As above. It's rare I play against a pig or a wraith, but when I do, it's unlikely they tunnel. On the other hand, most of my games are Blights who bring meta slow down and tunnel at 5 gens. Something clearly needs to be done..
-
I enjoy playing him as a killer, but as a survivor I have to admit, I just skip Ghoul games.. For me personally, it's the free hits that are the problem.. Take that away, and I think I'd like him as both killer and survivor.
-
With respect, it's been this way for years in high MMR.
-
Something needs to change. Certain killers are way too good at tunneling and they've spoiled it for those killers that aren't so good. We can't blame behaviour or survivors for killers who've caused this problem.
Every match I have (and it's been this way for a long time) is a Blight, Nurse, Ghoul or that new silly head on a spine thing.. and 80% of the games result in a tunnel. I'll occasionally get a Wesker or a pig. The whole "Everyone is gonna just run blight". no.. they already are.
Personally, I'd much rather see ping abusing fixed, but if this makes my occasional solo survivor game better, I'll take it.
After all is said and done, there are still going to be new players joining the game and that's what the Devs want. Long term players of DBD are becoming a problems cause they all think they know what's best for the game, yet won't listen to the other side. So a bunch of fresh faces might be the answer. Let's hope a few of the streamers leave too, cause they have far too much influence.
-
I'd say leave the tutorial as it is, but have a separate perk tutorial. Have the survivor move around the map and activate different perks and then show they how they work. They wouldn't need to show every perk, cause most perks are just ######### for survivor, but it would give them an idea what perks can do.
-
I don't understand this? My games are always blight, Ghoul or nurse anyway. I occasionally get an Oni and very rarely a Myers or Wraith..
I too skip Ghoul games, ain't nobody got time for that. ๐
-
100% behind this. Either show us ping in lobbies so we can dodge, or allow us to exit the match early. My main reason for leaving was bullshit hits. If I drop a pallet and stun the killer, I should not then be hit on the other side of that pallet.
I've seen killers start the match with good ping, but once they know they're losing, their ping suddenly and out of nowhere hits 300+.. You're not telling me this is normal..
-
I play both roles and I don't think this is the right system. Remove all of these silly status effects and simply add an 'untouchable' effect to whoever's been unhooked, for 30 seconds. They can heal, but can't do gens, bodyblock etc.. and the killer can't down them. They're out of the game for 30 seconds.
I actually think solo survivors are their worst enemies. When I play survivor I always try to get first chase to allow the other survivors to get the gens done.. what do they do? Nothing! There's only so much you can hold their hand.
When I play killer, I seem to get the most amazing SWF, but I'm not complaining. I usually have fun. The problem with killers is they think they have to get a 4k every single game or it's unfair.. Just have a laugh, it's not that deep.

The killer went afk. Why not just go collect BP, gens, chest, bones, challenges could get done. Sounds like opportunity to me.
I was on the hook.. ๐

And still not a single word from the community mods, huh...

there's nothing to say it's been the same replies for years now.. "tunneling is a valid strategy", "it's a survivor skill issue, learn to loop", "you have antitunnel perks just use them", "the killer can't win without tunneling"
then you finally get 2 DAYS of PTB after years of nothing, all social medias are in flames > > immediately canceled because "too punishing for killers" xDD
Well we don't have to just take it. There are ways to force them to do something. Like everyone refuses to spend a penny on the game..
-
Tunneling has gotten worse since the Devs mentioned it wasn't coming in the next update. I'd love for one of the community managers (who were very active when killers were complaining) to let us know when we should expect the anti tunnel system to come..
-
If it's anything like the anti slug thing they did and then delayed.. forever.. I don't think we'll see anti tunnel at any point in the future. And seeing how quiet the community managers are is very telling..

In 2021 the devs stated in a Dec Update that about half of the survivors play with the SWF Feature in 2 or 3 man teams and about 5% play in a full 4 team swf. Assuming these numbers haven't changed that much in the last 4 years, it would explain the balancing difficulties BHV faces. Make solo queue bearable while not absolutely making it abusable as hell for SWF.
Also surviving with friends is one of the biggest appeals dbd has. 0 chance that it will ever be removed
It wouldn't be hard to implement a system that checks if a lobby is solo queue or not. It would be easy enough to buff solo queue while not buffing swf.
-
I honestly think they've been shelved and we won't see them now until maybe 2027. It's unfortunate, but we've seen it before. If you're feeling burnt out or angry at the Devs, either uninstall and leave a review or keep playing, update your review and don't give them a penny.
-
Tbh, I play for fun. I just want to do silly things with the killer, have a good chase, etc. But if the killer tunnels at 5 gens, that's no fun, and I'll usually go give myself up. The way I see it, he needs that kill more than I need the escape. I'd have probably died anyway, saving the last survivor on my own, so why not just end the match now and move on. Escaping just doesn't mean that much to me, but having fun does.
-
It doesn't matter. The next time they try this with be 2027. We've seen it all before.
-
It's telling to see the lack of community manager posts.. They were all over it when killer mains were crying. When survivors kick back, nowhere to be seen..
-
Nah, keep playing.. But hit them where it hurts. Consider updating your review on whatever platform you're playing on and don't spend a single penny in the game..
-
Get used to it. With the main Twitchers being killers mains, they're always gonna win.. Look at made for this. It offered 3% haste when injured. "It's too much" cried the likes of otz.. Meanwhile play with your food offers Killers 15% haste..
This is the second time they've done an update to help survivors and the second time it's been cancelled. You might get anti tunnel and anti slug in 2028, but it'll be as useless as anti camp.

I think we'll get something, but neutered to the point of borderline uselessness.
You mean like anti camp? ๐
-
I don't think they'll ever come tbh. It's Behaviour. How many times have they let us down in the past.
-
It's like this every time there's a change or a decent perk released. It's quite sad. Dead hard, Made for this, Hooks re spawning, survivors getting endurance. Tale as old as time.
-
I'm looking forward to not having to rely on anti tunnel perks every game. People will always have a moan, because they hate change. Unfortunately, people either need to adjust their play style or just don't play.. It really is that simple. Slugging and tunneling has been a problem for far too long. And I think this is great for new players.
-
I don't think they play either killer or survivor, tbh.. But I do think they want to try to make it better.
-
Haddonfield was shocking. 7 pallets on the whole map some rounds. It's about time.
-
The automatic lock on thing and free hit is probably my biggest gripe, but I've just stopped trying against him in solo queue, cause I know how it's going to go. Meg is gonna go down in the first 20 seconds, get hooked and instantly go next. I wouldn't usually defend this behaviour, but Playing against Ghoul feels like fighting a losing battle in solo, so I don't blame them.
-
The latest killers all feel the same, but I think the breaking point for most people is the mess that is ghoul. people are starting to hate him as much as the old SM.
-
Lol let's let behaviour fix the core game before adding new code to 2v8, cause you just know that survivors would spawn in upside down or something..
-
I haven't even touched 2v8 this time. I can see the queue times being worse than ever.
-
I use head on and built to last and face douche bag survivors thinking I'm hiding. Let's not bother adding to that.
-
They've had to push their next DLC just to fix the plethora of bugs in the game, do you think they'll have time to play it too? I'm not defending the studio btw, I think they've become a parody of themselves over the last year.
It feels like they want to take the game in a direction that doesn't align with that of the player base.
-
I'm hoping they take a look at the current killer meta next, because... What was the word they used? Mildly annoying. Let's start with dead man's switch. ๐
-
I have to agree. Just get rid of them all together and bring us something else you'll eventually nerf beyond use.
If you want to kill everything because it's mildly annoying, may I suggest dead man's switch?
-
If you didn't see it for yourself, you'd think it was a joke. It's tragic, but hilarious. They rework these killers and make them worse than before, usually for both killer and survivor. This time it just takes the piss.

This apology is PR to fan the flames and get people to calm down. It's the typical "I'm sorry, give me another chance" bs that happens in relationships. How long until the next apology?
The takeaway from that stream, is stop doing those surveys they send out because it's very clearly a waste of our time.
I would suggest not giving them money either until real change is shown
This. The only way to get change is to stop giving them your money. Don't buy any outfits and let the dlcs flop. They're never going to give a ######### so long as people keep lining their pockets.
-
The ones on the edge of Haddonfield always make me laugh, but since there are a total of only 7 pallets on there to begin with, I guess we take what we can. :/
-
Lol they don't care as long as you're still paying for those cosmetics.
-
They have to recycle old code, cause when they use anything new, survivors would spawn in horizontally or something wacky.
As for the quality, look at any decent quality survivor perk from the past. They've all been gutted.. it's best to push out something that nobody's going to use, than something good that'll get complained about and forces them to waste more time on it.
-
I mostly play solo. The only time I repeatedly see survivors quitting (DC/AFK/force themselves on the killer) is when playing against Ghoul. It's getting like the old Skull Merchant days. People really hate him.
-
Didn't behaviour accidentally release a Dev build of dbd one time? Once something like that is out there, I don't think there's any going back.. Unless of course you rebuild the system from the ground up and I can't really see that happening. I think they know they're fighting a losing battle and so they just leave them to it.
-
I think maybe they should just remove them completely. They're useless. Go back to the drawing board and come up with something else to never use.
-
I'd rather see a variant of toolbox that you can use to create new pallets. This would be great on the maps the Devs have forgotten about. Mentioning no names (Haddonfield).. But anything new for survivors should be fun.
-
@Mr_K said:
BHVR heard you didn't want to face P100 Nurses and Blights every match.
Nurse drives me insane, but I don't mind facing Blight. I'd much rather either though, over someone brand new. ๐ซค
-
I got kicked out of few matches yesterday and eventually couldn't get back in screen to even find a match. Started the game up today and pressed play, only to be met with a 15 minute ban. ๐ Needless to say I just turned off the game.
-
I've been taking a commodious toolbox, wire spool and scraps with built to last and hyper focus. It's not a build I usually take, because I hate doing gens. Recently though killers have been tunneling out the first survivor and they quite often leave chase with me, if I'm running them too long. I was hoping rushing the gens would force them to chase me, but still no.
I'd much rather have a full chase build and ignore gens all together, but the games don't allow for that right now.
-
I'd assume the best way to cool down from a rage quit is to take a break. This new system stores your minutes until you log back in. The problem? They're saying you have to take that break while the game is still open. That would just make me more angry; I can't even close my laptop!
-
I wouldn't like the game to change too much, but I think survivor has become a little stale. I'd love to have some new items or even reworked items for survivor. A smoke bomb or something wacky to have fun with.
-
I haven't really played any of the last few modifier events, they all felt really "try hard" on both sides. I'd have thought they'd have been more relaxed than the regular game tbh.
-
I haven't had a penalty yet, but I'm pretty sure the outcry will force Behavior to rethink this silly system they've introduced.. I get AFK crows from moving across the map or using built to last. It's kinda ridiculous. I can't think of another game that punishes you for playing the game.
