@Shipthebread Only 2.6% of Steam players have "Blood on your face", as compared to 7.53% for PSN.
Also
Rank 1 Killer = 1.6%
Rank 1 Survivor = 2.9%.Rank 10 Killer = 3.7%
Rank 10 Survivor = 6.1%The distribution probably isn't as bad as you think it is.

Thank you!

Ah, I see you brought up the de-pip squad...such a redundant experiment. Can someone please LINK the data and spreadsheet to this 'experiment'? Like what variables they tracked? What killers they faced? What ranks each killer was?
No one ever seems to have it despite waving it around like the DBD Bible.

I'm not sure what you're on about, it's definitely a horror game & I play a crap ton of horror games. Just because we've become desensitized by it, doesn't mean that it isn't horror. The only thing that scares me after over hundreds of hours of the same game is jump scare Pig, Myers, and Hag. Even if every killer was able to one shot across the map or survivors had to see through a toilet paper roll, I think I'd be less scared and more annoyed.
If the game was still out-of-the-box scary to veteran survivor players, I think this game should be nominated for Best Game awards.
-
Pretty sure it's an extra 2k in Objective.
Personally, I think finding the hatch as the last person alive is fun.
I don't think it needs to be gimped, as it gives a killer the chance to find and slaughter that last person too.

Perhaps if the game were balanced around SWF or if there was a separate mode then the issue would be fixed. But if adjusting SWF means killing the game, imo, it isnt worth living.
The wait continues.
But they can still improve the matchmaking and lobby systems before any of that regardless. Uh... I hope.
-
Master said:A killer who wants to dodge SWF simply dodges every survivor team who joins in the same time frame. This can also hurt solo players who happen to accidently join at the same time because they are so long in queue already.
The killer doesnt care because he will find a game anyway, there are enoguh survivors out there.
A SWF button would actually benefit the soloplayers, sure it might hurt some SWF because they would only face tryhard killers who prepare for them^^
Exactly. A 30s timer won't solve that. Most dodging lobbies are over in 10s. Some people dodge players with lots of hours or private profiles. Or are in Prestige clothing, having too many items, etc.It would hurt large SWF the most. Given that most people play in SWF, I doubt it'd be healthy for the game without dodging penalties.@weirdkid5 Yep, there needs to be tailored mechanics to prevent gameplay sabotage. But making SWF second class citizens is not going to be a viable suggestion. -

Personally I don't really see the issue in tapping space once every half second.
This carpal tunnel argument is nonsense lol I've been playing button spammey games since I was 3 years old starting with Mario Party. My hands and wrists are still perfectly fine.
Some people are genetically inclined to get it. I don't have it personally, but I have had a few, young friends that do have it from playing video games. -

You are using 3rd party programms to gain an advantage. Yes you can be banned for that. The only question whether EAC detects that and I have no experience about that
Damn those filthy macro users trying to circumvent carpal tunnel. -
Adding an SWF indicator will make it impossible to get games for SWF groups.Realistically, it's not going to happen.
-
I think a tiered ready up process is a step in the right direction. It doesn't solve dodging necessarily (because a lot of killers leave within the first few seconds for various reasons beyond ping), but it will solve baitnswitches.
-
hopeless_vengeance said:All Characters will have their unique perks unlocked at level 1 in June update. He means an achievement for having a character with every teachable and base perk.I think that'd be cool. Surprised it's not in the game as it is.

@Visionmaker then make the timer 1:30 and give the Survivors a full minute to choose.
@only1biggs I dont ppst bait lmao I'm 100% serious unless I'm obviously being sarcastic or say otherwise.
Id be down with that, assuming the leaving-lock happens at 30s. No leaving after 30s pass, but swapping would be okay in the rest of the period. -
weirdkid5 said:
What the game needs to do is lock in Survivors and force them to ready up at the 30 second mark and disallow leaving and are forced to use whatever they currently have selected AT the 30 second mark. If you disconnect as a Survivor after the 30 second mark, you get hit with a 2 hour penalty. The Killer is continued to be allowed to pick his gear after 30 seconds, but also cannot leave the match anymore. This way both dodging and last second switches would be addressed. Knock out two birds with one stone.
30 seconds is too low for randoms IMO.And 2 hour penalty is excessive. Survivor dodging (?) isn't really that much of a problem. -
Remember when the same horror movie was scary the fifteenth time you watched it?No?Yeah, that's the point.
-
Lobby dodging is bad but the game needs time for players to get ready.

That button was miss used anyway. The downvote button is now left to the quote button.
Any forum that has only up, but no downvotes is kinda pathetic in my opinion.
And anyway, if you cant express your "down voting" via the button, there will always be other ways and I prefer simply perssing a button (someone pressing the button under my comment) instead of the pointless trashtalking when someone disagrees with an argument but doesnt provide any counter argument besides from "git gut" or "break the pallet"I got 70 downvotes in a single day, because i had an unpopular opinion and defended it.
I also got a ton of downvotes when i proposed a change for the hatch, which included the removal of the hatch. People would only read the first phrase of my proposal and instantly downvote. Very mature indeed. And thats a good thing.
If the majority is agains your idea, you can simply see it by looking at the votesIt might be bad too show downvotes/upvotes in the profile because some guys think they need to "collect" upvotes, gj facebook btw, but the downvote button by itself causes no issue tbh
I prefer geting an instant downvote after the first phrase instead of a generic "killer main crybaby" comment believe my idea. Leave the comments for the mature guys with rational arguments and give the kids the option to vent their anger with the downvote button

Problem is, the majority are survivors. If any proposal that would benefit killers, gets nuked. While every proposal that benefits survivors, becomes the best thing ever, then this game will end up even worse than it already is.
A few days ago, Evolve announced that they´ll shutdown the servers.
DbD does the same mistakes.Sweetheart, more than 75% of the balance feedback is killer buffs and complaints about survivors. They're doing just fine. Are you really still salty about downvotes that happened days ago? And did you really have to have _another_ personal circlejerk thread about it? Yeesh. No wonder you stay off reddit. If you gotta cry about every time you get downvoted, it'd be a daily crisis. People can disagree. Your opinions can suck once in a while. You've got to let it go. -

subreddit is more like a killer leaning (not fully killer echo chamber but it leans more in killers) than a survivor echo chamber. But most of subreddit is 60% memes, 20% gays thirsting over shirtless david and male characters, 10% artwork, and the rest divided equally among discussions, rants, suggestions and misc stuff.
I don't know what kind of person would call the sub a survivor echo chamber. Anyone who's been there over a week could see that's not true. Lol
And yeah, I listed the top threads showing just that and still got downvoted.
-
He got buffed across the table.
So.. uh, no, he wasn't nerfed because of survivor tears.
-
It was a typo... They just changed it.
-
@Brady I like that it shuts down Billy, Huntress, and Nurse. Most maps are already good enough for them. Altho I agree that it does it too well.IMO, the map set up of Lery's boosts chances for M&A Hag, M&A Myers, Doc, and Piggy. To a lesser extent, Wraith and Freddy too due to how exposed the outer corridors are. We need more of that.
-
People always say this but I recall the devs said this map (Lery's) had the worst, if not one of the worst survivor survival rate. They said this after the Game came out, so players had more than enough time to adjust.
-
-
@Runiver I admit, it's happened more than once.

-
@Terrence What is this? Go Fund Me? I only pay for products up front. 😛
-
@Runiver I don't really see the "aha, I got you" factor of a bait in that, as it seems rather pointless, but I do agree that it doesn't add anything constructive. Idk, I don't visit the steam forums much. maybe it happens more often there.
-
I'd be happy if we got more nooks and crannies to hide in. Bushes. Crawlspaces (that killers can kill us in).
Pallet skins (like a barrel maybe?). Survivor traps. More interesting drop downs. Maybe cabinets to block doorways?
The game itself is pretty barren aside from LoS blockers, lockers, and pallets.
-
@Runiver I don't really see how it's baiting, but if it lets people vent out frustration, I don't see how it's a bad thing.
@weirdkid5 Right... like how I get downvotes for saying that killer bodyblocking the basement and chokepoints isn't a valid strategy and shouldn't be allowed in the game? Surely all the survivor mains would come to my rescue...
-
@Runiver That thread's right here. http://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/2362/to-fellow-survivors-stop-being-jerks-during-and-after-game#latest
Last I checked, most of the posts were upvoted. Honestly, the self-victimization's getting old.
-
"you think that he's not allowed to create a thread to talk about his experience without 'creating toxic behavior'"
Again, toxic behavior can be spawned by venting.
You're literally saying it yourself.. Please read the full sentence that I wrote. When someone says "you're not able to smile without being happy", they don't mean "you're not able to smile".
A person who got a lot of BM during the match, might vent by insulting.
... And the guy is venting by creating a thread by sharing his experience. He is not insulting anyone. What more context do you need?
You cannot provide support to an individual without needing to scrutinize? Again, it's so ironic given that your thread is clearly a plea for pity.
-
Shame there's no badge for it.
It's so accurate and memorable. Makes me sound less pretentious than saying "omg you made an ipse dixit".
-
- Killer disconnecting only makes you lose pip in the endgame logs. When you come back, you get your pip back. It's a display bug that exists for a while now.
Not true. It depends on how the killer does it: whether hitting Leave Match or Alt+F4ing.
The pip is absolutely lost if they choose the latter, and I confirmed this with a four stack.
-
@Tsulan The OP of that thread was sharing his experience and venting... The killer in his game was baiting a negative response out of the survivors.
They're not even close to being equal. It's very telling that you think that he's not allowed to create a thread to talk about his experience without 'creating toxic behavior'.
Also ironic considering that you needed to create another thread to imply that you're being victimized.
-
@Tsulan You got downvoted because you deliberately misrepresented the point of the thread.
Also because you engaged in whataboutism. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataboutism)
Kind of like how obnoxious it would be for someone to say "BUT KILLERS R ALSO TOXIC" in the "To fellow Survivors, stop being jerks during and after game" thread.

You guys are arguing semantics. OP is correct. Too many time wasting spots exist in this game. Play killer and you'll see.Erroneously calling them infinite doesn't lend much credence to his complaint...
Another run of the mill complaint about chase perks. Not even about pallet looping specifically. Just talking about how Lithe and SB increase chase time... and somehow make loops infinite despite significant CDs...?
The post doesn't make any sense at all because the entire complaint is hinged on the idea that Exhaustion perks make pallet loops infinite and somehow erase mind gaming.. which they don't.
-
They said they got rid of them because it took too long designing different lighting for every map.
Personally, I don't like Darkest Moonlight offerings for survivor and killer. Excessively hard on the eyes to see anything.
The only map I wouldn't mind it on is the Meat Plant because it gives it an eerie feel, rather than plunging everything in darkness.
-
@Jack11803 It pretty much already is. But killers usually check gens that are loud regardless.
If it makes the gen itself quieter, it'd be a strong stealth perk.

i agree $10 is way to much for 1 skin the highest it should be is $5 in my opinion
IMO, the highest price for a quality, two piece skin should be 2 dollars. A recolor piece should be 10 to 25 cents. The price should be low enough for the individual to be able to say "my time is worth more than my money, so I'll just buy it."Right now, the price is high enough that most peoples first reaction would be "lol #########, did they add an extra zero at the end by mistake?"The point of a microtransaction is so that it's either small enough for the player to not notice money is being spent or small enough for the player not to care. This is currently neither. -
Since when was ten dollars considered a "micro" transaction?I can get behind supporting the game, but I don't support such exorbitant pricing practices.

Unfortunately most campers don't need an incentive to camp. They just do it regardless.Look at it analytically. Chase times are so high and gen times so low. If you want to kill someone, do really want to let your victim escape? I had games where I was only able to get a single hook, and sometimes when facing flashligth SWF, even no hook at all, just saying

Well no disrespect intended, but maybe you just need to get better as killer if that was the case.
Who can blame him? Camping is as effortless as hanging on the hook.Except camping is rewarded with 1/4 of the killers objective.
