I've seen lots of talk about survivors taking a break, but not so much about killers doing it.. Are killer queues longer?
-
I've taken a break from the game, but is it really that bad? I knew it was gonna affect solo queue the most, but this sounds even worse than I thought it would be.
-
I used to pray for 100 ping killers. 😂 I was getting killers 500+ some days, but usually they were around 200. Ping is more of an issue to me than tunneling. It's worse when the killer knows they have bad ping and swing from seven pallets away.. and still get the hit.
-
I quit on Tuesday. I'm sure I'll be back to Dead by Daylight someday, because I love the game. But for now, it has to stop for me. The bugs, pallets, ping issues, cheating, and lack of communication between the studio and community make it difficult to enjoy the game; it's more stressful than fun.
I wish they would give the game to a studio that was genuinely passionate about it. BHVR's decision-makers seem uninterested and continually make poor choices.
-
I play both killer and survivor and I've taken breaks in the past that ranged from a month or two to about a year. I started playing again maybe 3 months ago and I started my latest break on Tuesday evening.
I feel like the responsibility for my personal break this time is the decision-makers at Behaviour. I don't know if they've lost their passion for the game or they're going through something in their personal life, but this isn't how to run a game.I wish them well and hope whatever they're going though is temporary, but I think they should probably step aside for the sake of the game.
They talked so much about why they wanted to reduce tunneling, yet completely failed their tunneling system (twice), nerfed anti tunneling perks and reduced how many pallets survivors had before the pallet density update, making tunneling easier than before. You don't say one thing and then give the community the opposite.
When it comes to new killers and survivor perks, I feel like they've completely run out of ideas. We're getting the same thing or a mashup of two or more things we already have. It feels really lazy and sloppy. The creativity and imagination has gone.
Ping abuse and bugs are probably my biggest issue with the game right now, along with the lack of direction, end results, and a total lack of creativity. I wish the studio well and look forward to coming back when things get better. I'll still be making my voice heard in the forums, cause I genuinely love DBD when it's at its best.

We're absolutely seeing all of it and gathering the feedback. We can't respond to everything, and this is very much a "listening" stage of the process since 9.3.0 just released. It's visible and we're not ignoring it, but sometimes without something substantive to communicate, there is a period of quiet. We do hear you and we do see you.
Thank you. I appreciate the acknowledgement. Good luck with the backlash.

Please note that I am only stepping in with a reminder to keep the post on topic and in line with the Forum rules. Derailing the thread with personal information, naming and shaming, and off-topic arguments just makes it messier than it needs to be. Thank you!
Is anyone going to acknowledge the outrage the update has caused? The longer the silence, the more your players are going to get pissed off.
-
I'm kinda shocked I've not seen a community manager or anyone from behaviour actually say "hey guy, we know we've done wrong... Yada yada yada".. haven't seen a thing? Does someone from Behaviour actually want to let us know you're listening? Cause if we were killer mains, there's already be a designated forum and a patch lined up..

Is anyone actually running this studio at this point or are you guys just asking AI to guess what to do next?Sometimes I try to defend BHVR.
Sometimes their decision making leaves me so confused that I'd actually be happier if they said: 'we all went on vacation and tried letting the AI run things for a few months'. Like that would be awful, but then there would at least be a reason how these things ended up happening.
AI can look at things more objectively than any of us players, regardless of our roles. It might actually be a good idea to let AI tackle these issues.. it certainly couldn't make things worse than the way they are right now.

Don't be. Those countless bugs are definitely their fault.
Oh I didn't say they were talented. 😂 I just said I feel for them.

Because the killers were all complaining loudly.
I've seen quite a lot of killers mains on the forums saying they feel the same. They're asking behaviour to revert too. I know we all complain though, but this? Nobody asked for this.

they are terrible developers
I actually feel bad for the Devs. It's important to remember that they're simply following instructions. Our frustration should be directed toward the decision-makers at the studio, not the developers who are paid to execute their work.
-
Did someone break in to the eggnog a little early? 🎅🏼🦌
-
This isn't a fault of killer mains; it lands solely on whoever has the final say. Yes, we all complain, but nobody asked for this BS.
I think some one needs to own up to this mess..

if you cant win a chase with not one not two but 10 second chance perks .. thats on you. this game is easy mode for your kind . be quiet and suck off the devs some more . its all your kind is good for
Lol again, you're wrong. I play silly Survivor and silly killer, or at least I did. I take in the likes of flash bang and #########, cause winning isn't that important to me. I like fun..
As for the Devs, I've absolutely stuck for them and will right now. They're told what to do, they're just workers. It's whomever is in charge of having the final say that I have an issue with. Who would possibly push this update? It's pathetic and out of touch.
In all seriousness though, how you're not winning when there isn't a safe pallet on some maps, is a mystery. Maybe watch some YouTube vids.
-
You kidding? If you can't get a 4k with the three pallets on a map, that's on you..

Devs, it is not April Fools yet. Please revert pallet density changes ASAP.
What's crazy is, they actually thought this was the way to go. Who's responsible for this?
-
I've just made a similar post. Never have I ever said I will uninstall this game, but #########. No chance I'm playing until they fix this BS.
-
I'm not even the type to say I'm done, but no chance I'm playing this BS.

I mean you're the one swinging your handbag around kidda.

Yes, it's 800% more.. but, my number doesn't matter since it was you and your 13 posts talking about these "alt accounts"... Silly.

It's just sad to see these alt accounts talking to themselves. They aren't a true survivor player if they don't play both sides, just fakes clinging like a loose turd begging not to get flushed down the toilet.
He says with a whole 13 posts.

I actually agree. As a 50/50 player of Blight mainly, I honestly don't see the issue. There needs to be a balance of pallets. Some maps have less than 10!

What are you talking about? I never have to wait for killer when I play during the evenings (which is when I play most frequently). There are more than enough survivor players. This is simply the same doomposting we always hear when survivor-only players are upset about not getting unnecessary, abusable and balance-damaging buffs for their side.
There's a decent amount of survivors uninstalling to take a stand against the studio. I said let's just not give them any cash, but they're going ahead with uninstalls.
-
I think there are far too many aura perks in the game now. Huntress doesn't even need to look to find a survivor, she opens a locker, hits a gen, waits for a great skill check etc. it is a little overkill, but when you run out of ideas (see every killer in the last year for examples) then aura reading it is.

The same situation with killers who have ping lower than yours
This game needs more serversDoesn't work like that. Bad ping, regardless of who's side it's on, always favours the killer.
-
We have to face facts. DBD is a cashcow for the Devs. They don't really care about what's fun or fair, so long as people keep giving them money. If you're unhappy with the direction the game is going, don't punish yourself and stop playing. Play, just don't give them a single penny of your hard earned cash.
If one of the main causes for people uninstalling my game was tunneling and slugging, I'd try my best to fix it.
-
It's definitely getting stale on the survivor side. I play 50/50, but I play both sides to have a little fun, not to win. The fun isn't so much there anymore, so I absolutely don't blame survivors for letting the Devs know that they've let them down.
I used to buy skins and all sorts because of fomo, but I haven't given this studio a single penny in a good while, cause I didn't feel like them respect me as a player. Dbd is a cash cow. If the studio is pissing you off, don't give them any money. Hit them where it really hurts.
-
I find it hilarious that people actually had faith in the studio after all they've done in the past.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Streamers like Otz and the wanna be Otz (can't think of his name) are one of the biggest problem with this game. They're not impartial, have too much to say and they have far too much influence. If they say overzealous needs nerfing, every killer will start calling for a nerf. I'm not impartial and I play 50/50, so there's no way they're impartial.

simply increase the pens for DC and go next prevention. if people afk or intentionally try to go next then they would get a pen stopping them from joining another match. treat them like hackers, the game is better off without hackers ruining the game just like its better off without people DCing or not playing the match….just ban the lot of them.
Punish your players too much, they'll just not play. What's more important to the studio? Stopping DCs or keeping the money rolling in?
-
This happens far too much. I've been accused of cheating a few times, but it's usually when the killer is furious cause he's had a bad match and needs something else to blame. It's no skin off my nose. I know I'm not cheating, so I say ggs and move on.
-
@Szakally said:
HOT TAKE: Even if they add harsher DC, people will just start running towards killer and starting doing gen infront of killer face. So go ahead and add 24h penalties because it won't change anything. ;)
This. As much as people would like to force others to play/complete a match, you'll never do it. They'll find a way to get out of that match or just AFK and open Reddit, like I do every time I'm slugged as survivor or being bagged at the gate as killer. 🙂 I think the penalty system is okay. Hopefully once camping and tunneling are "solved" (I won't hold my breath cause I've have seen what behaviour do) but hopefully things will calm down.
-
I'd say there are a few blight add-ons that need toning down, but I'd also say iridescent billy needs tuning too.
In saying that, I'd sooner verse a blight than any of the newer killers. There's something about how easy to play the latest 4-5 killers are compared to Blight.

Honestly, if that's your attitude towards one strong killer regardless of the player's skill, I'd much rather a bot over you as a teammate any day. Because at least the bot will try to play the game instead of giving up like an entitled brat.
One strong killer? I love nurse and blight games. They're strong killers. Ghoul is an easy kill killer. But I do like being called a brat. Gives me fuzzy feelings in my belly. ❤️
-
This isn't something that is exclusive to DBD. You won't ever force a player to play a match they don't want to play. I personally think not allowing survivors to unhook is one of the worst decisions they made during this "health update". Being left to go second in solo isn't my idea of fun, so it's luck offerings every match for me.
I think some people need to know when to take a rest from the game. That goes for both survivors and killers.
-
I don't quit, but if I get a Ghoul, I'll try my hardest to get hooked and tunneled. That killer drains every ounce of enjoyment from this game imo "Oh no, how did I not make that vault on the other side of the map?" 😱
-
When I play survivor, it's usually a blight with DMS who tunnels at 5 gens. I don't complain I just get on with it.
When I play killer, it's usually with survivors who like kicking my ass. I don't complain I just get on with it.
Why oh why can't you just play and have some fun? If they're pre dropping every match, play a killer that can disregard pallets every match. Personally I'd rather have a match where I laugh out loud than win.
-
I keep getting the same killer who is a showcasing the pros of the cheats he's using.. The match is basically an advert for the cheats. It's wild that Behaviour can't flag an account who's username is 'Cheats made by XYZ'.. Then there's another guy, survivor who jumps on rocks with super high ping. Played against him maybe 15 times. Can't even avoid him, cause he's anonymous and changes his outfit every match.
-
I don't agree with most of your post, but I do think Behaviour are their own worst enemy. A complete shakeup of staff might do the trick. From the Devs to the community managers.. fresh blood.
-
Yeah, I agree. Ranking barely exists in DBD, and I'd go as far as saying that during events, it doesn't exist at all in the main game. I will get amazing teammates one match, and the next, a meg crouched in a corner and a Dwight hiding in a locker 300 meters away from a killer, waiting for a headon. It's far too inconsistent to actually be called a rank.
-
Don't lots of the killers just disregard pallets, insta break them, vault over them or use their power over them? It might feel like a pain if you're a trapper for example, but if you're a Wraith or that silly head thing, pallets aren't that big of a deal. There needs to be a middle ground or all killers need to deal with pallets the same way. Behaviour caused this issue.
-
I feel like Scott lives in his own little world. I play killer maybe 50% of the time and I do get a DC here and there, but nowhere near the scale he's talking. I play fair, try not to tunnel unless I'm in a no win situation, and never camp.
I think there's a wider problem here though. I believe the game would be better without certain streamers and Scott being one of them. They have too much influence and not one of them are impartial.
-
@WolfgangGarou said:
I said it a year ago and I'm happy to repeat it: the most efficient way to prevent tunnelling is to give the survivors a disadvantage that ends with the first death/elimination.
So as long as there are still 4 survivors left, there is a 15-20% penalty on the repair speed. If the killer quickly tunnels one out, the penalty is removed and the survivors can repair the generators at normal speed (which is currently about 34 seconds per generator for a solo survivor with the right combination of perks).
Since the killer decides when the first survivor is out, they have control over when the handbrake on the generators is released and have a real incentive to distribute the hooks.
...and that the ranking of kills to hooks and escape to usefulness (as it used to be with pips) should be changed is something we don't need to discuss. This system had its teething problems, but the bottom line is that it was much healthier for the game than the current ‘kills equals skills’ and ‘only those who escape have won and were good’ mentality.
Punish survivors as a solution to killers tunneling? 🫤 Yeah, no..
-
Once a survivor is unhooked, they become 'untouchable' for X amount of seconds (however long a regular heal takes).. The survivor can't add to the game in any way, can't be hit, can't body block etc.. They can only heal, be healed or run away.
I don't think we should be giving S and A tier killers any more than they already have. But by all means, give pig, legion, trapper etc a free speed boost or a mini pop.
Sorry I went over the one sentence.
-
I'm totally on board with this. No stacking across the board for both killer and survivor.
-
Of all the problems in the game, this isn't one that needs attention.
