I'm disgusted by this as well... His new add-ons are SOOO BAD that only 2 of them are worthy of something, the rest of them are completely useless...Even Nurse has more viable add-ons that can actually help her, rather than the new Billy's ones.
And his new power: easily one of the worst in the game at the moment, you have no more reason to play this killer when you have more viable options that are more fun and can win you a match more easily...
If 95% of the population on forums and the streamers say the new changes are bad and you will release Billy in this state, then no offense, you deserve a huge amount of backlash for that, devs!
Make up your minds and think wisely if you wanna release this mess of a killer on live or just let him be the way he is now and just change his add-ons or add a few new ones to the current rostrum he has...

That reminds me, I still haven't given Pyramid Head a fair shake for adept. He's just an M1 killer that skips carrying people to the hook and has a short ranged attack. What could possibly go wrong?
At Pyramid Head I decided to do the adept as soon as the killer got released, before the survivors would get used with it and if you get the new map when a new DLC comes out, even better!
I'd suggest you to try and adept new killers as soon as they come out, that's when you have the highest chances of doing it. It took me only 1 match to do the adept, on the very first try on the new map!
-
I'd honestly balance the game so that games are more oriented towards a 3/1 ratio, so that you can feel killers have the POWERFUL role in the match and that survivors need to work HARD in order to get out, and even if they don't, they would often black pip or pip decently even if they die, if they did a reasonable amount of work in that game...
I'd feel it would be more enjoyable on both sides as it is at the moment!
-
Your best possibility would be to de-pip until you reach yellow ranks, it would be fairly easier to get a merciless killer match there and you won't need all emblems to be iri for that to happen...
This is what I did and as a noob purple rank-killer I have all the adepts except the Chainsaw brothers(funny enough, they are getting reworked xD)
-
Seriously, in my opinion he shouldn't have been touched at all. He was perfectly balanced in terms of his power, maybe a slight change in the add-ons, but that's pretty much all they should've changed about this killer.
I am not a Billy main, heck I barely know how to play Billy as a killer, but I think other killers should've deserved a bit more attention than Billy. And one exemple is Myers... In my opinion his power is severly outdated and therefore I believe he is a killer that deserves more attention than Billy does at the moment...
-
Well, Pyramid Head has just entered the "bottom tier killers" group chat with this change. He was quite decent up until this change, now he's terrible...
-
LOL such a garbage Add-On, if the rest of their add-on reworks are on the same level, then Bubba has become the worst killer in the history of videogaming...
Sad...
-
Iri Hatchets + Infantry Belt Huntress and I always kill myself on the first hook. The most HIDEOUS combination this game has and it's absolutely garbage... This way I discourage the killers for using it because they don't make a lot of points and they certainly don't pip from that!
Also Mori and the game goes bad really fast is also a one hook killing myself for me... For the same reasons as above!
-
Hillbilly, Oni, Nurse(to a certain degree), Freddy(to a certain degree) and Legion - these are the 5 killers where I see the new Ruin working decently, for the rest of the killers it's simply a waste of time to use this perk...
Also, lol at the Dev saying that in half of the matches Ruin lasts till the end... I wonder why...Cause the perk is SO BAD at the moment, survivors don't give a cent trying to find the hex totem and cleansing it...The games fly by with Ruin on and nobody gives a damn about it...
-
It's easy: if you don't wanna get NOED, just cleanse all totems before the 5th gen is repaired!
If you gen rush then don't complain that the killer used NOED. I use it in almost all of my builds, it's kinda mandatory because a lot of the games go too fast, even if you apply the right amount of pressure. So NOED all the time for me!
-
Hey Devs, can I get my money back for the Pyramid Head?
You nerfed him to the ground now and this is not what I paid for...
Thanks for ruining the game even more!
Cheers!
-
I seriously don't understand where the heck are you living guys who say survivor waiting times suck...
At any time during day or night for me(Eastern Europe) it doesn't take more than 1-2 minutes to find a match as a survivor(playing solo, rank 2)...
As a killer though, unless I don't play after 9 PM in the evening, I can wait up to 15-20 minutes to find a match(rank 6 as killer) only for that match to be paired against hardcore rank 1-2 survivors who bully me 90% of the time...For that I HATE AND DESPISE playing as a killer!
If I were a developer, I'd switch the entire game to a 3 kills/1 escape rate. To be very hard for survivors to escape so that it feels extremely rewarding when you manage to escape, but not to hurt their points and be able to black pip or even pip even if you die most of the times...But for a killer to feel like a killer and have power in the game!!! *Friday the 13th* * cough * . That is a game done perfectly in terms of balance where killer actually has the powerful role in the game!
-
Solo Gen time - 100 seconds
2 ppl Gen time - 70 seconds
3 ppl Gen time - 50 seconds
4 ppl Gen time - 40 seconds
NOED should be a mandatory thing in the game if all 4 survivors are alive when all 5 gens have been completed!
BOOM! That easy! Then I would enjoy playing both sides without saying gg ez to the killer every match and without playing "Bully Simulator" whenever I turn to killer side!

Server side hit validation huh. Oh boy it's gonna be like halo 2 all over again lmao. In all seriousness though this is a really and I mean REALLY bad idea. Gonna be like when dedicated servers first came out, only for all killers and won't ever be fixed. Just imagine a clear hit on someone but you get a big fat pallet to the face and no hit, well that chase just went on for another minute and you just lost 2 more gens. Ggez baby killer!!!!
This should happen only if you have connectivity issues or something related to that. If your internet connection is spot-on it should be normal, if not then you might have some issues because you'll be punished severely...I hope I can fit into the first category otherwise I'm gonna drop killer for good and we might see a lot of people completely quitting killer-side if this happens...
-
- Trail of Torment - 4/10. It would be better if kicking the gen doesn't make the gen yellow to all survivors so that it gives you the exact location...
- Deathbound - 5/10. Not bad, it gives you the location of 2 survivors, but pretty lame overall.
- Forced Penance - 1/10. Why does this even exist?...

They are never gonna change moris to work like that. It was the prefered choice for me personally as well. Because it would have made moris fun items more than game winning items. But now that pyramid head is out. There is not a single reason why they would ever make this change. Since pyramid head himself needs 2 hooks before more. Even if the pyramid head used them because he liked that mori animation more (dope so I cant fault) it would still just feel like a massiv waste on him.
The one thing they could do about moris is limit how many it can be used on or limit it based on how far the game has progressed in terms of gens or time.
Keys.....######### keys man. Dont make 1 of them just open the hatch instantly so any number between 1-4 can just escape. Or at least give it a charge time. But at the very very least. Make them unable to spawn inside chests. I have never been so annoyed at a game as I have when 3 survivors escape thanks to plunderes instinct and luck. Its so dumb.
Well, personally, I think the probability for a survivor to find a key in a chest is lower than having at least 1 out of 4 survivors start the game with a key in the first place. And if they decide to use Plunderer just to try and find a key, it's even better for the killer, they waste a slot instead of using it for a much better perk. And it's not like Plunderer's guarantees you find a key in a chest...
-
Thank you for your opinion! Well for me these are just 2 suggestions that I would do to these 2 unhealthy mechanics this game disposes of.
Something needs to be done equally to the both of them, though, cause at the moment it's pretty bad...
-
@scenekiller @Orion I think it's better for the keys to be found exclusively in chests, therefore survivors not having a ton of them in the inventory and literally being able to use them match after match.
@scenekiller Your idea for mori would make them completely useless...I think all killers would prefer to hook a survivor for the 3rd time instead of the long mori animation the killers have, it's more time-effective.
-
The amount of people that use Self-Care in 2020 is STAGGERING...Especially at Red-Ranks...The most used perk at Red-Ranks is a perk that basically helps the killer instead of helping your 3 fellow survivors...32 seconds where you basically do nothing and help the killer find other survivors or use pop goes the weasel on gens or breaking pallets etc...And that's without Sloppy Butcher or Thanatophobia(God I love when survivors use self-care against these 2 perks...Irony...)
As a Survivor I'm literally itching my head if I see my teammates healing with Self-Care rather than getting help from another survivor which is nearby, or use Inner Strength(which is a MUCH BETTER option) or just enter the match with a med-kit and grant yourself a full fast heal, even 2 with some add-ons...
As for the killer, it's easy: NOED. It's basically the perk for killers who are not capable of playing at an optimal level to give them a pip or double pip...If you wanna become a good killer, you'd better try and abandon this perk and use this slot for another perk that can help you much more and has a better usage during the game, and maybe you will have more games where you 4k before survivors complete the last gen...I am a purple rank killer currently trying to get out of NOED from my builds and I feel this is the first healthy step in order to access higher ranks...And I've started to had quite a few good matches on killers I used to run NOED, but I'm using another perk on them now... When I see a weak killer(as a survivor) that struggles during the game, I always expect a NOED to pop out at the end...

Not really afraid, no. We aren't setting out to make the new best perk every time we add one. We've always been sure to avoid making things pay to win, of course, but we also want to make interesting perks; things that let you make niche builds, allow you to make use out of something you might otherwise ignore, or make you reconsider the perks you'd run against it.
Simply put, it's easy to make the new best perk and ship it, but that is not and has never been the goal.
We don't want you to release a new best perk every time you add new content in the game.
We want you to create perks that are worth looking at and that we can use them and say: ah-ha this one is useful or I can make a good combo with another existent perk. Sadly, no...The new perks are so bad that you won't even bother looking at them for one second because you know how bad they are.
Let's take the last 3 killers that you released: Demogorgon, Oni and Deathslinger. 9 killer perks. Out of those nine I'd pick 2 of them to make certain combo's, the other 7 are so bad that I turn my head away and say no, you freaking suck. And those 2 perks I'm talking about are Oni's Nemesis and Deathslinger's Dead Man Switch. And even these 2 perks I'd use them in just 2 situations:
- Nemesis with Play with your Food on Cannibal. This combo is an absolute beast for this killer. And that's pretty much the only place I find Nemesis useful.
- Dead Man's Switch with Freddy using Class Photo add-on. Another great combination. But that's pretty much the only place I find Dead Man's Switch useful.
So 2 perks out of 9 from the last 3 killers and even those 2 in 2 circumstances I find them useful. The rest of them and on other killers complete waste...
Let's move to the survivor's perks from the last 3 DLC's. 4 Survivors, 12 perks. Out of those 12 perks I can find 3 of them that are useful in certain situations: Inner Strength, Fixated and For The People. Let's put these 3 aside and see where they are useful:
- Inner Strength - GOD-like perk for solo survivors, it's an absolute blast, doesn't need any further explanations.
- Fixated - Works like a charm with Sprint Burst so that you move faster across the map but not running to trigger the Sprint Burst. Also works quite good with Quick and Quiet if you wanna be a sneaky sneak and go faster without leaving any scratch marks.
- For The People - Against killers that tend to slug, but very situational...
That's it. For me, personally, out of the last 21 perks that have been released with the last 3 chapters, 5 of them have the capability to be useful in certain situations, the other 16 I won't even bother to look at them..
And from seeing the new perks that come out with Silent Hill chapter 2 out of 6 can be useful, both coming from the survivor side: Soul Guard & Repressed Aliance.
- Soul Guard is basically a weaker version of Borrowed Time, but it works against killers who slug, which is great!
- Repressed Aliance can stop a generator from regressing if the killer has Ruin and you have to go for a save, or if the gen is almost done and you want to prevent Pop Goes the Weasel from being used(although a lvl 3 Pop has a 1 minute duration, while Repressed Aliance has only 30 seconds of blocking the gens, leaving 30 seconds open for the killer to use Pop on a gen...Good killers will know how to speculate this).
And that's pretty much it, add new perks that are WORTH of using in a way or another, not a new best perk with every chapter...I miss the old times when every new killer and survivor had at least 1 decent perk that you'd be looking at and you would take into consideration when playing survivor/killer...
-
I will never ever P3 any killers unless I have no other options to spend points on, but that may not be the case...I'd rather have all killers P1 lvl 50 with all perks lvl 3 than having some bloody clothes + there are a ton of new skins much better for many killers...
-
A question if someone knows the answer:
Blood Pact's Haste status effect, what is the movement speed that you have during those 8 seconds? In numbers I mean? 110%? 115%? 150%?(like Sprint Burst or Adrenaline) It doesn't specifiy this anywhere and I'd like to know the exact speed you get as a survivor during those 8 seconds while Haste status effect is activated with this perk...

It then requires you to use iron will to not get caught, and possibly quick and quiet and dance with me, just so it doesn't punish you for being overly altruistic.
Iron Will is also a standard for me and my friends, and is one of the best survivor perks in the game in my opinion, the other 2 you don't need them, you can have Sprint Burst or if the killer comes fast at you, you just run away from there!
-
We'll make it definitely needs to be higher than OK. It is a great perk that often makes the difference between healing a survivor fully before the killer comes back or leaving him injured and at risk of being downed again in 1 hit.
It's a standard in my build and my friends's builds as well(red ranks) and it has definitely proved it's worthy!
-
Playing as a killer in this game is the ultimate bully simulator if you're not very good at it and you're faced against SWF Red Ranks...I, myself, find easily in this category and it's a shame I payed for this game and all it's DLC's and I enjoy half of its content, cause the other half brings me so much pain and suffering I'd rather not play it at all.
I seriously hope Dev's pull their s**t together soon or another serious assymetrical game comes out on the market to abandon this lobby simulator disaster, but since then, I am stuck to enjoy half of the content this game has to offer(the survivor side). Friday the 13th was so much better, it's such a pity it was hit with licensing issues and other stuffs, cause it definitely had much more potential than this game!
-
@just_a_noob said:
that’s not even the worst. I was playing in a SWF tonight and we got a rank 20 killer. I felt so bad for them after the game I went to message them but couldn’t because of their settings so ended up sending them a friend request just so I could apologise. They were playing as nurse which is hard enough but to get red ranks in your lobby when you’ve obviously only just started playing the game.
The bs matchmaking is a good way to make new players hate the game.
Oh my God, I thought it couldn't be worse than my experiences, but it definitely can...
-
@RareOmen said:
Yup, matchmaking is broken. Rank 1 killers going against Yellow ranks, it's not fun. There are numerous threads already, devs probably won't fix it until more people start to delete the game.
They need to wake up and do some changes to it!
I am very pleased that they are doing all those changes to the maps(let's hope they didn't overdo it) to make the game more balanced, but they definitely need to address the matchmaking issues as fast as possible and come up with a solution...
-
CJ46 this thread is a joke and I find you funny as well...*laughs in killer mori*
-
xD I wished I would see that many in a day, I like to play against him and as him as well, although he kinda lacks map pressure, but it's fun spearing those survivors xD
-
Thank you!
I am not fond of Plague either, playing against her negates my Iron Will if I'm infected, and playing with her just doesn't feel rewarding at all..
Deathslinger is still at a decent pick rate, it's still fresh, I don't know how long that will last!
Doctor has been on an up-hill path ever since his rework! He was somehow helped by his missions and story in the Rift as well, but not as much as his rework. Wonder how long that will last!
-
Well I've tracked every killer I've encountered in my past 1200 matches(not considering matches where killer dc'ed early or the game didn't start at all) and the one I've gone against the least is Hag, with less than 30 encounters. So for me it's Hag, which is a shame, cause it's a killer I used to play alot as sometime ago...
-
I may have an extremely stupid question to the OP, but when you say 46% DS usage rate, it means 46 survivors out of those 100 had DS in their build, right?
Or am I extremely dumb?
-
@Peanits said:
From what we've seen, it's caused by low settings. Increasing it to medium for the time being should help (might only take effect next time you load into that map).
So that means if I play on low settings to have the best FPS experience on my PC would put me at a disadvantage and make the map darker for me?
That's terrible and I hope that is not the case...
-
I'm gonna go with The Pinhead!
-
Solo gen-time: GOOD!
2 or more survivors gen-time: absolutely BROKEN!
Toolboxes: BROKEN!
Those 2 mentioned at broken should get a nerf ASAP!
-
I'd like to see what do you include in your stats from your matches. I have for my own some stats as well, some basic stats regarding what killers I encounter every match!
I've currently tracked over 1000 consecutive games(games when someone DC'ed at the start did not count) and noted the killers I played against. If you'd like my results I can post them here. All matches were played from Rank 11(after Rank reset occured) up to Rank 1(most of the games were between Ranks 2-5)!
-
Recently I remember a very strange one, idk if the weirdest one, but close to it:
I was playing Huntress on a Swamp version map and I double checked all 7 generators at the start of the game and none of them has been touched, I ask myself what is going on, then I spot 4 Bill's dressed the exact same way creating a chain, all of them moving on crouch... I genuinely laughed so hard when I spotted them, but didn't let them enjoy their trolling, they told me post-chat they wanted to open as many chests as possible(possibly for a mission), but I really needed some points and a pip at the moment, so, sadly for them, I spoiled their fun...
But I had fun, though! xD
-
Love to play against: Nurse, Spirit and Pig.
Nurse, because I rarely encounter her and I'm pretty good at juking her, or the Nurse killers I am playing against are bad. xD
Spirit, because of Iron Will in my build!
Pig because I think it has one of the greatest mechanics in this game(alongside with Freddy) + I love Saw movies, so that adds as well!
Hate to play against: Ghostface, Hillbilly and Huntress
Ghostface - Broken as HELL!
Hillbilly - I can't juke any Hillbilly's properly
Huntress - Hit boxes of the hatchets are BROKEN as HELL! I can't count the number of times I've been hit without being a proper fair hit!
Love to play as: Spirit, Freddy & Ghostface
Spirit - Because it's a powerful killer, Spirit, duh
Freddy - Because it has so many stuffs in his package that you can use and they are all really helpful!
Ghostface - Because of the same reason as hate to play against, but this time for the survivors that face me, he's broken as HELL, but broken as HELL meaning it's flaws are in my favour, not survivors ones...
Hate to play as: Hillbilly, Nurse, Oni
Hillbilly - I am not confident with his chainsaw movements and need to practice more in order to get better, but I really hate to play as him!
Nurse - Insanely hard, don't have the time and patience to learn her properly, also she's so broken now(in the poor way), she is pretty much useless...
Oni - I can't move properly while in Firal Frenzy, but again, it's same as Hillbilly and I need practice with him, but I still hate playing as him! Not enjoyable at all!
-
It shouldn't, I've seen youtubers using different colours for the perks and some even having the drawings of the perks reworked, if they didn't add that post-editing(talking about zubatLEL here)
-
As a red rank survivor main, Ruin has transformed from being a perk that can put serious issues into the game because of it's functionality(and the fact I sometimes struggle hitting Great Skill Checks due to lag...) to one that's simply a joke in the current state. Whenever I see Ruin, I tell my teammates oh it's Ruin, one useless perk is used, 3 other perks remained for the killer...I won't even bother 1 SECOND to search for it, since it's a waste of time...And I have Inner Strength so I usually cleanse 1-2 totems to activate the perk throughout a match, the amount of times I encounter Ruin or any other Hex is insanse, once every 2-3 matches I cleanse a Hex totem the killer has...
NOED is the only Hex Totem worth of it at the moment, because gen rushing leads to not cleansing all totems and when NOED is active and the pop-up appears on screen(when the first survivor is downed) it causes panic thoughout the rest of the survivors and from a 4 man surv escape it can turn easily into a 4 kills for the killer if the survivors do some mistakes....NOED is the only Hex perk worth of its value, the rest of them are simply a joke, even Haunted Grounds!
-
By the time I set a few decent traps with Hag 1-2 gens are done already, no matter how good you are. And I played with her just for her daily with triggering 4 traps and hitting survivors then...It took me 3 matches to do this daily! 3 matches to bloody hit 4 survivors after they triggered the trap, that's how crazy fast the matches went...
-
A bit over 600 hours in this game atm, idk if I have more than 100 hours as a killer...It's frustrating to the point you're getting absolutely sick of it. I play killer only for rituals and rarely to see how bad I am destroyed.
If you want to play this game as a killer, I definitely do not recommend it, play survivor or leave, but don't play killer, you'll get bullied in the worst possible way. And with the Ruin nerf knocking on the door we may see killer playerbase drop hard, which would shake the entire game...

Again, I don't mean to say that nothing should be done, but you can't know how much needs to be done when the supposed issue is being hidden by a perk. It's hard to say for sure. While yes, a lot of people use it, there's also killers out there who don't use it and still do just fine. Adding extra time to objectives would only stand to be a massive buff to them.
I've seen the gas suggestion a few times. I'm a bit of a fan, personally, but my only concern is that it removes points of contention from the game. Right now, if I'm not chasing a survivor, I know I can go between generators until I find someone. If I instead have to search every inch of the map looking for people who might be scavenging for gas as well, suddenly I lose my best way to find survivors.
Tell me the amount of killers that do well without Ruin(in percentage). I can bet it's lower than 20%. What about the other 80%? Getting mocked game after game without using ruin, they will eventually fed up and either not play the game anymore, or convert to survivors and then we'll have a big lack of killers in this game, thus longer games, thus dying slowly...
As I repeat, we already know gen times are a problem, this is an issue we already know, not needing you to test it anymore! Yeah, I'm losing my hope day after day with you guys...
-
@Peanits said:
We are not. We have mentioned multiple times that if something needs to change about gen times, we're happy to take a look into it. Unfortunately we cannot do that when 80% of red ranked killers are using a perk that covers it up- it makes it impossible to tell what actually needs to be done. We'll keep an eye on it.
I can swear Peanits is a bot and not an actual human being(no offense), he's been giving the exact same response over and over again...
Why do you believe red-rank killers already run Ruin? Because they ALREADY KNOW gen times are a problem, we don't need to know something which was already proven to be true so many times...
sigh
EDIT: If gen times were not an issue, I can guarantee you Ruin will be used by less than 50% of the killers, as they have a better option to pick from. Killers are literally forced to play with 3 perks because Ruin is MANDATORY!
You are literally missing the elephant in the room!!!!!
-
More competent Devs who can solve all the problems the game has in its current state.
These ones only create new ones instead of fixing the exisiting ones...
-
@Exxodus21 said:
According to Peanits they have to wait until after the Ruin change so they can see what changes, if any, need to be made. He said it's hard to fix an issue when in 80% of high rank games a perk is being used to cover up the real issue.
By the time we are waiting to see if the new Ruin is a bust or not(which is so obvious is a bust) nobody would probably play killer anymore...
-
@ReviloDBD Yeah, maybe not all of us can adapt to this type of game, my friends did it very well, one of them is even better than me actually(the guy who reached rank 1 survivor in less than 150 hours), he has around 200 hours now, I have 3 times more the number of hours than him and he loops way better than me.
I think, with this game, if you're a beginner, it is advisable you have someone who knows the game decently and you can play with until you get the basic knowledge. I, for myself, can find myself in this situation. I've bought the game in 2016 fall and played the first 150 hours pretty much by myself. In these hours, I've never managed to get higher than rank 11 as Survivor and rank 12 as killer. I quit the game for around 2 years, then last summer I rejoined and started playing seriously. Reached Rank 8 as Survivor before my pro friend joined me in fall. Then things started to change. I sky-rocketed with him and reached Rank 1 in a couple of weeks at maximum. This was when I've had about 300 hours in game. I took a look on his profile, he started the game on 7th September 2019, on 28th September he unlocked the achievement for Rank 1 Survivor. Now we both have a solid foundation to remain at red ranks all the time and enjoy the matches out there.
With the killer, on the other side, it is a different story. You're alone, you're on your own, you and your only decisions matter. And there I have some issues, as often I do incorrect decision or I rush and make stupid mistakes...And also the game punishes you much more for the slightest mistake as a killer...
Teamwork is a key element here...At least for the beginners it should be. My advice: play as a survivor with a friend at the beginning, a few good amount of hours until you have the foundation to take the journey on your own and play matches alone, whether is killer or survivor...
And you need a lot of time, there's a lot of grinding in this game to obtain all the perks at lvl 3 on at least a survivor(one is enough) and the most of the killers, if not them all...

Perhaps you are right, but thank you very much for reading/commenting!
Thank you as well to @EmpireWinner & @TheOptimiser
Hopefully this will at least gain a little more traction now so people can see what I wrote! Cheers.
Sorry I've contradicted myself, I said it's not easy to master this game, then I said how easy it was for a couple of my friends, I meant the opposite, it's not hard to master this game, my bad..
At least for me personally the survivor side was not hard to master, the killer side on the other hand, I'm struggling massively out there, but at the moment I still lack some perks on most of them, which is understandable...
-
I agree and tbh it's not easy to master this game, Survivor sided at least!
In September I convinced a good friend of mine to join the game. It took him 140 hours to get straight to rank 1 from not knowing a dime about the game, just by playing with me(a constant Red-Rank Survivor)...And devs complain it is too hard for new survivors, Jesus Christ, give me a break!
Another friend of mine, whom I convinced to join as well, managed to Rank 1 killer from Scratch in maybe 300-350 hours? He currently sits at Rank 2 survivor and soon will reach Rank 1 Surv as well...
It's ridiculous, after a couple of hundred of hours you can be at top on this game and just demolish new players, and Devs say the Ruin is too harsh for new players...*rolls in sarcasm*...

If you play at rank 1 survivor, then how much does ruin actually affect you? Do you just plow through ruin or go looking for the totem? If you just plow through it, then you see why the Ruin change doesn't affect you. If you go looking for the totem... Well you can still do that, once you touch a gen for a second, and stop you'll see if they have Ruin. So.. basically nothing changes for you as survivor.
You rarely play killer... So why does it matter? Just for the odd time you do?
BOOYAH!!!

People should look at it differently...
Maybe the Devs want to see how things go in Live.
Maybe there is other ideas they have to go along with the Ruin change, but are holding back to see how the first change goes.
I will still go hunt the totems cause I use Inner Strength in my main build, so I am a totem hunter, and yes, Ruin does affect the games quite a bit if not found early, even at red ranks, I am not an amazing player at hitting Greats(I hit about half my Skill-Checks greats) and doing multiple people on a generator with the current Ruin is not advisable, because 1 player is enough to hit a good skill check and then everything may go downfall from there and the gen repair to take some time.
It will affect me hard. The amount of killers who may drop their roles is not good, which means higher queue times, which means the probability to be paired with a green/purple rank killer to be higher and that killer be destroyed that he will never reach red ranks, we will see an even bigger discrepancy between the number of red rank killers vs red rank survivors etc. etc.
And to answer your question, my current killer rank is 12 with 1 pip, never been higher than rank 9 as killer, as a survivor I'm red ranks for months already(over 600 hours in the game)
