    Well, yeah, duh. Lol

These discussions are usually about how to keep the effect the same, and eliminate exploitable mechanics.

Since we have folks who -WILL- abuse it, it helps to make abusing it too inconvenient to do.

Yeah but it hurts the people who use it normally

  • [Insert me caring here] or dont

  • I have said this before and I'll say it again. Ds is fine but what is not fine is how people use it. The abusers is the problem

  • I mostly die. Usually I'm the only survivor that knows how to loop so I can keep a killer busy. But I guess my teams are blind bc they never touch a gen

  • @gatsby said:

Pyramid Head is relatively balanced. Being tormented is entirely the Survivor's choice, getting free hits at vaults and pallets is something multiple other Killers have as well, and using Punishment of the Damned to predict hits through walls and loops is skillful and has counterplay.

Agreed he's just boring to play against

  • No, just because most killers with moris tend to play a bit toxic. I will occasionally save but i know he'll just tunnel them.

  • @doggomanno said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1748627#Comment_1748627

Then how would this be an issue? If they don't do gens, the game is slowed and makes it more difficult on the survivors while also giving them the option to either save the ds or to do a gen.

People just wouldnt do gens. It would be harder for survivors. Think about both sides here

  • @doggomanno said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1748533#Comment_1748533

Why wouldn't anyone do gens? It incentives the anti tunneling mechanic while balancing it so that if they start doing objectives they are now vulnerable instead of invincible basically

If ds deactivates when they touch a gen....i think you can assume the rest. People who abuse ds want use out of it

  • I just wanted to give him a tour of the map :(

  • @doggomanno said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/205540/possible-balancing-for-ds

I do think this isn't the best solution tbh. I think making ds deactivate once they touch a generator or during endgame collapse and keep it as it is. This would help make it much more reasonable.

Nobody would do gens. And solo Q is bad as it is

  • Ds itself is fine, no need to change it

The wrong thing is how people use it. People abuse it, dont nerf the perk because it doesnt get rid of the problem. It's SWF who abuse it and make the perk a problem

  • @SMitchell8 said:

The survivor probably looped the killer for 4 minutes and wasted there time, thus the killer returns the favour.

You're the actual definition of the -500 IQ titles of the among us videos

  • I like how killer mains here are totally ok with it. This is different, they are letting them bleed out and one way of getting out of it. Don't compare it to Ds, camping, or tunneling cause its not the same. Here are my reasons

Ds: 5 second stun. (You'll be fine), let the timer run out ( ez counter)

Camping: at least the survivors can kill themselves on hook and get it over with.

Tunneling: The survivor has things to work with, and at least they can fight for their life somewhat

This camp slug has no wiggle room and the survivor has absolute no counter play

bUt UnBrEaKaBlE- no because the killer can still down you and boom perk slot wasted

nO mItHeR- the killer wouldn't slug you to begin with tho

The only counter to this is...

    Bum bum bum

    Soul guard!!

(But the killer needs to have a hex perk going so the odds arent always with you)

So yeah, not much counter to this scenario.

    :D

  • Something similar happened to me, I was at Yamoka estate and this meg head decides to trap me by a generator. The huntress found us and killed the meg, she let us go :)

I think most of the issues for killer in this game have to do with the low fov. I'll probably make a post on it in the future. Survivors being unseeable if they crouch in front of you, it's just ridiculous.

As a survivor main I can agree. Something needs to be done

  • @Heartbound said:

Look, I've gotta make sure the pallets are set back up for the next match, and the trial area is clean. Do you know how long that takes? Survivors aren't appreciative of the exercise we give them, I swear.

I have any means necessary! Need help?

  • I wait for the killer so I can leave my item there for him. Or sometimes I just let them kill me or get a lil bit of extra bloodpoints, I'm sorry to all the killers for my team being toxic. I praise you all <3

  • I went against a bubba a few days ago and he stood still everytime before chasing someone for like 5ish seconds then the lag was unbearable. Most the team dc'd. I was so confused. I dont get what happened

  • Red ranks are the "upgraded" version of rank 20. But I do get a lot of respectful killers and survivors recently

  • What the problem, The trapper traps.

  • I'm very confused

Yeah anything overbearing on either side should be addressed, like when they changed forever Freddy. Its just second chance stacking has been a problem for way too long and is much stronger than what killers can put together most of the time and its in every game.

I just don't know what you expect them to do. Either you play around the perk and still take a loss and even potentially still get stunned, or you don't and get stunned for playing the way the game encourages you to and take a loss. Its a lose-lose. I don't blame them for complaining the same way I don't blame people for complaining about Spirt or Freddy. Its poorly designed and should be criticized.

it is a two way street, but that goes for complaints/criticism as well. You don't like tunneling? Well stop doing gens so fast and unhooking in front of me. Why can you do you objective just fine but I can't do mine? You don't like camping? Stop running in for saves before I even get anywhere. You want free hatch? Give some killers a free sacrifice in a bad game. You don't want me to run this and that well don't run second chances and exhaustion.

I don't expect survivors not to tunnel gens, I don't expect killers not to tunnel kills likewise. Especially because survivors should tunnel gens, killers should tunnel kills. Both are optimal for their respective sides. If we don't want one we need to stop the other as well. Two way street indeed. Tunnel gens tunnel friends.

What gets me is the double standards and survivors never looking at themselves as part of the problem as well or considering the other side. But since that's not going to change, so lets just fix the balance issues instead of worrying about how the other side wants you to play because they feel bad about it.

I blame the game, not the players.

I agree. The state of the game right now is meta against meta. We cant stop it but ppl like to complain about it

  • As a survivor main I can confirm this. But I can also say the same for survivors. I'm tryna keep the survivors and killers from quitting this game when I run into them, but I dont think they're up for a compromise. Everyone gets very salty

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1718173#Comment_1718173

    A) Tunneling is the way the game should be played in its current state. Unfortunately getting 1 person out asap is what you should do. Tunneling shouldn't be seen as "bad" on the player, but on the game design. I'd wish they'd change it so that was no longer the case. You can choose not to tunnel if you want, but you will be handicapping yourself.

    B) DS has been show to hit people who don't tunnel time and time again. At the very least this should be changed.

    C) It might not be as big a problem if it wasn't abused, but it is.

I understand what was said here, but I don't believe this outlook is a correct one.

Also what @Seiko300 said just above is very valid.

Look I understand, BUT the thing that get me is that killers play as if everyone has ds or completely ignore it and complain when they get the stun.

Strong Killer perks pared with other Strong killer perks are the same.

    It's a two way street

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1717993#Comment_1717993

Yeah those "counters" aren't good enough. I don't care if people like it or not, but considering there's no way to actually counter it without taking a loss somehow, and all those losses are pretty big, they're not good enough. DS has no actual counter that nullifies it beside PH cages.

You can buff killers across the board for DS, but that seems a horrible change since you're just going to make the experience very unbalance if people don't bring DS if not in general, introducing massive power creep. Just change the problem, don't try to change around it.

If its so strong we need to buff all the killers to level the field, its probably too strong and needs to be reduced.

Well people wouldnt need to bring ds if killers dont tunnel. Some survivors do complain about everything and dont even know what tunneling is but I do. Ds is fine as long as it's not abused. Do you get what I mean?

If that is the case, then why hasn’t BHVR said anything about it? Even if they can’t outright say that it’s Sony’s fault, then at least say something like “PS4 players can’t participate due to unforeseen circumstances”. Unless BHVR is the one stopping PS4 from participating for whatever reason. Sony’s let other developers do these types of giveaways with their games, so why wouldn’t they let BHVR do it with DBD?

That would be nice, ps4 should get some love soon

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1717691#Comment_1717691

I don't know what you're trying to get at, I'm not trying to make nor want a power role. You're making this out to be more than it is. We can nerf DS for example no problem as its a balance issue. We can buff Daja Vu no problem as its weak. Same can be said for the other side. we can nerf Spirit and buff Clown and leave survivors as is because as is they are already problems.

There's no need to touch the other side inherently just for the sake of it. You address balance issues on both and go from there. If you over buff or over nerf you adjust. Things change, you change with them.

The only thig I'd say you need to address on both sides at the same time is keys and mori's.

Ds has counters, the thing with killers is that they dont like those counters. If they leave ds as it is and buff something killer related then those could potentially cancel each other.

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1715930#Comment_1715930

I mean killers don't have second chance perks, so nothing would be changed. Maybe NoED but that perk doesn't really need changes. I'm not putting every single change I want just a few. Sure we could nerf Spirit, but survivors being as strong as they are is a bigger issue to me currently as that effects every game.

Also yeah you do nerf one side and buff the other because they're not balanced, we're not gonna nerf DS because its dumb but also nerf Clown just cause. There's imbalances on both sides both too strong and too weak. Survivors are just generally stronger and also any change would be across the board since they all work the same, rather than take the time to buff over half the killer roster in their own ways since they all have different powers.

If we just nerf all of both sides than what was the point, nothing changed. We need buffs and nerfs on both sides. I just didn't want to write an essay on my dream vision of the game and every single thing that needs to be changed.

These are just my top few.

I get what you're saying but no. You can't nerf something and buff whatever, if they did they would have to buff something EXTREMELY weak. But its the same thing the other way around. We need balance, not "power" roles.

  • They honestly need to start giving a [BAD WORD] this flat out looks bad on them

the ignorant people are casuals such as yourself who are too busy purchasing skins for this greedy rat company and refusing to git gud

if it was up to me i would also revert hillbilly and legion

you filthy casuals are the reason we are getting an excuse of an event, battle pass, low quality skins, roulette balancing and very slow and minimal updates

truth is this game is pay to play and it can maintain the servers with all the players that have bought this game for another 5 years at least

behaviour is more interested in public relations and using dbd as a cash cow, no wonder on that chinese 20% stake

You know it sucks to assume things cause then you end up looking like a fool. I dont buy skins and I focus on balance. Nurse was hard to counter, and people agreed. Her nerf was necessary. She was too powerful. The game is meant to be balanced, not giving killers the "power role". You cannot buff and buff killers without buffing survivors. Just like you cant buff killers and nerf survivors at the same time.

No power roles are meant to be given. The game has equal pros and equal cons. Balance wise this game isnt there yet, but it's closer than before. Nurse nerf was necessary

Iri head is fine as is, even though it takes no skill to literally run up on a survivor until you're literally touching them and 1 hit down them with iri head. It does take skill to hit a long shot, regardless of what add-ons are being used.

However, infantry belt gives a total of 3 iri heads (I'm sure everyone knows this) which makes it absolutely busted and dog crap to run against.

Bhvr, please just consider making iri heads 1 hatchet limit a trump to everything else so it cannot go above 1 hatchet even if they wanted to run infantry belt.

I'm sure I'll get flamed in the comments by some people, but this is how I feel. I see a lot of frustration with this add-on pairing with infantry belt, I'm voicing my frustrations after giving myself time to reflect on my own gameplay. I feel like it needs to be looked at and have something done to it. A range instant down is annoying as is, 3 attempts at a ranged instant down is a bit busted. Pair that with most huntress players I run into just waiting until they are right behind you and the beach ball sized hit boxes of the hatchets, and it just, it's hot garbage.

With iri head it usually goes one of two ways. One is you are good and hit ur shots and the other is missing them and barely getting use outta it. But I do agree, SOMETHING needs to be done about it

  • @Micheal_Myers said:

My point of view rework Keys.

Keys are the most annoying thing in this game.

And yes when you randomly find one in a chest while you and one other survivor got 3 Genned it feels nice getting that nice escape. But if there is 3 survivors who escape with the hatch that's just wrong. Especially with a Key.

Then another one is BUFF WEAK KILLERS. Myers is a loop machine. Wanna know why? On Grim Pantry (the swamp) on the boat you can litterally loop through the windows every 3 seconds and keep him occupied. Yet the survivor doesn't get ANY NEGATIVES in that situation. So I want to say give a slight Haste boost for vaulting with a faster vault for all killers.

Now lastly I view that all Moris are fine. But I do understand the frustrations of Ebony. But the only reason us killers feel like we need to use one every match (except on the best killers) is due to the fact that every killer is who arent in the top % are weak killers. Who arent really viable in most situations and cant counter most situations. So until my second point is done by the Devs I dont think they should rework Moris at all. But once they buff weak killers in the middle % and the lower %, then they can change Ebony to work on any survivor who has been hooked at least once.

Ok, so you see how annoying keys are? Moris are the exact same for survivors, it ends the game quick and gets fairly stale

  • @MrPenguin said:

Getting a team together that actually knows the game very well. A lot of problems would be better or even not there in the first place if they understood their own game better :/

Instead we have the OoO comments and Clown is apparently a sleeper pick.

In terms of something more concrete:

    a) rework the hook system so camping and tunneling are no longer optimal so people can stop crying about the killer doing their job and the killer can reasonably actually do their job without camping or tunneling.

    b) balancing survivor second chance perks, so nerfing them. Been a long standing problem for too long

    c) Improving the quality in the game. Fixing bugs, adding game modes, ect.

    d) Selfish one: fix/buff/rework Demo and Legion so I can play them without expecting a pain in the booty match that I probably won't win if the survivors are decent every game.

For B the same would have to go for killer. If u nerf one side so will the other. You cannot nerf one side and buff another for example. It's a two way street. Killers dont get a power role, they need to be balanced, as well as survivor

  • @[Deleted User] said:

These kinds of generalisations don´t help anyone and contribute to the toxicity this community is plagued by. "Killers" means players since many people play both sides. Every argument complaining about Killers bringing x or Survivors bringing y boils down to exactly the same.

X players handle things to the heart and feel entitled to things more than y players. The difference is how its handled.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Because survivors expect rescues to be handed to them on silver platters

Same to killers about their kills.

    Survivor: survives

    Killers: that not right

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

It´s straight up ignorant to claim this was a one sided problem. Good job contributing to the us vs them while adding nothing meaningful.

The thing is that survivors dont get an excuse for what they run. Killers are egotistical and think survivors need to obey them. If survivors run something killers deem as unfair they start calling them sweaty and toxic.

  • I had a game a while back, we played against a wraith and he hooked one survivor and he had bbq so he found me. No one did gens and I got down in 3ish minuets. I'm on hook he's camping me. So I'm just praying that I get the 4% and I did. So he starts hardcore tunneling me.

( This is on a coldwind map) I start looping him at one of those pallets with the hay and the car, I see an ace waiting at the pallet so I assumed he was gonna take a hit. I was wrong, he tried throwing the pallet in my face so I quickly vaulted to the other side.

I wanted to get outta that loop just because he was sandbagging me and I couldve easily died there. So I start looping him on main building and the ace blocks the one door way (the only exit). The wraith is so close and I panicked. So I went for the 360 and he went for the swing. I was shocked when I found out he hit the ace and not me.

I thought " oh ok he hit him so he might switch targets now right?" Nope straight back for me. Fast forward and all gens are done ( I gave him a five gen chase with a sandbagging ace the entire time) I'm have been injured the whole time since I got off the hook.

I have all the survivors ready to take hits then the ace runs up in front of me. I dont know how I got passed him but the wraith swings and hits the ace with noed. I just left bc I'm not gonna save the dude who tried to get me killed. He died and he was pretty salty too.

    Fun times

You should be proud to still have won the match, yet here you are, crying because the match wasn't fast enough over.

dude keys are way more common to go against than mori's

sure they might be rarer than mori's when it comes to the blood web but killers don't use mori's every game while keys can both be brought in by 1 or more of the 4 survivors or found in a chest during the trial.

they both need to be reworked at the same time but when it comes to strength and frequency keys win.

Really? Because for me I see way too many moris and like a key once every 20 games

  • Along with keys too. Moris and keys need nerfs

  • You're thinking about one situation. There are other situations where we kinda have to let them go to second phase.

  • Same for killer. Its a two way street

No problem. To be honest, solo Q can be quite frustrating.

I would say, try to find some people along the way to SWF with. They could just be randoms you had a really good game with.

That or don't take surviving seriously and just meme around. That makes solo q much more enjoyable and really removes most of the frustration. Although I guess it really takes at least a few hundred hours under your belt before memeing starts becoming fun.
