Perk died after the nerf to once per gen. Personally I just never see it used anymore.

I still use it, but you do have to remember which gens have and haven't triggered it yet. In fairness, it was a bit strong before.

  • Oni could as the 10 secs aura with demon dash could wreak havoc. Well worth a go.

Ask yourself "Is this a buff for SWFs?" if the answer is no (which it is here) throw the post away. It simply bridges the very wide, still very very wide gap between solo and SWFs

It helps identify incompetent teammates and aids newbies. It DOES however, spoil the experience for competent solo's that enjoy the challenge playing alone offers. I don't want my hand held in games. Make kindred basekit, 1 free unbreakable, that would have been sufficient, but this has overstepped it for me.

  • I can count on one hand how many times ive had survivors hook suicide. Most recent was when 3 gen defending with Knight <insert Leo Di Caprio meme> ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I don't see the point in doing it. Atleast run the killer for a bit and give your teammates a chance.

It's not "training wheels" it's trying to make solo queue less miserable

I just played a match whilst knowing how many gens were being done, how near completion they were, who was being chased, who was booning up. Add aura perks to that it was like watching spoilers lol. All tension and spontinuity has been removed, all because a few newbies run around like headless chickens. Atleast let us turn them off personally.....

  • I've played against him about 4 times in total. I don't even bother checking the locker doors for locks upon spawn anymore. I really like facing him but he's easily the least picked killer along with Twins for me.

  • Had that happen a couple of times. Very rare occupance for me but dam well annoying when it happens.

  • Haven't been this excited/intrigued for a chapter ever. Knight was leaked so spoiled the suprise somewhat. I think it could be a female killer, or that skull belongs to Arianna.

Think it could be a dual killer. A mechanical person who has built some kind of robotic skeleton.

    Exciting stuff ๐Ÿ‘

  • Apparently FIFA is worse. Guy at work reckons the abuse is constant and pretty disgusting.

  • I had a game a couple of nights ago as killer and saw 4 red envelopes and a party streamer. Thought straight away "This should be good mannered contest"

Nah, 2 Ace's wearing matching leopard cosmetics decided to abuse Flip Flop Boil Over in the basement and upstairs room on Haddonfield as soon the nearest outside hook had gone ๐Ÿ™„

    I'm doing fine with him.

He's rather strong in today's meta.

I'm doing well with him apart from when I face survivors that hold w immediately or face multiple dead hards.

  • Hopefully it's another popular original theme just as the last was. A pirate themed chapter would be my pick, with a shipwreck containing several floors, a brigg and partially flooded compartments. Huge potential for a chapter like that.

If its licensed, well I don't have many that I'm keen on. I prefer the originals way more. Think it'll be another gaming franchise that gets picked. They do have Candyman and Springtrapp up there sleeves which they could pull out at any time I feel, but not expecting that next time out.

  • I preferred the old dead hard as it doesn't negate my killers power in such a harsh way. Knight is weak enough as it is becuase as his guards are unreliable in chase, so when one triggers dead hard, you gain nothing. As for Oni, nothing more annoying than landing a well placed demon strike and the survivor presses a button to ignore it completely. This wastes my killers power gauge and momentum I had. Distance has now become a 3rd health state + extended chase time. Distance loss is negated as killers now have to choose between taking the DH or eating a pallet/vault.

Its not buffed imo, its just moved sideways.

  • Does anyone know what the cut off is for guards disappearing if too close to hook? There's surely a threshold.

  • Because the cartoon horse and neon cosmetics are far more important than an actual character.

  • I got called an inbred **** by a salty survivor last week. He'd have seen Norfolk on my profile page bless him. Thanked him for showing an interest ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Sometimes I try and send a message to say well played or to thank them for moronic behaviour, and it says that there profile is private and cannot be messaged. So within the confiines of the console there is a way to keep your profile locked down.

  • My attitude and mindset has changed drastically over the past 6 months in regards to teamwork. Usually, I ll shred gens and keep away from the killer, only to be hooked and killed once which was annoying as af. However, I kinda established that actually that taking some heat of last hook / injured survivors can be beneficial to chances of escaping as it practically extends the match duration by making it a potential 12 hook game rather than a 10.

  • People seem to forget that there are actually good/experienced solo players out there. Not all good players play with mates on comms. Decent solo players are laughing at this update.

    Training wheels mode now

  • I'm a solo player and I also play killer. I personally think the hud icons give away far too much info. Unnecessary imo.

  • Pinhead, Legion, Plague, Doctor all require teamwork. That's not something always associated with solo que. So any of those 4 tbh. Doctor no skill is annoying af.

  • Perhaps he meant concentration camp as in you lost focus during the match like picked up your phone whilst chasing or missed a few basic attacks ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Joking aside, online behaviour is shocking but is to be expected. Had that been on console, playstion will probably have given them a severe warning or ban.

  • Mid game is more important. I've had loads of games where I've started really well and have the upper hand but then they recover mid game and get back into it leaving me scrambling around late game.

You need constant presure ALL game every game. Any lapse and the survivors can turn it around.

  • I find the Knight is useful when survivors don't hold W. As soon as you face survivors that do hold W, his guards are hopeless.

I'm all ears works nicely on him as you can head off those that fast vault when looking to 2 v 1 them.

  • @Quizzy said:

You'll be fine. Just bait it out.

Tell that to the Knights guards or Oni mains whilst they're in demon dash.

  • Sounds and visuals were far better back then. Not a neon cosmetic or elf costume in site either.

  • Oni

    Spirit

    Dredge

    Wesker

    Plague

  • Survivor - (Item) Phone ๐Ÿ“ฑ

    * Survivors carry phones which contain 3 charges (battery life) When activated, survivors can call other survivors. The call reciever can choose to accept or reject. If the receiving survivor accepts, the caller will get the ping location (icon) for the location of that survivor. This would be ideal for solo players calling for help for heals, to double up on a gen or get together to go for a save. Its basically a buff to solo players. The drawback to using a phone, would be that the vibration of the call being relatively loud enabling the killer to hear it if close by. Would be amusing if the survivor was hiding in a locker when the phone went off.

Killer - To be able to regress the exit switch by interacting with it. This would combat 99% of exit gate progress, forcing survivors to actually open it and think about leaving promptly.

  • If I dominate/play well and get to 3 kills, I'll usually let the 4th go unless they got my back up during the game with repeated dead hards, bodyblocking or flashlight saves. I very rarely get given the hatch or escape when I play survivor though, must be 1 in 500 that do let me live.

  • I'm having a blast with Knight, so any improvements are welcome imo.

  • Nurse

    Blight

    ----------------------

The rest are subjective imo. Although you'd probably put Wesker, Spirit, Artist and Huntress towards the top there somewhere. As Oni main, he can be top 5 but he's got so much counterplay thus I feel he's somewhat overrated.

Would you happen to have some good tips?

I'm really struggling to make the knight work so it would really help

    * Play him like spirit albeit aim to drop the guard ahead of where they are running. Try and disquise your phases by running alongside walls and obstacles when looking to place ahead of a running survivor. Use your ears, you'll hear the chase audio que if you get so close to a survivor, if not, you'll be able to hear them running/breathing.

    * Firing patrols at unthrown pallets works well as it forces the survivor to leave it or risk getting hit by the guard and by you.

    * Use map of the realm and dried horsemeat. The detection range is bigger and makes it pretty easy to detect a survivor providing you're accurate. The other addon increases his hunt duration which buys you extra time to cut them off

    * When you get a survivor detected, try to head them off in a corner or at a pallet. I find survivors are more occupied trying to avoid the guard chasing them more than the actual knight that's waiting for them nearby. Try to let the guard hit first, if not, get the hit and let them run off.

    * Fire off guards repeatedly. Your power recovers quickly so use it as much as you can. Keep spamming your power in and around gens and you'll pretty much always get a detection. Firing guard patrols constantly is oppressive and survivors won't get a moments piece.

    * If your patrol doesn't find anyone/undercooked it, hit the gaurd with your melee weapon. It'll cancel the guard allowing you to prepare the next one.

    * Only use Carniflex at breaking, he's ok in a chase still so don't feel obliged to waste him on a pallet if your in a chase.

    * I'm all ears works nicely on him as survivors often rush a vault to escape a gaurd, only then giving you the info you need to head them off.

Overall - Just keep firing guards off often and keep the survivors constantly being chased and harrased.

  • On a 6 game winning streak (no 3 genning) last match was the knights map and before that, garden of joy. He's pretty easy to play and takes little skill imo. I get guards detecting survivors pretty much every time I fire a patrol path. The 2v1 is the way to go with him.

  • I ll have games where I hit them consecutively and others not at all. Kinda depends on how the game is going. If under pressure, I ll play it safe instead of risking a miss and giving away position. Id say I hit great around 6/7 out of 10 (console)

  • On a 5 match winning streak as knight on ps4 pro. He's perfectly viable imo. Last win was on garden of joy too ๐Ÿ™‚

Send your ghost so that they start their patrol path where you expect them to be in a few seconds. Then make sure you don't just follow the same path your ghost will be taking, try to approach survivors a bit more from the side. Knight is at his best when you can sandwich survivors between yourself and your ghost.

    This

  • UK player (East) and had no issues at all last few games ive played.

  • As an Oni main. New dead hard is worse than the old version. Atleast then I could bail out of my run or commit to it with demon strike. Having a hit nulled and voided at the click of a button is a kick in teeth.

  • Won my last 3 ganes playing him like spirit and 2 v 1 ing the chased survivor. 3 gen works well on him too, another good strat.

  • Wraith is pretty easy to hear coming (breathing) if you don't have any visual or audio clues for 20+ seconds at the start of the match, its highly likely its a stealth killer. Spine chill is probably another big culprit. I run tinkerer Oni and more often than not, the survivors have bolted from the gen I'm charging too as if they knew I was coming.....

  • I liked pretty much all of those tbh. The gens get decorated during events however. All good ideas though. Who doesn't love customisation๐Ÿ‘Œ

  • I check the next day hoping they streamed it. Love watching my games re run. Its pretty useful seeing what the opposition says and does regarding your playstyle, whether that be positive or negative.

    8/10 they ain't recording though ๐Ÿ˜’

  • Total stalemate imo. Both equally to blame.

  • His guards needs a little kick but apart from that he's not so bad. I've got a handle on the power, just need the guards to step it up a bit.

  • New dead hard. Its the only thing that irks me .... besides bodyblocking at hooks.

  • If the guards get buffed, Knight wins as do the survivors as it would encourage Knights to go after players instead of playing for a 3 gen.

I have no trouble having guards find survivors as I play him like a foresighted Spirit, but the guards don't do well enough alone thus having to commit to 2 v 1's.

  • You should play knight against a team of dead hards and see if you think Knight needs a nurf. I had guards lose around 10 chases per match in a handful of games last night, with one match consisting of 7 dead hards ffs. His best strat I've found is a combination of 3 gen and proxy camping hooked survivors (hook swapping)

  • I have more issue with lack of maps/variants as opposed to map sizes. I can't understand why they've not used the base templates of maps to create new variants. Half the work is already done, it only needs a few new looking buildings/themes. Backwater could use another one, Sheltered woods and Rotten fields are dull and could use say an abandoned theme park, graveyard, church etc.

  • The Dredge's dark power is terrific imo. Atmospheric, tense an actually feels like a horror game. They've ditched fog and horror aspects for neon cosmetics and party stuff.

  • Another killer that was unnecessarily gutted. Very rare to face nowadays sadly. Might play her again as playing the knight kinda feels the same when using his patrol path.

  • Friendly killer? What's your name, Casper?
