Because I enjoyed this game drastically more in the past before a lot of the killer buffs and map reworks. And yes I did play killer for awhile but I got bored of it after the tenth game in a row where I killed everyone before the final gen, switched up to scratch mirror myers after that and it was fun and I did actually lose a few games playing like that where I only got like two kills.
Either way your argument is simply wrong, in the past killers were much weaker but people still played them. And sure I'd take killer bots at this point. I think it would be genuinely more enjoyable to play since it would improve variety of killers and builds since you can see more than the same four or five killers every match.
Like… dude, I'm sorry but when there's tons of killer mains that are getting thousands+ winstreaks there's no real argument that can change my mind that killers are not broken and are in need of serious rebalancing., I'm sorry but when there's tons of killer mains that are getting thousands+ winstreaks there's no real argument that can change my mind that killers are not broken
You mean those 2 players, who managed it only on 2 (Nurse and Blight) specific killers?
It's very funny to claim all killers are broken, because of 2 actually strong killers.
So because there were SWF that go to 500+ streak then gave up, it should mean survivors are broken too, no?

the goal of the killer is to kill.
Lorewise, it's actually not.
But also, this kind of argumentation didn't fly for old hatch, so why should it fly here?
Alright, let's rephrase it.
Killing a survivor is an excepted outcome.
Which is true with targeted 60% kill rate...

Stopping the effect after finding the first survivor makes a lot more sense than how they chose to nerf it. I've been running Darkness Revealed a ton this update anyway, seems like people are trying out Iron Will and the new Lara perks, so they're too busy to put in Distortion.
It's a bit sad how almost all good info perks are aura reading now. I mean, in this very last update, two aura reading perks were buffed, and 3 knight addons were reworked to provide aura reading. How about adding a killer instinct perk, or loud noise notification perk? It's really no wonder Distortion is a top 10 perk when almost every good info perk is aura reading anyway.
I think devs stated they want killer instinct to be related only to killer power / add-ons.
Idk why they don't use loud notification more for perks. That's actually way better than screaming and don't annoy survivors that much, because it doesn't work with DMS.
Alternative would be a reveal system as rancor has.
I don't know why they have need to put aura reading on everything. It's better as an effect for many killers, but it also makes Distortion an ultimate hiding perk.

The perk has a 60 second cooldown now, not 30. It used to be active for 30 seconds, then a 30 second cooldown, so still about 60 seconds between screams but you get the idea. The info it gave was stupid and I think the nerf was warranted. I think it's a reasonable perk now, but Darkness Revealed is way higher value unless you're up against Distortion.
It's terrible perk unless you have reason to open lockers regularly anyway, but Darkness Revealed is way better and more likely to give you some value.
Ultimate weapon went from most reliable information perk to least reliable information perk.
It's often simply waste of time for most killers to go out of your way, open locker just to find out noone is there. It's bad Whispers in reality.
All they had to do was stop the effect after first scream, but they had need to nuke it instead.
UW was never best information perk for most killers except top tier killers, who can get downs fast, but it was terrible for 110% killers...
What it was best at was finding rats. It doesn't do the job now.
-
It's simply bad approach to break meta by nerfing already working perks...
It never worked, it always annoy players, just don't...

First of all those numbers don't mean anything as nightlight only counts a small fraction of the community, I can tell you from experience I was running it every other game. Killers can't know who has what perks yes but they certainly had no problem downing someone instantly and hooking them again which is certainly knowingly taking advantage of the bug.
Let's actually be honest here you clearly wanted a response where I complained about other killer perks but I didn't because unlike you my brain isn't "us vs. them" addled so you went into my posting history hoping to find something and the best you could do was me being frustrated with a bug. It's extremely pathetic and you should try playing both sides instead of this killer persecution complex you have going on.
First of all those numbers don't mean anything as nightlight only counts a small fraction of the community,
So far the numbers were pretty close whenever we got to compare it with stats by devs...
I can tell you from experience I was running it every other game
Why use it, when you knew it's bugged?
And did you really try to say nightlight numbers don't mean anything because it counts only fraction of community and then try to use your personal pick rate? That means even less with that logic...

In some way, yes. It would at least be a meaningful measurement against tunneling. Because the measurements we currently have are just a joke and maybe a mild inconvenience. I mean, they buffed DS to 5 seconds and it was still bad (because 5 seconds in 2024 are not the same as 5 seconds in 2020). And even nerfed it to 4 seconds. So on that you can clearly see they dont want to have anything efficient against tunneling.
This would be something efficient, however, it NEEDS to be 100% bulletproof that a Killer who does not tunnel does not get punished. For example, I had a game where I got my first Kill with 7 or 8 Hooks (I dont know anymore, but everyone was hooked at least once), 3 Gens left. And the next Gen repaired brought the game down to 1 Gen to go and when I chased one Survivor, they got Adrenaline shortly before I downed them (which they would not have gotten without the Bug, since the Gen Count would be 1 and not 0) and in the end, it was a 2K while it would probably have been a 4K or 3K with Hatch Escape.
And there are more than enough examples that the Bug (and a potential Anti-Tunneling feature) would also affect regular gameplay.
The idea of a catch-up mechanic makes sense, but I think it would just be too hard to implement and actually make it fair and at all cost avoidable that Killers who dont tunnel get punished.
Damn, I agree with you for once. That's new...
-
Now how can you have a game like this, and resist the urge to go Nurse and slug everyone the next game?
Yeah, I get you. You need to remember the next group has nothing to do with it tho, but I know it can be difficult. You sometimes just need to take your frustration on someone...
-
Just greed pallets like crazy and learn to run loops tight.
He gets slowed whenever he shocks and it resets bloodlust, so you can spend a lot of time even on small loops.
Yeah, his hits are technically unavoidable, but the time of the chase matters and in reality his chases are not that fast.
If you play SWF, then try to get players and mainly obsession (in case of STBFL) to take protection hits often. It slows him quite a lot.

I really don't think OP's stance is neutral...
yeah I see that. You still made a generic statement that you only are respectful when you think it’s deserved.
As to gens.. we are not talking about the majority of matches. We are talking about matches that are frustrating due to tunneling one surv out very early. Which happens. It doesn’t need to happen to you or me specifically either. Also imo this includes matches where a surv leaves on first hook before even a gen gets done (which is a major complaint point in the community) - and please don’t tell me it’s deserved for the killer to win these cases no matter what. ‚Deserved‘ in a videogame is less fitting than fair a but I agree it wasn’t the best word to use from my side. You still made a generic statement that you only are respectful when you think it’s deserved.
Yeah, I think about my comments about how much OP though about the post, or about how much realistic it is...
There are people on this forum, where I always try to give constructive feedback, because I respect their opinions.
This post is not one of them. There is no effort in this post.
We are talking about matches that are frustrating due to tunneling one surv out very early. Which happens.
If I kill someone at 5 gens, it doesn't matter. This bug is unlikely to save you.
It's more punishing for killers that actually try to kill later in the game.
Even if I down someone on dead hook on 2 gens left, I can't hook and it doesn't matter, how many hooks total I have. I have to slug, otherwise I am going to lose the game for it.
I can't ever kill a survivor when gens left are even (2,4), which is highly annoying. Especially when it's not by my choice (survivor gave up).
and please don’t tell me it’s deserved for the killer to win these cases no matter what.
Those wins are definitely not deserved, but those are made by choice of a survivor, not the game.

Invocation: Nethercloak
So undetectable from Wish with massive downside. Hell no...
Invocation: Overclock
Coupe with massive downside and requirement
Invocation: Spectral exchange
Ok, this one might be actually good...
Invocation: Self sacrifice
That sounds quite good and would definitely confuse the killer.

Not really good alone, but if you are about to get broken from other invocation, why not make it better...

Well, sadly I am the type of person to give respect when it's deserved.
Well. That certainly is sad as it directly implies you think it’s okay to be disrespectful to a neutral person.
I definitely can do it with soloQ. I simply 99 gen at 2 gens left and let someone die on hook…
sorry but i do not believe you are able to do 3 gens plus another to 99 in every single soloq match.
So killers don't like tunneling, they just like survivor dead. Funny approachuhm. Yeah? That’s.. kinda the point of tunneling? To get a survivor out as fast as possible whichbmales it easier to get the others?
of course concept of ‚fair‘ is questionable. Or better: subjective. Just as your or my or ops takes. ⁉️it’s okay to be disrespectful to a neutral person.
I really don't think OP's stance is neutral...
sorry but i do not believe you are able to do 3 gens plus another to 99 in every single soloq match
Why not? You don't get to 2 gens as soloQ? Funny thing is even 3 gens are enough when 2 survivors die.
Every single match? Not really, but we usually get there more than not. Even in global statistics there is at least 40% escape rate, which means survivors often finished all gens even as soloQ, so what's so hard about finishing 3 gens? That's one bad chase for the killer in reality. Especially when you don't need to care about 3-genning yourself.
of course concept of ‚fair‘ is questionable. Or better: subjective. Just as your or my or ops takes. ⁉️
Fair would imply it's without favoritism to either side, no? While this bug has heavily one sided effect. I don't see anything fair about it.
Btw OP never mentioned fair, so that's from you.
OP said enjoyable, which is true for sure when it gives free escapes. Nothing about it is fair tho, it's not deserved.

And they didn’t say they like the bug but that the bug made some game more fair.
There is no effort to deserve respect.
there is no reason for disrespect even if you disagree. Op wasn’t insulting or throwing tantrum. Basic respect for another human being just voicing their opinion should be a given and in fact is part of the forum rules.
Then you should know, how easy is to abuse this bug...
which is why I never stated the bug should be implemented as a feature as it was. As was no one else in this thread as far as I have seen.
What exactly your "assumption" about my soloQ experience had to do with this, why bring that up?because you stated that it’s oh so easy to just push 3 gens and get another to 99 and get someone else killed. Which is not as easy in soloq. Not my assumption. Just using given info.

When did I stated I do it as soloQ, Why did you assume I am talking about soloQ?
I definitely can do it with soloQ. I simply 99 gen at 2 gens left and let someone die on hook…
The longer the bug stays, more people do it. Then it becomes standard even for soloQ.
they didn’t say they like the bug but that the bug made some game more fair.
So they don't like the bug, they just like the outcome of the bug... Makes sense
So killers don't like tunneling, they just like survivor dead. Funny approach

And guess what, I don’t have to have one to say that some mechanic would be healthy to address the issue currently in-game.
I am pretty sure the devs could come up with a mechanic that would be better than the current way and other than the bug.
But i also agree that you and other will find something to complain about. Good thing is, it’s not about just pleasing you personally.
As for the trigger - nowhere in the op is it stated that this should be the one and only trigger.

So it affects every killer. Unless you want to claim it's impossible to kill a survivor without tunneling, which would be completely different issue for the game...

How that works? Both sides have aura reading perks and I would say it's stronger for survivors.

This game should absolutely not be balanced for the small percentage of tournament players who ruin the casual gamers fun by just bulldozing them in public lobbies.
only works within the first 1 or 2 gens done
