  • Haha, extend your FOV slider and get flashlight saved from behind you. That's a little nit-picky. Extra FOV is wild with killer, can't just give that out. Shadowborn is crack for kill, once you use it, you can't stop.

  • If you stream haha. They look way better now.

    - bloodlust still easier to get when it should be entirely removed (or at least tiers above the first shouldn't exist), especially with chases being simplified by the basekit buffs already. Higher bloodlust tiers only reward bad killers into getting undeserved hits

    - still no mention on how this patch should help against camping & tunneling, even though according to how it was publicized on the stream and in the first dev note, it was supposed to focus on these 'tactics' too. As I said elsewhere, the 5 second BT won't help if a killer is hard on tunneling someone. And it doesn't help against camping, that is actually encouraged already by the basekit buffs + the longer generator times, as confirmed by @MandyTalk herself

But keep pretending these problems don't exist

I know they exist, most of my survivor games are fun and I rarely get situations where someone is tunneled. Even when someone is tunneled, you just play against it, you can make fun out of it if you are playing for fun. I always run BT but never DS, BT is a fun perk, DS isn't very fun. OTR will be the personal BT so that is an improvement. They are making some big changes, and I am of the mindset that this is only the beginning. I have high hopes.

  • This patch is killer sided all the way, I don't see the direction you are taking. I get your frustration but they are actively working to make it better. The fact that they are changing the game this much is a great sign. I hope it continues, regardless if it is good or bad, I appreciate they are making big changes.

The only change I wish they made was adding some more prestige awards.

Like maybe giving you the new potrait background if you get a killer/survivor to prestige level 100

Outside of that, these are a lot of great changes

Yeah getting to P100 is quite the feat, you get the new 100 icon but a background would be the cherry on top. It will take awhile before anyone reaches that and they can always do that in the future.

  • Didn't use it before, too much of a crutch and I know the 'dead hard for distance' feeling all too well.

Good that you can't 'dead hard for distance' anymore on windows but pallets are still there.

  • Would guess the 20th

  • Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Twins, Artist, Hag, Huntress, Oni, Pinhead, Pyramid Head, Plague, Slinger, Demo, Billy, Bubba, Nem, Trickster, Dredge, the rest.

Plague is what I am unsure of.

Because people are dead stuck on the idea that "The Thing" is a shape shifter monster. It, in fact, is not. It is a monster that infects people and turns them into other instances of the thing which later disguise themselves as the organism whose cells they have substituted.

If we consider "The Things" by Peter Watts at least semi canon, it gives us a slight insight into how The Thing operates. It infects the living creature and overtakes its cells in a manner of a virus, changing them into the ones of The Thing - a decentralized consciousness that grows stronger the more cells it has. We also know that unique nature of humans or other beings on earth is that unlike other lifeforms in the Universe, according to The Thing, they are not decentralized and instead are centralized, having heterogenic kind of anatomy with different organs serving different purpose and the brain operating the rest of the body like a meat puppet. Because of that, when The Thing burrowed inside humans, it didn't have to imitate them, their bodies moved on their own as long as the The Thing didn't take over the brain. Once it did, however, it became able to nearly perfectly copy them.

So, with that in mind, here's how I would make The Thing's power work:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0A355X9BFGFJ/image.png

    To put it short:

Whenever The Thing attacks a survivor, it can choose to infect them with its attack or not. Survivors don't know whether the infection has occured and their only way of knowing who might be the next Thing is to track people that got hit & cleared.

Whenever there's an already infected survivor in the trial and a new one is infected, the previously infected survivor gets free from the infection.

Once the infection in the survivor develops enough, The Thing gets a small insight into their surroundings allowing it to known whether there are survivors nearby the infected survivor to then activate its ability and assimilate the survivor, taking full control over them and changing their physical form to become lethal.

Assimilated survivor still possesses an ability to regain control and has to struggle with The Thing over control with his body and once they succeed, they break free from the infection. After that, the infection in the survivor restarts its timer and pauses it for 120 seconds, then the process of becoming fully infected starts again.

Assimilated survivor gets an access to 2 separate abilities - Tentacle grip that allows to start vaulting/breaking animation from greater distance and Bladed appendage that is a lethal attack working similar like Nemesis' whip and Billy's saw.

Survivors have a second way to keep track of who is who. They can find tools to take a blood sample and expose it to fire, revealing whether the checked survivor is infected or not. If the checked survivor is in fact The Thing, they reveal themselves and attack nearby survivors, dealing damage to them. The Thing may choose to take control of the revealed survivor, starting Assimilation or it may ignore it, which means that within 10 seconds the Assimilation ends prematurely.

Damn man, nice job. That's pretty damn cool and well thought out.

  • They introduced matchmaking incentives, that was a pretty good game change. Although the idea of base kit WGLF and BBQ (stacking BP multi) seems like another great change for the game to encourage that playstyle, which makes the game more fun.

Edit: Added, if you farm out 121 tiers for your characters, you can get P2 lvl 50 for the next patch. Take advantage of it now, BBQ and WGLF.

  • Falling asleep on adrenaline haha

  • I don't see me using it, I'd rather go for WGLF and FTP. That just sounds more nasty.

  • Screw gen slowdown: BBQ, Darkness Revealed, Iron Maiden, Corrupt Intervention

    Just chuck hatchets

  • Lol, a lot of 'game health' but no specifics.

I think what they are doing is fine. Game health wise, map balance needs a tinkering.

  • Oh ######### Alien. Haha. I don't see how that would translate in but sounds fun.

  • 20th is my guess

  • Billy Huntress Demo

    Mikaela

  • Cruel Regret: Well damn, that's pretty scary to think about.

Hex: false opportunities: That sounds like a fun hex totem

Hex: All seeing eye: I feel like this could be a regular perk reducing it to 5 seconds.

Power: So is it like a channel? Is it like Demo picking a portal then hitting CNTL? Going to be funny blocking 6 gens with corrupt and this early game haha.

Amanda’s reverse beartrap: I get the idea but that just seems weird.

Nurses bandages:Where's my added bloodpoints, this is like speed limiter right? haha

Bubba Sawyer’s Leatherface: Haha, I picture the claws from a gen hitting the survivor I just hit.

Tricksters Blades: Wut. I think I know what ya mean.

    Iridescent Sacrificial Hook: Again, scary.

    Terror radius: 28 huh

  • Time to afk farm my Huntress cosmetics.

Nah, I like the idea though.

  • You see, that's all I need. Black wards are consumables, I don't like spending anything haha. See if there is a perk that does the work for me, then that's all I need. Screw regression, I just want fun games.

Oh, and this perk shouldn't work with ultra rare and above addons, iut's probably for the best.

For an alt effect, maybe gives a random killer addon as a freebie? That could be fun, if you ran 2 add ons, it would give you a random 3rd. I'd be double engravings billy with a surprise speed limiter haha.

That could make some fun in builds for sure.

  • Getting all killers to 121 in perk tiers so I can get P3 for all on patch day. The grind continues.

  • Divine Intervention: I can't imagine this mechanic ever shutting down a nurse. Nurse dominates most games if the player knows what they are doing.

Divine Protection: That's a very valid point and I don't have a rebuttal for it.

Hook changes: Tell me how it can be abused, I just can't see how it is possible how I have written it.

Dead Hard: Hey, I suggested less 'dead hard's in a game. You can't really remove a perk from the game so adding conditions is the best way to handle it.

You're all good man, a honest try and sharing thought is all I am looking for.

In all honesty, I think the game in its current state is fine, for me, I see camping/tunneling as just another part of the game and something to counterplay against. The problem comes in when people who are somewhat new to the game get these matches consistently, it can be a deterrent and it can promote hostility toward the other side. This is all banter and just sharing opinion.

  • For dead hard, I added the condition of only working after being unhooked.

Dead Man's CD was extended by 15 seconds.

Way I see it, if camping/tunneling is as big as a problem as people say, then dramatic change is necessary. This is the attempt at addressing them. Yes, I agree that they are quite far fetched, but I see them solving the issue. Build alternative ideas using this perspective.

As far as the perks, again just my opinion but I feel the perk changes are solid, outside of whispers anyway. I just run whispers a lot and having it as a passive for killer seems nice, especially with the talk of adding more HUD for survivors regarding what other survivors are doing.

    Appreciate you reading though.
