  • They have confirmed it's a bug and are looking into the cause and how to fix it.

  • @DyingWish92 said:

This is insanely annoying. I'm encountering T&L walls that are completely blocked right next to the windows with junk!! What on earth happened to the maps with this update its infuriating. Yes I enjoy losing a chase because a piece of square of hay blocks me from downing a survivor, trash man!! Is this going to be patched in the next bug fix?!?!?

If they can determine the root cause of the bug, then it will likely be fixed.

If they can't, you might be suffering through it for a while.

  • Every time his chainsaw hits terrain, he needs to shout "mama mia" and throw tomato sauce everywhere.

  • Respond with "lol ok" until they get so heated they break their keyboard while punching in angry messages you could probably send to the FBI.

  • Balancing around the top wasn't as much of the issue imo as the rest of the game design. It promoted not getting chased if you didn't have a weapon as a teen. It promoted not engaging a teen with a weapon unless you could get a clear drop on them as the monster. Despite the objectives seeming to promote more interaction between the two sides, it actually discouraged it unless one side had a clear and major advantage. I feel the power dynamics were too extreme, which stemmed from the core gameplay design. Every engagement felt tense and, often, one-sided.

  • Anyone saying a killer should take a clearly rigged chase over an easy down is entitled.

  • VHS has a lot of things I don't like. It has a few I completely like. That said, the difficulty can be brutal. The monster being the target of the teens makes it so the monster needs to be ready to push aggressively or play hard defense at the drop of a hat. It's kind of playstyle whiplash. Also, tracking is much harder for the monster. Footprints only show up when a teen is injured, and are easy to miss if you aren't actively scanning for them. Combined with tons of LoS breaking and all maps being indoors, and you have a total hide and seek game with few hints. Teens turn corners and just vanish.

Monster powers often felt very short and blunt compared to other games. It always felt like they had no reach with attacks or abilities. Like everything had to be done while sniffing a teens back.

Teens either had a weapon and were fairly strong, or didn't and had to hide. Looping isn't as much of a thing. This made teen either feel powerful or hopeless based on what was in their hands. Jukes were much easier to pull off, though.

The customization and mini games were pretty good. I like that perks were not straight upgrades, rather playstyle modifications.

While the game may be balanced, it never felt like you could do much to turn a match. Early progress was what set the overall match. Upsets never seemed to be much of a thing when I played. Also, the match could totally stall if you had s monster that didn't want to try a play, and teens bunkering in a room with weapons.

I think the game had potential, but it's design limitations hurt its long term prospects.

  • I main Nea.

Her power to summon a pallet, drop it in the killers face, and then stand there menacingly as the killer questions their life choices is just too strong.

But seriously, I started as a Legion Main, but played survivor with friends. I got pretty decent at loops and dragging chases out, they complained about m1 being too strong and eventually stopped playing with me. I still enjoy making the killer work for their kill, though, so I ended up sticking with Nea.

  • Sounds like a Feng player, yup.

  • I'm fine, how are you?

    And the kids?

Did you get that thing done?

  • I don't use the same name in game as here, and I don't recall seeing anyone familiar, so no.

I'm extra terribly about checking killer names. I probably wouldn't notice that I knew the killer with how rarely I check their name.

  • Corrupt Intervention was listed as a good base kit candidate by someone else and I agree.

  • I honestly just don't like playing against Doctor. I have no actual issues when playing against him, save that I always seem to get tunneled/camped by Doctor players, but outside of that, I generally do just fine. I simply dislike playing against him. To me, he's more annoying than anything. I totally agree he is well balanced and perfectly fine, but that doesn't stop some part of me from going "Ugh" whenever I'm against him.

    What about me tho? xD

I didn't tunneled or camped a single survivor in any of these 4 matches in a row. And in all these 4 matches, I complimented them for actually giving me a challenge, but they just said: "Tryhard"... Excuse me?!

If you lose, you're a loser.

If you win, you're a loser.

If you call the other person a loser first, you're the winner, which means you won, which means you're a loser.

This gets really complicated after a bit...

  • Should have just played in ranked mode.

    Oh wait...

  • Garfield skin for Trapper.

    His traps are Lasagna.

His grunts are just him moaning "Monday..."

It's such a small thing but I hate being hooked and just hit over and over again. I have to have my wife hand cuff me to stop me from being radioactive, a joke, but seriously, stop it.

So, a single hit to stop the scream, sure. I can understand that. After that, I honestly just laugh that whatever I did got them to react that badly. I don't tbag, I don't flashlight spam, I just play normal. So if I upset the killer with that, it's because they're upset I spent so long outplaying them.

  • It goes both ways, honestly. I mostly play survivor now, less stress, but I used to main killer. The salt is real on both sides, but you have 4 survivors for every killer. Statistically, you're more likely to encounter survivors being rude based on numbers, but my guess is that the ratio of friendly to salty players is the same in both sides.

I get a lot of killers that are sore winners as well. Despite doing well, they have to try and throw snark around.

  • If the killer plays well, I tend to drop them a compliment in the post game chat. Most Killers take that at face value and smiles are shared, ggs and well wishing ensues. Some get salty for no reason. Survivors are the same way.

A lot of people playing this game need to chill out. It's a game.

I remember one time in rpd one of my teammqte swas hooked and the killer inmediately saw me and started chasing me all over the map.

While in chase, i could see with kindred a steve that was walking and hiding the entire game, not even unhooking even if the killer was on the other side of the map.

In endgame chat i asked him why was he letting everyone die and not helping and he answered: "I am new, i was scared".

    I felt so bad.

It was not long after RPD came out that DbD lost the Stranger Things license. So, that dude lucked out showing up and getting the Stranger Things DLC when he did, assuming he was telling the truth about being new. He got it just before the content was locked.

Nowadays I have no problems finding the gens as I know them by heart. Same goes for the general layout and I just very, very rarely get lost, BUT this map expertise was bought with endless frustration and manly tears, either by being send their by abusive bully squads who just wanted to torment me, or by myself, grinding down the escapes for Outbreak Breakout. Datum am I glad that that's finally over, even though I don't really feel joy, just ... emptiness. So in short, RPD does get better, but actually it doesn't.

The way I see it, I COULD learn to twist my dudely dude bits an entire 360 degrees to where it doesn't hurt anymore, but nah, I don't think I will.

    Same thought process.

  • Yes.

I might switch from Nea to Vittorio, and I will change my steam name to Max GigaChad.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets lost on RPD, as both survivor and killer. XD

BUDDY, RPD being a bad map is a hill I will fight on, die on, and you can bury me right on the top. My headstone will read "Nope, it still sucks".

  • I just got out of an RPD match where I basically bullied a Pig for the entire game. I wasn't even playing that well, the map just made it impossible for them to actually GET me. I also could NOT find a generator unless I used Bond to find someone already working on one.

I still hate it, both for survivor and killer.

I hope I never see that map again.

  • Dead Harder

    Activate-able Perk.

    You can take a beating.

When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.

    • Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
    • Avoid any damage during the Dash.

Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds

Dead Hard cannot be used when Exhausted.

    HEX: RUINER

A Hex that affects the Survivors' skills at repairing Generators.

All Survivors are affected by Hex: Ruin, which causes the following:

    • Good Skill Checks result in 3/4/5 % regression on the Generator.
    • Great Skill Checks grant 0 % bonus progression on the Generator.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

    Hmm, that all seems familiar...

It’s just really obnoxious and boring, and depending on the killer’s mobility, yes, it can be VERY unfair.

I wouldn't say unfair. More like "overly effective despite its ease and obviousness" out something similar.

Running forward shouldn't be seen as unfair. Just boring and a design flaw that it counters so many things.

I legit just wanna vault quick and over pallets. Give me the frenzy animation and take out the whole speed and deep wound and we're in business. Maybe even add a window vault cooldown so it can't be used in rapid quick succession, I guess. Would that be a better idea than what we have? Depending on what people think, you could also be able to kick pallets or choose to vault over them.

    WAIT.

    WAIT A MINUTE.

You might be on to something.

If Feral Frenzy only gave a speed boost for the first second or two, just as a little booty scooty at the beginning, and otherwise had you travel at normal speed BUT you can speed vault. Any stab would cause it to turn off, would count as a Special Attack, would apply Deep Wound ONLY on a healthy survivor, could down survivors, and not have the normal fatigue unless you miss your attack...

I need to workshop this, but I think it would be less frustrating to go against while giving Legion lethality. Legion would be slower, but with the right charge up and cooldown, FF could be far more versatile and flexible.

I think I found your guy the other day, accused me of wallhacking because of I'm All Ears and Lethal Pursuer, doubled down on it calling them "[unknown filtered word] wallhack perks"... Quite a funny dude ! =)

I would ask some probing questions, but I don't want to come off as harassing anyone. So I'll just say ya, sounds like it could be the guy, or they attend the same anti-tracking perks rallies.

  • I had some dude absolutely lose his mind and tell me I was cheating because I used BBQ. This was before it got nerfed and was in basically every build. He honestly believed that all tracking perks were cheating. His entire Steam Profile is dedicated to declaring that aura perks on killer are just hacks and are reportable.

So, I don't think THAT guy underrated tracking perks one bit.

You clearly don't know the amount of people I've added because they were pretty cool in a match, joined them in a vc, and it turns out they're like 14 at most.

The only people I have spoken to from this game are generally anywhere from their mid-20s to early 40s, and among those, almost entirely female. One of us has a lot of luck, and it's good or bad, context pending.

  • If they don't, I will. There will be an adult advisory.

How many 12 year olds do you think play this game? A game where they can't tell their friends about their K/D ratio, their epic headshot flicks, or how they got the Victory Royale?

I seriously don't think squeakers are the major concern everyone else does in DbD.

There's another playstyle for Legion other than "HIT BUTTON GO BRRRR"?

Speaking seriously, I do do that but that's because I don't play Legion to win; I play Legion because going brrr is fun (and gives lots of BP). I quite often let the survivors go on Legion after just to compensate them for me acting like a meth-addicted hedgehog all match.

I mean, fair nuff. It's a game, you play to have fun, so have fun!

Nevermind the formalities, what monster would you like personally?

    Memory of Alessa.

    Untitled Image

Valtiel tends to more work in the background and drags Heathers body away after dying. While I like the Bobblehead Nurses, I wouldn't really want to see them work outside of their normal mechanics. That would be too restrictive for players, though, and breaking the mechanics would feel like too much of a departure from the source material for me.

While the other games have their own big-bads, none of them hit quite the same as Pyramid Head.

Alessa, however, is integral to the plot of multiple games. She's basically the source of it all. Where Silent Hill REALLY got started. Memory of Alessa, which is a boss battle in SH3, is one of the few times we sort of see her more directly doing anything. A manifestation of what powers Silent Hill, or a least started the engine.

So, Heather Mason with black hair, covered in dried blood, burns, and stains all over her clothes. Holding a knife, and wielding reality altering powers and psychic abilities. Alessa is insanely powerful, insanely dangerous, and is also one of the most pivotal characters of the franchise.

I have tried not mending during Frenzy.

My shrimp brained teammates haven't quite considered that yet and, subsequently, throw the match.

Also, boy do I love mending for the entire game. With how most Legion's play, it'd be faster to DC and eat the penalty than to sit through that match.

I mean, you're often one of the most sensible people on the forum, so if you didn't say anything, I'd just assume you didn't mend until after FF anyways. Also, ya, that's basically was solo teammates are for.

When I played Legion, I only ever used FF when I specifically SAW the survivors bunched up. Using it when I didn't know if I'd be running across the entire map seemed like a total waste. I don't know if I was just playing Legion wrong, or if I was big-braining it and most Legions just go "I HIT BUTTON GO BRRRRRRRRR". Based on everything I see said, though, it sounds like they just use Legions power willy-nilly, results be damned.

Your wasting time, give me some monster options here,or would you rather see one come from the newer titles that's coming from Silent Hill?

This is a forum on the internet. Simply being here is wasting time. Also, you incorrectly listed BHV as also being Starbreeze and BHVR having worked on The Darkness. Neither of those were correct. Furthermore, Silent Hill Ascension, which is the SH game that BHVR is directly working on, is the most likely candidate where they will get a new monster from, seeing as they are directly working on it. They may go with a monster from one of the previous games, but Ascension would be the easiest target for them, as it will probably be much easier to use a monster they are already making for Konami.

  • Until they add comms, I am going to learn Morse Code and crouch out extensive messages to people around me.

    In real life.

In the game, I'm just going to play as normal.

  • Imagine getting mad because someone played a character in a video game.

Bhrv (starbreeze) also made naughty bear, the darkness etc.

Seeing as this is the DbD forum, I threw that in there for fun, and didn't actually intend to say they only make one game.

They also made Eternal Crusade, which was basically dropped on release and left to die.

Also, BHVR is not Starbreeze. BHVR is based out of Canada, Starbreeze is based out of Sweden and are currently working on Payday 3. They are two separate companies. While Starbreeze definitely worked with BHVR, they do not share the same development catalog. Looking into it, I cannot find anywhere that lists BHVR as having worked on The Darkness. They have assisted many other studios and games, though.

  • So, just saying:

The Silent Hill 2 remake is being done by a studio that has a... shaky history with horror games. They tend to get noticed a fair bit, but don't review well because the gameplay tends to be peepoo. Obviously, just copying SH2 shouldn't present as much of an issue, but a lot of people are still side-eying them, wondering what they MIGHT do to it.

Silent Hill F takes place in 1960s Japan. To make a point of this, it takes place BEFORE the events of Silent Hill 1. It also takes place before the events that SET Silent Hill 1 in motion. It will completely predate all lore from the actual games entirely. It is also being written by an author that PRIMARILY focuses on eastern horror. This is not a bad thing by itself, but it will be a major departure from normal SH tropes, which tend to mix eastern and western horror. It also already seems to rely a WEE BIT on knowing Japanese horror culture beforehand. The trailer shows a lot of a specific flower, which to a westerner, may just look like a flower. In Japan, however, it is very well known to be symbol of death. As such, it SEEMS Silent Hill F is specifically more geared towards a Japanese audience. Again, this doesn't mean it's bad or anything, just that it's not being written with westerners in mind.

There is another game going by the name Silent Hill: Townfall. Little is known about this one as of yet. That said, the developer has made horror games in the past with mixed reviews. Some really like their work, some don't. For me, personally, this one might be the blackhorse of the lot. It has a lot of potential to be s surprise hit, or a total nothing-burger.

BHVR (the devs behind such games as DbD, DbD, DbD, and DbD mobile) are working on a Silent Hill game that has a fluid story or something. The explanation of the game simply wasn't very clear. We know it has some kind of multiplayer functionality, but beyond that, it has something to do with everyone picking how the story goes(?). With this in mind, it wouldn't be surprising if they got to use any new big monster they made for that in DbD. This is the most likely outcome.

  • Just push them out, and skip the post-game lobby if you don't want to listen to them brag.

Just because they WANT you to force them to leave doesn't mean it's not the best option. If a jerk WANTS you to save someone tied to a railroad track, you still save the person on the railroad track. You don't let them get hit by the train just to deny the jerk what they want. Sure, they are being petty, but you being petty in return doesn't actually do anything but make the entire scenario worse.

  • Borrowed Time.

If I'm running BT, two things happen. One is that someone else always beats me to the hook that DOESN'T have BT and get the person put on hook again. The second is the killer is legit not trying to stop the hook save and, while nice to have, BT doesn't actually do anything. The second scenario is a good thing, as it's still a safe unhook and the survivor gets to heal up and go along their merry way, but it also means I never see the perk getting any value. It's a big "WHAT IF" then never "IF"s.

The moment I take it off, however, I'm the only one going for hook saves and the killer just b-lines to the hook whenever I get close.

  • I play normal, but I will go a bit easier if a scenario pops up where the option to sweat it out would end the match too quickly. Give them a few free passes. If they are playing well, but are still being cute and friendly, I just play as normal, don't get mad at them making good plays, and congratulate them on a good game after. Return the kindness, brighten their day in the post-game lobby, and hope they have a wonderful life.

  • While I have many things to say about Legion, as someone that used to main them, the one thing about them that really bothers me is not from Legion at all:

It's really annoying when nearly every time a new killer is announced, people point to them and say "This is what Legion should have been". Happened with Knight, happened with Twins, I recall seeing it when Nemesis was new. I think even Trickster got that, and there are others where I simply don't recall precise examples.

Legion is about stabbing survivors. A lot. I get that the trailer for Legion made it look like they would pretend to be a survivor, or maybe have the ability to control the entire gang, but that's not what Legion is ACTUALLY built around. Legion is ACTUALLY built around stabbing people. In the very least, when bringing up ways to completely rework or rebuild them, try to focus on this. It's the actual point of the killer. Not "Well, I have this completely unrelated ability idea, so it should go on Legion".

Also, the fifth Frenzy hit is poop. It rarely happens, it's basically useless, but the fact that it even exists makes people come up with bizarre, made up scenarios where they say it worked on them. Have you tried, I dunno, not mending until you know Feral Frenzy is over? This would literally prevent them from being able to track you, much less landing a fifth hit. Imagine you're at home, and there is a mess on the stove top, and someone is like "Oh man I need to clean that up" but the stove top is still hot from cooking, so you're like "Hey, you should let it cooldown first before you put your hands on it" and they're like "NO NO NO I have to clean it now AAAAAAAAHIDHJIAWDJOA I GOT BURNED THIS STOVE SUCKS NERF THIS STOVE". Ya, that's you, if you're mending during Feral Frenzy.

  • Every survivor looks like they smell bad.

Personally, I'm not seeing the issue. I don't find any of them remotely attractive. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I'm just clearly not the target audience if it does.

Dredge, on the other hand, may have gone too far into sex appeal...

  • I try to play fair, I really do. Then it just goes downhill. I tunnel them and make their entire trail pure agony. I play every chase out of my mind, looking for every way to optimize it. I stare at people blankly when they mess up during a chase, making sure they know that I noticed, and I'm not going to pretend I didn't.

I play Nea, and I have a problem.

  • It's still in the game because no individual component of it can be easily delt with.

If you want to completely change Insidious to no longer work in a way that can be used for camping, okay. Make suggestions and hope they reach the devs. Keep in mind "delete the perk" is generally not an option. They will completely rework or retool a perk, but outright deletion is generally not on the table. Also, they GENERALLY want to keep the "spirit" or "general function" of the perk intact. So a perk that gives Undetectable should still give Undetectable, unless you can suggest something else to give a similar benefit without explicitly using Undetectable.

If you want to change Bubba in a way to no longer work with camping, make suggestions to the devs. Making his power not work around hooks hasn't happened yet, and there is probably a reason for that. Deleting him isn't an option. Nerfing him into the ground probably won't be met kindly, as most people don't want to see killers nerfed into oblivion.

The devs also GENERALLY like ALL perks to be open to being used with each other. Generally speaking, they avoid making perks simply not work with other perks, or on specific killers. While the function of perks may counter each other, they generally don't disallow you to take that perk. Same goes for perks on killers. You can generally take any perk on any killer, though it may or may not be beneficial. The choice, however, is there. So any changes would have to include the ability for Bubba to take Insidious without a hard ban on him doing so.
