    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BTG84FRGH99N/img-20210210-170015.jpg

    THAT WAS A LIE

I could literally care less about the UI. I can become accustomed to it over time but the survivor movement now is so busted, janky and just plain clunky. It feels HORRIBLE. Why in the earth they did this is baffling. ######### were they thinking? And hit boxes don’t BT get me started. This game was really good they just needed to leave it the ######### alone. They keep trying to update everything into new gen stuff but dude just leave it. You’re turning a literal masterpiece into a dumpster juice fire. Just make a dead by daylight 2 for Christ sake.

  • It’s abhorrent at best. I like the graphic updates but literally that’s it. it feels like a completely different game now and I hate it. It’s not DBD anymore for survivor. It’s DBD2. The movement is janky and clunky. Survivor feels horrible to play. What a joke.

I too love them. The crawling hatch escape will never get old to me lmao!

To you who dislike the new, do you remember how terribly rigid and strange old animations were? Like be honest to yourself. Standing and being injured and crawling especially. It felt like playing a quickly made browser game to me at least. Now they just feel more proper and they did a pretty good job with how your physical movement on map wasn't changed.

I think people are just still used to old and don't see how terrible they always were or they're afraid of having own opinions so they like to jump on the hate train.

I don’t think anyone is complaining on how they look it’s more of the feel. It feels janky and clunky now. It’s nowhere near as smooth as it was before. That’s the issue. They look great but don’t feel that way.

It was kinda pointless but the movement feels clunkier now. Believe me the new animations are a lot better but I’d rather have smooth movement

You are 100% correct. They look nice which is great but they feel very janky. They are no longer fluid and smooth. Clunky.

Yeah it really doesn't. I can show you a game that has a UI that takes up more than 50% of the screen if you like. People seriously need to stop being so dramatic. Yes, it's not a favoured update, but it's not as bad as people keep making it out to be.

Agreed. I scaled them down to the smallest and they are fine but I still don’t like them. I guess I’m just so use to the old one. What I really don’t care for is the new movement on survivor. It just feels off to me. Janky, nowhere near as smooth as the old. I’m still playing though.

Why do people hate it? personally i love it the survivors feel more alive and realistic some killers got a buff and i like the new hud but the fact that you can see how many times a survivor is hooked not so much

    Overall i like it

Thing is the vast majority of the community voiced their opinion especially about the UI changes in the PTB and didn’t like it at all. I personally think it’s trash and they should have left it the way it was. New animations are janky and just feel weird but I’m guessing time will make me get use to it. 2 things that really pissed me off with this patch is they took out the pushing esc thing where you could let go of M1 and continue with whatever action you were doing and they took out letting you use custom icon packs. You can still see the custom in the bloodweb but in a match it reverts back to the norm. I know it may seem petty but I liked these 2 things, especially not have to hold M1 for 80 seconds on a gen. Hit boxes do seem a bit weird but honestly when do they don’t? I have gotten use to getting hit from 2 survivor lengths away. What a joke.

Back on topic though like I said the majority said they didn’t like or want new UI changes but BVHR gives the middle finger to the community yet again. What else is new.

I have noticed a few threads saying that the perk should be nerfed because it destroys stealth killers.

I think that it should just not work if the killer you are up against has the undetectable status effect. Many new players don't know what spine chill does either, they don't know that they can just look to the side to approach silently.

But it is pretty dumb how survivors can be warned that a killer with the undetectable status effect is coming for them lol. Yeah, I know you can just look to the side, but it is just a little silly how a killer can be detected with the undetectable status effect.

The aura reading value off the perk is trash. Paired with resilience is the only thing that makes spine chill any type of good. And I’m sorry but anyone saying spine chill needs a nerf is just bad at the game. Any killer can counter by just looking sideways when approaching whoever you think has it. Nerf spine chill LMFAO

  • Sad thing is no matter what the devs do people are still going to complain and whine. Bitchiest community I’ve ever seen.

  • I’m not understanding a lot of y’all complaining about DH. That is one of the easiest perks to play around. Hell half the time it doesn’t even work for the survivor anyway lol. The amount of times DH has cucked me I can’t even count but once I really understood how to use it properly it’s a lot more reliable. 95% of people seem to use it to avoid an attack but if you use it for distance that’s where it becomes a S tier perk. Using it to extend loops is how it shines. Using it to avoid an attack your ass is probably going to go right down on the ground in 5 seconds after using it.

Just finished a game where a Deathslinger made a beeline straight for me twice after unhooking and trying to patch myself up with a Medikit.

I waited for endgame to ask him how he found me. He said he heard my breathing. Once I was hiding behind some hay. Second time I made sure to hide on top of the tractor. He still headed straight for me.

The big issue here is I was using both Iron Will AND Off the Record. He also had no aura reading perks and he didn't have Stridor anyway. But how can he hear me breathing when I have both Iron Will 100% and Off the Record?

Seriously, I know Stealth has been given the big FU by the developers for the last two years but this is ridiculous.

Sad to say but he could have 100% been cheating. I’ve ran into a few players with absolutely no aura perks and come exactly and I mean exactly to where I was, no scratch marks no nothing and found me. I hate to jump to conclusions without all the details but do keep in mind there are some very strong addons that will reveal your location too. Crows are also a good indication of where people are. Very good killers will use crows for info. But personally I don’t buy the “I heard you breathing” crap. It is possible to hear breathing but making a beeline to your location kinda seems sus especially with no perks or addons to locate you. You said he did this twice which makes it very suspicious imo. I can understand once and getting lucky but twice?

  • @Crowman said:

Split up on gens. Even with tinker and his teleport, he can only effectively pressure 1 gen at a time.

So if people not being chased are working on gens separately Freddy will be forced to give up gens if he wants to down someone.

THIS!! Too many people and I mean WAY TOO MANY stack up on the map.

If 3 people are on a gen and the killer comes over they now have pressure on 3 survivors instead of one. That’s also 3 survivors that the killer knows are not on gens.

Split pressure is the key to winning/escaping.

As much as I agree with this statement, from a design perspective DS needs an indicator that it's still active on a Survivor.

What exactly would be the point of running it at all then? It would literally become a useless perk. No killer in their right mind would ever pick up a survivor if they knowingly had DS. From your suggestion they might as well make all perks visible to all players killers included. “Oh I see the killer has devour let me immediately and immensely go and hunt the totem down so they won’t be able to use their perk”. That’s not a good idea. DS needs to deactivate when either someone else gets hooked, you heal up or touch a gen.

This is my point. The devs are not looking into the underlying mechanics of the hatch and what makes it so, quite frankley, brainless.

Killers just have to slug for the 4k - no one likes this. No one likes key escapes except terrible key surviviors. So why does the hatch still exist?

Let’s say there is no hatch.......the last survivor could literally urban evade the entire map and you could possibly never find them (ever dealt with a P3 Claudette?) I think the hatch adds a certain urgency to find it and get the hell out. No hatch then what’s the rush? Would you have EGC start at the death of the 3rd player? That could work I guess but if a survivor is ready for that they could just be sitting at an exit and start powering it as soon as that survivor died and escape as well.

The hatch rng I personally think favors the killer MOST of the time. Of course this is just my opinion. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played killer and the hatch spawn right next to me. A lot more so than when I play survivor in the same scenario. A little trick I’ve learned that works a great bit of the time is when playing survivor let the killer run and find the hatch, 99% of killers will think you are running around looking for it too. Instead go immediately to an exit when you know that 3rd survivor is going to die. As soon as the killer closes the hatch start the exit. I’ve escaped SO many times like this lol.

Back to the topic I think the hatch is a good thing to get the match over with. If I’ve killed 3 people and the last gets the hatch I still chalk that up as a win for me. Playing killer is a lot harder in the aspect of actually pipping up so I don’t think that that last survivor escaping is the cause of your black pip. We’re you not defending gens good enough? We’re you staying around the hooks a lot? How did your chases go? Long? Short? There’s so many variables to say why you didn’t pip, you can’t solely blame the hatch escape. Link a video of you can I would love to see the match.

    Sigh

I'll try not to spend it all in one place. At least they booted up the Iri shards back to 1,000.

It’s just enough to get 2 things in the blood web maybe 3! WOW! That should hold me over for quite some time. They are so generous!

  • @Greatamygdala said:

Ivory Mori should have been Ebony and these things should be really difficult as hell to find. Heck maybe even cap the ebony you can hold so its more difficult to hold more of these on mass.

These offerings should be feared since you know...you're the goddamn killer and with its current state it's a joke.

I agree and let me compare this to all the “ultra rare” keys I have on my Adam. I have 47 pink keys compared to only 14 rare purples. What sense this makes I have no idea. Their so called ultra rare offerings and addons are not ultra rare AT ALL.

  • I can actually see scratch marks when I’m running for a split second then they disappear. Also my character movement is weird especially walking very slowly, almost like I’m jerking, not sure how to put it besides that. This isn’t a bug but the way they changed the totems I can barely see some especially on auto haven new map. I’m not a fan of that. This is going to make ruin/undying even more of a headache then it already is. I’m all for better totem spots but making them damn near impossible to see? I guess I’ll just have to get use to them. The massive dead zones in these new maps too my god. Killer mains will be happy with those.

  • This whole game is too dark for my liking. I use gforce and add some filters to brighten things up. Helps a TON!

  • @Spirez said:

Wow in 80% of games at red ranks there is DS I hope the devs are looking into this too. While they’re at it how about also Dead hard, borrowed time, iron will, and unbreakable.

    See how ridiculous that sounds.

Thats what you sound like making this post.

Also keep in mind two of those killer perks can be erased from the match at the start of it. After that tinkerer becomes more of a “look what gen you’re about to lose”.

I disagree and my experience over 60% of my games I don’t see ds or unbreakable. It’s just not as common anymore....in my experience at least. Rank 1 survivor. I personally don’t run either one. My go to build is dead hard, kindred, BT and iron will. Ruin undying I see in 80% or higher in matches. I don’t mind it personally cause I cleanse every damn totem I see now lol

  • I’ve been murdered twice in one week by OhTofu and played a game recently as survivor with PROBZZ. PROBZZ is a damn good survivor. Didn’t realize he was dead on hook and went back in for him and I ended up dying, was fun though.

  • Try and implement the 15 second rule.... If you don’t get a hit or a pallet in 15 seconds you need to drop chase and rotate to another survivor or to gens. Try and spot out a 3 gen strat for yourself and patrol those gens only.

You are going to lose a few gens it’s inevitable but pick which ones you don’t really care about and let them get done. This game is like chess, you need to think ahead and plan your next move accordingly.

The 15 second rule is key to success! I cannot stress that enough. Good luck my dude, see you in the fog.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Holding M1 is hard work now btw

No that’s the easy part. The hard part is learning the tiles and how to properly loop. I have 1k hrs and still only know a fraction of tiles on maps. I play solo red rank games and only survive MAYBE 15% of the time and frankly that’s being generous. Good teammates are what wins games. Period. If your team is ######### you can pretty much assume the killer is going to get a 4k or a 3k with hatch.

I’m sick of hearing “M1 is so hard blah blah blah.” Going by your logic then as killer all you have to do is hold W and press M1 or M2. GGEZ. I think not.

This game takes thousands of hrs to master. It is not ez for killer or survivor. SWF is what’s op especially if they are any type of good.

  • @Moundshroud said:

The state of play is not Survivor-sided; it is SWF-sided.

Exactly what I was going to say. I play solo rank 1 games and I’d say over 80% of the time the killer gets a 4k. Good teammates are few and far between.

  • You would think they would do extensive testing on each and every platform before releasing things but it’s clear they don’t.

  • @DannyD said:

As i play a killer. This game is amazing. However, as a survivor....... This game is so stupid. I cannot outrun a killer. I can BARELY hide from the killer. If i am hit... i def. cannot hide. On top of this.. what the fu** is up with killers that can knock me down with one hit?. Over and over. really starting to make me want to quit this game.

Dude I felt this exact same way, you just have to keep plugging and you will get better. It literally took me playing around 500hrs to get “decent” at this game. It is very frustrating at times yes but this is not a game where you learn the ropes in 20hrs. It takes a long time and dedication. I’m still learning map tiles and layouts even though I’ve played them numerous times over. Stick with it dude.

the percentage he gave is right from my calculations.

Mine as well. Keeping with my own stats from last 6 months I escape 14% of the time.

    Facts:

    1. I’m always solo
    2. All in red ranks except when rank reset happens and there is 4 or 5 games in rank 5.
    3. MANY Blendettes were harmed in collecting this data.
    4. Escape ratio went up after crossplay was enabled. Before crossplay I escaped 12% of the time.
    5. Even though I am a meg main I’m not a meghead (most of the time). More of an opinion than fact but let’s not judge.
  • @DawnMad said:

I am gonna go one step further and say its also okay to camp/tunnel to win games. It is not okay to do things just to annoy the other side (like teabagging/taunting), that would be just plain toxicity, but otherwise you can play however you like. The only people who are supposed to consider other sides fun are devs, you are free to do and use whatever you want and if it's a problem it should be fixed, not shamed.

Additionally, it's okay to do none of these and enjoy the game while taking into account other sides fun too. This is how I always play but I don't think this is in anyway the only "correct" way. Play however you want.

Repeating myself but want to emphasize that I'm not talking about people who do and use these with the sole purpose of annoying other people, that's just being a bad person. As long as your intention is winning and enjoying the game itself then it's all good.

So it’s ok to face camp but not teabag? Ok. I’m sorry but if a killer is face camping that’s on the same level as a survivor teabagging imo. I do not usually bm the other side but if I see a face camper I will teabag and play as toxic as I possibly can in hopes to piss them off.

Honestly the revealed aspect of him just needs to be fixed. It's very iffy on if you are looking at him or being looked at and doesn't make sense on both ends.

Other then that they need to buff his crouch to break toxic survivors legs. Hehe

I agree. If he’s able to just stand in the open and stalk me I should be able to reveal him as well but it doesn’t work that way at all. The window to reveal is very finicky.

I don’t even need to win. I’d like to be able to get more than 2 hits, and 1 hook. Survivors know how to use every single tile to their best advantage to make chases take far too ######### long

If this is the case you are overcommitted to chases. If you don’t get a hit or pallet in 15 seconds you need to rotate and apply pressure elsewhere. I know it’s so hard to let a chase go sometimes but it can be the difference between Winning and losing a match

  • @Zozzy said:

Not much to screw over when your entire team is self caring against a sloppy butcher legion instead of doing gens. They are doing a good job of doing that to themselves.

I agree. Too many just dumb ass players now. Yesterday I got hooked very close to a gen where a teammate was working, Freddy went across entire map and was clearly chasing obsession and yet the teammate that was so close to me let me go into second state on first hook to finish the gen with no ruin btw. Other 2 teammates were far away. As soon as I hit struggle I let go. ######### teammates like that. I could understand if it was the last gen but we were on 4 gens left.

  • From what I’ve learned hit boxes in this game seem to be a bit large and they aren’t modeled around your character outline, they seem to be either a rectangular or oval shape so things that don’t look like they should hit hit anyway. Cough cough Huntress hatchets. Your friend literally got hit on the very end of that hit box. If he wouldn’t have gotten stuck on the edge of that loop he would have made it. I agree it looks like bullshit but that was a legit hit unfortunately.

Being in the middle of the pallet you will still get hit 99% of the time because your hit box is still on the edge even though your character is dead center your hit box is not. Same goes with vaulting windows, it clearly looks like you made the vault but then get smacked anyway. Hit boxes man, hit boxes.

  • @timbologna said:

If survivors stomp in high ranks shouldn't that be accounted for in balancing? I'm betting survivor survival in high rank games is probably around 70 percent.

In my own personal experience your statement is wrong. I strictly play solo survivor so I can’t speak for swf but when I play in any other rank besides red I win probably around 70% of the time. As soon as I get into red ranks that turns around big time. Out of 30 games in a row I played last night the killers 4k’d in 28 of them, the other 2 were 3k with a hatch escape. I escape MAYBE 15% of the time (that’s being generous) in solo red ranks. I particularly don’t like playing in red ranks because I swear I get the sweatiest killers that have 5k worth of hrs and it’s clear my other teammates and I have hundreds of hrs and stand no chance whatsoever. I wished so badly that mmr was going to work out. I have 500 hrs and for some reason getting paired with killers with literally 3k hrs and above consistently. It’s not fun for me and I can’t imagine much fun for them as well feeling like they are going up against baby survs. I love OhTofu but literally had to block him cause I was getting him as killer quite often. The devs NEED to implement something whereas this huge gap in play hrs is not an issue anymore. Until then I will purposely de pip to go back to green and purple ranks where I belong with killers and teammates with similar hrs as me and games are actually fun. Rant over.

  • Funny story....I ran a wraith around for a very good little while, 1 person already dead and when I finally went down and hooked I saw one teammate was finishing one of the last 2 gens and the other was across the map standing in one spot teabagging. The one that finished the gen came and unhooked me then got downed themselves but they were dead on hook. I see on bond that other person was still in that back corner doing nothing. I literally thought they were camping hatch which really pissed me off. I was able to lose wraith and he found the other person, downed them and hooked them. I wanted to give them the same treatment they gave me so I went over to where they were hooked and just started teabagging the ######### out of them right in front of the hook. I literally did it till wraith came back and downed me. I didn’t give a ######### about dying that game just as long as I was able to give them that teabag I assumed they were giving me while I was hooked. Endgame chat I found out they were stuck and some obscenities were thrown my way. All I could do was hang my head and leave. Facepalm for real on my part. I seriously thought they were BM’ing me.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

is this really a buff PH thread why?

Because they are obviously bad at playing him.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

it fair because it hard to do.

Had one yesterday that got it fairly quickly, I guess people were feeding him. As soon as I saw he was killing people straight out I made myself stand out so he would chase me and when I felt like I was gonna die I hoped in a locker and made him grab me then just killed myself on hook in hopes my teammate would get hatch which they did:) I know it’s horrible but I was trying my hardest to cuck him out of getting that achievement if that’s what he was even going for, I don’t know. I personally think it’s a boring way to play but hey to each their own. And if and when I run into it again I am going to do the same ######### i did in the last game.

Something else I almost forgot, had a perma tier 3 Myers and the 2 console gamers that were on the team kept healing after getting unhooked. I smacked my forehead like 3 times watching that crap. They just didn’t get what was going on LMAO. Red ranks btw. They would get downed and hooked then right after getting unhooked hit the corner and self care or medkit. After not seeing that icon disappear after about a min or so should have been a dead giveaway or the fact that after each time they would heal they would get 1 shotted again and still heal again after the unhook. 🤦🏼‍♂️ And they wonder why we talk #########.

  • Pretty much if you are in a dead zone, which is large portions of each map, you are dead. The only way to deal with him is jungle gyms and safer loops. I ran one today for a good 2 min just going from loop to loop. Too bad my teammates were too scared to do anything besides hide so yeah.

He is very strong but I do not think he’s OP. It’s the fact he has an instadown I think people are having an issue with. Just always remember if you are in a dead zone and doing a gen your head needs to be on a swivel. As soon as you see him coming your way you need to book it to a loop. Always look around for multiple escape routes and plan ahead if the killer comes BEFORE you start on the gen. Know what you have to work with around you at all times.

If he’s camping don’t even try it. You’re going to ######### the rest of your team if you do. Do gens, get the hell out and thank the person for their sacrifice.

It's not, it doesn't "damage" the survivor directly so it's not considered (like throwing a bottle with Clown or putting a trap with Pig)

It does damage you though. You can’t compare it to throwing a bottle with the clown because that does not damage you at all, purge does. With the pig trap you are already downed so no comparison there either.

  • You definitely have to know what you are doing to run it. Like you stated tho most people I see that have it go down really quick then get tunneled out quickly.

People most likely use moris after a losing streak or just to have fun watching the mori animations.

Thinking people is just bad for moring in first hook is detrimental for you bud.

I had a Ghostface apologize after a game where he mori’d everyone saying he had a few bad games before that one. He didn’t do it like an asshat off first hook though which was nice. We were all cordial back to him. Pays off sometimes being nice.

No you're missing the point, the point is that the perk derails completely the purpose of being an anti-tunneling perk allowing survivors to go for super aggressive plays in front of the killer or hiding in a locker

It has been said MANY times by the devs themselves........It is not an anti tunneling perk. That’s something the community came up with.

Because it's unfair to balance around casual players when there will always be a competitive side of DBD where survivors will destroy almost all killers. It doesn't matter that it's not a high proportion, because typically these veteran players will spend the most money on the game and play the most, meaning they should be high priority to balance around.

Your logic make no sense when the majority of players are “casual”. There very well may be a competitive side to DBD but it will never match up against the casual player base.

  • My most successful build is dead hard, borrowed time, iron will and the last I switch out between unbreakable, DS, prove thyself and sometimes resilience or WGLF.

  • The 20 or so games before this one when he 4k’d all of them.....that’s ok then right? This ######### doesn’t happen every game so stop with this nonsense. If it went on every game then yeah we got a problem but it doesn’t. Stop regurgitating stuff from streamers.
