They aren't the same thing

Except there's a lot of evidence backing up my claims lol. Show me some compelling evidence that suggests killers aren't underpowered. I'll wait XD
Your argument isn't that killers are underpowered, it's that optimal survivors will always beat most killer setups.

To me I only really find Huntress, Deathslinger, Nurse, Demo and Oni difficult tbh.
Starting out as Trapper is also pretty confusing imo

If there was some special technique for beating optimal survivors, someone would have discovered it by now. But there isn't. Many of the players with thousands of hours will tell you survivors are still generally stronger than killers. I don't know how to explain it any simpler.
It's hard to explain opinions :/

In my personal opinion, I think spirit is perfectly fine, I enjoy most of my matches against her and I personally love playing as and against her, I actually just had this match against her, one guy suicided on the hook but she definitely struggled.
You definitely need practice with her, if you don’t practice with her then good or above average survivors will be able to run you, at least in my experience.
It's natural to struggle when trying out a new killer at high ranks. She may not be free wins, but she is one of the easiest for the most reward.

Since your so obsessed with this idea that she's a "Training Wheels" killer I'll have you know that only 2 perks make her that way! Stridor and Predator!
And since you wanna say that Spirit is easy to use, I challenge you to use a add-on that makes her tough to play with any of her 'Training Wheels" perks called Mother-Daughter Ring and see how easy she is to use since she take's no skill
Why would someone looking for training wheels want to hinder themselves?

Being a veteran player means we know what we're talking about because we've experienced everything lol.
There are no prodigies in DbD. You might be able to learn faster than others, but there's only so much you can do (as killer).
No one experiences everything, they only experience what they experience. Your attitude is unhealthy.

Found it. 6th comment, from Peanits:
Prove Thyself can negate the inefficiency of one survivor working on the generator with you...
...Beyond that, however, you still get the penalty
And then he does comparing calculation of old and new PT, which is not boosting the gen time to 20 seconds for 4 survivors.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/141868/3-7-0-repair-changes
It's not taking 20 seconds because the inefficiency is getting bigger and the gap between PT and 100% efficiency is becoming more accentuated. It still gives 15% per survivor.

Being a veteran doesn't make you skilled, why do you think prodigies exist?

You do know that a majority of the killer roster are “noob-friendly” and simple to play right?
You could train yourself on a bike using rocks taped to sticks, doesn't make those rocks training wheels. A training wheel makes it so you move faster and your bike doesn't fall over. Rocks and sticks barely do either, but do ease the experience a little.

I am one of the least biased people on this forum. I play both killer and survivor at rank 1 (and have done so for a long time). I've experienced pretty much everything this game has to offer.
And through my experience, I've basically nailed down all the balance problems. One of the main balance issues with DbD is that optimal survivors still hold an advantage over most killer setups. Sorry if that reality is disappointing to you.
Or maybe just you personally can't beat optimal survivors?

And why are you bitching about it even if she is easy to play? As I said MOST killers are easy to play.
Easy and has good results. So is Freddy. Is he training wheels? Billy is simple to use and gets good results. Is he also training wheels?
Is Spirit was “easy to play” and was “training wheels” then a yellow rank could pick her up and play well on their first match playing as her. And most Spirit’s I see struggle. You know why? Because I’ve played enough Spirit to know how to prolong a chase. Something most players don’t do. You can’t play against a Spirit the same way you do a Wraith.
Freddy and Billy are also training wheels...

A number of the maps are downright awful.
That said, I hope the devs continue to make the maps more killer friendly. I would hate to see BHVR go down another dark road.

Not every killer needs to be on Nurse or Huntress level of difficulty to play. Not every killer needs hundreds of hours to become great with.
A majority of the killer roster don’t require a large amount of skill to play. This includes Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Myers, Doctor, Leatherface, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Legion, Plague, and Ghostface. Anybody can pick up these killers and do well with them on their first try. Even killers like Billy, Oni, and Demogorgon are not hard to play nor require a bunch of dedication.
You’re acting as though by playing Spirit you’re handed a free win. Go against good survivors with Spirit and you’ll see that it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
The ONLY reason people have an issue with Spirit is that she is the second strongest killer in the game and she doesn’t take as much effort as Nurse and she gets almost the same results as Nurse. Same reason people have issues with Freddy. If Spirit was a bad killer you wouldn’t hear a peep out of anyone.
You didn't explain why she isn't literally training wheels. She's easy and has good results. Training wheels by definition.

plague is annoying? i mean you clown kinda annoying but plague is annoying whenever i go against plague i have the most fun except if my teammates cleanse right next to me and give her power plague literally depends on you cleansing and there isnt a downside if you dont cleanse yeah being injured sucks and all but you can still loop her and do gens the same
Vomiting everywhere is pretty annoying, and both of Plague's chase tools are boring. With her corrupt purge she's basically Deathslinger in terms of chase interactivity and she's an m1 killer outside of that. Her vile purge isn't too bad I guess. Not being able to use your healing perks or medkits is extremely annoying though.

Why would I want to make it as stressful as killer? I would rather it be a little more intense, but note stressful, and killer made less stressful but also still intesne. Like killer is wayyyy too stressful, I don't want to inflict that on the rest of the game.
How is killer too stressful, and how could stress be reduced?

Sure they can be skilled, but the level of skill to be the best survivor versus the skill to be the best killer, and the difference in returns that gives, is massive. It takes less skill for way more returns on a survivor then a killer. And while its true that the power role should not be infalliable...the killer is not the power role. The survivor is. (Though it shouldn't be.) And that is a fundamental flaw in this game that is exacerbated by SWF, even groups of two can be a problem with the right synergy. The other thing is the vast difference in play. Killers must constantly be doing things, moving, thinking, planning, reacting. Dealing with ######### hurtbox 'dressing' (Autoaim). The survivors just need to chill on gens and react. And with voicecomms it only makes all of those problems worse.
How would you make survivor as stressful as killer? Make skill checks painfully hard? Make generators take extremely long? Make tunneling even more viable? Would love to hear your suggestions.

Except it wasn't a strategy until BHVR made survivor hitboxes smaller, so that negates your argument.
Back in the day there wasn't ANY strategy. The game wasn't optimized silly.
-
Blehhh...you might've had a valid point if you didn't fall back to the old reliable "looping is stupid" logic. Plus, looping would still be the most efficient strategy even if it didn't give survivors bonus distance. It allows them to convert their extra distance into time before gaining even more distance.

which they are already doing but yet we are getting killer shortages and doest address the issue of 4man swf or even three man to a degree if we arent going to do the reduce action speed then wouldn't it be fairer to actually put a limit on how many friends can be in a party that way the game wont be broken that is caused by a 4man swf group i would say a two man swf limit is fair on solos and killers.
They're doing it but not done.
-
@MegMain98 said:
What is there to fix about Spirit when she’s not broken?
Powerful? Yes. Overpowered? Not by a long shot. Of course Spirit can deal with MOST survivors (if the Spirit player is good) because she’s a strong killer, but if you play Spirit for an extended period of time you will find out that you cannot win every match no matter how good you are. If the survivors are efficient and split on gens and have a good set up then you will lose just like with any other killer no matter how quick your chases are.
Sure you might think she is unfun but that is completely subjective. People have varying opinions. Doesn’t make her overpowered or broken though.
It’s annoying how people claim Spirit is “easy” and how she is “training wheels” because she’s really not.
What about Spirit requires special skill or dedication. She's literally just put on a headset and rock and roll.

But you can see the problem SWF brings to the game that was designed around 4 solo players which was the original concept so if you believe increase gen times(or in op case decreasing action speeds bar vaulting) is not the answer how would you look into making the game more fairer for all sides.
Bring solos to swf level through information tools like a communication wheel, make chases a bit shorter, make patrolling gens a bit easier. Game fixed :)

That does not make sense this is SWF we are talking about so they would have communication and would be able to organise for example "C: killer is chasing A can B go on Gen 1 and work on that while A try and delay the killer as much as possible" there has to be a drawback to SWF it cant be having very strong advantages with NO negatives and at the moment unless the devs can think of something better i strongly believe what OP has put is the best suggestion
We weren't arguing about anything you just commented. We were arguing about how fun it would be if gen speeds got increased.

First, where do you get entitlement from?
Second, 'tunneling' is a blanket statement, which I attempted to break down. You attempted a bit of a red herring by throwing in gen rushing. If you're going to try that, at least break it down and link them in some way that can be discussed, instead of dipping into the name calling.
What name calling? What red herring?
I got entitlement from survivors who say stuff like "Eww filthy TUNNELER!" when they run into the killer after they get unhooked.

Thought about that but speed limitor actually cancels the downside. My thrid option was to completely disable the stuns when he hits an object (walls for example) but he has a cooldown after using his chainsaw (I call it overheat) based on how many seconds it was used (for example if it was used for a second it has a 0.5 second delay, if it was used for 15 seconds it has a 7.5 second delay). What this is, basically, is that he is ready to hit after he's done chainsawing. He will chainsaw around the map and when he is done he has a free m1 or he can wait to use m2. If you just cancel your chainsaw instead of bump into something it won't change anything, you'll get the cooldown and do the animation. If you bump into something you just won't have a stun and you will be able to continue normally (the chainsaw sprint tho will stop)
How does speed limiter cancel the downside???

okay just assume i never played survivor just cause my username lol so let me ask how is it fun to power gens in less than 5 minutes (i wish i was joking but it can happen) the main fun i would argue is the chasing and trying to escape the killer but the killer cant do that in less than 5 minutes especially against SWF the changes that OP are suggesting will make it harder for SWF but considering the advantages SWF have i think thats a fair tradeoff and i do believe it would make the game more fun and more rewarding then just being a repair gen simulation.
Making survivors have more time on generators doesn't just make more time for chases, it also gives more time on generators.

@Rivyn said:

Tried to connect two different terms? Gen rushing is separate from tunneling, because it's based on maps. You can't tell me the unhooked survivor with BT that runs up to the killer in the hopes of being smacked for sprint burst, yet screams tunneler when the killer waits out BT, is in the right. Or the survivor that goes Urban Evasion near the hook they were recently rescued from, and cries when the killer finds them and smacks them.
I did say there are actual tunnelers out there. Some is just on the killer being a douche, others when it can be needed. For instance, if a low skill killer is placed against three far better and one equivalent. If he can't catch the other three, he's going to focus on the one he can. Still tunneling, but it can be taken case by case.
I'm not trying to tell you entitled players are right, just the opposite in fact. I didn't try to connect the terms, I made a statement just the way you did. I made it a blanket assumption and focused it on a particular set of people. If yours is acceptable, so is mine.
