If you're actually good at macro. spreading pressure will give you far more consistent results than just hoping you can tunnel someone out before the game is in an unwinnable state for you.

Tunnelling is worse now than its ever been, and its the hardest to do now then ever.
Objectively untrue. DS was nerfed to the ground and base gen time has been increased. It's now the easiest it has ever been to tunnel someone.

"because killers are just in too strong of a spot right now" is an interesting take I feel. What happened to killers "a year ago, two years ago" Mori nerf, Noed nerf, Nurse nerf, Spirit nerf, Wraith nerf, Deathslinger nerf, Ruin + Undying nerf, Pop (+Scourge combo) nerf, base BT, new survivor HUD, OTR buff.... and those are a few things I can name now in 10 seconds, which makes ""because killers are just in too strong of a spot right now" an interesting take. I feel the only thing that bothers me about SoloQ is survivor being super bad and people constantly give up, instead of manning up and trying to focus up. But that's something you can't fix with nerfs and buffs, its just the casual playerbase.
This is objectively the most balanced the game has ever been in. tho i don't think it's hopeless for survivors as op thinks it is, you're just a victim of matchmaking for soloq
-
and with the exception of hyper focus they're all awful
-
it now has to be balanced around spirit, so no i think the perk is fine.
-
Badham is prolly the single most survivor sided realm in the game rn.
-
yea with 0 slowdowns you can get really really fast matches if survivors just want out of the game asap. I mostly just run corrupt as my sole slowdown when im going for curves on billy.
-
Maybe when they'll release another killer as fun and rewarding to play as blight then he won't be spammed 24/7 but seeing how the last 2 killers released take the mechanically skill of a salted snail to play i wouldn't hold your breath

The hoops people will jump to try and justify dcing lol
i would say that it's pretty easy to justify DCing against someone who is abusing a pretty huge bug

("Spirit with NO phase use" do try read before you insult people, less sounding like a clown yourself)
This can be LITERALLY ANY KILLER. I put spirit in my example cos thats who I was using last. And no forget that that noise people can use who they want out of here with that nonsense
And like I said NO POWER USE and people still quit at that point ain't a spirit issue at all. If people can't vs a 4.4 killer without DCing idk what to tell u dude
Can literally play a legion with no power and that probably gets me even more DCs than a spirit with a power to be honest
But your argument is because I mentioned 1 (Not even using their power) out of the 8 killers I rotate and have the same experience with my argument is null and void?
Great logic
that's legion not clown bro
-
Eruption was genuinely a problematic perk, it needed to be changed or nerfed to reasonable numbers. BHVR decided on making it more of an info perk like COB is than a hard slowdown.
Which on it's like older dbd balance not really tbh, Old dbd was a complete mess balance wise for BOTH sides Nurse was (and still is lmao) a problematic killer despite almost 7 years of being in the game, Moris let you kill without hooking for a year (and then 3 more years of being able to kill after 1 hook), etc etc.
-
i don't just because they're playing swf, why would i judge someone for playing with their friends? I'll judge people if they're abusing OP stuff but that applies to both sides. Stop using Swfs as a scapegoat when you lose when the worse thing that they brought was flashlights and a brown medkit.
-
yea, something to speed it up would be cool. As much as i like looting for items using a full chest build makes me feel like im borderline griefing.

Isn't that a good place for the perk to be?
Be good in its use, but have weaknesses?
Yes, it would nerf DH in the open, the place where the perk is the weakest. But at least killers don't loose so such distance for one perk ad keeps it strong when used well. But fot being in the open other exhaustion like SB or lithe are better.
It would also nerf tunneling, since you can't hit the BT and not have to think about DH anymore, kinda dumb that the tunneling playstile actually benefited from the DH change, while regular gameplay has to deal with it
I don't think so since that doesn't fix what are the actually problematic parts of DH, which are imo that some killers simply can not play around it in anyway.

like Eruption :D
It is enough to add for a perk so that it gives a slowdown after a successful use or works once per game. But even if it works once, this perk will still remain the strongest perk in the game.
if it had a limited about of uses it would never ever be used
-
That would make it worse in situations where it's already bad and not actually effect situations where it's truly strong

Any player with more than 10hrs of game play experience knows egc with 4 alive survivors means that unless you run certain perks or survivor's get cocky and slip up all 4 are most likely going to escape and basekit BT damn near guarantees this. He's not asking to be entitled to a kill, just a freaking fraction of a chance to get one.
If it got to end game and there's 4 survivors still alive no you don't deserve a free kill, you lost.
-
You're not entitled to a kill just because it's endgame.
-
mavin's blood got nerfed before BNP, MDR, adren vial (which actually got buffed lmao) , c33, alch ring. Like it's honestly kinda funny to think about
-
depends on the map, some maps have a lot of reusable windows while others become compete deadzones once pallets are used like the game
-
no this game is LITERALLY life or death and if i don't escape/4k i will post on the forums about x/y/z is op
-
It's hard to balance chase perks between not bad and not making them extremely cringe to play against like bamsnoozle and dissolution.

I'd wager it'd also delete CoH from viability. Why take a perk that requires 14 seconds to set up and can just be permanently disabled if the killer finds a very loud, very bright totem, when there's other healing perks that allow you to pull similar feats?
After reading your reply and thinking about it some more, yea, you're probably right, COH probably wouldn't survive this change as well.
-
This idea will just make the bad boons actually unusable and not effect smartly placed COH that much
-
i would rather be tunneled out of a match in 2 minutes than be handcuffed to a match for 40 minutes. Also, can people please stop saying "killers are gonna have to tunnel more now!!1!" after every single slowdown nerf, it gets somehow more sad each time someone repeats it.
-
Let's not encourage slugging for the 4k more, please.

to even call Dead Hard's rework a nerf is debatable, it's still the best survivor perk, still extremely strong, still a 3rd health state, still has virtually no counterplay when combined with a pallet, etc.
but now you get a hit speedboost off of it lol, so it just has different situations where it excels, but most of them are the same as before, sometimes you even get better results than before.
It's flatly a hard nerf unless you're a few select killers. You CAN still hit a survivor DHing into a pallet, you actually couldn't do anything about DH for distance, which also worked for windows as well as pallets.
-
i mean WoO is a non-issue perk to start with. so i don't really care at all if the killer WoO is bad. WoO just shows where pallets are, it doesn't magically make survivors good at looping. Complain about the fact that these maps can spawn set ups can spawn in the first place rather than complaining about a perk that lets you see them.

i'm not entirely sure this is true. i think part of the survivor's pallet animation happens after the drop, which means the survivor can't start resetting the pallet until partway through the stun animation, and you won't be able to reset it in time. this is the same reason you can't vault into a pallet stunned killer who has enduring - the stun animation with enduring is 1 second and the vault animation is 0.5 seconds, but because the vault animation starts a second after dropping the pallet the killer can still swing or do a vault grab
again, i'm not 100% sure that's how it works, but based on my own experience and what a couple survivor players who are better than me have said, i'm more sure than not it is true.
yea ur probably right, tho you can almost do it so if the wraith has some brain lag you might be able to pull it off.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
I'm pretty sure stuns from pallets aren't 4 seconds long so I think its fine
it does actually mean if you stun a cloaked wraith you can reset the pallet and drop it on them again lmao
-
admech killer??!?!
-
my only issue with wesker is that infection progresses in chase, if they changed that he would be perfect outside of bugs.
-
was it over nerfed? Yes, wildly so. Am i happy about it? Yes, wildly so. No longer will killers be able to handcuff you to matches for 40 minutes with this overtuned garbage
It's been a really long time since a perk has made me straight up not wanna play the game, honestly like old MoM is the most recent one.

Is that what I said? Or are you putting words in my mouth? Where did I say it “doesn’t work”? Please go back and read what I said. Maybe try comprehension this time around.
We use it because it’s fun. It’s much more fun than using bump logic all the time, but it is much more punishing if you don’t land the hit.
Bump logic can guarantee a hit that you MIGHT land with a hug tech, and all of the good blights will say the same thing.
he literally directly quoted you
Basekit blight, when played as intended is probably the most balanced killer in the game. If you keep hugtech in as is, blight should be made 110% imo.
-
The knight is at the core of his design an awful killer, no amount of number and variable tweaking will fix what the issue with him is without just outright making using his power in loops useless. If he can at any point effectively use his power at loops then he will be one of the most despised killers in the game, if they make it so that he can't use his power at loops then he will be comically bad.
The Knight just needs to be designed from the ground up, hopefully BHVR will have learned that direct zoning is an awful idea and won't release another killer who presses m2 to force you to leave the loop.
-
i personally just find it funny that they removed flashlight clicking before adding a fob slider
-
by reporting them
-
BHVR is waiting to see what effects that giving survivors the hud will have on the game.
-
They really shouldn't be giving killers a mechanic that's almost purely used for tunneling
-
Like what other people said it's probably an oversight from the pass
-
hard no on basekit ds but DS should have been just made to not work in endgame and not neutered to 3 seconds
-
Recency bias is one hell of a drug lol
-
They should remove the whole knight chapter tbh
-
No, but that's because i firmly think that incap as a debuff should be only used for killer powers.
-
Ideally, they'll just revert the perk buff. Prebuff eruption is how powerful slowdown perks should ever get.
-
Only if we also get limited regression per gen

looking forward to the discussion "COH is bad at niche, prove yourself, bad at niche, hyperfocus is bad at niche, and of course dh is bad at niche"
potential energy does what it was created, for destroys 3 gene strategy, brushes are not to blame for a bad artist
we're in the most oppressive 3 gen meta the game has ever had and i haven't seen PE used outside of people trying to get adept or do the rift challenge. PE is an objectively, with it's current numbers, an awful perk. Maybe in comp dbd it's not comedically bad but comp dbd itself is a joke.
-
It can be cringe when you're playing stuff like huntress, but otherwise the perk itself is fine imo, if a little annoying.
