  • I know that.

It would just be nice to not have to bring it make all these chest perks viable.

No, we dont need free 999 shaсk pallets, just use key to insta open chests

I feel like the time commitment isn't that bad, it's just there aren't enough chests.

  • Interesting changes.

I think these could work pretty well.

Except Dark Theory is still Dark Theory, a.k.a the worst designed boon ever, but that's not your fault anyway, and the vault boost would likely help it not be as eh.

    Welcome to the digital world.

All of you who buy digital stuff don´t own anything. If you download your movie or music to your harddrive - then yes, you own it.

If for example Amazon or Apple ever go bankrupt all your movies or music will be gone.

If the servers were shut off, you can´t play DbD with all bought dlc anymore. Only if they ever make a true offline mode (which i doubt).

I am old - we used to buy games on discs which can´t be patched. So they had to be really tested to fully work. I can still play an old PS 1 game today.

I can watch my DVDs as long and often as they don´t break. And nothing there will ever be censored afterwards.

Digital is convenient but it is far worse than old physical media.

I believe I heard that if BHVR has gone under, the game would ge given to the community, similar to how TF2 was.

i just think theyre very boring without that aspect.

survivors dont need more tools for sweaty optimal minmaxing gameplay, they need more fun random things and fog vials just underdeliver there.

    Fair opinion.

  • Really?

To me, his turning rate is god-awful when you want to hit.

  • @Chiky said:

Billy and Blight, idk how to control them. Billy especially, the random turning at the start of the sprint ALWAYS make me hit an obstacle that's not even remotely close to where I was looking for or where I wanted to go...

and Pyramid Head because he's the weakest killer in the game (imo)

    You and me both lol.

(except the PH bit, I don't own him yet.)

  • I don't mind the chest activation THAT much, but it's still kind of eh because you only get 3 basekit.

But, that is a thing that should be changed, especially with the focus on chests in new perks.

Solution: Give us more chests (at least 4 or 5).

Hey all, just to confirm a few things - nothing is changing apart from the wording, the meaning behind it is the same as it's always been…we just have to comply with all global laws so sometimes wording changes might happen. You can be assured if you've unlocked a character it is not going to be taken away from you.

It also doesn't change how you get DLC's - everything will carry on as before ,download from your platform, get the characters from the in-game store for either AC's or IS's, whichever is applicable to that character.

So please do not worry, genuinely there's nothing changing here <3

That is very reassuring, thank you.

I don't believe that, they (bhvr - just to clarify. That ubisoft does that doesn't even confuse me in any way xD) probably have better things to do than to put unnecessary things in their contracts.

Also I don't think bhvr could simply change that contract because it was made while you bought it, it would probably count onwards that date if even. In the end it's since that for are while already, there never where any problems that they simply deleted content you already owned (yes, I will continue using the word owned for the simplicity. - look at demo and pinhead) so I find it unnecessary to make a scene out of the change of a single word.

(Of course that's nothing against you or other people. It's good to be sceptic, but you should go crazy on something that's already normal and never caused problems)

Yeah, it's just scepticism and mild worry on my part mostly, with all the things I heard about the industry in recent time.

  • I would like to add to this.

    1. Give us some Master Challenges like the OG tomes had. Maybe limit it to only one at a time, but I want perk/killer challenges, Glyphs and Memory Shards back.
    2. Increase the BP numbers from Daily Rituals.
    3. Change the UI a bit, it's kind of bland.

  • I hate playing Blight. I don't understand how people play him willingly.

Similarly Billy, I wish I could remove the initial curve with an add-on because holy hell this screws me over more than helps.

And Unknown. Tried him on the PTB and noped out instantly. I am bad at aiming, so a killer that requires aim AND has a bouncy projectile is just a nightmare. I did try Huntress, Trickster and Deathslinger, as well as Artist, and none of them feel as awful.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/451696/my-item-revisions-vol-3-fog-vials

I mean, the Fog Vial is different that what was expected. Without iri add on you can see within 20m pretty well, making it poor getaway tool. And if it's primar effect will be antiaura then I don't think it will be very popular, even if it stays rechargable. I understand people hate that item for the getaway with iri add on, but it's the only purpose worth bringing it.

Muffled sounds can be simply removed overall as some counter to both sides and the aura can be left.

Iri add on increasing recharge time was my idea too. But if you need iri add on to make the vial good I'd more likely see more purposes of the vial itself. And the iri add on might be "When downed survivor is within fog, they get 100 % faster recovery speed but cannot recover on their own, doesn't stack." or "When within fog while you receive 100 % bonus speed to healing" Making it less of "Fog to hide" but "fog to do something"

I mean, I'm still beaming over it since I love my stealth plays, and this allows me to just have a better Shadow Step whenever I like.

The iri is fine, as long as audio muffling goes away. The cooldown is a compromise, since it is a pretty easy escape if you have it.

Why are you all so panicked because of this? You don't even own the game but only the license to play it on steam as far as I know - you're panicken because of a standart that's already given.

Also they won't just take it from you for no reason, as long as you're not breaking the contract in any way they can't take it from you. Bhvr themself are also interessted in holding you as a customer, so of course they won't do things like this.

Well, I still do have hope that BHVR won't do s*** like Ubisoft and that one company that puts a requirement to destroy any copies of games they abandon in their contracts...

But still, it just seems unreasonable to do this.

  • TLDR for those who do not know what is going on, we found out via a leak channel that in a update comming soon, the little icon that says OWNED on all your killers you bought is getting changed to UNLOCKED.

The implications of this are... ghastly.

  • I do not like the implications of this AT ALL.

I hoped that BHVR would not be like most of the industry.

And all of this while Stop Killing Games is very active?! Why?

  • I heavily dislike it.

Mainly because I feel like no matter how many pallets I break, there is still no way for me to get a hit on the survivor before they reach a new resource.

The only times I don't mind this is with killers that ignore this, like Hag, or I have a good 3-gen.

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

Iri addon should be basekit, but with decreased range, while the actual addon reduces opacity and increases range back.

Fog vial baseline is borderline useless for its supposed main purpose and can only be applied in boring "optimal" ways like hiding aura / prethrowing it to mess with a few killers like spirit. The main defining trait of the fog vials which is a chance for getaway in otherwise desperate situation is not happening without the addon.

To be fair, the best way to use it IS to drop it when there is already some distance regardless of add-on.

But yeah, the "disappear in plain sight" is just not happening unless you bring the iri add-on, but they are still a great stealth tool regardless. Better than half the stealth perks we have in the game, I'd say.

  • @Langweilig said:

I like the vial of acid. The no pools of blood addon might be good, but I don‘t find it interesting and for the iri addon I will wait what they‘ll do. It will probably already get a huge tune down.

    Thanks for commenting!

I hope that the iri add-on will continue to make the fog denser even past the PTB, I liked the stealth aspect a lot.

Without the awful droning noise and a downside to balance it out, it would be ok.

  • So do you.

But, it is my discussion after all.

If you actually knew what survivor needs you wouldn't advocate for stealth gameplay, because that's a big part of what makes the soloq experience so awful, so clearly you don't know what survivor needs.

This is quite literally just about the only time I've made such an assumption lol, check your facts before making such a ridiculous comment.

Yes, I did call those killers boring and faceroll (but never overpowered, but of course you're putting words in my mouth) because they are. Again putting words in my mouth because it was never because I "struggle against them." And you're response to me calling them boring and faceroll was something along the lines of "no they're not, the devs disagree, get over it." But sure, you're definitely not biased when the only point you can come up with to defend your stance is "because I said so."

What I have added to this discussion is that this killer is already problematic and shouldn't be buffed (like OP was referencing) and should really get a whole new power. That's adding to the discussion whether you like it or not, ignoring it doesn't change that.

But right, I'm the biased one because I point out that problematic killers are problematic even though they aren't high tier. If you weren't killer biased you would be able to recognize that, but time and time again you've put your killer bias on full display, and statements like "you're wrong, get over it" are literally inexcusable. You're killer biased, you get over it

Well, that's the wonderful thing about opinions. Everyone has one.

You think Houndmaster should get the same treatment Freddy got (scrap them and rework them from ground up), I think it's excessive and not necessary.

This is how it is, and it's likely we won't get anywhere from there, so I suggest we stop here.

  • Artist.

    Myers.

Houndmaster (if you add a load of bugfixes in).

  • @lettuchia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966939#Comment_3966939

What are you talking about? Freddy's in a great spot now, and even before he was still 100x better than his initial power

Still a snoozefest to play as in my personal opinion, a sanitized version of him with 0 ties to his original, unique power. Even though some small changes were all it would take to make him perfect.

And, how long did it take again? 5 years? 6?

Yeah. I do not intend to wait years to get a rework that ultimately didn't need to happen.

But, I digress. It's kind of obvious that there is just not a way for us to agree on anything about her, and bickering only bloats this discussion with an argument that leads nowhere.

So, let's just stop here and agree that we just have very different visions of what she should be.

  • What nerf?

    It works exactly the same.

It just doesn't work with maps anymore, which can track totems even better now (if you take the add-on, that is)

You can say that about like 7 killers, according to who exactly?

Giving killers a new poer historically never worked, also according to who?

Is Freddy not enough of a reason to not repeat it?

And there are multiple killers with 2 dashes, so...

While I don't think Houndmaster is C tier in the right hands at all, I do think she's buggy and needs some addressing. I feel like she's in a similar boat as poor ol' Knight and could use some looking at, but her power overall is fine. It's a weird boat to be in.

She definitely doesn't need a full on power rework.

I was not talking about Houndmaster or the person that's complaining in this thread.

This one was a completely different case.

  • @LockerLurk said:

That's not just you noticing, unfortunately this is a common pattern I've noticed amongst some of the newer Survivor-biased posters on these forums. It's just Us versus Them by another name, "Buffs and fixes for me but not for thee."

    Yeah.

Believe it or not, I have encountered worse.

In a nutshell, that person's deal was: Everything killer does is unfair and should be nerfed. You make a suggestion to buff a C tier killer? Cue the "survivors have suffered enough" and making themselves victim.

  • @lettuchia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966631#Comment_3966631

She should get an entirely different power. She's literally just wesker but worse designed

You can say that about like 7 killers now.

And, giving killers a new power historucally never worked.

  • A sidegrade.

They want him to stop spamming purple bottles, but he'll end up just spamming yellow ones.

Plus things like Cigar Box are getting nerfed for no real reason.

  • @lettuchia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966378#Comment_3966378

I quite literally never said either of those things, what are you talking about?

"...untile they fix her OP cooldown and vault"

"not making any effort to make her more fair to play against" which implies she is unfair to play against.

You did not say those exact things I said you complained about, but the implications are there.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

How would you fix her then? You’re not giving feedback, just disagreeing to everything.

Earlier you said 0.90 vault time for snug? What else?

You mentioned redirects? You’re not fond of them from what I can see. Should we…..remove the redirect power?

Judging by the replies, only a freddy/skull merchant treatment would be satisfactory.

I kinda hope Disney buy Netflix one day (I mean they may as well, since they already own pretty much everything else).

Nah, one corporation consuming another will not end well.

  • Eh, I say we don't repeat 6.1.0.

The meta doesn't completely change, but it does shift. Perks like Pop or Sloppy Butcher or Franklins are used less while some like Grim Embrace get used more.

Compare that to the set-in-stone meta of Ruin+Undying or DS, BT and DH, or the even older Brutal Strength, Enduring and Ruin, and the difference is night and day.

  • If I got it right, the main building of the Rallen Refuge map is the only part that will get to the live version.

The main building is apparently supposed to spawn as a tile on all of Withered Isle maps.

How much do you wanna bet this will be the ONLY time this will happen until god who knows when, lots of killers need this kind of balance n stuff, some s & a tier killers who are too strong & d & c tier killers who are too weak (prime examples: blight & ghoul whom a S tier, and xenomorph & demogorgon, whom are c/d rank killers)

Yeah, I think these kinds of reworks will not happen often.

The post that you're quoting is about buffs and addon changes, are you not staying on topic for your own post?😭

    Someone mentioned me, I see.

    Anyway...

I am seeing a lot of "she requires no skill to play" and "she is too hard to play against" from you, and I'm not sure if you want every killer to be Blight in terms of difficulty and Springtrap in terms of counterability, but I disagree.

It's fine to have easier to play killers, and it's fine to have killers whose power doesn't allow survivors to have complete control over/doesn't rely on survivor mistakes purely.

  • @lettuchia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943007#Comment_3943007

Don't try to sugar coat it, they are objectively buffs, buffs to an already horribly designed killer without addressing her ridiculously short cooldown for vault time

    I suggested 2 buffs.

One, that is objectively supposed to be there anyway (fixing and buffing Snug's pulling mechanic so he doesn't get dragged to pallets a mile away).

The other is buffing a mostly underwhelming power effect that mostly only denies Dead Hard.

Aside that, it's QOL, bug fixes, and add-on reworks.

  • @lettuchia said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966363#Comment_3966363

It should've never been buffed from 0.9s in the first place, it plays nearly identical to manual scamper so long as you have the slightest bit of aim

She can only get you in a Scamper like way if you stand still at the pallet camping it. Move a bit and Snug goes to China instead.

What do you mean Distortion needs charges?

You literally use the Blood Amber key for an advantage in chase... Distortion charges by being in chase, and Distortion barely takes any time to charge up at all.... the benefit of Distortion here is obvious... probably the strongest combo there is with modern Blood Amber.

OOO is fine man, I run it with OTR to prevent being tunneled, but if you play with it and have nerves og steel, it's often more of a benefit than a detriment. The only stealth killer it really hurts you against is Wraith, everyone else like Pig, Myers, Ghost Face, it doesn't really make a difference, and the tracking and stats boosts otherwise are pretty nice. Quite often you'll see the killer, and they aren't even looking your direction. It's a shame it doesn't work with Eyes of Belmont though 😢

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3966035#Comment_3966035

I mean sure... but if you're gonna have that downside, the Blood Amber needs to be buffed considerably elsewhere, because key should be much stronger for this purpose, but with that downside, then the Map Iri is just objectively better.

Tbh, that Map iri shouldn't exist.

Balance aside, it doesn't fit thematically, as Maps only track objects. In the same update, they removed the Empathy effect from Bloodsense maps, so there was no change of plans either.

  • If I got it right, it would work in a simple way.

On every map in The Withered Isle Realm, the "main building" of the PTB Fallen Refuge can spawn as a regular tile.

This, imo, would only work on Greenville Square, as there is enough space for it. Maybe Freddy's if it gets tucked into the other corner in the front opposite of shack.

Garden of Joy, I don't think so. The map is quite crowded already.

There can be up to 13 chests in a map, so you can create up to 6 of them.

And spend time equal to repairing a full gen or more doing so, along with multiple perk/offering slots.

  • I would like to see the condition to get it started replaced with a similar one to the old WGLF.

  • I don't like the new way of having just 5 per item.

There is a sweet spot imo, 8 or 9 add-ons per item.

Not that many, but not too little.

  • Where is Dying Light? Thanatophobia? Undone?

  • I hope for a rework, this effect, and ESPECIALLY this set-up of it, is only asking bully squads to put it on and be annoying.

  • Maybe…

But I'd give it 40/30/20 second Exhaustion like Background Player and Smash Hit have, not the usual 60/50/40 seconds.

  • I circle between multiple killers.

My "main" ones are Artist, Houndmaster, Plague, Myers and Wraith.

1 … 25 26 27 28 29 … 80
