Best thing to do is either play the games or watch walkthroughs of the first 3 games. The movie has some amazing atmosphere, but is also jumbled, and some of the script is jarring. Most of all though is that the Chapter is focused on the games, and the movie takes its own path and liberties with its characters.

Thanks watching a walkthrough sounds like a good idea. I'd love to play the games but don't have money for that right now.

The chapter is based on the first three games not the crappy movies.

Yeah I know but I don't have money for the games. The first movie is free on Crackle and the second in on Netflix so I figured watching them would at least give me a sense of what's going on

  • NOED- It's such a cheap, crutch perk. Yeah you can cleanse totems and not worry about it but it just takes time away from doing things I'd rather be doing. And I hate dying to a killer who wouldn't have been able to without it.

HeadOn-Just an obnoxious, troll perk. 90% of the times I've been stunned by it were for no reason other than to troll. Didn't even know anyone was there then BAM.

Killer: BBQ (aura reading) - it's a cheap perk that allows Killers to skip tracking for survivors and enter chase immediately

    Survivor: any second-chance perk

How is it cheap? Sure it's annoying but it's easy to counter. Just get in a locker when the killer picks up a survivor

  • As survivor I try to hide when I should run and put as much distance between me and the killer as possible

I see that matchmaking is so broken the devs hid ranks saying it was a mistake they could be seen. There is no way a rank 5 should be getting ranks 10 lower, I was playing solo (rank 15), and the matchmaker is supposed to stop at six ranks higher (rank 9 I guess). The other option is to remove SWF from ranked matches. If players "want to play together" they can do so using KYF only.

Its bad enough the stupid rift challenges are making it impossible to have a normal game as Killers are desperate trying to get 4 kills in the basement today.

In future rifts consider challenges that dont cause players to ruin the match for others be they killer or survivor. Personally I would like to see more skill (less luck) based challenges. Example escape the match using no perks, escape the match using only No Mither, for Killer sacrifice three players using no perks or addons.

Aren't you being a little dramatic? I'm rank 8 but because I play with my rank 16 gf I end up in matches with killers closer to her rank but it's not like that makes the matches a guaranteed win for me

  • To anyone saying that camping is a strat, it's only when you do it under the right circumstances. When you're only camping to make people mad or incite some kind of reaction, that's just being toxic.

  • @Zixology said:

Honestly, when that happens, I just let myself die. No offense to my team, but I hope he gets them too. The sooner people like that get sent to Red Rank Hell, the better.

That's actually a really unique perspective on it

It was countered correct by knocking out gens. Don’t give killers like this any angry messages or salt, it’s what they are looking for.

That's exactly what I told my Gf who was playing with me. I was the first one he caught and she desperately wanted to save me but I kept telling her to stick to gens to punish that behavior. Luckily the two randoms were smart enough to do the same.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Nope it's not bannable and just has to be accepted.

Insidious leatherface in the basement is a classic one used for camping and has been a strat since he was released in 2017.

A tip is never to send messages. Let it go and move on it's just a game after all.

My issue isn't the camping itself or that it happened to me, it's the fact that he does it specifically to be toxic, that he clearly does it all the time and that's he's blatantly hoping players trash talk him just so he can report them. Also he's not using insidious, in the basement or trying to win. Just being toxic

I think that the dead by daylight teams decision to start an official forum was a mistake.

There is so very few positive posts on here and I feel like it will spook the devs into changing the game in a way that only caters to the small % of whiners that post about how the game is "broken"

Dont get me wrong the game is not perfect but you start hearing "this killer is OP" this perk is weak, this feature is broken. Then you start making the game for the worst part of the community.

Look at data, take critique from content creators that use the game as a means of livelihood. And trust your gut devs.

Dont cater to the trolls, The salty babies that want the game easy and toxic. The ones that will never be happy and feel entitled to get there way everytime.

The negative post are annoying but the Devs have enough data to know which complaints are worth looking into and which ones aren't

  • My only problem was with the one bugged challenge I encountered (15 iridescent emblems) and having to compete with other survivors for unhooks. Otherwise I think complaints against tome 3 were a little dramatic.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yeah I can't really see myself paying for premium again if I can't get to the last tier either through the challenges or grinding. A lot of these tome 3 and 4 challenges are asinine.

I've nearly completed all the tome 3 killer challenges and I'm on tier 61 of the rift. I really don't think we will need to fully complete the tomes to get all the rift rewards

You guys who claim DCs are okay are always so innovative with reasons to justify DCing against a mean, bad manner killer.

Less than one minute into a game, working on a gen with another survivor who gets stalked and downed by Ghostface... insta-DC. What terrible thing was the killer doing that made them screw the team over? He wasn't camping, literally never even got to hook them. He wasn't tunneling, literally the first person he downed. He wasn't using broken Prayer Beads, Iri hatchet, insta saw. He wasn't that terribly broken, over performing Spirit. Wasn't playing "boring forever freddy."

Are you sure it wasn't just a legitimate connection issue?

  • @will_i_am_14_85 said:

if the leaked challenges are the ones that will be in the Tome tomorrow I will only focus on those ones that can be done other multiple games, I won't stress over trying to get multiple basement hooks or flashlight saves in a single trial.

That one actually isn't too bad. Just bring Agitation, Iron grasp and monstrous shrine.

  • The thing with NOED is that it just feels so cheap. When you've worked hard the whole match then die right at the end because of a one shot perk that requires no skill to use it just sucks. Adrenaline is incredibly annoying but at least the survivors had to work towards that. With NOED the Killer just kinda has to hope all the totems don't get cleansed by the end of the game. But I honestly don't encounter it enough to get too upset about.

  • @liquidlight said:

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Those survivors are probably just freaking out and trying to zigzag their way to freedom not realizing you're trying to protect them.

Ok, I was starting to get worried because it happened a few times yesterday.

  • Wanting SWF nerfed or just tweaked isn't about being against survivors playing with friends or them having fun, it's about improving the killer experience. I'm not saying I deserve to win every single match I'm in but I've paid money for this just like the survivors did. Aren't I just as entitled to a fair and fun experience as they are? Going against a group of good survivors is a welcomed challenge but going against an optimal SWF is just overwhelming.
