Oh, maybe I should clarify, no I do not use regression.
-
No
-
First off, duration it too long. With that buff, you overshadow perks like 'Dance with Me'.
The effect isn't that strong, no, but having something trigger on demand will make it strong.
You could extend the duration to 20 seconds, and it'd be fine. You could allow hiding of aura for the 10 seconds as well. I don't think making it on demand is the solution.
-
Added in Sadako change.
-
She needs buffs in chase, these don't help her in chase, they just help you kill someone.
You need to focus on her manifest and demanifest. Someone mentioned giving her the ability to walk through pallets and windows while demanifested, that isn't too bad an idea. She also needs a buff on her phasing when coming in and out of manifest. I think that is the direction Sadako should go as it would be more rewarding using her demanifest effectively.
-
I see where you are coming from, and I agree with you in some of your comments promoting a healthy playstyle for killer. I do think their nerf was warranted though, PR and Pop, BBQ too with the more upcoming changes. They did what they were designed to do, just a little too well.
Starting to feel that all % regression should be scaled on progress and not total, like how pop is now. Push pop back to 25% of current progress, PR 15% current progress and add the scream back, change DMS to activate 5 seconds after hook with duration of 40 seconds. I think Than needs a nerf to 4.5% as well.
-
Yeah, pretty sure it is okay to use add ons so maybe there is a bug with it.
-
Huh, that's weird. You got quad iri with just his perks, is something worded differently with Dredge's?
-
Hey that is a cool way to meet in the middle. Nice idea.
-
It's definitely a fun way to play, and I really enjoy it. Hooks spawns are kind of all over the place, some close, some far, to where getting value is pretty inconsistent. It really is fun getting it to work though.
I'd rather teams go for sabo plays than do gens on both survivor and killer. The game is dull with no interaction.
-
Oo, sounds fun. Love the idea of having a killer utilize the trees within the map. That would require a lot of work on the dev end because of all the weird collisions up there but awesome idea.
The cocoon makes me think of a different way to sacrifice which is kind of cool but the majority of the time you would want to just hook them. Kind of similar to Sadako and condemning, niche value but still value.
Perks
- Hubris of Arachne – Cool idea and a fun way to mix up the game a little bit.
"If this generator is one of the last three repaired, the exit gates will require one additional generator to power up."
I do not think that should be a thing. Kind of busted even with the counterplay.
- Web of Lies – Kind of confused. Is this like retribution mixed with undying?
- Along Came a Spider – Scary on Wraith but why not, sounds fun. Hopefully that does not work with Nurse blink, I don't think it would.
Advocacy – This is a pretty strong perk. I can see it being a way to counter a tunnel but a perk shouldn't save a team like this one could. I'm not too sure about that one.
Set Boundaries – This is a cool perk but it is kind of strange that the entity is helping the survivor escape. I think it needs to be tweaked where when activated, that person is exposed and stuns the killer. It should also be disabled during end game.
Unselfish Bounty – Idk about that one chief.
-
Check out my attempt to combat this problem.

Well, no. I guess I didn’t explain it right 😅 it’s more like he chose and trained a special forces unit as part of the (military? FBI? I don’t know..) and later he arranges it so they are going against several mutants/zombies etc.
though i should add I only really watched a let’s play of the games once in English (not my native language) and could abbreviate stuff or forget or misremember things
Oohh, oops. Haha. Well appreciate it haha

Ah well. Maybe they’ll use mind control on a Demon killer in a Supernatural chapter someday. 😉
Someone dropped a concept for 'The Thing' here awhile back. The power had some controlling of survivors that I thought was so damn cool. I'll see if I can find it if you're curious.

Super speed and strength. He manipulated many people into thinking he is a good guy, leading a special unit etc just so he can use them as test objects for bioweapons.
also he is involved in plenty of experiments with viruses, bioweapons in general, mutations etc.
"Test objects for bioweapons" sounds like a mori haha.
I hope he has a fun skill shot. Maybe after a dash, he's locked in place to fire one of his weapons. Idk, spitballing. I'll think more on it.
-
So Wesker has speed? What else does he have? Weapons? Always fun to speculate.
-
I love the idea that when you are unhooked, the entity attempts to grab you back and complete the sacrifice. That is definitely something you could work with in trying to fight the tunnel, not so much with facecamping though.
I don't think shrouding the survivor is the way to go though. I think it would just work better having the entity trying to grab them, during this time, when the killer attempts to hit that survivor, the entity blocks the hit as it is attempting to consume that survivor.
The argument comes where 'why doesn't the killer just continue to follow that survivor until they get out of the radius?'
Maybe when the killer is nearing that survivor, the consumption is interrupted/slowed.
Not too sure but I think something is definitely there. I'll think more on it. Take a look at my attempt.
-
To be fair, I don't run BT anymore and at least if I get tunneled, I have a chance to make it to a pallet now. That is a pretty well-rounded change in my play that I appreciate them adding.
I still think there needs to be a built-in way for teammates to counter the tunnel/face-camp.
Check out my method,
-

The moment you remove bodyblocking with BT, you're just going to discourage altruism even more than it alread is, because the trade would be guaranteed instead of contested, even if another survivor as well gets off gens. Or, you would have ridiculous situations were coordinated survivors run together inside each other hoping that a swing gets a wonky registration on the bt'd survivor.
Especially, in endgame, survivors would just leave even faster than they do now. And anti tunneling is already nerfed into the ground when gens are completed, not even at egc.
The game would switch from a tunnel off hook, to just trade survivors on this cozy scourge hook.
Most is debatable but what you said about survivors running together, that will no doubt be a thing. Yeah, I'm not too sure about it now.

How's that list looking?
Not too good I'm afraid, I've been slacking on reading up with this thread.
-
Pretty sure you can still do it even after the changes, might have just mistimed the unhook?

What if Camping and Tunneling was not a problem, but a feature.
Think about if if you remove a Killer's ability to pick their targets and protect their goal, then the Slasher/Horror Theme falls apart.
I think bHVR knows that Killers need to be an unpleasant threat to Survivors for the game to function.
Absolutely, but there should also be ways for survivors to counterplay it effectively.

Game Balance Attempt — Dead By Daylight
There's my attempt. I need more input to make it better.

@geni said:
there is no solution to camping and tunneling, but you can reduce it by giving killer incentives to not do it, like more bloodpoints or a basekit No Way Out, basekit NWo only if soloq receive buffs and nurse and blight receive nerfs, thats my take
what? I get where you are coming from but the games where tunneling is a problem, are the games that don't make it to end game.
-
Share the list. I'm curious.
-
S Tier - Bond
The rest - The rest
-
Bond is better. And damn when I see someone using open-handed, I lose myself with the aura reading.
-
Bond, Breakout, Circle of Healing, Botany. Fun build for survivor.
Depends on the killer but mostly just aura reading.
Lethal Pursuer, I'm All Ears, BBQ, Darkness Revealed.
-
I didn't see a single solution reading through all of that. I think it is fine to bring up criticism but at least give something to work with. All I got was stop making money and remove content from the game. Yes, some issues you bring up are valid but share some ideas for improving the game. Just from reading your post, you seem miserable with the game. If it has held your attention this long, it must be doing something right.
I think variety is good for the game. I think that what they are doing with the patches is a great direction. They've promised more updates like this in the future, and I am eager to see the direction they take.

Does Hag count? 😁
Haha, I suppose she does.
-
First instinct was Granny as a killer. Don't ask me why.
-
Added Calm Spirit buff.
-
I'm good for both! And nerfing Pig too
-
Haha 'Nurse is op, she needs a rework'.
Let's give everyone a blink charge.
I don't think they could do that, they probably shouldn't. Now a new killer having an ability like that, hopefully it functions a little different from nurse's, then that would be cool.
-
I just see it as people getting frustrated. I saw it a lot when I first started in solo queue after the patch but now I have great games.
-
It's a conspiracy.
Hasn't read anything.
-
Huntress would feel so bad having that restriction. I just want to cross map with BBQ. I get where you are coming from but damn. I find it annoying with artist when I want cross maps. With Bubba, I can kind of see, but you can't stop an instant hook bomb, which would feel kind of dumb. I'm not too sure.
-
Running bond helps with knowing the direction. But yeah I guess you could do the blanket conceal in lockers. But, what is stopping everyone from jumping in a locker against legion? Oh he hit someone, let's all jump in a locker. Then Legion power is even more useless. As a killer, he is still low tier. You would need to buff him elsewhere if you made that change.
-
You can counter it with distance, knowing he is using his power. Though, there is a set of add ons that kind of eliminate that counter. Those add ons should probably get a nerf.
Although, you could always change killer instinct to aura reading haha. That would solve what you are targeting.
I don't think they can put 'killer instinct doesn't show whhen they are on lockers' only for legion. That creates a bizarre inconsistency.

With the way generators are, it's better to have 2 people on a gen with Prove Thyself granting a 15% bonus. If the killer comes, one person hides and then finishes the gen after the killer leaves. If the killer camps the gen, they leave and start another gen.
Sure, technically it's faster to have everyone split up, but since killers have short attack cooldowns, survivors have a shorter hit boost, they can instantly regress 2% off of a gen. It's better overall to have 2 teams of 2 on gens that way despite the inefficiency, the gens get done. Sure, 1 person per gen is more effective, but if the killer scares them off, kicks a gen at 80% then chases them and nobody stops the regression that's a lot of progress wasted.
That's assuming the killer takes the time to kick the gen rather than going for the down. But yeah, I see your point.

Prove Thyself is mathematically a loss for the survivors, but it becomes advantageous when you complete individual gens quickly. It limits the opportunities for killers to regress them.
For example. Killer with Eruption kicks a gen, you repair it with another survivor before he downs some other survivor, and you've just completed a gen in 45s and saved 25s of Incapacitated on two survivors.
Or you have three survivors working on three gens, and the killer repeated chases you off each one and kicks it with Call of Brine, because it takes him less than 90s to reach each one. But if you repair one in 45s, the killer now needs to make it to each gen in less than 45s instead of less than 90s. he doesn't get that kick in, doesn't get 30+ seconds of 200% regression, you save yourself a ton of time.
Absolutely, if the killer is running multiple slowdowns. I usually avoid all slowdown, that's why I am of this opinion.

Lillith has a good guide on YT.
-
Yes, a perk. Iron Maiden for example. Infectious Fright. There are a few others.
-
Pasted so it is readable.
can anyone help how can i do it i have tried all the things that make survivors scream but nothing works does it still need some kind of perk or killer or is it a challenge bug like i put it under the bug report ?
-
As killer, you want survivors to group. Prove thyself does not make gens go faster but encourages people to group. You do gens fastest working on separate gens so I don't get the prove thyself targeting.
As for OP, it could just be matchmaking. Maybe you are getting more efficient players. Idk what you are running, nor do I know how you play, so that is all I can assume.
-
There is a reason so few people use those perks, I would assume those who do are going for achievements.
So adding ways to push for more teamplay is individual preference but taking them away is solving the issue? I don't think I can get anywhere with this conversation. GL
-
Lmao, I second this.

what if the blood points for the killer regresses until reaching a total of zero if he camps a survivor for x minutes?
i'm not talking about only one of these:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MLT49T6W1K1W/asdasdsadadasdad.jpg
I'm talking about bringing all of them to zero.
You wanna win the game like that? fine, but you leave with zero bp.
i bet you we would never see a camping bubba ever again
People don't camp for bp, if they did, they would notice how little it gives you. They camp to win. People have the mindset that winning, by any means, is what makes the game fun.

There appears to be a noticeable difference of beliefs then.
Given that camping and tunneling are vocal points of frustration in the community, given that Dead by Daylight is a video game for the purpose of fun, should it not be a given that the game be inherently designed to combat unfun scenarios?
I think a part of the fun that revolves around dbd are the moments where you can make plays that change the outcome of the game. For survivor, making plays as a team is that much more fun. A lot of games I see survivors splitting up to do gens, they complete the objective but do nothing as a team. Those are always the most boring games, for killer and survivor. Encouraging more teamplay is the best way to handle any core mechanic problem. That is why it should not be a passive process as it will remove another instance where a team can come together and make a play.
