  • It would be nice if it would be abused.

  • I want Flash cosmetics for trapper with lightning effects.

  • quad everything till covid 19 only exists in the books! can't hurt the old reputation!!!!

  • With rank reset and new dlc it may seem worse as some are trying it out after a small break. Maybe more people at home because of covid-19 as well.

  • The character whose perk it is should get a better version of it than is otherwise available. It their special thing others shouldn't be able to be as good at it.

  • They couldn't add more objectives at this point without changing everything. I think the best we could hope for is a DBD2 that is closer to the Friday the 13th game where you can fix a car and drive away, call the cops or kill the killer with objects to complete them being god knows where on a much larger map.

  • It's funny having a growing player base and queue times only get longer.

  • Each time you prestige I think you should get to keep more of the things you have unlocked in addition to the bloody clothing. It should also I think take 500 off the cost of things in the bloodweb each time until the 3000 bp items are 1500. As things are now I think it is more harmful to presitge than anything else.

  • if less was random this game would be easier to manage for the devs. RNG screws things up more than anything else.

  • Just make them regress.

  • I vote we hide all items and offerings

  • All that matters is that you enjoy yourself.

  • Even I don't have much trouble against Doc. I think it's because I like to go it alone to do gens so nobody ruins my sneaking around.

  • If he's holding someone hostage why not hold him hostage and not finish the game. hide with one gen left and see if you can get him to quit.

As soon as someone don't like something they want the game changed to suit them. ######### self important children growing up on the internet.

  • So cleanse ruin and you might as well not do gens at all.

Got a nice idea there but it's a bit harsh in my mind.

  • As a person who bought the game to play killer I have to say gen rush is a BS term. Survivors do gens and take down totems when they seem them. It's their entire objective. If they don't have a reason to look for totems the gens will go faster. Sometimes the rng and the direction you choose to go first can screw you but that's just how rng works. Gotta get the right perks to compensate for your weaknesses combined with the killers shortcomings to keep pressure. The most unfortunate part of the game is how it's always changing and so random in places so you can't really settle into a routine for very long. It's very much adapt or suffer.

  • catering to those who havent spent money on cosmetics and smoothing the learning curve. I get it is a business but you need returning customers to thrive generally speaking.

  • I wonder how much of the camping behavior is in response to the verbal abuse from survivors when they do well or poorly or average. What sucks is you can't take a dump on the people that deserve it you've got to wipe the slate clean each match or pass the grief along. Eventually I imagine most are going to pass it along.

  • I haven't been playing as much so rank reset I was pretty low. About 11pm eastern us time I got a quick match as a 17 killer vs 4 people ranks 1,1,3,4. Wouldn't have been THAT bad if I didn't want to take advantage and use a killer I didn't have leveled much. 4 people at the highest rank have to degrade someone that has 2 perks and is 12-16 ranks behind. I'm starting to sympathize with the face campers. If you are gonna get mismatched and crapped on no matter the situation you might as well make them angry as well without putting much effort into it. Most amusing the games been in a good while.

  • just do totems. im trash and it dont bother me.

  • Bring a tent and camp away if you like. You don't owe them anything.

  • I bought DBD to play as Freddy and I usually have a couple people tell me I'm a really good Freddy if they arern't trying to hurt my feelings and I use none of those addons.

I should start playing again but it feels like a chore IDKY.

  • It really is sad that the developers focus has become how can we get more people to buy the game, grab a little dlc and some cosmetics over keeping it balanced and fun for all. We all had to know it would eventually get like that once it began. I'd like to say I think it'll get better but it won't. People can argue that it's a business and they are just chasing money like most others would but they seem to care less and less about the dedicated fans than the I just bought this game lets get some goodies for it people. I don't even want to say I want it all to backfire because I used to really enjoy this game. Just catering to new survivors.

  • gens are the primary goal for survivors gen rushing is just something killers say to make them feel better about doing poorly.

I'll fight about it but not argue online.

Tru3 uploaded a video where a gen was made 24 seconds into the game, if that isn't gen rush idk what to tell you

one super fast gen does not make it gen rushing. Should they ignore they spawned near a gen most or all of them can work on? NO. Prove thyself, no mither, and the 2 injured gen helping perks with toolboxes and BNP all run by a SWF squad I could see as gen rushing. Never mind they are down to 1 hit downs and BNPs only work once.

The problem is a killer that realllllly wants that person they started to chase when they ignore time and whats going on around them.

  • Help for BBQ as well

  • Survivor main when I do play. Mori's are fine. Learn to evade better. Otherwise it'd be camp and tunnel but the mori gets you to a better game faster.

  • Don't even put effort into it give em gg2ez and an lol and forget about it.

  • I feel Oni encourages repeatedly targeting the same survivor unless he stays by the hook enough to be sure to hit the unhooker right away he is best off chasing them back down to fill his power. It kind of makes me want to be one of the jerks that quit when they see who the killer is which I've seen in every match with him i've played so far.

I am disappointed but not surprised.

It's highly unfair. Sure, *some* may not know about the glitch...but let's be real. If you play this game regularly, you know what's going on. Let's not pretend like every killer is doing it on accident - - everyone is all of a sudden running Agitation and Iron Grasp and going to the basement. It's not just a huge coincidence. We KNOW people like to exploit bugs to their advantage.

That being said, it's crap as survivor - - we're deranking rapidly because of killers purposely hooking in the basement. Rank isn't too important, but when you're in red ranks it sucks to derank sure to something not your fault. I'm waiting on a glitch that benefits survivors for a change, bet that would be fixed immediately!

I'm sure that has nothing to do with the tome

  • I feel ya man.

  • Lol. He thinks it isn't unsporting. It's legal but it's still a jerk thing to do. If you are THAT hard up for 4 ks go play scrabble.

  • I hate how people say just run these perks as if we know whos gonna try to kill us

  • So you don't get adept on day one means you want changes. good grief.

  • I wish we could tell people to get back over here and fix the damage you did to the gen but then I think I'm better off.

I'd support dabbing if it left you exposed and moriable for a week.

Let's break some of these down. Moving faster while not being seen is problematic for 2 reasons. It puts the power in the survivors hands to counter him. This is even more troubling for him than it is for Ghostface since it is only useful during a chase where the survivor already knows where you are. Second, it is extremely punishing for newer survivors that aren't experienced enough to run maps while looking backwards while not punishing at all for experienced survivors that do know how to run looking backwards.

The power to break through walls or attack through walls has a number of issues. I'm not part of the design team, but I feel that I can confidently say that the maps aren't designed to work that way. So in order for him to be able to break the environment, every single map would need reworked. That seems like a massive amount of time and work for a relatively small pay off. The idea of being able to attack through objects has more merit, but has it's own issues. It would still be a very map reliant power. Maps that are largely determined by vegetation for instance don't offer many objects to attack through. Certain maps it would be like having no power at all.

Having multiple weapons to switch between is probably the best idea you have. The new killer The Oni already does that though and a good argument could be made that the Huntress does as well so it isn't really original. There is enough design space there that it could be possible to work around though. Balancing would be tricky though. You can't just have a big weapon that can one shot survivors with no downside. Otherwise, why switch weapons to something weaker?

Like i said i'm no game designer and this was just off the cuff. I already stated it would be a ton of work to make that many changes to all the maps for wall breaks. I was really thinking it should be limited to thinner walls. That was just to show that if you wanted to you could come up with things that he could do that would be different and have a precedent in the films. I haven't seen the Friday the 13th movies in a long time and I had no trouble coming up with a few things.

Ghostface can have his power stopped by survivors so there is in game precedent for that as well.

lol, explain how. What does Jason do that any killer not already released do?

I think Jason could move faster when not being looked at as he never seems to run. I don't think it would be awful to implement as we already have mechanics for being seen.

There is precedent in the films for him being able to break through walls to grab or likely here hit someone close on the other side. This might prove the hardest as sso much of so many maps would need to be made somewhat destructible. I think it would be an interesting mechanic in a chase. The killer thinks you are doubling back and stops to punch through the wall. If he misses he could be mad and hit a different part of the wall in anger kind of like missing with the chainsaw.

He has used many weapons in his films so maybe he could use different weapons with a different cooldown and reach. fast ones that put a timer on becoming injured without a slow down so you can get a couple people panicked and have them scatter. Something slower that insta downs and a middle ground. Perhap he could throw his main weapon for an instadown and have to go get it or be limited to hands only.

Maybe with his rage stunning him still works but gives him a small boost of a sort.

This is all off the cuff and im no game designer.

  • This game has a very high initial learning curve. You'll have to find what you have the most trouble with in game and get the perks to compensate or try to learn from others. There is also a fair amount of randomness in the levels and every killer is different. There isn't one perfect way to play. I found that playing both sides a little can help a lot with the alternate perspective.

I'm not always great at escaping a chase but I have my moments so I prioritize stealth which can work wonderfully until you get a stealthy killer. If your on steam, even though I just swore I was taking a break for other reasons, I'd be happy to play a few with you and try to help. I don't yet have 500 hours in the game and some people have thousands so I know there are much more well informed people out there. There is a lot mindgaming and trickery involved.

I don't need stats to tell me I die more than escape but it makes escaping that much better.

Faking what way your going to run when you can be hidden from view for a moment helps buy you a lot of time. If you can get a little distance with that and use a perk that gives a small speed boost you may wind up far enough away they go elsewhere or they are determined and you keep trying. As a killer in a chase you will have to do that without looking right where you're going lest you tip them off.

I'd be happy to do a kill your friends and spend it just trying to evade you without having to worry about gens. I've heard rumor that changes are coming to the ranking system although specifics elude me.I've been batting around the idea of playing unranked kill your friends games more just for the assumed consistency. I think a big part of SWF is that they are each more likely to know who is going to go for the save.

As a killer I sometimes run 2 tracking perks to help keep the pressure on when I don't have better choices. Add to that something to help with cutting down chase time and slowing down gens and your setup pretty well. It is hard to offer much advice without knowing who you use and what perks.

  • I would like to see ranks set to each character and not reset or regress unless they prestige. I think it would make it more fair. I had this idea during a match against a P3 rank 19 Billy that dominated the swamp without ruin or BBQ against a 14, 12, 8 and 14. You get someone to P3 I don't think you should have noob ranks. There should be some cut off points on ranks or something. Blood covered people in noob ranks just seems like something dishonest is going on. With the initial learning curve to this game before you feel like you have a chance I think it can be very discouraging to people that aren't well on their way unlocking perks. Maybe have some overall rank progression to keep people from keeping one or two killers at a lower rank just to screw with survivors more.

I imagine the internal testing would be a nightmare and a half but it could help people decide to stick with it until they can adjust to the highly random nature of things.

  • Just make no mither activate on your first hit instead of always on. Don't start broken but if you get hit you stay that way. The killer won't know there is easy hook bait from the start.

  • I like to toy around with them. Get some BP. If they don't try to be toxic by the end there is a good chance 2 of them can go free but if they make it so I don't have to try I might get a couple kills instead of 1. If they unhook themselves i'll let em go but its the entities guess if they walk or crawl.

I had a 3 game series a while back where 1st game 3 quitters and a killer only eager for my blood, 2nd game was the same including the killer and its player. 3rd game was better though only 2 quit. I didn't play for a couple days I took it as a sign.

  • Untitled Image

I would main this SOB day 1.

  • 5 of 7 games a survivor quit so early they couldn't have decided the game was going to be a bust. 1 of the other 2 the killer quit but I think that was a legit problem as he has two downed by hook. Unless he was going for the 2 in the basement challenge he had no reason to DC. He did have the perk for it. I don't for an instant think there is anything enabled to address disconnections.

Dead Hard most often will not work but triggers notifications as if it did. Should be changed to Fall for Pity until fixed.

Makes a person not wish to play and all i wanted was to work on the tome. At least I didn't give any money for the pass yet. I'd be getting buyers remorse more than I already am.
