My rework idea for Visionary was to turn into "Batteries Included" for survivors.

you really don’t understand that other people may live differently..?
Iri Shards only accumulate enough if you play enough - some people that play this game may not be able to every day/every week due to life circumstances (work, family, really just time away from your gaming system…)..
I am not saying these are a majority of people and it probably wouldnt make that much of a difference in this specific case.. but theoretically it isnt that unlikelyStill no excuse to put on sale something that you are giving for free at the same time

I was actually looking at buying that skin but held off until I got more purple thingymybobs.
Glad I didn't buy because I got the skin for free and I've already got a trapper mask that fits in perfectly with the skin. I've also got a nice trapper weapon so I'm happy all round.
I got the skin I wanted without the need to purchase the head and weapon too.
I was thinking about buying that Dwight's head piece. Glad I wanted long enough

you don’t think there is any Players out there that might be unable to login during specific times/ie the next two weeks?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3935066#Comment_3935066
they are giving away the other pieces the next two weeks, gotta login during the specific time Frame to get the other pieces
Sure, but a player willingly to spend real money on a cosmetic when they can just get for free? I don't think so. If someone spends money and want to spend money on DBD they can log in at least once a week for sure. If not, they would buy with iri shards
-
They are still on sale.See the "5d 20h" on top?
-
@Mooks said:
I guess not everyone will be able to get the Login rewards but they still might be interested in the skin?
But it can also ‚trick‘ people into buying it when they didnt pay attention for that giveaway..
Login rewards: log in at least once a week for 3 weeks
Sale: Lasts 6 days
I don't think so

Its on sale. Better get it while its cheap.
Or wait 2 weeks to receive it for free

The "why" is the main problem and has been stated many many times now
The "why" runs the gauntlet from "I was tunneled" to "ohh fk it's pig" to "I got this map" to "I got caught under 30 seconds" to "ohh fk it's nurse" to "I got caught first" to "my build doesn't work against this specific killer" to "the killer had lightborn"... Do we NEED to go on?
At this point, yes something needs done since a lot of the listed ones are simply something that can happen when normally "playing the game".
There's also a fact that regardless of what killer and what loadout they are using, people can still camp, tunnel, slug and do many more things. Maybe in the future when they address these "issues" people will think twice before giving up right off the bat

@Tartufica said:
But why?
Our thoughts exactly

It was not the anniversary stream
-
When the FNAF chapter drops I will play other killers, and I will tunnel, camp, slug and do everything in between 😈
-
"Hmm, why people don't want to play our game? Should we find out why? Nah, let's just make it harder to not play the game, and if they still do let's ban them temporarily so they really can't play our game"
It totally works

Personally I see it as a buff for survivors... maybe I'll not lose 20% of my games due to some rash throwing for content or giving up immediately cause they got outplayed by a Myers.
When you play survivor and realize your matches are not going anywhere because a survivor is just running around not doing gens, I will wait for your reply here agreeing with me

Killers and SoloQ are the people most affected by Go Next. This system benefits SoloQ Survivors too by preventing people from throwing on them. It also means a game will not become a 3v1 early which IS a massive buff to the Killer itself; it's one whole less Survivor. This also benefits Killers by keeping good Survs in the round longer, so they may lose anyway, so they might not gain MMR and might not boost into higher levels JUST because people Go Next and hand them the win.
There is nothing about this that solely buffs for Killers and doesn't address a massive issue both sides have.
If a survivor is willing to go next but can't, they will not play the match to win, therefore its a buff to killers
-
Now that survivors can't die on hook on purpose
They will never touch a gen, they will run the entire map looking for chests to unlock and totems to cleanse, they will hide in lockers in front of the killer to die faster 😍 And the other players will be wasting their time in a match thats almost impossible to win but they don't know it
In all seriousness, that issue needed to be addressed, but this "go next" mechanic was not it
-
It was so easy to implement the true go next prevention
Leave the hook timer separated from the "kobe" timer. Each survivor has 3 chances to self unhook without changing anything on the hook timer
During 2nd phase, just remove skill checks. If the survivor is on hook and the gates are opened or there are 2 survivors left, they can press a button to instantly die -
"Go next prevention" is a massive buff for killers, again….

so.. you admit there isnt any actual argument for your case then?
What if these people are happy with DbD gameplay wise and it would just make them a bit more happy if this cosmetic was available? They wont drop the Game just because cosmetics arent available but they would use more in-Game currency if it was..?
Btw I doubt anyone would look for another game just because some random forum user tells them toThere is argument
FOMO
Don't wanna lose cosmetics? Play the game

Why should they look for a different Game? It’s not even gameplay related..
We are talking about optional cosmetical items that can easily be added to the existing in-Game shop and I haven’t seen one actual reasonable reason to not add them there?
If cosmetic, which is something that doesnt change the gameplay at all, is so important to these people, then yes, they should look for a different game. Gameplay is not the most important aspect to these people.

Because new players and people that couldnt get it for whatever reason during the time the cosmetics where available would be happy to have other chances/purchase pption and players use currency for it which benefits the game development
so what are the arguments against it besides ‚the other ones don’t do it‘ - which doesnt seem reasonable to me at allI guess they should look for a different game if that is so important

But why?
Would it actually be detrimental to anyone if DbD didnt follow what all the other online games do? Should DbD be forced to do it like all the other online games?
But why should they be different then?
-
Newer players are newer players., period. Is there any other online game out there that has been on for over 10 years that a new player can get literally anything the game was providing since day 1? Dead By Daylight should be forced to do that? If this new player is not happy then they should think twice before playing it. If this is so importante they should make a research before buying the game.

Any DBD related codes are not bannable. These are codes that the devs create, even if it’s an old code & still active, I’m confused on why you would think you could get banned using them?
A couple of years ago a bunch of codes got leaked in a discord server. I remember people redeeming them and announcing they were getting skins and even auric cells packs. Don't know what happened to them.
-
I would not reveal the aura
I would hide scratch marks for 5 seconds when it activates, and add hide aura as well since Distortion is trash now

Will be a badge with the characters default portrait

There isn't. But a 1 minute penalty (which is the first penalty for dcing that day) is not going to affect that parent adversely in the slightest. But for people who consistently quit (for whatever reason) the timer goes up to where it does have an effect. Now if your kid is getting hurt multiple times a day this might effect you, but in that case I think you need to stop playing dbd and start paying more attention to your kid.
[This logic works for just about any type of non rage quitting dc]
I don't know how it was hard to understand but the child situation is just an example. Any real life chore will take the priority over a videogame for most sane people

My kid got hurt! HE NEEDS HELP!!!!
let me just run to the killer…
and he downed me…
and now he'll hook me, so I'll just miss these skill-checks…
Yes
-
Theres no counterplay
-
One of the 2
-Unbreakable basekit with 2 survivors left in the game
-The slugged survivor can "surrender" when slugged even if the other last survivor is still up, and surrender in these conditions will not leave a bot behind forcing the hatch to immediately spawn
-
This is a terrible situation for BHVR because the killer is licensed

This is gonna sound crazy but stick with me. People like the power and find it fun! Trapper is weak. That’s a fact. He is awful. But people find placing traps fun.
So people play weaker killer for fun, sure. Then why are they caring about losing the game to a perk?
So MFT needs a nerf because it's great against weak killers, so survivors should never have a good perk afterall. All perks should be capped to clash with the weakest killer in a fair trade and leave stronger killers even stronger. Don't you think that mindset is a bit entitled?
-
@Bodark said:
I find it funny perks like this exist. Great against weak killers and horrible against strong ones. The perk design team needs an overhaul.
"weak killers"
If they are weak, then why would people play them? -

I like the nod to Lucky Star, you have balls of steel for rocking No Mither. I could never in a million years. 😂 I still remember this time that a Feng Min was running to main of Shattered Square, I was behind the door frame with IW, and the Kaneki flung himself into the door frame to cut off Feng Min, and he was mere centimeters away from me.
Iron Will is very great against him, along with Lucky Star as you deny them sound that they mostly rely on along with aura reading.
Lucky Star is underrated for flashlight saves. It gives you Bond and Iron Will in just 1 perk
But I have been running No Mither because I want to test the surrender mechanic out. What happens if I'm slugged but I can pick myself up anytime. I want to see it myself and I don't want to throw a match just to see it, so I play normally
As for the rest of the perks, I am a Nightlight user, I like to do the build challenges 😁
-
My experience
-
Whats the point of making good perks if they are gonna get nerfed later?
-
How is it possible to know they are rage quitting and not quitting because their 3 year old kid got hurt and needs their attention?
-
Yes and thats why syringes are gonna get nerfed to the ground very soon
-
Trash perk, don't waste your perk stot
-
But you don't see Dead Hard anymore
-
Game has been unfun for survivors for a while now
The only way to have fun is to queue up with friends and just mess up with meme perks
-
L change
I like the variants, they were making things fresh for once
-
Skull Merchant
Until they remove the drones and give her an actual good power
-
People have fear of blood
They should remove blood from the game
-
DS is so awful that I never use, and when the killer tunnels me I eventually go inside a locker to "force DS" and the killer 90% of the time just open the locker expecting the DS. They even stand still for a second before carrying me to the hook
-
As long as you are trying to progress the game, which means doing gens even if it's for just a few seconds at a time, you are fine
Thats why my suggestion to end these kind of situations is to give the killer the power to start EGC when 2 survivors are left in the game.
-
I think after 100 props the player should be rewarded with 1000 iri shards
