I will say this once again, good, I'm glad it got changed, Stevegull was funny exactly once, hearing the exact same joke repeated so many times it unironically reaches into the quadruple digits isn't funny, it's obnoxious, especially when said joke's entire punchline is "Hey aren't Steve's screams incredibly loud and jarring for no reason? Isn't that funny? Wouldn't it be funnier if I combined it with Scene Partner to constantly bleet out the same 3 voiceclips over and over and over and over again every single chase? Isn't that funny?!"

The joke is dead, my ears and my patience are glad it's dead, and may BHVR do the same to the rest of the incredibly grading screams some of the Survivors have so that the joke never comes back.

  • I like the lines in lobby. Not a fan of them during matches

  • Yay the choose-your-three-gen-adventure map is back. Still with a grand total of 1 decent loop outside of shack.

Sure, but you got plenty of (conventionally) attractive characters already.

Other players just want a bit more variety.

Fair enough. I guess we'll see who wins.

  • Players (men and women) generally prefer playing as/looking at attractive characters. This is basic biology not some perversion.

You cant down survivors with power stop acting like it doesnt take skill against good players. Timing is everything and he cant use his power around tight loops. Survivors have the most brain dead perks of the 2 roles as well. Hold w to activate sprint burst, press space because you got downed after the killer hooked you and got you again after basekit BT. Prove thyself takes nothing to activate..... I can keep going

So leaping across the map with his power, stopping on a dime behind a survivor., and then downing them doesnt count as using his power because he still uses the basic attack button? I suppose we need to buff spirit then by that logic.

Both sides have easy to use perks. Down a survivor and half the gens explode. Hook a survivor and all the gens block. Kick a gen or load into the map to bypass any game sense in locating survivors. I can keep going...

Completely failing to understand that it's a 1v4 game for the killer. If each survivor has a "fair" game with the killer, then the killer has zero chance to play at all. We've been there before, look at what's been happening in the game when the survival rates dip above 50% and you'll understand why things are the way they are. Hell, look at matches against killers with sub-50 kill rates right now and understand that that's what you asking for as the killer experience . . . across the board. You won't get queue pops anymore because your victims, err, the killers will all quit.

Interesting that having an equal chance of escaping or dying (winning or losing) is considered "having zero chance to play". If killer players will only play when the game is unfairly balanced in their favor, would you perhaps call that gasp..."entitled"?

There are plenty of tantrums about the 40% escape rate. They show up on this forum all the time.

How dare survivors ask for the game to be fair.

Ghoul is not fine he clearly needs a rework due to his design but I know devs won't do that for ages so nerfs are needed to make him tolerable to play against.

    Changes:

Grab attacks tuned to no longer hit through walls

Ghoul 4.4ms. Ghoul no longer keeps survivors locked in place during the grab animation.

    Ghoul Scamper Removed.

Ghoul kagune leap no longer cancelable mid air.

Kagune leap cancel has increased slowdown and attack cooldown when canceling leap.

Just fix the mid-air cancel. make SOMETHING about his kit require some skill and fore-thought. also getting deep wounded through the floor on 2 story maps needs to be fixed…

If his lunge was increased like +50% or more like 70% and he would break pallets with hitting them in evil incarnate mode with his m1 lunge like he does now with strike and all his buffs he has now would stay I wouldnt be mad (old mayers had 20 or 25% longer lunge in tier 3 which wasnt much because everyone predroped and this cooked him way more than bubba).

Or maybe having a fully controllable instadown gigalunge for 60 seconds with a 3 second recharge isn't fair after killers cried to get every pallet turned back into a death trap

  • @diablo916 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/462379/so-still-no-ghoul-changes-huh

No more nerfs! People paid money for him and hes supposed to be the power role. It already feels terrible to get a cooldown after breaking a pallet. Most brain dead change they could've ever done yet survivors are still whining in the comments about him. I play him exclusively now because what else is there that can compete at high mmr hell? Blight? Nurse is bugged. Nobody else stands a chance to win with all the survivors second chance perks and fast heals. M1 killers are dead in the water at this point.

Ghoul players with autoaim hitscan-through-walls power calling something else braindead.

  • Still waiting for the flood of perkless Ghostface and Trapper players that were just waiting for anti-camp, anti-tunnel, anti-slug, and pallet density to be cancelled before returning to the game for fun wholesome matches. Oh right, its still the same OP killers on repeat with no viable options in chase for survivors.

  • It should speed up every time a killer blinks/teleports/dashes back into range every 10 seconds waiting for a free slug & tunnel

You're complaining about people leaving before the match start instead of leaving mid-match?

You guys will never be happy for real.

By the way, THIS, case, isn't against the rule

It wasnt even really a complaint. More confused why someone would spend hours joining and backing out of lobbies. To restate, multiple friends have noticed the same player doing this and when I was able to visit his steam profile he had pages of comments from players saying the same thing. I simply asked what is the point of doing this?

Lobby dodging in general is a separate conversation but could easily be fixed by BHVR fixing matchmaking and notbackfilling matches with whatever poor baby Meg just purchased DBD.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

maybe they spot you on a recent players list for console?

Both of the players I'm referring to are on Steam and I am as well. I also had friends encounter them without me and dodge. I also managed to link to one of their Steam profiles before he left the lobby and he had pages of comments about dodging. I don't think its just a "me" thing.

Hm, i don't really know. I think her design is deeply flawed, but i was enjoying her anyways until that point. To be clear i do think it was a problem but i just feel like bhvr have left us with a killer that just isn't interesting

Well from the survivor perspective she wasn't interesting either. Her head form lunge has a horrible animation that doesn't match its hitbox at all. It always looks like you're getting hit from way farther than you should. It also has little to no indication that she's using it so you just die.

corn maps are prob the worst ones currently for survivor, especially if u play against top tier killers.

I would put them closely behind TWD map, Forgotten Ruins, Haddonfield for another week, and yea, that Eyrie map. With the 3 gen setups that can spawn on Boneyard, I really don't think there are any survivor sided maps left other than The Game and Badham.

  • @OrangeBear said:

I was very interested in playing her on PTB, i liked the idea of manipulating the mushroom economy to make survivors stay broken and vulnerable kinda like plague. She got buffed quite a bit for a live and became too overpowered. In the following hotfixes she got various nerfs and one of them completely killed any interactivity she had for me - leech is lost on being hooked.

It honestly doesn't feel like i am playing a game when i play as Krasue anymore. Infecting a survivor takes no skill and from there it's just a case of brute forcing loops with the head form. Survivors have counterplay and if they try to do it you have to always respond in the same way. She has a lot of fixed delays in her power, its really boring. A huge failure in design imo and continues the streak of unenjoyable original killers.

How would you keep the retaining infection on hook without massively incentivizing tunneling?

  • No. They just don't care, as shown by every bone thrown to survivors in the last year being immediately ripped back within 2 weeks.

  • Viciously murdering pixels is A-okay but dont you dare virtually walk back and forth on top of pixels!

Anyone having a problem with Myers should be also directing there attention to Oni as well while in Bloodfury mode he has extreme mobility when demon dashing and when attacking in demon dash he has no turncap restrictions so he has 360 degrees available to attack which is very oppressive while Myers has 160 degree turning restriction for slaughtering strike and he has no mobility options.

Furthermore Oni has faster recovery from demon dashing a pallet and can catch up to you faster cause he has demon dash while Myers gets heavily slowed from breaking a pallet for 5 seconds.

I'm just saying if we're advocating for Myers nerfs I expect the same for Oni.

I agree Oni should have a 90 degree cap. With how his power allows him to drift and mindgame, uncapped turn rate removes all agency for the survivor in chase.

That said, Oni does take more mechanical skill compared to current Myers just giga-lunging.

Also, on the rare occasion you manage to last long enough in chase vs an Oni that his power runs out, Oni gets a cooldown coming out of power, and then has to actually get a hit or two to recharge. Compare that to Myers having no cooldown and immediately just staring at you for 3 seconds and being back in T3.

  • Most egregiously bad rework since Billy. On demand undetectable, laughable stalk time to acquire power, braindead no turn restriction dashslop lunge with pallet shred and no cooldown, basekit mori. Maybe we should give reworks more than 3 days for players to practice before we demand every killer needs to be a make-a-wish character.

  • When the gens are so close to each other, the killer can patrol them faster than the 5 seconds it takes to stop the last regression event. This is the inevitable result of continually shrinking maps. Maps I've seen egregious examples of this recently include Eyrie, Rancid, TWD map, both Borgo maps, Dead Dawg.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I really feel she needs an update in general, she is the only old survivor who hasn't had a visual update yet.

Cybil and the other Legendaries could really use it too

Also please remove all the unnecessary damage and dirt on the outfits, it looks so ugly and it feels disrespectful to the characters lol

I don't mind the damage and dirt on outfits. OR as an alternative, outfits/skin textures could start the match mostly clean but as survivors take damage throughout the match, they should progressively get damaged/dirty/bloody. Oddly enough, BHVR tested this in a PTB years ago and then did nothing with it and never spoke of it again…

Cheryl could use a model update though. She, like Nancy, looked nothing like the source material.

    1. Survivors get new item for the first time in 10 years
    2. Killers complain about them immediately on every platform
    3. Item gets destroyed within 2 weeks and never revisited

i see what you mean but still those are kinda perks that have almost no skill compared to other perks while killers have to do a dirty work

Nowhere To Hide, Lethal, Pain Res, Grim, DMS require work to activate and get value? Or killer powers with AUTOAIM?

  • Demo is fine. Just because he doesn't get hand-held to 100 winstreaks like the recent designs doesn't mean he should be changed.

  • Killers currently counter them by complaining about them endlessly until they're nerfed to uselessness. Seems to be working well so far.

  • I should add original survivor head pieces and killer weapons from cosmetic sets not being able to mix/match. It was proven they worked just fine years ago when they were glitchable and outside of licensed content this restriction is stupid.

  • Teammates who fast vault the nearest object 3 seconds into a match.

    Yellow tape/paint at vault locations.

  • They should add actual snowballs in addition to the anti-snowball

  • The map is about 30-50% too small.

Youre practically guaranteed an egregious 3 gen spawning so you only need to focus on defending 1 or 2 houses.

All the house windows are death traps and only the basement gen house has pallets worth anything.

Main building side has no good pallet spawns.

    Basement stairs are easily blockable

Exit gates are usually easy to watch simultaneously.

The street has nothing to block LOS making proxy camping hooks very easy.

The street has zero windows and really the only somewhat useful windows on the entire map are the main building porch ones. However these dont lead to any useful pallets so you'll die after using them anyway.

Or they just don't get it. And by "it" I mean pretty much everything. The fact that this horribly designed anti-go next prevention feature is still a thing (that you can completely remove by simply having one particular offering in the lobby btw) is hilarious.

What you don't like losing a grade every time you get a hacking killer that downs and hooks you 3 seconds into the match?

The problem is not only Aura Read to be honest. It is also that screaming and especially Killer Instinct are omnipresent. And to me this shows that the Devs dont want Stealth to be a viable Playstyle because if you want be as stealthy as possible, you will waste A LOT of time. Like constantly running into areas where no Gens are to make sure the Killer does not chase you or being in Lockers for a substantial amount of time.

Like, every Ghoul plays at least Friends Till the End and many of them Surge as well. You would need to be in lockers constantly to not be found. Let alone that you never really know when someone will go down and when it will trigger Surge, so you either have to let go of the Gen whenever the Ghoul is nearby or you have to accept that Surge will trigger, make you scream and then Ghoul is on you. (Without any risk at all, since Anti-Slugging is cancelled)

On top of that, you only play one out of four Survivors. Even if I do everything to avoid being found, this would mean my teammates are the ones being chased. Not only is this kind of cowardish, but it does not really matter for the game who is out first and turns the game in an unwinnable 3v1.

But I dont know when and if they will change anything about Ghoul. The Devs seem to want to have an S-Tier Killer who is braindeadly easy. They also allow Nurse to exist, which is also not really hard to play once you learned her, so I doubt we will see Ghoul-Nerfs anytime soon, especially because they probably make a lot of money. Just imagine, whenever a new player gets destroyed by a Ghoul, they will probably buy the Tokyo Ghoul-Chapter if they want to play Killer, since they see how strong Ghoul is.

This seems so short sighted considering they have already lost most of the new players that came in with FNAF in just six months. They even stated the most common reasons players give when uninstalling (camping and tunneling).

So they know they have a player retention problem and they know the primary cause. Yet they panic and give up within 2 days of every attempt address the issues because of a few cringe streamers and their followers that might not be able to continue winning 100's of matches in a row.

They can make a short term influx of money by releasing broken killers like Ghoul and Krasue and not fixing glaring problems but its eroding their market for future content.

  • Its the combination of insane mobility and very strong to elite chase/anti-loop that makes these killers awful to play against.

You had more fun skipping three hooks and get insta killed. You're right that is sad. Bro you are the kinda player Bhvr should never listen to. Old tombstone was obnoxious as hell.

It added tension knowing if you really slipped up you were dead, but his chase would be weaker with the add ons slowing him down. It was one of the few remaining things in the game that felt somewhat like an actual horror experience. Undodgeable instadown abilities make me wish i could skip three hooks…

The point is the game is in a state where it highly favors killers after the last several years of survivor nerfs and NOW "It’s time for people to get better at the game instead of constantly calling for the other side to get nerfed".

Genuinely because I am bad at the game and dont know his counterplay. he is actually very strong too but idk if enough to merit nerfs this is just a biased take

Having spirit, pyramid head, and wesker powers plus a teleport that blocks windows. No that's not a biased take to any sane player. He has counters for every possible survivor defense/resource and when he gets outplayed catches up instantly. So stupid

unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about players, if they want to avoid gens they will, if they want to just go next they will, if they want to DC they will, if people want to ignore all the advice given to them regarding countering tunneling….they will.

personally, the tips i would suggest for solo players:

    1. work on stealth as primary mode of play, its all well and good being able to loop a killer for 3min but if no one is touching gens its pointless. Do gens yourself but do it stealthily so when the killer gives up looking for you, you can get back on the gen asap. you cant do gens yourself when your looping.
    2. Think of looping as secondary mode of play when the primary stealth mode fails. loop like there is no tomorrow and hope your team is doing gens or the killer gives up chase.
    3. dont jeopardize your escape to help a team mate, you dont have comms, you dont have perk synergy to help with the save and to escape. it doesnt matter if they are on 1st hook, if all gens are done, open the gate and get out.
    4. take a hatch offering, in many solo matches you can pretty much bet that there will be people that throw the match. When they do, prepare for hatch.

doing these things has boosted my escape rate to 60% without hatch offering, 70% with the offering.

Did they ever fix the stat pages counting abandons as escapes? I don't believe anyone's personal survivor savant claims as long as that's the case.

TCM had issues at the start regarding shoulder charge abuse and various different things but they were being worked on pretty well. Shoulder charge pretty got stopped, loops ended up being pretty minimal and no where near as effective as in dbd due to 3 killers. Even the loops were better, there was more of a route to take which was way more interesting than the dbd pallet/jungle gym system.

As for players making noise, thats in any game, even in dbd there are players that grief and intentionally blow gens, get the killers attention, and sabo the match. Thats nothing to do with the game or style or stealth or interactions….thats just toxic players which is seen in any game.

i have given an example of a game that made it work in an engaging way. TCM. i believe if they handled the dlc and the content better it would be doing very well by now because the gameplay was better for both sides. killers had a team, no real loops to deal with, there was no dash slop killers, they had actual unique powers. Survivors had comms, it felt more horror like, more tense. More ways to escape, way more fun the doing gens. i stopped playing dbd and only played that game until i maxed everything out shortly after i found out they are stopping updates. After that, i went back to dbd….not because its better or more fun but because its the only option. Im hopeful for the halloween game, literally all that needs to happen is a stealth game that handles other aspects well like content, cost, maybe a long term prestige system similar to dbd and players will flock to it. i know i would.

I don't know how you would call it a success when it was basically dead within a month. Look at that drop straight down on the player chart. When players lose interest that quickly, I don't see it as a DLC / content update issue. That's core design problems that just didn't retain players or spread positive word of mouth.

Some elements you mentioned like unique objectives and different escape methods were nice. The noise thing was literally every match. When the survivors start out hanging and are supposed to quietly wiggle out, everyone just spammed it as loudly as possible. Then most survivor matches were stumbling around in the basement for a few minutes until getting insta 2 tapped by someone playing the most min-maxed Bubba build. Pretty boring to me. And the single license nature of the game limits the possibilities for expansions.
