each day, landing more and more difficult hits.
The only problem is he's so short you can literally lose people behind waist-high walls, and then tracking them again is hard because the scratches are difficult to see at such a low angle.
If they fix his perspective I'll be VERY happy with him. Having him be a 2 foot tall goblin actually hurts his potential greatly.
-
Just ignore the rank. Unless you're still going for the achievement, it doesn't matter. The achievement also doesn't matter, but I know for some people it's important I guess.
I lost several ranks learning Blight, and then promptly gained them back as I got better and better with him. But even if I kept losing it... it'd just mean more interesting games where people aren't just glued to gens and spread across Ormond the whole time.
-
Console survivors, from what I've seen, tend to be altruistic to the point of suicide. I've had games I would've had maybe a 1k or a 2k turn into a 4k because they would throw themselves at the hook, not even trying to distract or wait for me to leave.
I mean, the sentiment of not leaving anyone behind is nice, but have a plan.

The bug can be resolved by dropping them then picking them back up.
Hasn't happened to me yet, but depending on how far you had to walk to get to the hook, this can be disastrous, as dropping someone and picking them back up not only wastes an enormous amount of time (and sets you up for a tremendously easy flashlight save) but also fills a huge amount of the wiggle meter.
I've never seen basic interactions in a game get so [BAD WORD] up after every single patch in my life. I'm just trying to imagine a world where [BAD WORD] turbo boosts stopped working every third patch in Rocket League or guns not firing in CS:GO. These are foundational game elements and should never be suffering from issues like this. Just a few days ago instead of being unable to hook, we had people able to crawl under a hooker teammate to be immune to pick-ups.
The [BAD WORD] never [BAD WORD] stops.

It's kind of pointless to talk about "obligations" in a video game. It's not a job. No one has any "obligation" to do any gens or unhooks. Working as a team is what makes people do those things. It's one thing being willing to lose an item to enemy team (killer), but I don't think anyone should go with expectation of your own team mates working against you. If your don't want to be a good teamplayer, it's very easy to sabotage others and have them be killed quickly: run around the map and throw all pallets, then hide in locker while everyone is murdered or farm hooks, then find hatch with Left Behind. Are you saying that it's fair game to work against your teammates and just care about yourself?
"Stealing" an item from someone does not hurt the team, because the item still exists. You personally no longer having the item is not necessarily antithetical to teamwork. The other person might even put it to better use.
Or not. This is a game where you're lucky if your teammates don't farm you.
-
Unless you leave the trial with an item, it isn't yours, and thus cannot be stolen. The second the match starts, consider the item gone until you escape. If you're not willing to lose an item, don't take it in. The randoms you play with are under no obligation to "give it back."
-
It is not a basic attack, because arbitrary distinctions to limit killer synergy is a top priority.
-
That wouldn't help the reason they're bad at all. They're bad because people with flashlights want to use their flashlights, which means not doing gens.
Some people make some really great saves with them... most don't.
-
This could be a lot of fun. They could've also used something like the carnival from Silent Hill 3, although obviously that wouldn't be related to the Clown.
Chases on a moving Merry-Go-Round with multiple exits would be veeery interesting.
-
If you get hit and you're still within 16 meters of the killer, you're either terrible, on a terrible map, or are next to the most amazing chain of loops in the game.
Maybe if pallets in an 8 meter radius around the survivor (that is, it follows them) were blocked rather than it being where the hit occurred, it could have a little more value.
