Imo she is borderline unbalanced. She defies many game mechanics and is uncomparable to other killers. Mastering her makes you almost unbeatable* and that shouldn't be the case.
*yes even addonless

Why literally everyone wanted a rework and now so many "keep old Freddy" threads emerge?
-
I find kinda funny the idea of walking around as survivor and seeing totems everywhere
-
Good news, I'll be able to play again :)
-
Having communication between random strangers of different age and from different nations (=different languages) wouldn't change nothing in positive.
Plus, communication per se is not so relevant. I've seen many times teams of 4 randoms playing super coordinated just because they were smart.

I think I know what u mean. The developers once mentioned that Freddy is a very "strong" killer in the low ranks, because new players are overwhelmed with his ability.
It's not just that. I can talk only for myself, but personally I can't stand anything of him.
I have no problem surviving him, mind you, but he's the incarnation of "you can run, but you can't hide" (which I hate) and matches with him feels so random with little to no control that it's all but fun for me.
I have a feeling if they allowed people to play old Freddy, survivor would just dc to not play against him since there would be a funnier version around.

Hands down the Xenomorph

This game is hard for everyone at first, there's a lot to learn and the game brings up a lot of emotions that blurs judice. Take it easy or else you'll just play bad and feel bad for it.
The fact toxic people exist doesn't help, but hiding the chat does.
Also redefining what is toxic helps: if you start considering looping, tbagging and flashlights (which were nerfed into oblivion a year ago, btw) toxic you'll have a miserable experience. Just see them for what they are: strategies with a specific purpose (yes even tbagging, often it is used to make the killer mad and make him play bad and focus only on one survivor, often the best one at looping).
I suggest you to watch some streamers if you want to get better faster. One I would recommend is Hybrid Panda, who might not be the best at the game but has a great attitude that might help you take it easier.
-
All the problems you talk about are solvable by just learning the timing, taking in consideration all the delays, and shocking not the survivor but where the survivor will be once the shock is about to end. As someone who mained him for some time I can tell with enough practice you can deny 90% of loops.
I wouldn't mind some change to him though, but adding a 4th madness level is not what he needs. Good changes are what @SnakeSound222 proposed, that encourage an active and chase-focused playstyle instead of what most Doctors do which is a passive use of his power (which leads to him performing poorly against good survivors)

Every survivor and their mothers 99% gates now instead of opening them right away. Blood Warden does nothing against competent survivors most of the time.
Pop requires you to phisically go to and kick a highly progressed gen. It's good, but nowhere near as universal as ruin.
People talk ######### about Ruin all the time but it's still the most used killer perk by red rank survivors by quite a large margin. No other perk applies global pressure like Ruin. Survivors merely touching totems gain you time. Even if each survivor misses one great skill check all game, that's still 16 seconds worth of gen time, plus the time with the gen progression stop, without you doing absolutely nothing. Not to mention the great skill check bonus they don't get.
It's easy to underestimate the impact a perk has when you don't see it phisically happening, but Ruin is still the most high impact perk for killers with no mobility, period. Until more good killer perks start being made, there is no opportunity cost whatsoever for running it.
If you play Nurse, Billy, Spirit or Hag, I understand not appreciating Ruin as much. But it is ABSOLUTELY required against good survivors. If you don't think so, you clearly don't play vs good survivors with mediocre to bad killers.
The killer can open the gates. Just saying...
-
If the killer is bad there's honestly no reason to not cleanse totems since you're not short on time. Each survivor just need an average of 1.25 totems cleansed per match, it's really not a big deal.

This discussion reminds me of people complaining that they get spotted from afar as Wraith while cloaked because they run around in open areas without consideration for LoS.

First off: I'm not saying no, I'm just reflecting on this.
Large portions of the game design depend on Survivors being able to look somewhere they're not moving (or not at what they're working on).
Imagine repairing a generator against Pig in first-person camera.
Perks such as Object of Obsession (ones that depend on the direction you're looking) are much less useful during actions.
I think playing Survivor from first-person would make you immediately appreciate how much of an advantage it is to have third-person camera.
This difference in camera is one of the most fundamental asymmetries in DbD; shifting that would make seismic changes in the gameplay all over the place! :D
Personally I think a first person mode would be possible by shifting heavily the focus on sounds. Maybe it could be a perkless mode to make balance easier, but it would indeed be a very welcome change to all horror fans.
-
Mmmh while the idea is cool I think it would be too easy to use it to create a 3 gen stall even if survivors were wise enough to not let it happen, and on some killers it's a really strong strategy.
I don't think I ever got less then a 4k with the Trapper when successfully pulling it, just for example. With that perk my Trapper would be borderline OP.
-
Basically they are pallets that used wisely can buy a lot of time for the survivor. That's why an early drop is considered a waste

As long as the bonus BPs are in the survival category I like this.
-
Afaik you actually didn't buy "the stuff", you only paid the license to use it. The product is still owned by the company and they can do whatever they want with it, and you accepted this condition.
-
All reasonable and well thought changes +1
-
Personally I tend to play like this and I found it makes it more enjoyable for me. Not tryharding allows you to laugh at stupid stuff and if you "loose" it's because you gave them more chance so it's way less frustrating. Overall it feels more a game than a competition.

@White_Owl proof or it didn't happen ;) lol
In farm maps crows are really few, especially in those with big corn fields. In those maps loosing survivors is easy and Spies From The Shadows is utterly useless. What I'd like is the addition of scarecrows in the fields where crows lay on, so to make crows presence more consistent on those maps.;)
-
I made the same suggestion like two years ago and still nothing, I wouldn't get your hopes up :/
-
I'm pretty sure the Entity keeps his eyes and mouth opened to force him watch tbagging suevivors and eating pallets even in-between trials.
No wonder he went crazy...

@White_Owl I take it you're excited for his new outfit as well?
Yeah that scarecrow-ish skin is sick.
-
My all time favourite is the Wraith. I love everything about him, taking people by surprise, moving silently and quickly around the map, faking hits with the cloaking animation and the uber-lunge right after decloaking. Oh and let's not forget his design. Plus he's one with the best and more varied addons, so the possibilties with him are a lot.
-
That's some victimism you got there...
-
The only thing I would change about moris is that the survivor should be healed after being unhooked to be moriable. I see too many killers camping and tunneling to quickly dispatch of a survivor, and before someone comes with the "it's a tactic" argument, I say that it sucks and isn't fun for anyone.
-
I highly doubt Skyrim invented that dagger design.
-
It's been a while for me that it takes 10-15 minutes to find a match, and then some more to fill the lobby. I hope it gets better after the event ends.
-
I have a question about this part of the PTB changes:
- The global audio cue when activating Night Shroud has been removed
Isn't it a bit unfair to the Wraith? He's currently the only stealth killer with a directional audio cue up to 40 meters in range, but he doesn't have a secondary power like RBTs or stalking.
-
Haven't played against him a lot, but I had the same experience.
-
I'm having the same problem on PC. Since a while it takes me an eternity to get a match, while once it took me seconds.
-
4% refers to the two smaller angles (created by dividing the screen), 8% to the big one. It's the same thing said in two different ways.
-
For some reasons I'm not surprised. About the overreaction of this community I mean...
-
The only movie that really scared me (although when I was a kid) was Alien.

yeah because a killer shouldnt be powerful or feared .... just so she can be bullied .... nothing about this should be changed. when phasing she is not in our world so why would she affect corn or grass too move? she goes too the otherside. think about it use your brains .... lol
By that logic then she shouldn't collide with survivors while phasing.
And btw why everything has to be about bullying killers? Is it some form of PTSD?

There was a change recently that changed the way that works. Before it would make a lobby right away, then you'd wait for survivors to fill it. Now, it'll look for survivors to fill it and then make the lobby once it's found a match. The overall queue time should not have changed. If you are getting a significantly longer queue time, please let me know and I'll have the team look into it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/525198#Comment_525198
That's not quite the case. It wasn't based purely on the population in different regions, it was fairly random and could happen to anyone. I would previously get instant queues while people who lived a couple blocks away would end up waiting for half an hour. We wouldn't be able to fix long queue times in low population regions with a new matchmaking system. Both systems would gradually expand their filters and accept people from further away if it could not find a lobby.
Personally I can't play killer because it takes forever to find a lobby and then it's made of 1-2 survivors and I have to wait even more that the lobby gets filled (which often doesn't).
-
For some reason everyone forgets about him when talking about stealth :(
-
I think the Plague suffers from a similar problem to the Trapper's, which is the fountain/trap spawn. Often they are in remote corners of the map and sometimes they are all grouped up leaving an area of the map empty. This makes the use of fountains a huge time investment for the killer, sometimes even a hindrance, and can lead to corrupt purges waste.
I also think that fountains shouldn't heal but only remove sickness and the broken status, because currently it's frustrating when you spend time injuring survivors but a few seconds later they're all healed. Sure you have fountains, but they are unreliable because of the spawn problem, and this imo removes a lot the pressure the killer can give since they can't force survivor to waste time healing (thus forcing them away from gens).
-
Penalyzing gen rushing means buffing hard camping.
-
I only play Solo so maybe it's just that my teammates are always potatoes
Unfortunately no change to the perk can change this.
-
Honestly I don't think Billy is that balanced, he has everything a killer might want: high mobility/map presence, instadowns and antipallet mechanics all in one easy-to-use ability with basically no cooldown and very huge hitboxes , plus 115% base speed. He only lacks teleportation.
What I'm saying is not that he is OP, but that thinking of using him as a balance reference point for other killers is unrealistic.
-
Personally I'm ok with aura reading countering stealth abilities. What I'd like is for the killer to get a warning when someone is reading their aura, so they can adapt if needed.
-
The downside is that the killer could have Rancor, Remember Me or Dying Light and really want you dead.
-
Killers that get hit by the new DS totally deserve it (most of the times), so no shame on you.
-
I love the light rain in the Red Forest, especially because its sound is very realistic (going under the mother's house porch makes you feel really there).
I also love Lery's treatment theatre and the loud sliders that activate when the gen is repaired.
-
This would hit solos more than swf, since the debuff would affect the whole match but swfs at least know it in advance and can help eachother.
-
Next step: spawn inside the locker
-
It has an effect even at 0 tokens, that's why it notifies survivors.
-
Honestly I don't think NOED needs changes, but this is not a bad idea.
