Yeah it's so weak, I really wonder if survivor mains know that they can unequip this perk...

Currently the most used survivor setup I have seen is DS, BT, DH and Adrenaline. I just use SC instead of Adrenaline cuz I suck.
There was a time period where no one used BT as most high ranked killers were good enough they didnt need to tunnel.
Now survivor meta is 2 anti tunnel perks and alot of killers still tunnel.
My guess is, that killers don't feel powerful nor confident. That's why they tunnel&camp.

@GrootDude said:
@Tsulan actually we have infinite loops because of map design and one perk, how often do you even play? You should surely know about these with how long you’ve been around.
Devs said there are no infinites anymore.
I haven't seen any infinites. But then again, I mainly play survivor now.
If infinites are really back, then that's just another reason to stay away from the killer role.

Sir have you been living under a rock? DS got changed to anti tunnel perk and has counter now.
It's a really nice rock...
As I see it, DS still gets the survivor off the shoulder.
So if it's suddenly not so important anymore, why are high ranks all playing with DS?
Makes me wonder.

You’re using the “no u” argument. I am sure I’m not holding a grudge. DS is a perk used against tunneling, so please tell me, what is the problem with it?
Infinite looping is a problem and if you don’t see it then I think it is best that we don’t discuss with each other.
There are no infinites anymore.
Smart killer should switch targets.

U need to see the survivors perspective aswell. Beeing on the hook facecamped (back then when facecamping was a thing) was just straight up bs. Yeah it was funny sometimes, I laughed a lot.
But u the fun for all remaining survivors were gone. The hooked one was dead, the others kept holding m1. And there was nothing the survivors could do to change that situation.
But bodyblocking? Smack or slug, u have full control in that situation to make a decision.
I know, it was game over for that survivor. It's good that it's gone, BUT they should have solved it either by giving both sides swivel hooks or perks for that exact purpose.
Not a perkless version for survivors and a perk version for killers.
That's all I'm complaining about. That both sides get treated differently. Instead of equally.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Tsulan that player seems to have the intention to infinite loop. What is the problem with DS anyway? Stop trying to derail the topic and get over your grudge.
Are you sure, it's not you who is holding a grudge?
Where am I trying to derail?!
As I said before, that survivor looks just like someone who wants to have fun.
Maybe I should add, that DS users shouldn't complain about despicable builds.

That isn’t why I called you biased and it is childish to carry a grudge to another thread.

@Tsulan Are you back to playing again?
Or are you just trying to stir up drama again?
Because it's very obvious the difference in blocking, and the options a killer has when "trolled" by 3 survivors doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to escape. If you see all 4 survivors, guess what, they're not getting gens done
Oh I'm playing again. Mainly survivor, since I want to relax. But guess what, I encounter this body blocking quite a lot. Killer usually loses that situation.

I'm asking for fair and balanced game for all. If I was sitting here saying "game should start with exit gates open" you could say I'm only out for one side. But I'm not. Survivors body blocking the hook has PLENTY of counters. Killer body blocking the unhook prompt has 0 counters. See the difference?
The only clown here is you bro.
That's why the swivel hooks were introduced.
As I said like 20 pages ago, I'd prefer the same treatment for both sides. Either swivel hooks for survivors and killers or perks for survivors and killers.
But since you start to insult, I'll stop this discussion right here.
Have a nice day.

A smart survivor would die because they wouldn't be able to traverse from one gate to the other without me finding them or the EGC timer running out. If they run, I see scratch marks and find them. If they walk, then they are slowed down and I can just scour the optimal paths from one door to the next.
Really what you are suggesting is just not feasible if the killer plays optimally. You either get caught or the EGC timer expires.
Stealth builds exist.
I've had no problems with the gates since the change. Maybe increase the minimum distance a bit. But that's about it.
Other than that I accept my defeat and say gg to the killer.

LOL using buzzwords again? How am I moving the goal post this time?
That's like your go to defense when you have no argument dude. It's getting old. And yes if you keep doing it in other threads I will call you out on it.
My argument is, that survivors and killers get treated differently. Something is acceptable for one side, but not for the other. Killer plays alone vs 4 and should have the power role. But your solution only leads to a clown show, like this discussion.

But survivors don’t like being slugged so you aren’t playing by their rules.
Survivors ask to be slugged, killers oblige, survivors complain on the forum that this is taking the game hostage.
Duh

@GrootDude said:

So now hitting survivors and slugging is playing by survivors rules?
Slugging is now considered as taking the game hostage.
At least if I look at all the threads complaining about it.

@thesuicidefox said:
@Tsulan "So the killer chases said survivor and the others heal the downed one up."

@thesuicidefox said:

If I come over to the gate as see the lights on I will know you were just there. If I see scratchmarks, I follow them and find you. If I don't, then you are walking/crouching meaning you have to be very close. And I don't exactly need to find you, I can just continue to patrol the gates keeping a closer eye on the one with progress. You are in a losing position, there is no mind gaming the gates despite what you may think.
A smart survivor would start the gate, then leave. Baiting the killer to do exactly as you proposed and than using that time to open the other gate.
-
@GrootDude said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/499022#Comment_499022
Chase after one of them? You act like the solution is hard.
So the killer chases said survivor and the others heal the downed one up.
Killer finally downs that new survivor and the story starts again.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Tsulan yes, survivors could not do anything about this except gen rush. If survivors are Bodyblocking the hook you can drop the one you’re carrying or hit the survivors, see the difference?
See post above.
Oh btw, killer found the survivor, chased him, downed him, picked him up and now he has to waste time by playing to survivor imposed rules.
I'm still waiting for the day, that the killer can break a gen just like survivors do with the killers objective.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498936#Comment_498936
Uh... yea I know I've seen this before. Doesn't change a thing, if you are dumb enough to think you can hit 3 survivors before getting a hook then you don't deserve the hook. A smart killer would drop the survivor the moment he saw multiple survivors trying to body block.
And I wouldn't need to call out your killer bias if you weren't so blatantly biased towards killers. "Oh no survivors are body blocking the hook, this is so unfair to me!" Sorry if you legit think this way you need to get better as killer. I will drop a dude in a heartbeat when I see survivors doing this, then I have a slug, potentially a free hit or 2, and can snowball even harder.
So let's follow your logic here for a moment.
Survivors body block, killer drops the survivor, survivor gets wiggle progress (because dribbling was considered an exploit), and the body blocking survivors stay right where they are and won't run into different directions... oh wait they do.
No problemo, killer just gets back to the downed survivor aaaand the other ones go back into position.
-
@GrootDude said:

Exploit?

@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498931#Comment_498931
Possibly. However I feel like that is a very precarious change such that even a small change to escaping through the gate could swing EGC in favor of the survivor which is also bad. We don't want either side to get the freebie, we want it to be mostly balanced with killer having the slight advantage. Something like 60/40 in favor of killer. Currently it feels more like 95/5 in favor of killer. Make opening gates faster or something, and it could be 95/5 in favor of survivor.
Oh btw, they made opening the gate faster and nerfed remember me with the introduction of EGC.
-
@thesuicidefox said:

They can call it whatever they want, doesn't make it so.
But when I close the hatch on the last guy as Spirit, it DOES make it impossible for the last guy to open a gate. There is no arguing that, I've done it to so many survivors at this point that's just how it is. I kill the third guy, rush over to hatch and close it then say GG to the last guy because he has a 99.99999% chance of death. The only exceptions are 1) gates are as far apart as possible, or 2) I mess up. Both are beyond the survivors control.
Bring a key? Some planning beforehand...
But I agree with @TAG. There should be a perk that reduces gate opening time for the last survivor. Something like a reversed remember me.
-
@Peanits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498891#Comment_498891
There's a big difference there. Survivors could not force the killer to move out of the way, but the killer can hit the survivors to force them to move.
Of course there's a difference.
But that a 50kg claudette that is crouching, is an obstacle for a 150kg killer is kinda... weird.
To say the least.
I was just pointing out how face camping was not considered anything utterly dramatic, since survivors could do the exact same thing. This has changed and now the OP gets downvoted for complaining about it.
Has the killer a way around body blocking survivors? He sure has. But it requires some planning beforehand. Since he has to equip perks for that exact situation. While survivors problem was solved with the introduction of swivel hooks.
If this approach shows a certain bias, is highly debatable. But I would have preferred the same standards for killers and survivors.
Either swivel hooks for both sides or perks that help with that situation for both sides.
Not one treatment for killers and a different for survivors.
But that's just me, and I know that you have no word in balance or design choices. I just had to get that off my chest.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498891#Comment_498891
Killer can easily counter survivors bodyblocking by hitting them, even just dropping the survivor to get someone else.
Survivors on the other hand have absolutely no way to make a save if the killer bodyblocked the hook prompt.
They aren't even comparable. KILLER BIAS AT IT'S FINEST RIGHT HERE PEOPLE!
Right now I'm to lazy to link you the video where a killer hits 3 survivors in front of the hook and the survivor on the shoulder wiggles free.
So I just described the situation.
Off topic:
Could you please stop calling out my supposedly killer bias on every comment I make? Thank you.
-
@thesuicidefox said:

Slugging at least means survivors have an opportunity to make plays. If you are on death hook, would you rather I slug you and give you another chance or just kill you and you have 0 chance?
And I'm saying this all as a killer, not as a survivor.
ME... Spirit... slugs third guy...finds hatch...hooks/kills third guy...rushes to hatch...close hatch...patrol gates...find survivor...survivor dies. This is how it goes. You cannot get away from me if I do this, I've done it many times at this point. Like I keep saying, your only chance to escape out the gate in this situation is if I screw up.
But survivors already called slugging as holding the game hostage out.

THIS IS NOT A TEAM GAME STOP TREATING AS SUCH.
While it is generally in your better interest to work with others and keep each other alive, as it increases your OWN chance of survival, you are not bound to each other like other team games. Similarly, as 1 survivor there is only so much you can do. If the other 3 don't do gens and don't make saves, you get punished for it. I could do 3 gens by myself and still die because no one else did anything. Explain to me how it is then fair that I should die with the rest when I did WAY more than my share of the work? Why should I not be given a fair chance to escape, especially if I outlived the other 3?
Failing to do gens just means that not EVERYONE gets to escape. If survivors do 5 gens, ALL of them have a chance to escape. Otherwise only 1 gets a chance to escape.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498375#Comment_498375
Except that's not really what's going on. Again I could play way better than the killer and other survivors but still die because I was the only one doing gens. You're saying that I played "bad" when I actually play exceedingly well and did more than what I should have had to do as an individual. On the flip side, if killer played well then there shouldn't be 4 survivors making it to the gates. To say that a killer played well in that situation is just asinine. That is like saying a survivor that did no gens and got caught in 10 seconds should escape. And if the killer killed 3, then they have the advantage on the 4th kill, not a guarantee on the 4th kill, which closing the hatch basically does at this point.
You are asking for more slugging.
Because your idea would result in exactly that.
As others said, survivors got so used to that effortless free escape, that now they don't know what to do.
-
So many downvotes for the OP.
Meanwhile, killers body blocking the hook (aka face camping) was removed over a year ago because to many survivors complained.
Double standards at its best.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
@Tsulan "Hatch shouldn't exist in the first place."
So again, killers should get a free 4k when they actually only earned a 3k.
Do you really not see the killer biased in this statement?
Survivors played bad: hatch spawns.
Killer plays bad: teabagging spawns.
Or did I miss the update where 4 are about to escape and the gate closes before the last one gets out. So the killer gets a kill?
The losing side shouldn't be rewarded!
If the Killer played good to get his kills, that 4 kill isn't free.
If survivors played good, the game shouldn't punish them either.
Survivors tell killers to use blood Warden in order to get some kills. How about using left behind to get out?
There's no bias in my post. Can you say the same?

Have you actually tried playing nurse on mid to high ranks?
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/498328#Comment_498328
Its not though, because if survivors didn't do enough gens to spawn hatch early then fake hatch wouldn't even spawn in the first place. It's the exact same as it is now. They aren't being rewarded for failure.
The difference is in those games where survivors do enough gens to spawn hatch. That means they did the objective enough to be given a fair chance to get it.
It's a 4vs1 where one wields a chainsaw and the 4 wield deadly lightsabers.
There is nothing fair on that situation!
The EGC works just fine.
Hatch shouldn't exist in the first place. But since people would hold the game hostage, the current version is just great.
-
I think, when the killer had a bad match, and 4 survivors are about to escape, the game should spawn fake gates. Which open just normal, but behind them, there's just a brick wall.
Survivors have a 50/50 chance.
Since we are rewarding failure...
-
Killer queues will be bad for a week or two. By then everyone tested the new killer and things go back to normal.
We've seen that happen with every killer release. This won't be any different.
