Stop ignoring the fact that many people out there obviously tolerate the end game chat because they realize 2 things. 1. It's not as bad as you think. 2. There is only so much the mods can do. You sound like a broken record at this point
People shouldn't be thrown racial slur's and told to kill themselves, back to back, over and over again, day after day (including by the same people). Then take a break for 1 to a few weeks, and immediatly the first game back it's the same thing again. Since I started to follow this game during the Freddy Release, and since I started playing from the Demogorgon release - I have only seen the toxicity of the game get worse and worse, and not enough steps are being taken to curb it, or even try to cut it off at the bud.
The victims shouldn't be forced to close chat, when they simply just want to enjoy a casual game.
The only people who sound like a broken record at this point is the ones who keep making dismissive comments for this very big issue.

Wrong my friend. To many, the game is competitive; it is one side against another, hence it will always be competitive. Furthermore, I don't think you understand the reward system. If you do poorly in a match you depip. It's an incentive to not just mess around the whole match. If you do, it won't be without consequences.
While it's not cool for people to be insulted over a game, multiple people have given you a simple, viable solutions.

I get a chuckle out of it when people get so angry over a game they resort to petty name calling. It shows that I won on two levels. Then I move on with my day knowing the anonymous antagonist can't hurt me.
Stop dismissing obvious untolerable behaviour.
-
The people saying;
"It is how it is"
"Just take a break"
Do you even realize this is a casual game? It's not meant to be competitive. The game is entirely based on a reward system, that you're supposed to feel rewarded regardless how well you do. People being rude - to the extent of using deragatory terminology, and even telling people to kill themself shouldn't be allowed to happen in the game. Period. The bad manner's alone takes away the reward aspect from the game, and turn's the game competitive and a terrible experience for everyone involved.
So get out of here with your dismissive [badword].

Just to make one thing clear, we already have zero tolerance for extreme insults (e.g. racism, homophobic slurs, telling people to kill themselves, etc.). These people do not get warnings, they are banned without any hesitation. We have always acted on these sorts of reports. The issue is more so that there is no feedback on the reporter's side when action is taken: You don't get a message in-game letting you know that someone you've reported was banned.
Odds are if you've reported someone for that sort of thing, they were most likely banned shortly after.
Shortly after? Which is why we still see the same names weeks and months after reporting them.

Boring, but a reason to keep playing the game.

If it wasn't for Tru3 I wouldn't even know how to play the game to begin with. Both sides. Though I think the main reason why Tru3's fanbase looks like they are so Killer sided - is because the game itself is heavily survivor sided.

Is that why I havn't been able to see survivor's with BBQ?

Yes, but 99% of survs aren't 4 SWF death squads, and we're dead 3 of 4 times. But yes, you can balance trapper to 4k a death squad SWF at rank 1. Don't worry about anyone else
That's a lie. Even worse with the new MMR system they are putting in. When you do so well with a specific Killer the matchmaking system is going to reach a point where it will ONLY put you VS 4 man death squads. Also the game isn't even balanced to win solo as survivor, you NEED at least 1 teammate to face most Killer's - so most players play with friends.

Yeah Hillibilly was one of the least I used personally. I'm not going to lie and say he wasn't a strong Killer at all. Lol you guys and liking to try and zone out on one thing said to disprove an entire thread - it's laughable.
Hillbilly was strong yes, but he certainly wasn't over exceeding expectations. He was doing what he was designed to do, and was doing it right. It was one toxic famous streamer that said he's OP, and then the Dev's nerfed him because the streamer was a BHVR fan favorite.
What needs to be considered is nerfing the strong Killer's as well. Then what will players have to use against 4 man SWF death squads in high ranks? That's right, they won't have anything.

This too was one of the dumbest changes i've seen. You realize how many items you break, especially after the update with Franklin's demise? So many. Like litterally I couldn't use items against killer's running Franklin's. Now that I know my item will still have charges. That makes me more likely to go back and pick it up - faster.

It's far more important to get per-Killer MMR into the game. In order to match Killers with Survivors appropriately according to the skill level the Killer player has with the selected Killer, we must lock the Killer selection in the lobby. Otherwise, switching Killer would require booting all the Survivors out who don't match the newly-selected MMR for that Killer.
Yeah it makes sense. I was just being worried because Survivor items are an extremely powerful tool in the game for survivors, and the character selection during the campfire was a part of the strategy and tactic to counter that.
If the change doesn't pan out, for example dev's find that killer's are leaving lobbies too often making it difficult for survivors to get into games (which probably won't happen). Possibly think of the idea of allowing players to change to Killer's they have a lower MMR with. What I mean. Say I que with Ghostface (being a Freddy main). I hardly ever use Plague. IF I get into a lobby (campfire) with a group of survivors all running med kits. I can change to Plague because my MMR/Skill rating is lower than it is with Ghostface, but I can't switch to Freddy because my MMR is far superior than that of the survivors.
This way players are not abusing the system to just go low MMR characters to face easy players as a Killer they pratically perfected, but at the same time keeps the stratagem mechanic of the game so Killer's are less likely to just keep dodging lobbies that doesn't fit the Killer they've chosen (I.E. Going Oni and seeing a team of med kits, or Hag VS a team of toolboxes). Also again allows Players to change to a Killer they have lower MMR with but room to use Lightborn VS a team of flashlight user's.
It's also the Killer player who is deciding to play a character they are less skilled with VS a team that may be a much higher skill than they are with that character. Leaving a warning message on the side of the screen warning Killers they have changed to a Killer with less MMR and may expect to be outskiled by the survivors they are facing would be nice.
The app on PC that allows survivors to see the Killer though, is another whole problem entirely that would defeat this idea as well.
Sorry if my description is confusing. I am sometimes not good at describing my thoughts on paper (screen).
-
@Peanits said:
It's mentioned in the patch notes, but switching killers while queuing is disabled in preparation for the upcoming matchmaking system. You'll have a separate rating for each killer, so you'll be locked to the killer you have selected when you start queuing.
Was any of the issues people seen with this change brought forward? Being able to change Killer's was an extremely big part of the balance of the game, like game changingly so. For example you get into a campfire as Killer and see everyone running med kit's. So you switch to Plague, or you see people running flashlights - so you switch to a Killer that you have room to use Lightborn on. I even know of some streamers that would go stealth killers when they see players with a lot of toolboxes, because a survivor focusing on gen's made coming up on them unexpectedly even easier.
Idk, this decision seems like it's going to come with a few big drawbacks. Not like game crushing, but like a mosquito annoyance. Possibly even have players leaving lobby's simply because they don't want to face a full med kit team with their Oni.

I know the thematics as to why its a weak perk, i've read about it up on the wiki so i know what it does. What I'm asking is why does it have to be a weak perk.
It probably doesn't - BHVR doesn't want to buff it becauase you can synergize it well with other slow down perks. They could remove the obsession mechanic, and buff the slow. Then it would be balanced. While restricting the ability to stack slow down perks.
-
I want to see a Mimic killer. I think that would be really cool, like it can take the form of a survivor in the map, and then go and interact with generators, ledges, and windows like a survivor. Can crouch, jog, and run at the same speed of a survivor. Can't drop pallets, or search chests. Can't save people from hook. It doesn't repair generator's, but it looks like it is. Then when it's ready to strike at the push of the button can turn into the creature, and attack survivors. It can't attack while in the form of a survivor.

I know that, what i want to know why its a weak perk to begin with.
I already said why, but I guess I can go more in depth; because it makes the obsession a power house, and comparitively to all the other slow down perks - they are all infinitely better than it. The biggest problem with Dying Light is that it's a moderately strong slow down perk with a huge downside. If you ignore the obsession they are going to janitor all of your hooks, and heal survivors quickly losing you a ridiculous amount of time. If you fight back against the obsession to stop this you're costing your dying light stacks - and the obsession will only want you to chase them anyways.
Comaring to a perk like Thanatophobia; when you injure all survivors you are hitting them with a womping 16% slow on their repair speeds. That's immensly better than Dying Light, and the only fall back this perk has is if the survivors are healing - which if they are healing each other than that's another 2 survivors not working on gen's. So trying to deny this perk's use is still detrimental to the survivors. While at the same time injuring survivors is easy, and slowing down or stopping their ability to heal is even easier. It synergizes well with other perks, and at the same time doesn't have a fall back for using it.
Pop Goes The Weasel - Works on any survivor you hook, and when synergized with a perk like Thrilling Tremors, or Barbeque and Chili (Surveilance, Tinkerer, etc). You can stay on top of the survivors and stop every gen they even try to complete, with each hook. Like as if you are running Dying Light, but without having 1 survivor immune.
Dying Light literally kicks itself in the teeth for benefiting a survivor, as any good survivor will simply use the perk to it's advantage and bully you. Denying your use of the perk, and losing one whole perk slot is devestating to the Killer int he current meta. When you could of just used Thanatophobia, and got more for your buck, and been more consistent.
Also if you don't run any perk that makes a survivor the obsession, then if you're against a team that doesn't have an obsession - then you know none of them have Decisive Strike.
-
Because it's a weak perk, that's hard to stack. Since once you realize the Killer has Dying Light - then the only survivor you're going to find from that point on is the obsession.
-
I used to give hatch when I first started playing, but the toxicity of the survivor base has brought me to the point where I always slug to deny the hatch. At first I felt bad for doing it, but now I really don't care - no matter what the survivors are always going to bm the Killer, and BHVR isn't going to do anything about it, so if I can ruin their gaming experience, then my job is done.

I play killer with one hand. Seriously, my mouse has multiple keys. I just remapped W and S to one of my mouse keys and I played killer while having my smartphone on the other hand. Pretty chill ngl.
My mouse has 22 key's on it alone. You must not be very high then if you have a "chill" time playing killer when you have to track 6 things at once and all 4 survivors have to focus on 1 button, moving, spatial awareness, and running in circles. As killer you are focusing on all that, and timing, distancing, positioning, forethinking, and tracking 4 people (survivors just have to track 1 - 1 that creates more noise and visual notifications, and is bigger).
It's literally comparing a nightmare to a warm ocean breeze.

I dont remember mentioning whether which side was weak or not but nice strawman argument. Everything you just typed was irrelevant to my actual post so I'm gonna leave it here.
Sure. Here you go;
After using this forum for some time the amount of killer bias here is insane. Any thing that even slightly benefits survivors is looked down upon. I think the main reason for this bias is do to the fact that in the past survivors were op but nowadays they arent that strong.
The reason for that is simply because in the game right now Survivors are far too powerful, for a multitude of reasons that isn't only summed up to SWF.
But because of the effects of 2016-rarly 2018 real survivor problems are ignored and that's not good. If we continue to ignore problems survivors face the player base will decline and the killer wait times will increase and inevitably the game will die.
We will never see a decline in survivors. As right now the game is being kept afloat by the survivor base alone. BHVR has been dealing with an issue that the Killers have been leaving in masses, so much to the point where they reworked the matchmaking twice to try and save newer Killer's from getting in games with 4man swat teams. Like I find it funny you answer me with "nice stawman argument", but you have yet to even mention any argument at all other than "Killer's OP, Survivors Weak, Please Buff"
Killer mains stop looking at survivors as someone out to ruin your game and look st them as a human wanting to have fun playing too.
Survivors stop looking at Killer's as an NPC, and start treating them like humans that want to enjoy the game too? I'm not seeing where you are going with this post, when even in addition to the game being unbalanced in the Survivors favor, but there is even a huge problem where Killer's are being verbally harrassed after each match - win or lose. As far as being told to kill themselves, and the entire list of deragatory terms. This past month alone I have sent in over 30 support tickets Survivors calling me the "N" Word alone.
I'm tired of the us vs them mentality why cant it be just "us." Why can't we look at all the problems as a whole and work to fix them. I ask killer mains and survivor mains alike play the opposite side and get good at it try to understand their struggles.
Literally threads like these further spread the "Us VS Them" mentality. When players for months have been saying Survivors are too strong, and Killer's need a buff - hell they are currently working on reworking EVERY SINGLE MAP in the game, to make them more Killer sided. To be more fair. You started this whole thread off on the "Us VS Them" mentality, and still have yet to make an argument that isn't just a strawman argument.
For you killer mains that say survivor is op go plag solo survivor at rank 1 and ask yourself do you want to play swf or that. For you survivor mains that think killer is op go play wraith on ormond and ask yourself is this even fair.
Oh hey the pharagraph I responded to. Yeah I do play survivor at rank one, and run circles around Killer's like no tomorrow. Like most maps have over 10+ pallets, and a gen usually only costs 2 if I don't get the killer stuck in the Killer Shack or TL loop.
You guys know moris and keys right? Yeah they are both broken they both need reworks. The point I'm trying to make is that we need to get together and combine the community rather than divide and only then will dbd improve its health.
Yeah Mori's and Key's. Mori's can only be used if the Killer completes part of their objective. They were added to the game because the Dev's wanted Killer's to have a cool way to kill survivors that was unique to them, that didn't involve just hooking them and sacrificing them to the entity.
Key's can only be used to open a free win mechanic sooner. Do you know why the hatch exists in the first place? Because the last survivor was taking the game hostage by hiding and not completing Gen's. Getting a free win when the Killer finally gave up looking and DC. So they added the Hatch to give the survivor an incentive to go out of hiding. However that only added the problem of hatch stand offs, so they made it so that the Killer can close the hatch to start EGC. However then Survivors would just camp the door furthest the hatch, so even if the Killer does close the hatch they won't be able to walk to the door in time to stop the survivor from opening it. The hatch has been creating a lot of problems for the game since it was added. Simply all because BHVR decided to fix an issue of Survivors taking the game hostage, by literally giving them a free win mechanic. Key's doesn't help that issue even in the slightest.
So there you go boyo. You literally have 0 facts to back you up, you have only made strawman statements the whole time, and on top of all of that you're the one spreading the "us vs them" mentality. Either this can be chopped up as a bait thread, or you simply just need to get better at survivor, and learn the loops. Learn the tricks. Learn the maps. Learn the perks, and perk combinations. I suggest taking BT, DH, DS, and IW for solo playing. Yellow Med Kit w/ Gel Dressings, and Self Adherent Wrap - you get like 2-3 self heals out of it. Which is more than enough you need in any given game.
-
She stands still, and you get an audio que. Why do people not know this?

-
This has been a problem for years now, and BHVR won't do anything about it. The last time they did anything about players holding the game hostage. They gave survivors a free win mechanic (The Hatch).
Yeah. The entire purpose of the The Hatch was just so that the last survivor would be less inclined to take the game hostage when they are the last survivor remaining, by either finding the hatch for a free win, or the killer finding the hatch and forcing EGC (Which we all know that if you don't find the hatch almost immediatly, camp a door and you will open it before the Killer has time to walk across the map to get to you anyways - hence the Free Win Mechanic).
-
@ BHVR can we please make it so that you don't make Killer worse when you are trying to make matchmaking better
-
Better not till after BT, DH, DS, and IW all get the ruin hit. Then and only then will I be okay with PGTW getting hit.

Ah I see. So you can only play your main for like 200 hours, and then never touch it again because the MMR system will royally ######### you.

Remove the whole ability, as each generator is complete the map goes on fire - more aand more. Soon you are just playing Don't Touch The Lava to get to the last generator

The problem is people. Nothing we on the forums or the devs behind the game can do to fix that. They can implement things to help reduce it but they'll never eliminate toxic people. So with that logic, the only real thing you can do is take breaks. Unless you can be like Rick & Morty and pass everyone through a de-toxicifer.
Yes. They can do things to reduce the toxicity. However they are failing to do so, and ignoring the problem because when it get's talked about people come in and simply dismiss it and going as far as to tell the friendly people to not even play the game. BHVR needs to start taking the report system more seriously and start hitting players back for overly toxic behvaior. People should stop being okay with players being told to kill themself 3+ times a day in the run of just 2 hours of playing.

Simply telling people to "take a break" is a dissmissive comment that neither adds anything to the conversation, nor does it make sense to tell players to take a break, when it's other players that are a problem. All that does is ignore the problem, and let it get worse.

It's needed to even be able to win in the current meta. Blame the Dev's don't blame the killer's that are forced to do it. They don't usually like doing it either.

I understand how things can get in online pvp competitive games, but not all are this bad. The whole reason why it's so bad in Dead by Daylight is because it's not being addressed, and every time someone tries to talk about it people just say "Just close chat" or "take a break" - dismissing, and ignoring the issue that is only getting worse.

It's because everyone wants another perk like Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, or Borrowed Time, but those are the most powerful perks in the game already - the dev's don't want to make the game harder to balance, so they aim for unique abilities that are not going to overly affect the game, and is just mainly fun to use.

The game is only fun when you play with friends, and the Dev's don't think balancing SWF to be mandatory.
