Then take the L and move on. The same can be said for killers going for a 4k, except the fact they had to kill 3 other people to get to that point (2 if 2 survivors are waiting for each other to die) and even then a lot of them would still rather just let one go than waste all that time in a boring hide and seek match. Hatch concessions are 50% wanting to let people go, 50% not being as committed to holding the other side hostage in response to them holding you hostage. The hatch doesn't even count as a win for a reason, its a draw, a participation trophy.
People overvalue surviving through hatch just as much as they overvalue getting a 4k vs a 3k. You're all boring and you're made for each other.
you misunderstood, in the situation I explained I couldn't take the L, I certainly would've prefered it but the killer refused to kill me. When I got close to bleeding out completely he carried me around, it was a 3 gen situation and he was an infinite myers. If I worked on a gen he would just grab me off and carry me again.
In that game I was unable to die, my partner was just sneaking across the map and the killer refused to even look for him. All he did was patrol the 3 gen. After over 20 minutes i was able to trick the killer into stabbing me instead of grabbing me off a gen and I finally died. This game needs a max time limit.

It’s the survivors’ fault for getting 3-genned in the first place though. They should be doing gens. If the killer and other survivor is doing what you said, that’s reportable anyways. A hard time limit on the match would be good though. If it runs out, everyone dies and the game ends. Eg, 30m.
I can't control what gen's my team does in soloq, soloq is a mess right now. 30 minutes is too long, 15 should be the max.

Hatch escape should be impossible if more than one person is alive.
Well i'm tired of games that should've already ended going on 10-20 minutes longer because 1 survivor wants the hatch and the killer wants a 4k. I'm guessing you haven't been in a 3 gen scenario where the killer can just prevent gens from getting completed at all, will not let you bleed out and will just carry you around unless you wiggle out down right refusing to let you die or hook you, together with your last remaining team member both holding you hostage.
while I understand that isn't very often it shouldn't happen at all.
-
Nah, maybe the hatch should spawn at 2 but it doesn't open without a key until 1 survivor remains. IDK but 2 man end game is ruining the game. Most of the time the person im left with doesn't want to fight to the finish they rather just wait until i die, which i do because instead of hiding i'm doing gens. Maybe give crows to people who aren't interacting with things. Something needs to change though.
-
yeah if i see people teabag the killer i leave them to die regardless of how altruistic they were to me. Also tea bagging is the only reason i will ever tunnel someone out of the game. teabagging and other bm's are unnecessary.

if only there was a way to down vote a post. Yuck.

I love the game and I think that its in a better state then it has ever been before, if you dont count the crazy first years.
But now that rank and grades are no longer used for match making, de-pipping serves no purpose. On one hand people say "grade is no skill indicator anymore, its monitors how much you played that month", while on the other hand they say "removing the de-pipping would take away all excitement and skill requirement, giving free BP to everyone".
So what do you want? Do you want the grades to reflect skill? But right now we can't flex with our awesome Iri1 grades, because its hidden from everyone besides friends in SWFs lobbies. Or do you want to make it a reward for loyal players who came back time and time again to play your game? You can't have the Escape cake AND eat it, so please make up your mind.
I would prefer that it was, indeed, a reward. So please, please, PLEASE take away de-pipping. Its a relic of the old ranks system and serves no purpose besides being extremely frustrating and unfun at times.
Everyone knows the pain of being in gold or iri, 4 pips, and then a series of unforseen events sends you tumbling down to 1 or even zero pips. As a killer it is pretty hard in the Iri region to pip at all and a good SWF group can easily make you de-pip just by denying you any success. But as survivors its even worse: you could be camped as the first survivor being found in that trial with no chance at all. Or somewhat even more frustrating: earlier this day I had a game with an afk killer. I did my gens, I cleansed a totem, open a chest .. and still de-piped. Well, thanks for that one, no I am back to start.
I am a killer main, and I love to give survivors who played well the hatch or relax the tension a bit after two survivors died and the last two sorta "give up", by memeing with them. But when I am in the Iri grades and get like 3 pips, I just can't effort that. In a game plagued with toxicity and players feeling hopeless after getting stomped, the de-pipping system does nothing to help the situation, but actually increases the problems. When I am just one or two pips from grading up I frankly don't give hatch, I don`t relax my playstyle and I play as sweaty as it gets. Its actually a real relieve when I finally hit Iri1 with killer, usually a week before grade reset and I finally can play the game the way I like and not play "balls to the walls" every single time. I am definitely not the only one who thinks so and it would be way more healthy for the game to just count your good games until you reach Iri 1 and don't bother with the bad ones, besides DCs. DCs are the only valid reasons IMHO that warrant to take a pip away.
And now a dirty, little secret at the end: some people have suggested a method that works pretty well if you struggle with pipping up in the Iri grades, and I tried it out for the first time this month. You go for two hook and don't kill anyone, not even the dirty SWF bullies who really try to get under your skin. Let everyone escape scot free, 8 hooks being the max you go for. Do so till you drop in MMR deep enough that you notice that the baby survivors around you are too afraid of you, dont do gens and dont go for saves. When peple start dying on first hook, even though you are at the other side of the map, shift gears, play as sweaty as possible, dont show mercy and just burst through 2 grades in 5 games by getting a mercyless rating every game. Just dont kill them too fast and shoot for 12 hooks.
Is this a playstyle that you want to promote? Smurfing is nothing new and some people do it regularly. I didn't enjoy doing it, as it probably ruined the experience of the 6 games or so that I utterly stomped, but I am adapting. So please, dont force people to adapt this way. I would hit Iri 1 naturally each month by playing in my MMR bracket, just by the occasional stelar game that garners me a pip, IF de-pipping wasnt a thing
100% this is how i feel.

sounds to me you're salty someone ratted you out to a killer after you were hiding and not doing any gens. How about stop using meme escape builds and help your team escape.

Did they have the Awakened Awareness perk? Some killers are using it like radar when there's two survivors. Helps them see the auras of other survivors within 20m.
no he did not.
-
What happened to me just now was ridiculous. The killer wouldn't let me bleed out, wouldn't let me finish a gen to escape because my other teammate was hiding and they couldnt find them. Instead they just carried me unless i wiggled out. it didn't matter that I had enough and kept pointing to the hook. This went on for at least 20 minutes or so.
With the dc penalty I didn't want to leave( dc penalty shouldn't be removed), I had no way to leave the game without being punished, I was forced to stay in the game because the killer wouldn't let me die and my teammate wanted the hatch and just walked circles around the map evading the killer.
How are we as players supposed to deal with this? When we can't forcefully eject ourselves from the game because the killer refuses to let us bleed out or hook us, Won't let you complete a gen so you can escape ( we were 3 genned so it was easy for him to patrol)
I feel like the game itself needs a max time limit, or the hatch needs to be completely removed. I'm tired of this crap, so many times since the update i've been in scenarios like this and it just isn't fun.
Fellow survivors stop playing selfishly like this, fight to the damn finish. You're just as much to blame for my damn suffering in this case. Please fix the game bhvr add a max time limit or remove the hatch. Do something because a game that shouldn't go on 20 minutes because of selfish players.

i played a match yesterday where a adam had 600 ping and was all over the place, it was not particularly fun at all. I have noticed a dramatic increase, pre-update i was getting games with people 40-80 now most of my games yesterday was over 100.

I don't think they'll ever institute a "buy all" button (though it would be nice), but a good compromise might be if you pick a node you want at the edge of the web, it will automatically but all the nodes in between, along the clearest path. So at least let you buy chunks at a time and still leave some of the current you vs. the entity chess game.
this is a great idea, another thing i think would be nice is if they removed the hold part and just let you click once to buy.

It's honestly only problematic on high mobility killers like nurse and blight but they're problematic as basekit without any perks or addons to begin with.
I don't really understand it's value because I can always find survivors at the start of the match. Literally just look towards the gens farthest from you at the start and head towards them. voila, survivors located lol
right just run discordance, with prove thy self you get so much value. way more valuable imo than lp.

Nobody is using because its a trash perk
nah i use it because it isn't that bad. It does need a range boost though.
-
I used it on midwhich above the bathrooms today, was kind of cool. The range needs to be improved. I'd boost it to at least 8m. At 6 there is no way you're not eating a chainsaw from a bubba.

Friend, we're gonna need some more constructive feedback than that if you want any chance of it being addressed. Eat less toenails is not enough to go on.
please fix jill's re1 costume, her hair just looks weird under her beret. it is extremely off putting. I love that costume but I just can't buy it in it's current state. Her hair should not cover her left eye at all. The motion her hair makes just rotating her looks bad. Delete a few strands or something. Please I want to give you my money.
-
they should atleast boost the range a bit 6m is kind of bad.

nemy needs a rework, hes cooler in resident evil but wesker is cooler in dbd

People don't understand that Reassurance could have easily been abused. Not only against camping killers, but also against survivors on the hook to keep them there. The devs recognized the danger and did the right thing. And like you said: This perk is much better now in terms of design.
people do understand this, what you seem to not understand is the fact that all bhvr needed to do was add a way for the hooked survivor to opt out and it would've been fine. but you keep glossing over that and just going hurr durr its abuseable.
-
i want too but they nerfed reassurance better than new and awakened awareness. For the most part buying new characters is all for the perks and they have approached all these nerfs in the absolute wrong way.
Reassurance just needed an opt out.
Awakened Awareness was fine but its easier to nerf that than fix the nurse which the entire community besides nurse mains want.
Better than new needs to have repair speed added back in.
-
yeah this requires a fix, and its not the only map with issues like this. Haddonfield has some really dark spots and so does RPD but maybe RPD will be resolved with the rework.
-
While op isn't exactly incorrect. if you teabag me i'm going to tunnel you. 100% that is the only reason i tunnel. Most games I actually try to be nice and let survivors escape because the game has become so damn easy for killer its boring.
Having said that, when I play survivor i get tunneled frequently enough and I never teabag, flashlight click or anything considered "toxic". Not all killers are the same just like not all survivors are the same.
-
saddens me to no end to see people support the mindset of it being okay to let your teammate die so you can survive. in all honesty the hatch needs to go. Games that should end at that point now take 5-10 minutes longer because it becomes 2 survivors hiding. As a killer this sucks. As a survivor this sucks.
I've started to resort to just letting the killer kill me when its down to 2 but then in most cases they leave me slugged on the ground while they hunt for you. So i can't even let my self die and move on. Why? because we have selfish players wanting the hatch and hiding for it.
-
i agree, revert the changes to reassurance and make it so the survivor on hook can press their ability button to cancel the effect. boom the problem is addressed.
-
all they needed to do was make an option for the survivor to opt out of reassurance but nah instead they nerfed it.

Shocked but unsurprised that BHVR has once again decided to cave in after survivor mains cried that they couldn't get an ez unhook for free. In my MMR bracket I have no option but to stand in front of you hitting you on the hook, chasing you when you get unhooked, getting bodyblocked by your teammates, and then DCing when I forget where you went. Otherwise I would simply lose.
Nah just kidding it's a nice change, get absolutely ######### basement hags
let me know how that goes for you when reassurance becomes a thing.
*edit to early for me just noticed you said you were kidding lol.
-
Matchmaking and MMR being busted tbh, it's so bad now that you get paired with anyone. Half my games have people hiding in corners of the map or in lockers not doing anything. Then you look at their profile and they're brand new.
Then there is this new selfish attitude players have where they just leave you on the hook at 5 gens even when you have kinship and the killer isn't even camping. They've even started posting builds here. You can save them and everyone else on your team, then when you get hooked GG for you.
It is a sad state of affairs right now, and its the players responsible for the misery. whether its killers slugging( this is more annoying than being tunneled, atleast if I'm tunneled im in the next match and not laying on the ground for 5 minutes so they can get a 4k) or survivors just being selfish and/or not doing anything it has become a nightmare to play this game.
Playing killer side has become so easy I don't even find any joy in it anymore. Atleast half my games i just 2 hook everyone and let them do their gens and leave. I have had maybe 2 or 3 games where the survivors just demolished me since the update and I honestly wish i was getting destroyed again.
