  • Honestly I used to buy every chapter but this game doesn't make me feel like I should spend anymore money on it. Rather just play killers I already have if I even play killer anymore.

Shame because I love alien, but I'm not sure how I feel about DBD anymore.

  • platform steam: 3 out of my 5 attempts to play today have been met with this error. Glad I am not alone.

  • Dont remember the last time I played and i seen it on survivor. even right now its on killer and its 11 am est. Not that long ago it would be a survivor bonus at this time but those days are seemingly over.

  • I agree, offerings should also be shared on the killer side of things.

  • yeah I seen this happen to a streamer right after I dropped into to say hello and thanks for saving me during the EGC. They said it had been happening to them alot over the past week. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Steam updated how family sharing works and made it so DLC doesn't get shared anymore. On one hand I find it sorta scummy, on the other hand people are getting very entitled over it.

Nah I have two steam accounts, one I buy games on and the other in which I play them on for more privacy. I do the same on playstation. This change screws me out of doing that, Im not being entitled in the slightest for wanting to access content I paid for.

Why do people complain about Coldwind being set during the day but not Ormond?

i complain about both? All maps should be set at night.

  • @bazarama said:

I play killer and very rare to wait longer than 1 minute. I think it's sometimes playing killer just isn't fun and more people play survivor.

But I can see a change to survivor queue times when alien comes around.

its exactly what it is, i used to main killer but I haven't played a single killer game for atleast a month now. Survivor sucks as well but atleast it can be fun. Killer is never fun.

  • Honestly the silent footsteps goes against accessibility for the visually impaired and should be reworked entirely. Any perk that removes grunts and sounds should be reworked. Look at SF6 and MK1 having literally noises to indicate how far and whether or not you and your opponent have switched sides.

The sound design needs accessibility reworks for those with visual impairments.

  • @Mandy said:

The simple answer is some addons can be reworked quicker than others without factoring programming time, QA time etc. Simple changes can be done by the Design team with little to no resources from other teams. Larger changes made to addons (or anything else), requires substantially more resources which need to be factored in and slot into the production calendar.

revert this change and then go nerf alc ring like the community has been begging for year. Seriously does a dev main blight or something is that the issue?

  • im just happy i can actually vault again without getting hit from outer space. Even as someone who predominately plays killer I knew that I was getting hits that I shouldn't have been getting. This fix needed to happen.

  • sure just remove every killer strat in the game. its not like I play killer anymore. BHVR has made playing killer extremely unfun with all the map reworks and increased clutter. Nothing like being in chase and getting stuck on the smallest little object you can't even see on the ground with the crap fov. The nerfing of nearly all regression perks. The existence of made for this. etc.

You better hope killer bots come soon because I don't see many of us stick around much longer if bhvr doesn't get their act together sooner than later.

Then you got some mod around here that has deleted some posts of mine that broke absolutely no guidelines and didn't receive any indication or warning. They were just gone. For no reason whatsoever.

think my time in the fog will be coming to an end and that is all on bhvr for not listening to the players and the community feedback.

I understood. Still not done on a gen or by players who know better.

They do know better. These players know exactly what they're doing. They do it because it is annoying.

  • @Evan_ said:

Not sure what's the issue with it. It usually means that someone is not doing a gen, or that I can go there whenever it's convenient to get my free hits or hooks.

It's the sound of doing well in my trial.

its not about the crows on an afk person. hes talking about when survivors repeatedly fast vault or hop in and out of lockers. its just a constant barrage of noise.

  • I get why you want slugging for the 4k nerfed. it is incredibly boring to have to deal with.

However tombstone doesn't need a nerf, you don't see it enough to be a problem and a lot of the times its actually pretty funny when you do come across it.

Singularity is boring to play but not hold games for 40 eons Merchant?

not everyone who plays skull merchant holds games indefinitely. I win games with her pretty quickly with out any gen defense. people just hate to hate. I've never played against a skull merchant who has done that.

the only time I've been held hostage by a 3 gen is against an infinite michael in garden of joy with a teammate who just hid in a corner. I love michael though and don't blame the killer because of a bad player. He was the worst because he left me slugged until a second before death and then would carry unless I wiggled off. I had to bait him into swinging while working on a gen to die. This was before they shortened the max game length too.

skull merchant is a better and more enjoyable killer to play than the knight. not better than larry tho he is goated.

Yeah, I think it's hurting now in ways that it didn't used to.

Five years ago, I myself (as a bisexual guy) would've been annoyed that sexual orientation gets discussed and over-represented to death in every major form of media, but it frankly just didn't feel as dangerous to be LGBT back then.

There's been such a visible increase in homophobia in society (American society in particular) and homophobic violence in general that, yeah, it suddenly feels important.

If the idea of someone having a different sexual orientation to you bothers you, you're part of the problem.

Because that's what you're getting at, right? You don't care about sexual orientation. You (and the people who upvoted your post) just don't want to hear about gay people. Come right out and say it. Am I wrong?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469695#Comment_3469695

It would just be awkward if BHVR suddenly released a huge list detailing every character's sexual orientation, but I do think there's room for more visibility.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469572#Comment_3469572

Nea is bisexual and you cannot change mine.

Also, I honestly hated Renato with a passion for some reason (probably his goofy clothes and disgustingly upbeat menu theme) until I got his rift cosmetics, but now I kinda hope he's not straight.

Why though? If he's determined to be hetero gay or bi what difference does it make? Nothing fundamentally changes about who he is. He isn't real, and most importantly sexuality doesn't define who he is, or who he will be. It doesn't determine if he will be brave or a coward. It doesn't determine if he will be the most successful kite flyer ever. it changes absolutely nothing about him.

Nothing changes. Sexuality doesn't define who people are and shouldn't play a single factor in character design. Why not just leave it as a blank slate and just give everyone cosmetics that support pride in some way?

Everyone wants someone they can relate too and if its a blank slate you can choose who you relate too most based on who the character is. Not by sexuality, but by their actions, where they come from and what they've done.

Having said that, anyone else hope we one day could get some rocky horror picture show cosmetics?

Good sentiment I agree, now can you tell that to people actively harming others in real life for their identity or does it only matter when people ask for LGBT content in video games?

Shockingly enough LGBT people didn't decide that their identity is a big deal, everyone else did and is continuing to do so.

I do actively tell people that in real life. I am constantly at odds with my hyper religious family over it. I don't stand by and watch hateful spiteful bullies do their thing, I never have and never will. I've watched my own relatives kick out and disown their own child for being gay. In turn I took responsibility for their child.

That is how I know there is more to people than sexual identity. My cousin is an artist, he is an incredibly smart individual with a passion for learning and an athlete all traits that should mean more than the fact that he is gay. That doesn't matter today though because we made sexuality into a bigger deal than it ever had any right to be.

  • I don't think sexual identity should be known for any survivors. Not a single survivor should be labeled at all. People need to get over the incessant need to label everything. Sexual identity doesn't matter. I don't know how we got to this point in society where it matters so much. It genuinely adds nothing of actual value to any character.

People need to stop obsessing over fictional characters and their sexuality. There is more to people than who they're intimate with and honestly that isn't any ones business. Especially in a game like Dead by Daylight where it has absolutely no meaning at all, characters have no growth or story arcs.

Honestly, whether you're gay, lesbian, bi, trans, hetero, etc. It doesn't matter. That part of you is the least interesting part of who you are. We need to start acting like it. We're all more than that. We are all worth more than that.

  • yeah we're not getting the charms this time around, maybe one of the two but not both. I think a lot of people are turned off from the tome this time around do to how they've screwed up it is this time. You would think they would've atleast let everyone know about the text being wrong for encore! but no.

  • pain res should be reverted to how it originally was and have a cooldown added instead of tokens. No back to back pain res but your not limited to 4 times per match.

  • I was grabbed off a gen AFTER i stopped repairing it for atleast 1 second. Something is wrong, I seen the myers there I stopped repairing waiting for a hit only to be grabbed anyway.

hit validation is off, aim dressing is also absolutely grotesque right now so much so that playing killer isn't worth it to me. I've been vortexed into hitting a wall when I had a direct hit running in a straight line because of the busted aim dressing that shouldn't even be a thing.

  • @LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3469893#Comment_3469893

Pain Res is not a well-designed perk. Not only are you at the mercy of scourge hook RNG, but the amount of times that a generator will finish a second or two before you get your pain res is staggering. You're stuck wasting a token getting barely anything for it unless you drop the survivor because there's usually not enough time to get to another hook unless you have an Agi/Iron Grasp setup

pain res needs a revert back to infinite uses. what they should've done instead of making it token based is add a cooldown so you can trade hook double pain res in a short period.

a cooldown would've made pain res still viable but not as powerful compared to the absolute joke it is now.

Maybe MFT is not as overpowered as people think it is?

as a MFT enjoyer you're wrong.

  • There needs to be a ping limit of 120ms. I'm tired of having games with people that have a consistent 120ms+ and 200ms with spikes. Atleast for north american servers anyway.

  • Ive seen a few killers today and yesterday who started a game got an invitation and then went afk. Maybe its time to make the requirements harder for killer.

  • Sure thing as soon as they start punishing survivors who let their teammates die on the first hook.

  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R CoP

    survivor - Strelok

    killer - Controller or Bloodsucker

I don't think this game could work as a dbd chapter though.

  • its not as widespread as people would have you believe. I'm pretty much a survivor main these days. yesterday I got tunneled out a bit. For the most part we get the gens done and the killer has only had time to hook 1 survivor.

honestly it is a worse time playing killer right now than it is to play survivor. I've played less than 10 killer games in the last week and if it wasn't for this event I wouldn't have played a single killer game.

I guess I am not a killer main anymore, at least for now... my 12 hook no tunnel no camp play style just isn't feasible anymore so I don't want to play a role where I have to feel bad for winning because I made everyone else miserable.

  • I dont typically farm, but during events I will. I know what its like on the survivor side of things so I rather be a change of pace and joy during a time right now. I will play normally until I two hook everyone then I chill let everyone out so they can get their masks. I've never had any negative feedback from doing this.

Events can be frustrating, I've been hard tunneled out of several games today. Would be refreshing to get a killer who farms.

You are using a full gen rush build, not just Scavenger. you are not even using an exhaustion perk. This are the type of build people use while testing because in a normal game they will get you killed in no time.

And for the time you are presenting, you must have never even seen the killer in all 3:15min it took you to do the gens. that is even if those gens were actually repaired entirely by you and you didnt receive any help.

I don't rely on exhaustion perks and make it out of most games. I used dead hard maybe one time in my entire time playing this game. You don't need exhaustion perks to loop or escape chases.

I gen rush because I have too in solo q. I find most games, not only am I doing the most gens but I am also the only one getting saves while 2 other team mates are off doing who knows what in the corner.

This build will help me more on live than you possibly could know. If I drop bond for the new dejavu, skull merchants will be kicking rocks.

  • @Rovend said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3445231#Comment_3445231

How do you even know that? It's extremely difficult to know how much time you could do x gens with this perk because of the unreliable rng skill checks, plus all the killer interactions.

And knowing how random this skill checks appear and the setback of the 30sec of 50%repair i can only assume you may have made one refill at most in that time.

So the 3 gens in 2:45 min must have been made using other gen perks rather than Scavenger itself

street wise, hyperfocus, scavenger, bond, could've been faster if I paired it with the new busted de ja vu.

I used a stop watch when I got the 2:44.8. Just add the 30 seconds your not on a gen to that and you get 3:15. it was actually less than that time I just fumbled the time stop.

  • with just the original perk you could do 3 gens in 2 minutes and 45 seconds. them adding the reduced repair speed means at the very least it will now take 3 minutes and 15 seconds to complete 3 gens. The perk is still strong, maybe even stronger. Think about it, with it being infinite recharges that is a really good anti 3 gen perk.

  • @Nebula said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3445143#Comment_3445143

This would require that one player to hit 15-20 great skill checks during the game? This is highly, highly unlikely rng wise for something that's not even efficient.

well if your working on a gen longer because you're speeds been reduced you will get more chances at skill checks. I don't have a problem with greats, I run hyperfocus without stake out. I assume most players over 1k hours are like that?

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3444854#Comment_3444854

That's even worse because now your aren't on a gen at all and then the killer may not even be chasing you so it's pretty much eat the repair debuff and try to move through it or don't do anything for half a minute, it's a dead on arrival perk it didn't need any changes because built to last was already stronger than the perk before they nerfed it into the ground

A swf can have 1 person bring this perk and everyone can drain their tool boxes and just have 1 player constantly replenish them. The 50% reduction speed helps this out because they will just keep getting more skill checks. Replenish tool box, give to team mate rinse and repeat.

That person doesn't need to worry about their gen progress when they can just keep replenishing over and over until the games won. This perk is both trash and busted at the same time. For solos this perk is worthless. For swf? rip gens.

  • Wow this change is dumb as hell. This just goes to show bhvr has no idea what they're doing and have no business designing perks anymore. This game is already borderline unplayable do to gen rushing, and this change didnt help matters at all.

Wake up bhvr before its too late. August can't come soon enough.

  • nah, its a rare enough nice interaction between survivors and me that I enjoy it. It's also a good indication of how the match is going to go. Typically players who want to boop the snoot are just looking to have fun and don't take the game seriously.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

I had a game as a survivor and I found an anniversary flashlight laying on the ground. I picked it up, played the match for several minutes, and then meg found me. She continued to taunt me over and over. I genuinely didn't know what they were doing but they started body blocking me, refusing to do gens, alerted the killer towards me, which then I realized it was her flashlight. On the one hand I can understand wanting a nice item but when you go so far to throw a game and actively try to kill a teammate I'm going to refuse to give the item back. I was also less motivated to give the item since the killer had Franklin's demise. I ended up hiding the item near the exit and let meg bleed out after I unhooked her once and picked her up once despite her sabotaging me and our team. I did survive with the flashlight. Did I take this too far? Did she take it too far?

if this was one of those "am i the blank" reddit posts, the answer is yes you're the "blank" in this scenario. You caused all the issues, had you just returned the flashlight you could've made a friend out of it.

  • I wish i had a screenshot of a endgame chat I had earlier where a killer who had hit me on hook repeatedly told me that they thought it would make me die quicker. How I got matched with such an obvious baby I will never know. I couldn't help but start laughing about it after they had told me that.

I play killer with gusto, but the fear of losing pip makes me camp and tunnel.

On the survivor's side, this is not the way we want it.

Please don't let the killer lose pips due to a negative rating in the assessment!

    Please consider this!

camping is more likely to cause you to lose a pip as being close to a hooked survivor makes you lose points. If you want pips do not camp at all even for a second.

  • i want twisty for clown right now.

There are times when hook suiciding is the smart thing to do.

If there's only one person left and there's still generators to do, you're probably better off not endangering the other survivor more than you need to, because chances are only one of you is getting out at best.

    @Ithiria said:

Given that you instantly die when you fail two, I think hook suicides is intended and unlikely to go.

most of the time if you're in that situation killers will have left you slugged.

Wouldn't it be better to just have a button to let go than to constantly make the player who wants to stay in the game push it over and over? It isn't like this mini game kills anyone who has more than 20 hours of game time, so why keep this relic?

  • @Emeal said:

Skill checks is a chance to alert the Killer.

I don't think we can remove it.

You dont get alerts if someone fails a skill check while on the hook. Only way you know is if your face camping. So yeah we can get rid of it. It serves no actual purpose. The only people failing skill checks are new players and people wanting out of the game.

  • probably killed himself on his first hook. Also was probably the first downed.

    1. No
    2. 3 minimum, maybe even maximum if she got other buffs to compensate.
    3. 44m is way too big.

I play skull merchant sometimes, shes fun when played in an anti loop manner. I've never used her to hold a 3 gen indefinitely.

if you were to increase the range of her drones with the current way generator placement works you could potentially be able to hold 4 generators with 2 drones.

I've already had situations where I've been able to hold 2 generators with 1 drone. Gen placement in this game is busted and Skull merchant can not only 3 gens due to this but she can hold 4 gens thanks to rng.

I don't think you can change much about her with out making her even weaker than she is now, or making her even more oppressive. She should be buffed but only after bhvr gets off their keisters and address generator placements.

  • Remove the dc penalty? gross. Quit dcing in your games and you wont face a penalty. Bots replacing dc survivors is going to ruin this game.

I really wish bhvr wouldn't make this change. I don't want to play with or against bots, I queue up to play with or against humans.

If you can't handle the game then don't queue up. Stop ruining the game for everyone else. We all get tunneled, we all get face camped, we all get bm'd, gen rushed, we all have bad games etc etc.

I think we need harsher DC penalties. First offense should be 5 minutes. Yes I know it would suck for people who's game crashes or they lose their internet. You can blame the rage quitters though as it is entirely their fault we actually need stricter penalties in the first place.

  • one of the issues with haste perks is because subtle cheaters use them to mask their speedhacking. its why MFT shouldn't go live without a duration.

Riddle me this. Why is the bloodpoint bonus for match balance almost always on survivor? The answer is there is a greater need for players in the survivor role than there are in killer. Playing as a survivor is a miserable experience. I'm shocked anyone likes it.

except in my experience anytime I check its always on killer. It doesn't matter the time of day anymore. It used to be survivor bonus in the day and killer at night. But as I said its almost exclusively killer besides around dinner time.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
