  • @A_Can_Of_Air mate, you are one of the most mature people I have ever seen in this community.

I wish you luck and happiness in everything you do.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Well, that statement alone is pretty horrible.

In the context of caring about other peoples enjoyment in a game though, it's perfectly fine to feel like that.

It's your job to either Kill or Survive, however you do that is your choice and you aren't forced to care about the other side in any way.

That mentality is fine in the context of the game, especially Dead by Daylight.

If you're not enjoying the game, you should do one of two things:

    A) Leave and find something better that's worth your time.

    B) Stick it out and hope that Behaviour are figuring out ways to make general gameplay less frustrating for both sides (I've been here since 2017 so good luck waiting for that).

My love for the game is bigger than my hatred, so that's why I'm still here. I know the other side just wants to mess around and use me as a piñata to entertain themselves with, but at the same time, they can't blame me for doing anything that makes them angry. That is ranging from playing a certain Killer, or not falling for a mind game or 360.

Wow, didn't expect post like this, but thank you nonetheless. I've been playing dbd since July 2020 and my love is bigger than my hatred too.

This thing was a big deal for my friend that's why I made this post.

This guy is very awful human and his playstyle didn't bother me, just this statement.

It isn't about how the perk can win the game. It's about how it requires nothing from the killer in order to get any use from it. Your counterpoint doesn't apply to my argument. Your argument is bad.

Does Dead Hard, Unbreakable or Decisive Strike requires something something from survivor other than perk slot?

  • Mate, you're argument is very bad. Hypothetical situation where a perk wins the game can be made about many perks and most of them would be perks of survivors. Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Unbreakable and more. Should we nerf these perks just cuz they can be abused? Heck naw. Most situations if killer runs NOED, means they are very new to the killer and want some kills and if that's the case then it's survivors fault for not doing bones. I'm not forgetting about the other side of toxic killers who want survivors to suffer, but as I said before survivors can do the same to killers.

I usually run NOED on my lower rank killers cus 8/10 times the bloodweb decides to screw me and give me the worst perks available in game. My Deathslinger is one who I run NOED on cus he literally has nothing else worth using, and I'm certainly not gonna cripple myself harder by equipping useless perks like Deerstalker just to make the survivors happy. Now I will admit I did run a Blood Warden end game build with Freddy once, where I had NOED, Blood Warden, and the one iri add-on for Freddy that acts like a mini Blood Warden lol. I did it one time and never again cus I felt bad at the end there.

Survivors usually bully low skill Twins, I'm just making them pay the price

The Killer Rulebook was a lie invented by Killer Streamers who think highly of themselves and Survivors who cant play the game. Shh.

I have to neutralize you now for revealing this secret.

You mean The Killer Rulebook, by Survivors. Its a rulebook on how killers must play. Your suggestion would be in a Survivor Rulebook.

I only heard of Survivor Rulebook that survivors created for killers on how to play so survivors would have fun every match. Hence why I said Killers Rulebook which is the opposite.

  • The only thing that every type of player say is "Spirit is too op and needs a nerf"

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453198#Comment_2453198

Probably because if you lose that many gens without getting 5 hooks that you're just losing the match? It shouldn't be required for one side to hold your hand. If you're losing because of bad map design, don't expect others to go easy on you because that's not how it works nor is that how it should work.

True and that's why I called this "an addition to killer rulebook", as a tribute to infamous Survivor's Rulebook that killer can't camp, tunnel etc.

  • @Marik13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453181#Comment_2453181

Right? Dead Hard? No problem! NOED? No! Work for it you mule! Its ridiculous. Maybe if the game were better balanced overall so that gen speeds weren't a problem and there were much better options available for killers to use so that they don't have to tunnel/camp, then maybe we can look at NOED and find a re-work for it. But until then, no.

I only run NOED on Twins as an endgame build and I don't get more than 4 hooks before all gens pop. Survivors don't do bones have perks they can just use and then whine that you had NOED or that you camped.

  • @GannTM said:

    Yeah no...

    Can you elaborate why?

  • @Marik13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2453151#Comment_2453151

Majority of people who have a problem with it usually are the ones that don't want to take the time to cleanse totems. NOED is so easy to counter as it is with all the totem perks survivors have at their disposal. Any kind of rework to it where the killer needs to "earn it" or "work for it" to where it only lasts a limited time, should then remove it from being a Hex then.

I kinda hate how killers have to earn their perks and survivors can just use theirs without much or any work needed.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think a better question would be not what you should do in this situation, but how you could avoid this situation from occurring in the first place.

I personally don't use Myers anymore and I have him 3rd prestige max. He might be a fun Killer but he is just too weak IMO.

I never cared about killer strength, but the reason I asked my question this way, cuz I know you need to do better, but bad things happen and I wanted to know how people would handle this situation.

  • @kaeru said:

If I only got 3 hooks for 4 gens, that means I already lost and I wouldn't expect them do something stupid.

Honestly I would try to chase them there. Maybe get tier 3 and down some survivors for bbq stacks. I like to chase survivors more than secure one kill. Even if it means they all escape.

I had BBQ tier 2 so I got all the stacks. But if I had tier 3 BBQ I would have done what you said.

I love when the most killer sided map is called ‘balanced’.

Yeah, it's kinda dumb tbh. You can lose as killer there, but only if survivors are way better than you.

I haven't seen anyone complain about Adrenaline since 2019. I thought people realised how dumb they sounded.

I saw it in discussions about NOED so I brought it up. If we're being fair, Adrenaline does not deserve to be so strong.

  • @xEa said:

Please let this be more then just a small fix. This map need some serious changes. Way to killersided. In my opinion. Its like Haddonfield but in favour for the killer.

    • The Deadzone (pretty much 30% of the map) needs more then just 2-3 unsafe pallets, especially because there are usually 2 gens to find there. The worst part is, that you are after droping the already unsafe pallet completly zoned out, since most of the "loops" are in the backend of the map.
    • the gallon is a deathtrap unless you have ballanced landing.
    • the shack is just another pallet with that breakable wall. Since its in the center, its no effort to just open up the shack before you even hunt someone down.
    • the map is very small and open.
    • the houserow is a weak version of TL wall and a ######### 4 lane. Its not that good in first place, but once just one breakable wall is opend, it becomes very bad.
    • the very few filler pallets are between completly useless and very weak.
    • no jungle gyms at all beside the joke houserow.
    • Mainbuilding has 1 strong and one good window, but it takes just a kick and they are both completly useless.

Said that, change stinky Haddonfield too, discusting map. Why this map is still not reworked, is beyond my comprehension.

    I mean...

This situation is like NOED and Adrenaline.

They both need to change at the same time (I'm talking about Haddonfield and Dead Dawg)

  • @glitchboi said:

I think Spirit could use something like that (a better idea would be to have her glimpses shown to the survivors) but Deathslinger needs his chase power to be a good killer. At the cost of being the most powerful zoner and one of the best chasers in the game, he suffers from horrible 1v4.

That's what I was talking about when I said he would need a buff with this change.

  • I'm gonna be honest with you. Killers like Trickster and Spirit should not be strong imo. They're incredibly easy to use compared to other killers. I understand that many people want their main killer to be strong but if you take in account their skiil cap and how low it is for Trickster or Spirit, then I think these changes are alright because he still stays in weakish killer tier.

  • I mean you're talking about accuracy of licensed chapters and I'm pointing out another inaccurate lisensed chapter.

Yeah, I’ve used it a few times. It’s actually pretty fun to use in spite of its simplicity.

Victor’s already quite powerful on his own, so I don’t think he’s worthy of an insta-down.

I just want more complex and interesting Ultra-Rare Add-on instead of applying strong effect to killer or survivor under certain circumstances. But I understand where you coming from.

  • @Trwth said:

I like the prestige and avatar ideas, but the Ultra Rare for Twins is… not very useful. They get warned of the add-on, so the chances of you getting a down are extremely low unless you chase them. And if you DO chase the Survivor, it creates a hopeless situation in which no matter what they do they will always get downed because of the add-on, which creates a situation similar to that of old Legion, and nobody wants that.

I mean, the idea is you get to use Victor more. And right now in the game this Add-on exposes survivors who kick Victor in his idle state.

    100% this...

Survivors: "NOED is an unfair crutch perk that rewards bad killers"

Also Survivors : "Gimme some of that BT, DS, and Dead Hard action".

    😂😂

    You forgot Adrenaline

  • @Bran said:

cool idea. doesn't tip the balances off or anything, just adds a bit of "what if" type thing that makes the games a bit more fun for the killer running them.

Exactly, and that's what I think Iridescent's supposed to do. Like infinite T3 Myers with Tombstone is very fun if you can pull it off.

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

A couple of things have come up with licenses I have noticed that are kind of disappointing and make no sense. The most recent is the Quentin face rework. Yes its undeniable he looks better but the actor was clearly open to letting his face be in the game they just didn't go for it. I don't understand. I can understand Jamie and Danny not having their faces in it because they are probably expensive as hell and hard to get a hold of but the Quentin actor? Why just not quickly get him? Even if its a license people don't care for like the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot just do it if even the actor is open to it. And another recent example of them just not wanting to make something accurate in any way is over half of the content in the Resident Evil chapter. The only accurate things are Leon's face and his Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 costume. Jill's face isn't accurate but her costumes are. Claire's costume is accurate enough with some small problems but her face is made by demons. Chris is the Resident Evil 5 Chris but everything looks off. He looked better in the trailer. Well everyone did. The RPD has these weird Resident Evil mutation things for some reason even though NO other map has them and it just makes things look ugly sometimes. And Nemesis... Every single thing about Nemesis was messed up. His looks, power, and animations are all very odd. His skin color for some reason is pink like in Marvel VS Capcom Infinite. His face and entire head has many small issues that stack up. His mori is ridiculous and just plain bad. And this is the biggest example of inaccuracy in anything licensed... His power. The problem with Nemesis for anyone who doesn't know RE all that well is that they tried to bring in the feeling of Resident Evil as a franchise instead of the spirit of the actual character. I was always told that DBD isn't RE when I talked about this and that's my point when I have always said Nemesis isn't Nemesis. They went in the direction of the entire RE feeling which is what you don't wanna do when the games are completely different. Accuracy with licenses are important to me. Even licenses are don't care for. Of course I know there are certain boundaries but they could easily have made Nemesis feel like Nemesis or Quentin look like Quentin. I mean they did it before with Bill and Leon.

    About Nightmare on Elm Street.

Current Nightmare has very little in his gameplay that makes him Freddy Krueger.

Freddy could do nothing to survivors who are not sleeping and he didn't have deceiving fakes or snares. That's why I hate his rework.

The Death Throes Compilation will be changed (most likely) with the Mid-Chapter Patch:

    • "Death Throes Compilation: When Main Event ends, The Trickster's knives are replenished."

    To your Twins-proposal:

This is not a healthy Add On. Yes, Victor is slower, however, if you chase a Survivor with Charlotte, they will go down, no matter what. Either Charlotte hits them or Victor downs them. This is a Lose/Lose-Situation, those should not happen.

In general, I prefer weakish Iridescent Add Ons. Some Iridescent Add Ons are or were too strong, but I rather have a strong Killer and weaker Add Ons than the other way around (e.g. I dont mind Nemesis Iri Add Ons, they are terrible, however, Nemesis itself is solid).

But obviously, some Iri Add Ons can be looked at, because they are shockingly bad.

To my idea can be added something like - Timer stops while inside the Terror Radius.

And this post is not about making weaker iri add-ons stronger, but making them more interesting and gameplay changing.

I would bet money it's not a 2 story Haddonfield, nor do I think 1 half of the map is the size of Midwich. The map isn't really that big, it's mid-sized, you just can't run in a straight line, from one side to the other. Which leads to my point: people dont know how to navigate the map, so they think it's huge.

I'm telling you, if you cut the map in half, it'd probably be one of the smallest maps in the game; and as soon as everyone learned the layout, they'd be complaining about how small it is. There just isn't enough to each wing to sustain a whole map. I don't even think you could work enough Gens and loops into one half of the map, for it to be fair.

Bottom line, until players know the map, they shouldn't be proposing changes; and based on how many comments I see calling the map a "maze," or a "labyrinth," and how many complaints I see about how players can't find anything or get lost, I'd bet most players still don't really know the map.

To be fair, I'm not saying the map is good or bad; even knowing the map, I need more time to figure that out(although, it seemed to play well on the Survivor's side, the 4-5 times I've been on it). I just think all the hate this map is getting right now is knee-jerk and/or bandwagoning off of the frustration of not knowing it and having to learn it.

I think you're right. I didn't have an opportunity to play dbd since the start of July and I only played on the map once when it came out. My was frozen for more than half of the match so yeah I don't really know much about it.

But I still think it's big enough to deserve hate from killers. Pressuring gens on this map can only be achieved with Nightmare, Hag(after a down) and Nurse, maybe Wraith. But every other killers chokes on this map and has to resort to camping to get some kills.

  • @MrSmashem said:

I dont think you realize how small the map would become, if you did that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think that majority of the "problems," players have with this map, come from lack of knowing the layout, as evidenced by the person calling it a "maze." It's not a maze; I have no difficulty finding my way around it because I know the layout. It's actually extremely easy to navigate, especially with the DBD alterations to the layout.

Before anyone proposes changes, I think everyone needs to learn the map and play on it a bit.

The other problem with it is the map is as big as 2 story Haddonfield and most of the killer won't even see because survivors don't run that way.

My change is controversial, but you cannot deny that the map is too big. I think with my proposal the map becomes about size of Midwich, but I maybe wrong.

  • @not_Queef said:

So just disregard fundamental gameplay mechanics in favour of promoting toxicity? Your argument is beginning to disintegrate.

Another problem with NOED is the wild disparity in totems placements between maps.

Spawned into Autohaven? No problem, there's a TL wall there, a bus there, probably on in the main building, maybe one in the shack etc.

Spawned into Lery's, Hawkins or Midwich? Wait while I check every nook and cranny in every single room...

I can't imagine how hard they will be to find in RPD.

"Do bones" is an invalid argument.

    When did I promote toxicity?

Most of toxicity about NOED comes from survivors, I understand how inconvenient it it is to look for totems. Bring perks to help then. I know that you don't want to change your perks for something "stupid" like totems, but that's why small game and counterforce exist.

  • @not_Queef said:

NOED would be fine if survivors were actually notified that they are "exposed" when the perk activates.

The perk in its current form is outdated and is not consistent with the way that status effects are supposed to work. The same goes for Devour Hope.

I mean, it's a middle finger of a perk. You don't warn anyone that you're going to flip someone off, do you?

  • @Gruul said:

Low key can't wait for buffed no way out for devastating end game builds where NOED actually makes sense instead you something you stick on as a back up plan when your plan fails. Something like NOED/Blood Warden/No Way Out/Free Slot. I think it could be fairly relaxing as killer that instead of putting yourself on a timer and worrying about "gen rush" (also known as survivors doing their objective please stop calling it gen rush it's hilariously stupid) you can just build up your NWO and finish them in the end game.

As for NOED itself I feel like survivors only hate it because it means they can't BM and actually have to get tf out and they hate the feeling of having to actually respect the killer. I don't think NOED is amazing it generally forces teams into sacrificing a teammate and just leaving or putting themselves in great danger and I think the former is generally the smarter option but the latter can lead to some great moments if you can pull it off. I know people say they don't complain about devour when it does the same thing because the killer has to "earn" it but can we stop pretending getting 3 hooks is all that hard? If you don't mind devour you really shouldn't mind NOED.

On the topic of the unearned downs argument half of y'all run dead hard which gives you a free health state for getting hit so please stop pretending you're trying to present a serious argument and arn't just putting forth some hypocritical salt.

You can use Remember Me in that free slot ;)

  • @Power_Guy said:

The problem with the view of most people who complain about NoED is that they think it 'rewards failure'. This could not be more wrong.

See, the Killer did not fail just because 5 gens popped; the Exit Gates still need to be opened, and the Survivors still need to actually leave the match. At any point between those two things; the Killer can still hit and hook and kill people.

But, the way I see it, most of those who dislike NoED know this. They just don't want to accept it. So they invent some arbitrary event; the Exit Gates being powered, and then claim it's somehow a fail state for Killers.

In this way, they have just created an argument against NoED; that it 'rewards failure'. They're wrong, but they will stick to it, because it's the only method to attack NoED that they have.

Because, and let's face it, their other argument of 'It has no counter' is an utter lie, given the number of anti-totem perks and items that exist.

So they tried to invent another flaw with the perk; the 'rewards failure' tripe. It's also a lie, but they keep trying.

Honestly I was the same on my 400-500 hours. I only started thinking about the entitlement of survivors in my last 50 hours I spent on this game.

  • And I agree with that wholeheartedly
