I mean you’re absolutely within your right to do so if you want.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1995105#Comment_1995105

I personally don’t engage much with anime or manga but I was never aware of that. I see now why Behaviour made the Trickster look the way he does, I just am a little uncomfortable with people seemingly ignoring the lore all the while adoring him design wise. Perhaps people just don’t care about the lore these days, even if said lore completely changes the way you might see them. For me personally, I knew he’d be a murderer going in (he’s the new killer so that much was obvious lol) so when I first saw him I just thought he was kind of a quirky dude but otherwise alright. Once I understood the depths of the characters depravity, I just couldn’t look at him the same way. With Clown at least most people only jokingly simp for him, with Trickster, there seems to be a genuine infatuation with him from some people. They might be the minority but it’s still a bit uncomfortable to think about.

Hey now. Don't forget, we have plenty of that already with the male players developing crushes on female killers who for the most part aren't even remotely appealing. That is to say, literally every one except Hag and I personally haven't seen anyone post about Pig.

    - an easily impressionable teenage girl who frequently gives in to peer pressure. Wears a bunny hoody so you know she's insane in the membrane, but people still think it's cute so they forgive the fact that she's a dumb criminal child.

    - a eugenicist, I surely don't need to add anything else here. She's not waifu material at all, but still people go for it. I blame the outfits and the cute Mori, maybe.

    - a dismembered corpse of a college girl running around in only bandages. Her school girl outfit, if you're kinky.

    - an extremely beefy woman with a stunted mental state that effectively makes her a giant deadly child.

    - a Babylonian priestess with a rotting, and festering body infected with what is basically the black death only worse. Understandable crush, but still.

This is just a hot male character for female players, there's nothing inherently wrong with designing characters to be attractive and it's often used in conjunction with disturbing themes to create a contrast. We've even got killers like the Male Legion outfits and Pyramid Head's explicitly sensual themes (go play Silent Hill, it's super horny).

I get where you're coming from and you're not weird at all for finding this weird, but it's just something that's happened on the internet over the years. I won't get into how we ended up like this, but I will point out to you that these are primarily "fantasy crushes" or simply jokes in the hopes that you will feel better about it all.

While people do develop the hots for murderers literally all the time, only crazy people are actually influenced by it (these people are criminals) or think of it as anything more than a fantasy. It very rarely goes beyond "That's kinda hot" or "if you could go out with any celebrity, who would it be?" honestly, people are very much aware of what would actually happen if they met these Killers.

  • @RoboMojo said:

I personally dislike how he was almost seemingly designed for the r34 crowd, I mean the dude has his chest completely exposed and that’s his default outfit lol. I can see why people like him though and I respect their opinion. His neon aesthetic, whilst a little at odds with DBD’s aesthetic, is still fine I guess if you consider all the silly neon cosmetics already in the game. My issue comes in when people start genuinely getting the hots for him. For two main reasons

    • Obviously the first being that he’s a fictional character, (like that’s ever stopped people from simping for these characters lol)
    • The second reason however is that I do find it slightly concerning that people took such a liking to him, considering his rather disturbing lore. Obviously this is a horror game and so you know, killers are supposed to be really bad people. However the fact that some people rather explicitly like him because he’s hot is a little concerning considering how in the context of the lore, he’s literally a serial killer.

Maybe I’m just being a boomer here but getting the hots for serial killers, real or fictional, is very disturbing to me. Perhaps that’s why those jokey posts about which killer is the hottest make me so uncomfortable lol.

My friend, please don't ever strike up a conversation with anybody that reads manga. You will probably be very grossed out. Females in those circles frequently lust after genuinely abusive men and unrepentant playboys, while Males develop crushes on criminally insane murderers and legitimate man eating monsters. It's actually pretty normal honestly, if a bit niche.

And also google Male Kpop/Jpop stars for why he's dressed like that. He is designed to be attractive, but most likely only because that's in line with his role as pop star.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

I personally love this killer he has so much personality and it's nice to actually be hyped again.

I actually like him too, it's a fresh design that doesn't really conflict with anything and his quirks really shine through in the animations. That's what I primarily look for in a killer design, someone who's visuals and animations show who they are as a person. With Trickster his general personally is immediately evident along with his central theme (a need for attention).

For example, Hag is probably the most underwhelming Killer design because we don't really get any connections between her backstory, personality, animations or visual design. It all feels disjointed, despite the fun playstyle. You could argue that she's loosely based on Voodoo stuff though, I guess.

I would have personally toned down his colours a little and given him different flashy weapons that don't glow so that he matches the environments a little better though. That being said, it's obviously not a design for everyone and the power looks pretty underwhelming at a glance. I guess you just have to like serial killers and K/Jpop idols to like him, that or just be into any of the mentally unstable members of female orientated harem manga/shipping at all.

I was having a blast with Basement Bubba (protecting my chest with Franklins). But I also heard somewhere that it is banneble if you do it too much. But I have so much fun with it, because they always try to get back to their items.

It's also fun when survivors see what you're doing and tease you here and there and you also tease them.

So my main question is: Is it banneble or can I still have a blast with it?

If anything, you're one of the people roleplaying the character correctly. Why shouldn't you protect your home from outsiders? Your family is counting on you.

  • @Pat00tSack said:

I was just thinking about all the little nuanced communications in the game and the sort of etiquette the community has formed.

I just learned about the Pig snoot booping, so I was wondering how many more things like that there are. (i.e. If I kobe off last hook, you HAVE to give me hatch, waving your arms around while hooked to let people know it's safe, etc)

The Kobe doesn't mean anything, you're never entitled to an escape or a hook/kill of you're Killer. I will personally give you a small head start either out of amusement or because I'm dumbfounded, but I'm still closing the hatch and killing you if I find it first.

There is only two actual unspoken rules. The first and most important, which is very rarely followed by either side, is that you have to treat the opponent kindly and without feelings of anger or hate. As if you're playing a video game with each other.

And the second is that if you're being picked up as the last Survivor alive and the Killer is not moving at all or if you're body blocked by a Killer with an instant down (Bubba, Angry Oni, etc) and he's not just killing you, then he's (probably) trying to start a very limited conversation or activity with you. At that point if you escape the shoulder and/or do puppy eyes, then he'll likely play with you for a bit and farm some points together. Maybe give you the hatch, but that's an in the moment decision between you two.

  • Controversial takes incoming. Please don't read if you're a Survivor main who doesn't want his night ruined or can't handle half serious bait posted out of boredom (my points are actually valid, but it's not written "honestly").

"As we all know, Spirit has very little counterplay in chase which makes her unfun to face."

I don't think this matters all that much, at least not as much as people say it does. They always go on and on about this point as if it's iron clad, but this argument never considers the Killer's perspective at all. Both sides should have fun options, and it's no fun at all for the Survivor's to have all the agency in a chase. Why is it okay for Survivors to demand fun, but a Killer isn't allowed to ask for the same? Spirit is our answer to the countless times that Survivors replied with "Just learn to deal with it" and that's a good thing.

"You can compare the lack of counterplay Spirit has with Nurse, but what makes Nurse much more balanced is the fact it takes a long time to master her."

You can't compare them. Again this is an incredibly biased statement and it blows my mind to hear Survivors of all people somehow justifying their pleas for nerfs with it. How "easy" a Killer is to use doesn't really affect the Survivor perspective, not in a way that actually has an impact in the match itself. If as people claim, they're performing exactly as well as each other and Nurse is fine in her current state, then by your own admission Spirit is a balanced Killer too.

Level of skill required isn't a factor in whether a Killer is balanced or not, that's just you being mad at something outside of the match. Balance is determined by how they actually influence the match itself, and I don't see anyone complaining about Spirit's map presence she gets from Phasewalk speeds.

"Spirit doesn't really have that much of a learning curve even though she is almost as strong as Nurse, which is honestly not fair."

Why is it unfair specifically though? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that holding down the power button as Bubba instantly downs a Survivor and that you simply don't walk into walls while using it to reap massive rewards, but because Spirit is exceptional in 1v1 chases none of the skill or game knowledge required to use her Power counts for diddily squat? It's just reductive to say it's a "free hit" and even people who haven't played her surely must know that.

To summarise, you only perceive Spirit as unfair because you have outside knowledge. Say for example if someone who had no knowledge of each Killer watched a few games of Nurse and Spirit without context, they'd both seem to be the same level to someone who isn't aware of how the Powers work. Either both Killers are OP or both are fine, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Final, controversial, salt inducing, hate festering and world view shattering take: Spirit is just Nurse for Console players.

lmfao, I will never accept a jag off game being able to be compared to the greatest rpg games of all time. I needed a good laugh though and got it lol.

Again, because you're biased. I wouldn't say that you're entirely at fault though, since that's just the sort of society the we live in. That is, one that shuns and demonizes this type of content instead of actually addressing the issue and teaching people about it.

Dungeon Travelers 2, MGQ and Rance for example, easily beats (or at least equals) many of the games that are usually in the "Totally Not Biased by Nostalgia Top Twenty Best JRPG's of all Time" lists around. Even if a hentai game came out that objectively completely outclassed them in every single possible aspect, people would still disregard it as thoughtless garbage.

People are set in their ways, so I am probably wasting my breath.

I don't understand that, the look of those games I have seen I've been reluctant to wanna evenr efer to as games sometimes. especially the ones calling them "visual novels". They just make me lol. stuff like legend of heroes, I'd always rather play that when it's a game where I can stand the cartoony style over anything using sex as a cheap gimmick. I just cannot help the low opinion I have of the sorts where that seems to be just about anything or the only thing they'll play. my mind is screaming "future funny article about a future felonious deviant", and holds the firm belief that they are definitely fapping like ted bundy locked in their home 'playing' the stuff. If the stuff had cost the same price as real games of the same type, and people still bought it instead of at least pirating it (usually they look much cheaper probably to make it more appealing since it seems a niche thing), I would honestly consider the guy that claimed the world ended in 2012 and we are in a parallel timeline at that point.

That's because you're heavily biased for no reason, friend. Games aren't inherently bad just because they have certain aesthetics or character designs, there are plenty of games with designs and themes based around "lewd" stuff that are easily up there with the great RPG's in all areas.

We are getting off topic though.

  • @SocialDistomancy said:

I always assume there's a good chance they've fapped at least once to them so I chuckle when I see a new one pop on a notification. I can't imagine those kind of games being more entertaining than other kinds of games in any other way. It would be like playing the kmart version of a video game. It would be like, somebody would rather play a cheap asset flip on steam that only got a few people to buy it cause of the milkjugs on a few characters while it has poor hit detection and chiddy netcode over wanting to play mortal kombat. or even the last street fighter over mortal kombat, more of an opinion with those though

It's more like they're just playing a game with harmlessly added milkjugs, considering that the ratio of garbage to amazing games is about the same as it is for games without that type of content.

Or a closer example, it'd be like playing a better fighting game WITH milkjugs (DOA) over a worse game without some effort put into them (MK, SF).

  • There's also the way the community acts and not wanting to be directly associated with them. That's a fair reason in my book, similar to how you wouldn't openly talk about playing Ecchi RPG's or always see people bashing mechanics very harshly when they do (even though they're generally equal to or better than most other games in the same genre).

  • @thrawn3054 said:

That would literally remove mind games. The main reason people dislike Spirit is her main "mind game" is standing still. Meaning the survivor has no info to go off. The red stain is perfect for that reason. It gives survivors something to play off of. It also gives killers something to feed disinformation with.

I very much agree. I wouldn't mind seeing my own stain at least, though it's fine either way.

  • Can we coin a term for Survivors? It's a little unfair that they can just camp generators and instantly start tunneling the exact same ones after I damage them. They should really run to another Generator whenever I do that, otherwise it's no fair on the Killer.

I was thinking something like "The Survivor's are pulling a double standard again" as a phrase, but we should workshop it a bit.

  • This change is just objectively good, I can't see why anyone would complain about it honestly. Realistically, this isn't going to affect anybody except the innocent Killers who get punished for explicitly not tunneling and the Survivors who abuse the perk to gain unfair advantages. It's not a nerf to DS or a buff to Killers, it's a way to prevent the Survivors' from abusing it.

It's still the same anti tunneling perk like it's supposed to be, but now it's also not a broken perk Survivors' can use as a free invincibility period that drastically wastes a Killer's already little time with zero penalties to the Survivor side. It's sad that this change doesn't address the issue of tunneling in the end, but that's basically a different issue that requires much more work to prevent.

Essentially what I mean is, stop thinking about it as a nerf to DS and instead think of it as a first step towards a more enjoyable game for both sides. Preventing toxic Survivor behaviour is equally as important as the Killer's side, after all.

  • FNAF is old and busted, Willy Weasel is the new hotness. How can FNAF's even compete with a Nicolas Cage Survivor DLC?

  • @Sand said:

I like to make my food dread being caught by me. Should I stop?

Yes. Stop immediately. You're ruining Entity-senpai's bento, BAKA!

  • Not if it's Leatherface, to be fair. Although he'd have to catch OP with just an M1 Killer's abilities, so that's a pretty fair punishment/reward for them both.

  • I don't think it's that big of an issue. I always thought of it as a countdown that also plays into the lore, it's like a timer until the Killer eventually gets you and increases the pressure a Killer can place on Survivors (which is all they have sometimes). Top tier Killer players will still easily catch you without Bloodlust and removing it would not stop any toxic Killer behaviour, so all that really achieves is hurting casual Killers for no reason (who seem to be the only people not hated by the community).

People seem to forget that it's not supposed to be an even playing field. Broadly speaking 1 Survivor should not be able to beat the Killer at all, and likewise the Killer shouldn't be able to easily defeat 4 Survivors working together. Survivors do need to have multiple options that allow them to escape a chase or survive for longer, but they should not be able to indefinitely extend it.

  • As a Killer main Meg's are fun to chase and Dwight's are adorable like others have said. Any Survivor who either acts in a way that improves the game for both sides with interactions (always helps friends out of a pinch, sabotages hooks well, etc) or treats the game as the casual "pvp" situation it should be (not a tryhard, but clearly wants to beat you) is cool in my book though.

  • @druggedpug69 said:

Is the word "killers" a slur or something?

Yes. I'm more than a murderer, I have feelings too. It's extremely offensive to imply that the only thing I do is kill Survivors.

  • It's more like "better hide until the other guy dies, so I can use the hatch" from both of the guys left alive, honestly. It makes perfect logical sense if there's still two gens left, but it's still so tiresome. You're essentially left to just wander the map aimlessly until they escape or you get lucky, and that's without getting into how bad it feels for your teammate to essentially become your selfish enemy.

Just once I want to see a Survivor give the last sacrifice to Killer, just one time.

  • Okay fine, but you have to turn Borrowed Time and Unbreakable into Hex Perks as well.

  • @Azterikk said:

For consistency's sake I suppose, just like how some other killers can get stunned out of their power (Legion, Ghostface, Wraith, Twins etc.). There are some who don't get stunned out of their power (namely Oni) not sure what dictates who does and who doesn't get stunned out of their power though.

Oni gets locked out of actions instead of getting stunned out of it entirely, on top of needing to have multiple blood reserves laying around at all times and requiring a sizeable amount of time/management to earn the power in the first place. This means that Oni cannot Hook the first Survivor that he sees and that he frequently has to let injured Survivors to return to game progress. For the duration of his power you also cannot do anything but chase Survivors, even if you don't have any clue where they are, and that is more than enough of a trade off for not recoiling like an abusive father who stepped on his last lego piece whenever you touch a wall.

tl;dr, Oni having mutliple downsides to his amazing power is why he can't get knocked out of it.

-M1 killer only until you find two Survivors and an M1 killer only immediately after using it

-Easy to counter early game if you can outplay M1 (possibly the weakest Killer in the game at that point, but that's a very fair trade off for his Power. I'm not saying this is an issue, just a reason.)

-Can only activate his power again if he made sure to earn more than needed for one charge or knows the location of an easy target

-Can only snowball while in his power, picking up downed Survivors just turns his power off

-Damaging Gens takes just as long even in Blood Fury, wastes your meter

Other Killers like Hag and such can't be knocked out because you can delete their traps before their power triggers as their trade off. Even Spirit has trade offs despite the seemingly universal hate, such as being unable to focus on anything else other than your target and not being able to see Survivors.

  • I thought you weren't allowed to go back up (down?) the ranks?

  • @burt0r said:

Well it is kinda the same thing as TBagging from the survivors. They can also mean something not toxic by it but are limited by the variety of emotes given in the game.

Same with nodding after a chase. You may mean it as "well done this was a good chase" but others do it and want to express things lie "finally got you, you little ....".

In neither case is the intention of the emote really clear and (since there is already a prejudice of negativity against emoting towards the other side) will probably be seen as only negative and toxic.

That's fair, and a bit narrow minded of me. I'll be sure not to do that unless it's one of those mutual emote exchanges that happen sometimes from now on.

  • @onemind said:

Bob the builder maybe he can fix this game if not. unironically a shrek skin for oni I would love

Bob the Builder is a good man who would never kick a generator, he can't be the killer. You're thinking of the guy who disrespects his tools, Conrad.

  • You did good, friend. You're not a loser at all and you didn't do anything wrong to feel bad about. They are the ones who suck.

Tunneling and Camping aren't actually bad at all under the right contexts though, and you shouldn't feel ashamed about using those tactics in 100% of situations. Only if you're doing the actual horrible stuff like Bubba Basement camping, for example.

If the endgame collapse has started, the Survivor is very blatantly just there to bully Killers or they point out the locations of their teammates with emotes at all then it's perfectly acceptable to hook that guy and stare right into his cold, dead eyes as you watch him be sacrificed if you want.

  • You can. Just use the "follow me" emote and if the Killer is bored enough or not enjoying this match due to differences in skill levels he'll probably respond in some way.

"Delete this post immediately." - Pyramid Head.

  • Meg's have a much higher chance of being cooler than other Survivors, but there are still "Rotten Megs" who wear flashy outfits and bully Killers that should not be considered a true "Meg" so to speak. That being said, we should respect them as Killer mains at least. They are one of the very few Survivors who actively engage the Killer in the fun ways, not like Claudette's and David's who are the worst.

Spirit should also be loved by all, but only as a cute Japanese girl and a cute Japanese ghost. These are objective facts.

  • That's not even the best secret techniques. Streamers and good Killers will try to tell you about all these super thought out tactics to succeed, but nothing can prepare you for a Bubba who's so drunk he doesn't even know what play he's making. Makes them waste so many dead hards since you forget to attack when you really should have, for example.

...wait, what were we talking about?

Billy, come on now. It's not worth the risk. You could seriously hurt someone.

  • Alright, for those of you that wanna know what Killer is all about, it's like this y'all. c'mon. Killer is 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain and 100% reason to remember the game.

He doesn't need his 4k every match. He just wants to kill whether it's with M1 or the Powers. They feel so unlike every other Killer, alone. In spite of the fact that Survivors still think that they know 'em. But hook 'em, they know the code, it's not about the victory. It's all about the entity and making some noise. Bringing a Mori, making sure the Hex stays up. That means when you put it down, Surv's pickin' it up.

Who the heck is the Hag anyway? She's never really seen much. Never concerned with chases but still leavin' them hooked up. Humbled through opportunities, given despite the fact, that many misjudge her because she makes a livin' from laying traps. Put it together herself, now the picture connects. Never asking for Survivor nerfs, or to get some respect. She's only focused on the web she drew; her will is beyond reach. And now it all unfolds, the skill of an artist. This is 20% skill, 80% fear. Be 100% clear 'cause Freddy is ill.

Who would've thought that he'd be the one to set the forums in flames. Then have him wreckin' with Sloppy Butcher, Jump Rope and Swing Chains. Teleport back, dropped Pop, took the slowdown perks. Unlike Nurse mains, Freddy has the stupidest VS. This dude is the truth, now everybody be givin' him nerf posts. His hate's through the roof; I heard he hookin' the SWF too. This is 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 50% pleasure, 5% pain and a 100% reason to disconnect from the game.

They call him Oni, he's sick, and he plays kinda like Mike. After the campfire he's slow, then you M1 Survivors to snow (ball). Not a traditional Samurai; he's an Oni; a demon. Survivors want to match with and Trappers hope to be him. Power takes years in the makin' patiently waitin' to blow, now the revival of Yamaoka's takin' over the globe. He's got an ancestral line; her power is equally cool. You won't believe the kind of kills that come out of this kid's tools.

She's not your usual mindgame or juke. She knows how to work the power she's got, even ignoring the (pallet) drop. She often gets a comment on her rage. People keep asking her, "Was it a given at birth, or does it come from the nurturing?" No, she's livin' proof Kazan was speakin' the truth. You'll hear the buzzin' quicker with her Bloody Hair Brooch. Rin and her line are known around as one of the best, dedicated to what they do and give a hundred percent.

Don't forget Trapper, nobody really knows how or why he works so hard. It seems like he's never got time, because he picks up the traps to place them every time. And I've seen him at work when that trap goes off in his mind. It's like a design is written in his head every time, before he even knows about the Key or Borrowed Time. And those Add Ons he runs with, the Perks he assigns? Ridiculous, without even trying, how does he do it? It's 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 50% pleasure, 5% pain and a hundred percent reason to remember the game.

(This is apparently what happens during long lobbies/load times when you drink and DBD, remember to consume alcohol responsibly. I wanted to improve the last part more, but I'm not a Trapper. Pun intended. )

I understand, but like I said before the killer didn't catch me and I made it out. I was just trolling the killer and trying to waste his time because I'm pretty sure that wasn't his first or will be his last time camping and tunneling survivors, so I figured I'll just waste his time so he couldn't start his next match of camping and tunneling, he just so happened to come back and get a hit off me and then I exited the match, their was no loss for me, only for him and his 1k

No, I get it. I am not saying that you're the bad guy at all or defending the Wraith's actions, I'm just pointing out that there is a vastly different perspective from both sides during a match and that there is no justification for rude behaviour regardless. Even if he's a jerk, that doesn't make it justified.

Especially since what you see during the match is often completely different to what a killer does. Like, is it possible that the Wraith accidentally kept "tunneling" this Survivor because they were just performing badly and making their location obvious/running directly in front of him? Or perhaps he wasn't camping, only responding to the hook save while he had no other information on the map? Maybe he followed the Hooked Surv after the save only because he lost sight of the rescuer?

And this goes for Survivor's too. For example. Maybe he's not a toxic flashlight bully, but the Killer just stupidly keeps picking up his downed targets right next to them? Perhaps it wasn't a gen rush, but the Killer just left 2-3 Survivors to have free reign over the map and they obviously did their objective? You can't ask a Killer to just let you go free anymore than you can ask a Survivor to not save his team.

Again, I am not saying that you're wrong about the Wraith being a bad person. People are just quick to throw the "toxic" label around and do not consider the other side's perspective at all.

  • I think it's actually fun since it gives people options outside of their mechanics and adds a little spice to the game. Want to be sneaky and secretly do gens or be less visible to Survivors as stealth killers? You can just dress in the darker clothes. Want to grab the attention of the Killer to bait loops or use bright Killer skins to make them think you're just arrogant? Done, just pay them money.

I will always choose a Claudette to chase if I see two Survivors though, since they are really cheeky and very hard to find when you've been drinking.

I wish I knew how to record my gameplay in dbd, I swear I just got hit by a wraith and I was literally ten feet away, I made it out the gate before people start complaining about I must've gotten clapped, actually I was teasing the killer because he camped and tunnelled the same survivor until she died and he was a rank 5, I thought a rank 5 would know how to play the game a little better then to have to resort to that type of gameplay, so I purposely waited and was going to waste his time until the last minute before the game timer ended, unfortunately he saw me before i can let the game timer get any lower, I waited for him to uncloak and charge at me and I feel like I've been playing this game long enough to know the distance between the killer and the survivor to make them miss especially with sprint burst, but no type of sprint burst can fix the latency issue in this game it actually seems like its getting worse and I guarantee will be the driving factor if this game dies

Recording won't prove anything though, it's just a bug and one that's known at that. From the Wraith's perspective (as in, on his screen) you were gloating about your victory in the typical Survivor fashion and then he caught you fairly before you escaped. On his screen you were close enough to hit, but on yours there was a longer distance. He didn't do anything wrong at the end of the match.

He might have been doing the things you mentioned, but you should have just left the match and not been rude about it. Be the change that you want to see in the community. Toxic responses to toxic behaviour doesn't stop it whatsoever, just adds more toxic behaviour to the game and heavily encourages toxic responses. It's a loop, or whatever.

  • I honestly thought Demogorgon was low to mid tier (I haven't bought him yet) due to finicky Shred mechanics/just okay teleports and put him with Clown, while the Billy respect is respect for those few who can actually pull off the trick shots and not just playing Billy in general if that makes sense.

I suppose you could say that's splitting hairs, but I reckon that's respect for a player's skill and not the Killer.

Sorry to say that spirit players aren’t the most respected in the community

None of the Killers are respected though, so it doesn't matter. It's really just Nurse because they can insult Spirit mains more by making the comparison and actual low tiers like Clown who indirectly earn respect just because they're not running meta, everyone else is just a case by case basis.

Anyway for me, it's anybody doing well as someone like Huntress without a mouse and Killers who actually try unique builds instead of always running the meta.

Everything should be on a trial basis before it's fully implemented. The issue with that is that BHVR does these trails, and then manages to break it before they implement it into the live game.

To be a bit more specific, he shouldn't be barred from using it and approaching a hook WHILE using it. He just shouldn't be able to charge it up near a hooked survivor. Charging near empty hooks is fine. Charlotte and Victor can switch freely near hooks, provided there's no survivor on it.

If he can just charge up the saw outside and follow cheeky Survivors in to the restricted zone then it simply will not stop facecamping at all. They'd just figure out the distance and wait there, I think you are underestimating how much that man can fly given the right addons. Not to mention it would just make those toxic Bubba's slug and stand over you instead. I guess that's slightly less oppressive though?

I think the fix is to treat him the same way they treat killers like Charlotte and Victor. You can't hook a survivor, stand by the hook, and switch between the two. Bubba should probably not be able to use his ability when too close to a hook either. Then he can chain kill idiots all grouping up all he likes, but can't face-camp someone with an insta-down charged and ready to plow through the person doing the save, a protection perk, and then the person he just hooked. Again, I don't care if killers want to camp; perks were created to counter that strategy, but allowing killers to simply ignore those perks is ridiculous. We'd like variety in gameplay too. BHVR appears to be pushing survivors into a position of simply shutting up and doing gens. If a killer chases you, you just have to go down and accept whatever they choose to do with you. If they want to slug you, accept it. Hook camp? Accept it. The counter is that you shouldn't have gone down, but you didn't really have a choice in the matter, as chases inherently favor the killer, so if you're a new survivor, I guess your enjoyment of the game is going to suck. If you're an experienced survivor, you're just going to get more experienced killers that will still use those same cheesy tactics.

That's actually an interesting idea, but I'd like it to be on a trial basis before a full implementation (one that works, not their current one). There is very high potential for Survivors to abuse that by running to hooks for protection during a chase (it would have to stop his chainsaw outright or it will not work at all as a way to stop facecamping) or some other unforeseen perk combination that drags Bubba from Mid Tier to the bottom.

I would like to point out that Bubba only ignores the perks that activate during the injured state though, and that this change would screw regular Leatherface mains out of punishing survivors who rush hooks immediately while he is still around. (The minute this change happens you can bet that every Survivor will immediately start to bully all Bubbas).

My Hag tip is to honestly don't play her lol

She is everything that is wrong with this game lol

Out of curiosity, what do you find so bad about her? Seems pretty fair to have a garbage M1 Killer who relies on strategy and predictions to win, I would've thought everyone would love Hags since people seem to always pull the "Nurse isn't baloney because she takes skill to hit you" card when insulting Spirit

That's why they reworked him. Again, I believe he needed a rework, but something that would actually focus on actual gameplay, instead of siting in front of a hook with a free win because he can instantly down everyone in the area at once. People talk about him being special because his ability can't be controlled by survivors, but his ability completely controls whether survivors can even attempt a hook save, regardless of what perks are being run. Hook camping should be counter-able, period. I don't care if people want to do it; they're perfectly entitled, but there should be counters to it. People say hook camping is a strategy, but when two remaining survivors playing against a camping bubba decide to "strategize" by staying hidden for the rest of the match, instead of working on Gens so the killer can down and camp them too, it's reportable.

You are absolutely correct that there needs to be something you can do about toxic players, but you can't balance a Killer around people like that anymore than you can balance Solo Queue Survivors around the playstyles of SWF. You cannot give Survivors a super strong option to specifically defeat him either, since that would screw over regular Bubba mains AND every other Killer.

It's true that Preventing chainsaw from being able to chain or hit Survivors twice in one swing would stop Bubba Facecamping, but it would also ruin him for the people who play him normally. I don't know the solution personally, but I do not think they should make drastic changes based solely on people NOT playing the game normally.

Also for the record, if you know it's Bubba that you're facing and you save the Survivor while he's still within walking distance or inside his Terror Radius it is not camping whatsoever and you are just a moron who failed your friend. Wait a little bit, guys. Only a goodie two shoes Killer main would just give you a pass for such a silly decision.

  • I feel like Egyptian and Scarecrow styles are already covered by The Plague and The Blight respectively, they'd just need special skins like adding Anubis Plague and I guess just add straw to any Blight outfit.

A werewolf style killer would be very cool however, I don't really know what he would do that's unique to him though. Oni already does the transformation+rushdown role that's usually taken by werewolves and other killers like Ghostface/Myers use the stalking/hunting gimmicks. Maybe he gets some weird gimmick that makes him unable to find Survivors by a lot of the normal means, but instead follows scent trails and sound cues only like an animal? Maybe his Obsessions give off a trail, but regular Survivors are harder to track.

That idea has very high potential to be rubbish for the Killer or unfair to the Survivors though.

Thisis a video of Otz reviewing another streamers Hag game. As I recall he goes into alot of depth. You might find this helpful.

Otz rambles a bit too much for my taste, but I have learnt some good stuff from him all the same.Followed the video to Michi's actual Hag guide though, thank you. That High Ground trap is both stunningly beautiful and absolutely horrifying.

  • Thank you all for the tips, I really appreciate the advice and I'll be sure to check out the channels you guys recommended. It will be painful no longer having the trusty old M1 chases to fall back on, but I am sure it'll be fun.

Don't know how to quote everyone without making a long post, so I hope you see my appreciation.

I've noticed it as well. I get tunneled, camped, nodded at, slapped repeatedly on hook, or lleft to bleed out. No, I don't usually bm the killer. It's gotten very unfun since the update. I'm only playing because I purchased the Rift for that sweet Felix outfit. 😆

Why is nodding to the Survivors considered toxic? I've been doing it this whole time as a "That was a good chase, mate." sort of gesture or a self affirmation like "You are a strong Killer who deserves these Bloodpoints" when I finally hook someone, I didn't think anyone would think it was rude.

Is shaking your head "no" to a downed/hooked Survivor when they do something stupid or mean to other Survivors toxic too?

  • 1) They consider them unfair and/or no fun to play against, however I don't really think they have a leg to stand on when complaining about most of the Killers. I will agree that Spirit badly needs something done though and I want that change to come as much as all her haters, even if I love everything about her and also know that they won't compensate her with any meaningful buffs to map pressure when they inevitably nerf her one good aspect into the ground. I have no place to comment about Freddy either since I don't own him, but from what I've seen he should at least be investigated.

    2) They are just the usual horrible people who play online games, nothing more and nothing less. Not Survivors in general, it's just specifically the types you mentioned that are garbage.
