dang, even Bubba is messed up?
Yeah, I think it's an old bug that seems to have appeared again.
-
The whole thing is a complete buggy mess at the moment. Played four survivor games this evening as Taurie, in two of them the game crashed and kicked me from the match the second I started healing myself with a med kit.
Switched to killer as there seemed no point playing survivor if it was going to keep crashing. Played as Bubba and in the second game my chainsaw just stopped working halfway through the match so I was stuck as an M1 killer the rest of the game.
Just turned it off after that. No point in playing. The game needs fixing desperately.
-
I've still not even played a match on this "map" yet.
-
Had a lot of funny situations recently running Power Struggle, Flip Flop and Plot Twist, with pretty much anything else as the 4th perk depending on mood or challenges I'm currently doing.
-
In theory it should be a fun mode where you try and make use of whatever cards you're delt and get use out of perks you never use, bringing in some varied gameplay.
In reality, it's awful and once someone is hooked, it's proxy camp and tunnel as its very unlikely the survivor will have a perk to combat it. Likewise, survivors normally ignore their perks and just bring syringes, BNPs or styptics and slam gens. Just becomes totally one dimensional and no fun at all. Why this mode has come back again so soon, I don't really know?
I love using unusual perks and making builds around them, but I won't be touching this mode just like I didn't last time. It's just zero fun unfortunately.
-
Dark Sense wasn't too bad for me. Luckily got it within a few games one evening against an Executioner on a MacMillans map. Think I took Dark Sense, Deja Vu, Bond and possibly Prove Thyself with a Commodius. The key is you just need to be on a gen when it completes. Obviously you also need several things to go your way, but with the HUD display now, that makes it easier to know what is happening elsewhere.
-
I did that trophy just after Predator got buffed. Got a decent amount of free crow hits on injured survivors after hitting them with my weapon, and then "accidently" losing them around structures or through windows whilst they were injured. Often they thought I'd really lost them but as soon as their aura is revealed send a crow onto them.
-
I think the more blood gens are done community wide, the more the BP will go up from doing them? At the moment it's 0% but will eventually be 500% once the top target is hit.
-
They basically do in a way. Just like every other PvP game, Warzone, Fortnite, Fall Guys, and countless others, you have a battle pass or Rift in DBD. Those that are loyal and play enough each cycle are rewarded with enough in game currency to get the next one without spending any real money.
-
They are 99% of the time killer perks in the survivors slot.
The crows one is probably the worst perk in the game because of the cost of activating it and then being broken permanently.
The gen one I tested for a couple of days when it first came out. The only use it had was if the survivor team had 3 genned themselves at the last gen. Sneak off to the basement while the killer is fixated on the 3 gen and it can help get the last gen done. Twice it turned the game in my testing but it's too specific a situation to be worth running. Do it straight at the start and you are asking the killer to get you out the game and make it a 3v1 ASAP.
-
Cash grab 100%. Lots of games do this. When Warzone was riding the crest of the Lockdown wave, you had a skin that was almost impossible to see in certain situations and extremely OP guns that you could only buy in the store. They got nerfed eventually but I'm sure they monitor when sales are started to drop and then do it.
Even if BHVR are less blatnent with it and nerf the Ghoul this or next week, this chapter must have made way more than the other recent ones. The sheer number of games against the ghoul, feels like 3 in 4, compared with how often you faced the likes of Singularity, Vecna, Dracula ect in the days after release tells you all you need to know.
I fully expect something similar or even worse to happen when FNAF comes along.
-
I'm yet to escape against the new killer, but only seen one person kill themself on hook straight away so nowhere near SM levels so far!

RPD East Wing and RPD West Wing are distinct maps. The maps that were removed are the ones that are just remixes of the original.
OK, thanks. That could have been extremely annoying depending on which side you are playing at the time!
Won't be sad to see the back of a lot of the varients. I hated the Family Residence second version!
-
Is there only one RPD now? And if so which one is it?
-
For a week or two now, solo queue has been treating me very well. I'm getting some good team mates, had some of those silly, laugh out loud situations occurring, that we play the game for and have escaped way more than not, mostly multiple escapes.
I know this probably won't last forever, and with the upcoming update who knows what will happen, but at the moment I'm in a very happy place with solo queue, probably the best in years. I'm honestly not joking, and if I knew that a month later I'd be saying this, I'd probably have checked myself into a mental hospital.
It's other survivors that get the most kills in this game, not Blight or Billy, Nurse or Spirit.
-
I played 5 survivor matches on the first evening it was out. Did the escape with 4 random perks challenge on the current tome by escaping through the hatch. Every single match was camp and tunnel at 5 gens.
Havent touched the mode since and in normal mode have had some of the most fun I've had in solo queue for a very long time, because I've started using a certain build and last night had the funniest game of DBD I've ever had in 3.5 years of playing the game! Against a Nurse. That took us to Midwich!
But yeah, despite Chaos Shuffle being a fun mode in theory, in reality it's become absolutely terrible and worse every time it's come back.
-
I'd leave it for now and next time 2v8 is live, do it then. It's one of the many challenges that are much easier to do in that game mode.
-
Next time 2v8 is out, do it in that. One of the many challenges that is a lot easier in that.

I would like to have a mode without perks / items or addons.
It wouldn't be much different to what we have now with Chaos Shuffle. Killers aren't using their Shattered Hope's and Cruel Limits or whatever they get now and just tunnelling at 5 gens. And survivors aren't sitting in the basement with the invocation Crow perk. It would play out almost identically to what is happening now.
Problem is when modifiers or events are on they are sweaty as possiblee, the quality of solo queue drops even further and people that play solo queue take breaks for the duration of the modes or events and play other games. Then the matchmaking and queue waiting times go out of whack and it turns into an even more unenjoyable mess of mismatches and/or painfully bad matches.
-
My worry is that normal solo queue tends to be even worse than usual whilst events and modifiers are on. Less people queuing so MMR tends to be slacker.
Haven't played today but have heard it's just Chaos Tunnel again like last time as killers know there's only a small chance survivors will have got any anti tunnel perks. Add this to them having to try and get by with something like Shattered Hope and Monstrous Shrine or something equally useless instead of any gen defence or aura reading and what else are people going to do except tunnel?
Chaos Shuffle was good the first time but honesty has got worse and worse every time it's been out. I'll see what it's like tomorrow, but not hopeful at all.
-
She's just weird to play. One game can be fine, the dog does exactly what you tell it, but then the next game it disappears for a while for no apparent reason, gets stuck somewhere, it just refuses to go the direction you tell it and sometimes doesn't even do anything at all even though you've pressed everything exactly the same as what worked perfectly the previous match.
Just really frustrating to play and seems to have completely vanished from my survivor games recently, so other people must be having similar issues.
-
There's a reason someone got close to 2000 games before someone got out of a gate against his blight!
-
It comes down to solo queue vs SWF. An even half decent SWF with a semi decent knowledge of the game mechanics stacking up on coordinated 2nd chance perks is going to be a massive pain for most killers, whereas a strong killer running meta that's needed to keep up with SWF stacked with 2nd chance stuff will absolutely stomp a solo queue of randomly put together players that can't communicate and don't have a clue what the other 3 are running.
The game is a never ending circle of solo queue getting stomped by meta killers and killer losing to SWF stacked with survivor meta and being on comms which in effect gives them several other perks as well as completely nullifies any killer stealth perks.
I play both sides and you can tell within one minute how a game will go and what you are playing against or with.
-
Also from what I wrote a couple of posts up, hopefully the upcoming Chaos Shuffle won't allow everyone to bring items. With the amount of blood points boosts from bribing people to play survivor in 2v8, the amount of strong items and add ons people will have and bring to compensate not being able to choose perks, it'll completely break the mode and just make it miserable, just like what happened last time.
Make everything truly random. Please!
-
It's all a big butterfly effect. Go back 6-9 months or whenever it was that survivor levels stopped being shown in lobbies. P100s survivors went from being very difficult to get into a game due to lobby dodging. Now the level is hidden, you can run around with unlimited easy access to iri add ons as survivor.
This narrowed the viable killers down at a higher level to only a few, especially Blight and Billy, typically running exactly the same builds pretty much. Against this you pretty much have to run full meta, strongest stuff and SWF to have a chance. Then the non meta, M1 more casual killer players get destroyed when they do encounter this stuff. Whether that's due to the failings of the MMR, who knows? Then they start having to use full meta more and more as they keep encountering this stuff and losing.
Then the Billy/Blights with full meta encounter a more casual lobby and destroy them at 4 or 5 gens. These survivors then start getting sick of it and run full meta and then destroy the more casual killers they come across.
But you now have a large amount of players caught in a never ending circle of run full meta on either side or get more and more matches where they get absolutely annihilated.
Im old enough and played enough different games through the years where I try and go against the meta but that results in way more losses than wins. I accept that now and have done for years.
Obviously it isn't quite as black and white and you'll have people that can still do OK and I'm not at all blaming P100 survivors, it comes from both sides not wanting to lose. I just trace the moment they hid survivor levels in lobbies to when the amount of viable stuff to use in game dropped massively.
It happens in all games I've played online. People don't want to lose constantly. They either go full meta or the more casual and newer players aren't as invested and just give up altogether.
Just one big vicious, never ending circle.

Just wait for all the new FNAF fans getting curbstombed by smurfs. That's gonna be one hell of a chapter.
I don't know how any new players could come into the game now just with the shear number of things they need to learn and how many thousands of hours it takes to become even just mediocre at the game.
-
At one point probably after they nerfed COB/Eruption/Overcharge, it felt like there was a lot more variety in builds on the survivor side especially, that were viable.
Lately though, it feels like that variety has narrowed drastically. I play survivor and I play against nothing but Blight, Billy and Nurse who seems back on the menu after not seeing her much recently. The Blights and Billy's have Pain Res, Grim Embrace, Dead Mans Switch and another tracking perk without fail.
Play killer and it's nothing but Syringes, Styptics, Flashlights, Flashbangs and every second chance perk going.
It's just a vicious circle. One breeds the other. If you don't bring these things, you have a way greater chance of losing. I hate playing meta and therefore I lose a lot of games nowadays! Has gradually happened over time in every PvP game I've played and it'll only get worse until all the casual and new players completely dry up. Feels like we are getting there already.
-
I had a hacking Nurse today, and whilst playing killer last night there were a couple of extremely suspect survivors.
One guy had Sprint Burst all the time. Seemed to have it on demand consistently whenever I approached him. Another I managed to kill as doctor. He was extremely bad and didn't seem to understand that Doctor could stop him vaulting windows and pallets! But seemed to be able to do other things I've not seen the best survivors pull off. Was just weird. Something was very off with him.
Does seem to be on the rise from what I'm seeing.

You realize that this perk on Clown will absolutely guarantee a hit now, right? What if it stacks with bottle? Have fun walking at 3.04 m/s for an potentially 5-7 seconds. That's a guaranteed hit every time.
If the survivor is 16m ahead, predrops a pallet and moves away from it and into a bottle, and if the clown is invigorated, if both parties keep holding W the clown will catch up at around the time all buffs and debuffs wear off. 7.92 seconds.
From 16m away. That's crazy. I don't even want to get into all the other stuff like Scamper, Spirit Fury + Hubris,…Have to see how it goes but could see them changing it in the future to pallet stuns instead of just pallet drops. Wonder how it would pair with Hubris also if they did that though?
-
I think it would be bad for the game in general f it bacame permanent. I think a significant number of people don't even touch the game when 2v8 is up so wouldn't have even seen the poll.
1v4 is even worse than usual to play when 2v8 is up. It throws up massive mismatches and as a mediocre killer you end up playing against full meta builds with syringes, BNP and stiptics pretty much every match. And if it isn't that it's people who seem to have about 2 hours on the game and it's no fun at all beating them and probably putting them off the game for life. At least now we have half a chance of decent close matches.
Three weeks of 2v8 is way to long. A weekend per month or something would be fine in my opinion but three straight weeks is overkill. They pretty much have to bribe enough survivors to keep killer queues even remotely playable and that's a stretch.
Ive nothing against the mode but just don't find much longevity in it and after a day or two just gets very boring. Just the fact it makes a lot of tome challenges easier to do is what kept me playing it in small doses.
-
I did the hatch escape one at Christmas. Didn't go in with a key but ran Ace in the Hole, Appraisal, Plunderers Instinct and Left Behind. Didn't feel too bad to do because you get quite a few decent items each match and more often than not you would get a Purple or Iri key at some point, as well as decent Toolboxes and Medkits for you and the team to use. This way the killer doesn't suspect it as they don't see the key at the start and with Left Behind it's easy to find the hatch without taking a hatch offering. Still need a lot of things to go in your favour but wasn't too awful to do and don't sandbag the team too much with all the strong items you get.
-
Just a thought. The use Spine Chill one, if you get hooked and someone Shoulders the Burden on you, and you escape with zero hook states, do you complete the challenge?!
-
I don't mind it on either side. Starstruck Nurse and a few other killer builds that were very difficult to play against on Midwich have either been nerfed or killed completely. Plus the added stuff in corridors has made it harder for the likes of Billy, Blight, Wesker and Huntress so for survivor it's no longer the graveyard it once was, especially when a killer took you there.

I don't know what was even the mentality behind that. They basically counted on you getting a match where you have to carry hardcore, and that your team and you actually stay alive long enough for you personally to get 4 done, but not so much that your teammates end up doing gens. It's really a convoluted set of conditions.
Some of the early tome challenges are brutal, and changes to DBD over the years have made them much harder, but that isn't the worst one. HUD information actually helps so much with it, and with smaller maps in general now it's much easier to do now than it once was. Still obviously can be a pain though.
Im done with 2v8 so I'm going to try and get some of the more obscure ones done the next couple of days as at the moment you seem to have a much better chance of getting a stronger survivor team.
Also when you can see each others perks, theres going to always be at least 1 of the 4 survivors that isn't going to want to play with people only using Self Care or using Spine Chill, Premonition or whatever else. I always try to have the rest of the build synergising with the obscure perks that is geared to trying to help win the game. You often have the element of surprise because the killer never expects a 0.2% pick rate perk! I certainly won't be throwing even if I get hooked trying to do the Spine Chill one.

Try for it in 2v8 while you still can.
How do you take Dark Devotion into 2v8?!
I was quite lucky. Did this one recently and only took an hour or two. Got it against a Pyramid Head on one of the MacMillans maps. Definitely take something like Bond so you can see where survivors are on gens. Maybe Prove Thyself and/or a Commudious for extra speed. You only need to be on the gen when it's completed. Think I sprint burst and arrived on the last gen with half a second to spare!
-
My Wraith and a random Wesker managed an 8k with 6 gens left. Thats the best I've seen in my matches.
Got so bored of 2v8 survivor, I was playing Football Manager and loading into killer matches at the same time!
-
Happens at the start when everyone is on the same side of the map. Everyone kind of presumes someone else is closer and you get left there for an eternity. Worst is when it happens on RPD with two killers playing together. Have seen one attack the fire escape side and the other (Billy) stayed in the main hall and stopped anyone getting across to the other side of the map. Two people died in cages before anyone was able to get past the Billy alive. Was allowed to happen because everyone was slow to react to what had happened and was a case of "there must be someone closer", until people started realising.
Probably was the one plus of having bots. They would go for the save straight away in this situation.
-
Hate Hawkins as both sides.
And as survivor, Azarovs is just stupid. There's nothing worse in solo queue then being hooked on one side of the map and the other 3 survivors are at the opposite side all leaving the rescue to each other. The killer has BBQ or something else that tells him all three survivors are at the other side. And once the other survivors do realise, the killer is just waiting around in the middle to scare anyone off trying to get across to help. A massive win win for the killer as one person gets one hooked while the others are shutting off one side of the map and helping creating a big fat three gen at the other side that they will never break with 3 people.
And Forgotten Ruins is just dreadful. Hate it.
-
I can see both sides of it. I would say no solo queue player wants a return to the days of two years ago when first The Knight and then Skull Merchant would be dragging games out for an hour.
On the other hand I've been there when using a weaker M1 killer with an undetectable build with perks such as Tinkerer, Unforseen, Trails of Torment and the like, and you come up against a SWF on comms that totally destroys any stealth even on a map with plenty of cover. Those games if you have a build like that, you are basically playing perkless and the gen kicks go in no time at all and you know you have zero chance of doing anything.
Has turned into a feature that rarely comes into play in solo queue because 3 gen perks like Cob, Overcharge and old Eruption have been long since changed anyway, but gives SWF even more advantage against a killer they probably destroy even without the limit.

she’s one of if not the hardest killer to learn and that tanks her quite a bit…most killers you can get at least a 1-2k picking them up, but until someone starts getting her blinks down it’s basically 4e.
Agree with that. I was pretty terrible when I tried to play her to get the trophies associated with her. Several of the killers I got adept the very first game I ever played with them. Certainly not with Nurse!

yea I can agree with him being the best killer in the game rn simply because of his consistency. I think once time goes on we’ll see more and more blight nerf posts like chucky and SM to the point where the devs will inevitably have to do something about his basekit and speed addons. Currently on nightlight blight is the 2nd most popular killer only under Freddy because Freddy just got his rework. I guarantee if Freddy didn’t get his rework then blight would be the most picked killer rn. Yea there’s a tome challenge for blight but that doesn’t justify the absurd amount of blights running the same addons and pretty much same builds (all meta). I hope sometime during 2025 Blight and Nurse will finally get their long awaited nerfs to bring them in line with the roster.
Thing about Nurse is, I barely see her anymore, at least compared to the amount of Blights! I play against them occasionally but just feels like her pick rate has gone through the floor. Plus, apart from the idea of nerfing her aura reading abilities while charging blinks, I don't know what else they can really do with her. At one point she was clear as the most powerful killer but she has been reigned in a bit when they changed her blinks to special attacks and killed Starstruck Nurse for one.
Im sure she had the lowest kill rate in some of the kill stats BHVR released last year so I doubt they feel the need to touch her any time soon. A good Nurse is an absolute wrecking ball, but there must be a lot of bad ones to give her such a low kill rate!
-
I think we are at the point where he is clear as the strongest killer now ahead of Nurse.
I have been facing a large number of Blights in solo queue myself, recently and if the player is even half decent, it is more often than not an easy win for the killer. An open map, even more so.
If they are running speed add ons and something along the lines of Lethal, Pain Res, Grim Embrace and one of BBQ, DMS or possibly Eruption, Surge, you'll be lucky to do more than a single gen because it just turns into a game of blocked gens and hook exchanges or slug/hook another one and return to the hook before the original person is rescued if survivors are slow.
He is extremely strong and I'm not surprised someone was able to get nearly 2000 wins in a row with him and was only stopped by a cracked SWF specifically hunting him down.
At least the games are over quickly and it doesn't last for 30 minutes or more like Skull Merchant used to. That's probably how he's been able to avoid a major nerf!
-
It's not the queue times that is the problem in 1v4, it's the complete mismatches that get thrown up when events and modifier modes are active. Most of the matches seem to be 1 sided stomps and aren't enjoyable either way, and probably not for either side involved.
-
Played against that a couple of times before. It's just the worst thing ever. Would take 10 games in Eyrie of Crows over that any day!
Ever since, if I've seen a Badham map offering paired with basement in killer shack offering, the power to my Internet has strangely gone down each time. Can't think why?
Also with map offerings soon to be nerfed, I won't be going in to a killer game without using the map prevention offering. Everyone will be trying to use them up whilst they still can.
-
Sounds like the biggest changes coming since the mass perk update, what, nearly three years ago now?
Some of these could really help solo queue but will see how it pans out in the coming months.......
-
I think there was a clip of a Freddie doing that in the past week or so in the normal mode and then was able to walk through the exit gate and pick up the survivor past the gate!
-
I get what you mean. Had the same thing happen this weekend on RPD. Must have been two killers playing together. A mobile one (Blight I think) got an early down at the fire escape side and the cage went to the other side. The other (Billy) camped the middle hall with his chainsaw and two people died on one cage state before we could get past the hall. Probably a lot down to the fact we messed up as a team and didn't realise what was possibly happening straight away. In that situation you have to act quickly, but didn't realise that nobody was there or could get across.
It's a similar thing to Azarovs on 1v4. I hate that map as survivor. If one person gets hooked on one side and the killer knows the other 3 survivors are at the other side of the map, they can sit in the narrow middle part of the map and that is game over if the survivors don't realise what's going on and act quickly and as a team. Which, as we know, can be a big problem in solo queue!
-
Events in general, not just this current 2v8 one, are going on way too long or feel like they do.
As a solo player, you have little choice but to play the events. The match making in 1v4 gets completely destroyed and way too many games are one sided stomps. I play normal mode at the moment as survivor and more than likely it's a Blight that destroys the lobby or some Knockout build that completely crushes the solo non comms lobby and the game is miserable. Play it as killer and again, you play against the worst survivors you've ever seen or it's a P100 SWF on comms with all the syringes, BNPs and second chance perks possible! There is no in between while events and modifiers are on and it really isn't enjoyable either way.
I'd much prefer these events and game modes to be Thursday evening to Monday evening things at most. Enough to keep you playing but not outstaying their welcome. You just know they'll end up extending 2v8 again, and I don't think I'm alone in being more than over it already, before it's even halfway through it's scheduled run.
-
It is very killer sided most of the way up at the moment. However play against top survivors or a decent SWF and then see what happens!
You have to play extremely evil, have a full meta build and then hope they make a few mistakes (usually involving being too altruistic towards the end of matches) otherwise you end up like a dog chasing its tail!
Beating a team like this is worth 100 wins against standard solo queue teams, especially if you don't have a great build and have to eat flashbang save after flashlight save after dead hard after syringe after BNP....... You get the idea!

2v8 is genuinely the most fun I've ever had playing DBD and I can't wait for it to become permanent, I will definitely spend way more time and money in this game when that happens.
Bots however have completely ruined the survivor experience in this mode and need to go. I don't want to play 2v6 and I am tired of getting sandbagged. Queue times are worse than ever as killer and even as survivor they take longer because people keep dodging lobbies or it sits there at 6 players waiting for much longer than it took to get in a match before.
If this ever becomes permanent, DBD will die a quick death. Have said that the past two times it was out.
There isn't enough variety in survivor gameplay. It gets old very quickly. It should be an occasional mode that releases over a weekend only, every couple of months maybe.
Its not even been out 48 hours yet and look at the response to it. Two weeks (or even more if it gets extended again) is doing so much damage to the health of the game and the effect it also has on the normal 1v4 is driving people away in droves this time around. The game cannot sustain it.
