Look, i'll be one of the first to agree that tunneling is bad for the game. But you need to stop blaming the players for using the strategy and start blaming the devs.
Blaming the player is completely ridiculous and just leads to more us vs them mentality.
THIS!!
Tunneling is a game design issue, not a specific players problem. People don't like to hear but forcing a 3v1 situation is needed in most matches against the best players, specially if you are on a low level killer. I'm completely against hard tunneling but some forms of "soft" tunneling are needed if you want to win.
Devs should really look into this issue considering how they can make everyone have a good time within DBD without making the anti-tunnel features exploitable in high level.
-
I just wish they let survivors drop galloon when they received damage. Its the best way to farm points as killer but this only happens when a survivor decides to drop the galloon or dies. 😢
-
I just wish they changed that survivor drops blood gallons when they take damage. Gallons is the best way for a killer to get points but it depends on a survivor dropping on the ground so you can step on it.

(Edit for clarification: StB = Shoulder the Burden)
This perk, if used correctly, can shatter a large part of the pressure Killers put on Survivors by taking away a quick road to a kill. Since hooking… doesn't do very much, turning a 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 into a 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 can be absolutely devastating.
Do you guys see this perk often? Feel any change when someone triggers it?
Probably because its a perk that gives value mostly to good and coordinated teams. To me, its the strongest perk in the game right now, but it requires a very solid team. You can "force" the killer to commit the same person twice and then save with StB.
I've run into some survivors doing winstreaks and almost all of them use StB.

You can get a 15 minute penalty for DCing 3 times. Then it's necessary to play 20 games without disconnecting to remove one penalty point (at least that's how I understand it to work). The penalty doesn't decay with time spent away from the game, either. If I understand the system correctly, you could DC only 5 times in 100 games and still rack up a big penalty for it. So yeah, the system seems pretty harsh to me, especially for a game with the worst MMR system and balancing in the business. With all the frustrations and annoyances present in DBD, it's amazing to me how few DCs there actually are in practice.
But you are right, some people would be better off not playing this game. After the Survivor games I had yesterday, I should probably be one of them. I don't think BHVR are interested in making the role more enjoyable to average/casual Survivors any time soon. Plenty of things make SoloQ painful to play but a teammate who chooses to DC is not one of them to me (the bots are often a marked improvement over my lobbies, tbh. Heck, if I'm honest with myself the bots are also better at DBD than I am).
Ditto for my Killer games, the game at least still continues on with a bot. It's way better than having someone who completely ruins the game by not participating at all instead of refusing to do the decent thing and DCing.
95% of my frustrations as survivor comes from random teammates in SoloQ. That's why i try to play with friends, to lessen the frustation. When play solo, i see survivors throwing/DC'ing even when we have a real chance to win and that's really makes me not want to play the game anymore.
I was just really pissed off against killers when going against 2024 billy post rework and with Ghoul during Bloodmoon. Aside from this, i rarely have issues, even when tunneling/slugging is at play.
About playing killers, I hate when i'm playing and someone DCs because it turns into a 3v1. Bot ai is very exploitable -as it should be, bot shouldn't be better than normal players - and then i need just to play it worse and forget about the bot while i let it do gens or turn the match into a real 3v1 ASAP, which is boring for both sides. DC's destroys everyone's games.
I understand that the "casual/average" survivor is having a hard time, but this also extends for killers too. Casual players tend to be stomped in online PvP games after the game gets old - and DBD is reaching the 10 year mark. If you play a fighting game online you will probably get someone so cracked that you can barely land a hit before the match ends. Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur, Tekken, etc etc. I remember some friends of mine complaining about Mario Kart online, where some players were so experienced that they could barely see them in the track. This happens in every game that has some time in the market.
The only salvation i can see for casual players is better and more stricter MMR, dividing the experienced and the newcomers, preventing them from going against each other. Otherwise the imbalance

I can't have favorable maps and bad players every match, nor can I be low MMR if I consistently win, since it would logically go up. Gen regress is so common now that survivors don't even expect my aura, anti-sabo, and/or undetectable builds.
And sure, I get potatoes. I also get great teams. I feel like everybody gets a random mixture because proper matchmaking is indeed nonexistent.
But there are more bad survivors and killers playing than there are good survivors and players. People can maintain very high killrates with weaker killers if they are experienced and they adversaries don't but the moment they get someone half good the scenario change. Most of my game with the Knight was during the old MFT era and i still had some high killrate, which doesn't mean Knight was strong or MFT was fair, it was just that people were so bad that even with a advantage they would still fall. As Sadako, Pig and Legion have very high killrates and they are considered by the majority of the community very weak killers.
Recently i was playing Dredge just for fun and having a plenty of good matches, most of them ending in 4k (many of those matches because people don't understand Dredge's power and how nightfall works). Then i went against a comp team of my region i couldn't make 3 hooks the whole match. If i was playing Dracula i probably could keep up with them, as i did in other times.
I REALLY would like to watch some of your matches, since you say you have a very easy time playing killer in the most survivor friendly way.
I understand saying survivor has issues - although we can disagree what are those issues - but saying killer has no issues currently is absurd, specially when we consider the big difference in power between the lower and the higher tier of killers in this game.
About the topic, Fast Track should get stacks differently. It punishes the killer for progressing the game and can generate a immense value for almost nothing, specially if the whole team is stacked.

It's ridiculous seeing nothing being done about them after how many years? There are so many killers who deserve a list of buffs namely Ghostface, Trapper and Skull Merchant. There are more killers out there who also need buffs but right now, these 3 aformentioned killers are top priority.
Why do they remain as they are? It shouldn't take ages for you to make drastic improvements to their power. These killers need HELP!
What's worse is that nobody seem to care or at all despite the majority of survivors wanting killer variety? Then this should be the step to the right direction except we remain in a still stand of bringing this discussion to the devs because they refuse to do anything about it or give no answer. It feels negligent.
There is still hope. They've said they will do balance changes during this year based on the survey they've sent earlier this year. Hope they don't nerf the wrong killers and change things that doesn't need change.

I started playing DBD in March of 2025 I believe, and have sunk almost 900 hours into the game, now every time I play it, all I feel is anxious, tired, and completely over it at the same time. I really enjoyed it for a while, but lately it's just been exhausting. Wins don't feel rewarding anymore, and when I do want to win, I have to resort to tunnelling and slugging really hard, otherwise 9/10 times, the survivors absolutely destroy me.
I don't like playing this way. I just want to be able to relax and have fun when I play the game. However, when I decide I want to relax and play fair, I end up losing miserably almost every single time. It feels like playing anything other than high mobility killers now is just an instant loss, which really sucks since I love to play The Artist, yet she's so so weak in the current meta.
On top of all this I was really excited for the new Trickster update, but as a killer main who dares to play anything other than Nurse or Blight; the new map is completely insufferable. It really sets the tone for what kind of game BHVR envisions DBD to become, and I don't agree with it one bit.
I was originally going to stick around until the Grimoire chapter came out as the prototype the devs released for the new killer seemed pretty interesting, but this game has been eating away at my mental health and I just can't for now.
Maybe I'll come back at some point, but for now, I'm staying far away from this game. I just hate the direction this game is going in. Bigger maps, more cosmetics, more licenses… It just seems like the devs care more about making a buck than they do making a legitimately fun for all, balanced, functioning game and addressing the plethora of bugs and problems that continue to plague this game, and I can't support that anymore right now.
I know I'm not really anyone important to this community, and I doubt anyone is going to care that I've stopped playing this game, but I figured I'd come here and share why anyways.
I would suggest not quitting forever, but doing regular breaks. Its the best way to enjoy this game. I always give a 3 weeks ~ 1month+ break between updates and events so i don't get burnt out from the game. It was the best way i've found to enjoy the game.
I would suggest playing survivor with friends on Bloodmoon (you can find them in DBD discord or regional discords with DBD players) so you can at least enjoy the event and the BP bonus it gives.

I dont have a good time when the killer just gives up because i looped him too hard.
I dont have a good time when the killer just gives up because they dont like the map.
my whole point is its a both side issue and if you want to punish one side you need to also punish the other which I doubt people advocating for harsher dc and bans would want to do to killers. But i ALSO WANT killers to be punished if they decide to quit. I don't think anyone should have a "FREE DC" pass because they destroy the match of 4 other people. I believe most of us who ask for harsher penalties want this for both sides. I also play survivor and have seen killers quitting for many reasons and i don't endorse this. If you lose, you lose. Patience
Got looped too hard? Patience. Learn something from the match. Lost too many gens on the first chase? Try running Corrupt Intervention - although there is some cases where the isn't much you can do. Killers, as survivors, should play the match they logged in for.
Killer and survivors shouldn't have permission to DC and ruin everyone's game just because they feel like it.
-
@tjt85 said:
I think BHVR need to look again at DC penalties, tbh. I don't know why this game has the same harsh penalties as a serious e-sports title. DBD is not a game with ranks to protect that anybody actually cares about.
Matches are also typically very short, unlike a lot of other PVP games. I'd understand there being harsher penalties if the games lasted a long time and went multiple rounds with the same players, but they don't. And since BHVR are not doing anything about the things that frustrate players (like tunnelling/slugging/MMR mismatches), I don't think we need to add insult to injury by putting players who are not having a good time on the naughty step. Especially not since the go next update removed all the informal ways to tap out of an obviously hopeless match by removing the ability to attempt to self unhook on first hook.
It's true that Killers often have bad mismatches too, but at least they can go hide out in the basement and the game will be over and done in 5 minutes. If they DC, the game just ends. But Survivors often have to play out these terrible games and hope the Killer is generous enough to allow the hatch to spawn.
DC penalites should never exceed the average time of a Trial (say 15 minutes) and it should take longer to reach the maximum penalty.
DBD penalties aren't harsh, unless you are quitting EVERY GAME. I had a very bad internet issue some months ago and didn't reached the 10 minute penalty even with many DCs. If someone is struggling with penalties, they aren't playing the game properly and just quitting every match. I don't think this kind of behavior should have any kind of complacency or approval.
Also, people always think on survivor when they talk about DC penalties removed, but are those same people prepared for killers disconecting if they don't get the map they want or if 2 or 3 gens get done in the first chase? Dcing after getting a pallet stun/flash save they didn't think they deserve? Dc'ing after missing a power? we won't have matches if games goes like this.
This game is already hell with the current DC penalties, making it less punishing will just make playing worse, specially for SoloQ.

Yes, this is what i keep saying. The solution to this problem is to stop cultivating a community that says "memememe" and start banning people harshly for ruining games. Literally every other online multiplayer game does this right now. Why can't DBD?
I agree. BHVR really needs to push those who don't like DBD but still play the game out (at least for a while).
Like, if you are not in mood for a match, why try playing? Why join a lobby, go into a match and then DC the instant thing go out of your way? We don't need these types of players. They can complete a lobby but they can't play, so its a play who just wastes everyone time.
I'm always do breaks so i'm not that stressed when i play the game. Some people should do it too. -

A high usage rate doesn't always idicate a strong perk. So many survivors use WoO but it's not extremely good or anything like that.
I expect fast track to go down in usage rate a bit as well.
I agree. I just meant that many don't complained about Resurgence because it wasn't a popular perk. Just recently i'm seeing people use it more.
-
@TheMruczek said:
Fast track is going to stay, at least for a while.
It is in the same boat as Resurgence-overtuned perk that makes tunneling the better play while not being overpowered when brought by only one person. And Resurgence wasn't changed ever since it got buffed in july 2 years ago.
I think Ressurgence was a slept on perk, at least in my pov. I'm only recently seeing people using Resurgence. Fast track, by the other way, is being far more used now than Resurgence after buff, having at least 1 or 2 people with the perk in matches evey time.

MMR its one of the biggest needs in the game right now. Hope they add an option for a fast and a more precise MMR matchmaking (better for SoloQ)

Survivors : ermm it should be normal to get to endgame with more survivors alive and games where killers get 2+ survivors out before gates are powered are stomps/tunnel fests and it should be more common to get to end game with more survivors alive to be fair.
Also survivors : uhhh it's endgame and more than 2 survivors are alive? Lol you suck you deserve to lose, no pity kills. Body blocking and endurance are more than fair, if you get to this phase of the game with everyone alive you're bad.
And people wonder how "tunneling" is so "prevalent" - i really believe people exaggerate about tunneling in this game - in the current state of the game.
Really, there is ANYTHING that goes for the if he/she don't commit to taking a survivor out ASAP? Even the endgame got harder in the current update, imagine the rest.

Ironically, yes.
The killer has 5 gens to build pressure. If the 5 gens pop, that pressure is measured and if the survivors are alive, healthy, etc, tell me why the killer shouldn't be punished? If survivors play bad, they lose the game. If the killer plays bad, they should lose the game.
If this scenario is 'unwinnable', stop putting yourself in the scenario. As killer, you can do that. Why would you chose not to?
That's exactly what he is saying. People complain about killer using the best strats to even the play field against survivors - removing one from the match as soon as possible, slugging, camping, etc etc - , and these same survivors complain about killers when they say the endgame is harsh, saying killers is asking for a "pity kill" in the endgame, even when they get trolled by the basekit Borrow Time after unhook.
What kind of killer player these people want to go against???
-
To me, the only issues Krasue currently has is that infection means almost nothing if you are not in chase and she depends on some perks to counter strong loops like shack.
I would propose a change were if someone gets hooked while infected, they would have 60 seconds of a "dormant" infection - needs to be infected again to be hit by head form - , that would become a Lv1 infection if they don't eat mushroom in time. This would give her map pressure back without give her tunneling potential.
Also, If she was able to break pallet in head - even slower than normal - would make her gameplay much more enjoyable because changing forms to break pallets is absurdly annoying.
Otherwise, she is fine.
-
It would be absurdly broken perk for killes who can injure easily or have some for of exposed effect.
I wish they could rework the perk so you could stay with the 1 stack effect for longer instead of getting 15% of stacks. It would be viable in many more killers than it is today.
-
About some discussions in the topic: if you get 2 hook the whole match and the get 3 kills on the endgame, survivors have screwed absurdly BADLY. I personally don't consider a simple merit of the killer getting 3 kills in this scenarios, but a failure from the survivors. Depending on the situation, there is not much the survs can do for the save, the same as depending on the situation the killer can't protect the hook in any form to prevent the save.
@OP
Yeah, its quite silly on how strong the 15s BT is. Considering it was a 50% increase from the original 10s, it provided quite a huge buff for survivors. -
I'm all in for a reduction on animations for pickup, dropping and hooking survivors. It would be a good incentive against slugging.
-
Its a shame that Kindred isn't part of basekit for SoloQ. Just the aura of teammates would be such a great QoL without creating too much balancing issues.
-
Ardetha the GOAT <3
-
One issue i see in DBD is, as survivor, there is a "culture" and a mindset that its you against the killer. This is the common view of survivor in this game. People think they should be able to 1v1 the killer and still get out. Its how i understand why there is so much hate and toxicity. Its a horror movie where everyone wants to be the final girl.
The design for survivor is 4 people cooperating. You need your teammates to play, you should play with a team mindset, not a 1v1 mindset.
If people start to change this mindset i believe we could have a better environment for gameplay.

I have seen plenty of survivor win streaks and challenges. Hell otz and hens tried to do one where they didn't run.
And win streaks in general aren't meaningful. Most of the time these players will say like "i'm going on a break for my win streak" and play other killers, and/or play meme builds lose a bunch and then be like "ok streak back on" its not a true win streak if they aren't actually winning that many games in a row.
Winstreaks are just RNG, specially considering how MMR works in this game. That's the way i consider them. If you go against coordinate team or a high tier killer you will lose your streak. Those who ended Momo winstreak said they already get 3 man out against ArrayGamer (another very good blight player). There is currently a SWF doing winstreaks here where they lose when they go against a known player or a streamer who plays killer very well.
Streaks are just going against RNG to see how long you can go before you get a team as good as you.
-
@FrostySeal said:
I've noticed this for a long, long time but the two cases that stand out to me the most are the
HarmlessUnknown and most recently, Wesker, which makes me curious because why would either of those two ever be considered for nerfs when they've slowly and surely been getting power crept as time has gone on? People like to put both those killers in A tier usually, but I never really agreed with that sentiment.
There are strong A tiers, like Pyramid Head, Singularity, etc and then there are "potential" A tiers like Wesker and Unknown. Strong A-tier killers are almost always consistent throughout their matches, not requiring that much RNG to sway their chances of victory, whereas potential A-tier killers suffer massively when they get a map that isn't in their favor, and or survivors who are very aware of what they can do and can properly counter them. The Unknown, for example, can be pretty good IF you somehow never miss a shot ever, get a decent map, and get survivors who don't know the proper counterplay to him, because otherwise he feels absolutely miserable to play. Wesker can be really strong if you get a map that isn't absolutely cluttered with objects or weird collision, and or go up against survivors who don't know what he's capable of with his techs because otherwise, once again, he feels incredibly weak at times with his infection no longer being a serious threat and his power not being good for map mobility. So with all that being said, what's the deal with these types of killers repeatedly catching strays that the community then opposes strongly?IMO, BHVR balancing decisions and philosophy. They keep nerfing killers to accommodate casual survivors. B tier killer are the "norm" for casuals, although A tier + is the norm for experienced/better players.
For example, Houndmaster is one of the least played killers and got a sizable nerf in dog vault speed which made her far less effective in many situations, especially against those who pre-drop without much thinking. This combined with the common counter of "camp a pallet to stun the dog" made her a much weaker killer than after her buffs; Unknown got his best addons nerfed without enough compensation.
I don't agree with how they keep nerfing addons and killers powers to accomodate the killer's kit for casual players, but that's how they been doing recently, and i don't believe it will change soon.
-
That is my biggest grip with the catchup mechanic in 2v8. If you don't tunnel you are punished with more survivors doing gens even faster. Since i've came to realize this, i'm going for those who i hooked once, so i don't end up in a situation where i'm losing gens so fast that i can barely chase someone.
-
@SoGo said:
So, what do I mean by that?
It's really simple. The reason we can't have anything nice, the reason all the new players quit, the reason why "everyone tunnels/everyone is genrushing".
It's us. The "I HAVE to win" mentality, the constant Us VS Them arguments, the sheer, radioactive toxicity oozing out of every interaction between players.
BHVR doesn't help as much as they should. True. But what can you even do with a decrepit cesspit that the DbD community is?
Shouldn't the point of a game be to have fun? To have a break from stress and relax?
TBF, i think this is most out of how the devs handed and developed their game than a community fault. Of course, this community is quite harsh, but the devs did very few things to address toxicity, imbalance and bad matchmaking in this game through the years. The community is just a reflection of this lack of care - although they are trying more in the recent years.
-
Survivors don't use toolboxes because they want avoid tunnel, they use toolboxes because they want to win. Toolboxes are the most boring items in the game, although they are quite strong. If you are being tunneled, having a gen done won't help you. You probably will still be tunneled after your toolboxes have been depleted, specially if you brought a full ""genrush"""" builld. People who want to avoid tunneling use medkits, perks and maybe fog vials after the next patch.
@OP
I consider the gens going too fast only when toolboxes are in play. Hope they address it soon. Otherwise gen speeds are fine - just some maps and killers are in a bad spot, but this is another discussion.
-
My biggest grip with 2v8 is how it destroy queues in 1v4. If i want to play killer in 1v4 i need to wait 8m for a match; if i play survivor, probably will get a Blight, a Ghoul or a top tier killer desperate to win due to how long it waited in queue.
BHVR really should implement the play before you wait in the 1v4. It would help queue and would be a nice incentive to play both sides of DBD.
-
@SoGo said:
I agree. The flavor text gave the perks uniqueness.
But I guess BHVr does not like that. Because it's one update to make everything generic after the other.
The item rarities, the tomes, the favor text….
We are becoming Fortnite with Slashers pretty fast.
So sad to see the game losing its identity in exchange of nothing, like… they could make a "Legacy" option for those aesthetic changes so older players could still retain the "DBD feeling" those things brought.
I hate when DBD changes not for balance or for quality of life, but just to try to get newer audiences or to follow trends.
-
Now we just need a play while you wait 😁

It was the phrasing of M1 killers that threw me, because they're explicitly the ones who don't have a special break to be affected by this potential change.
I still think it's weird to run the perk for dealing with pallets better on killers who can already deal with pallets better, but that's a separate thing.
Yeah, maybe i was rushed to say M1 killers because i was thinking on Legion, but anyway, weaker killers will be the ones mostly harmed by this change.
Also, personally, i believe this will start a "trend" in BHVR in putting a barrier on how perks interact with powers. For example, Legion and Wesker might not block a window if they vault it with Bamboozle while using they powers.
About killer who break pallets with power not running Spirit Fury - or others perks related to their powers - i disagree. They don't NEED them - killers just need antigen these days - but they become viable builds. Vecna1 could have a interesting build (not the most meta) with the Vorpal Sword + EndFury but since they don't interact i don't see a reason to try this build on Vecna; EndFury on Knight would be great to get some hits if it worked on the guards breaking pallets, but since it doesn't, i usually just run the same antigen build everytime.
As @Reinami was pointing it out, it will take away many viable builds from some of the weaker killers who got some value on these perks.
EDIT: As i keep saying, currently i don't see any reason to play with more than 3 killers (Dracula, Blight and, ocasionally, Knight) out of the 42 this game has. This kind of change just incentives that. If that's not a thing to be concerned, i don't know what else could be.

…Wait, how?
Even if Spirit Fury's changing here, the M1 killers who'd use this perk are explicitly unaffected, they're the ones using basic breaks to charge the perk. I can't think of any M1 killers who even have a special break.
Legion is an M1 killer who will be affected by both special pallet break and special window vault.
Well, Bubba is not a M1 killer, but he is not very strong and will be affected by this change.
Again, my point it was that this will affect mostly weaker killer than the already strong ones.
-
Ironically, this nerfs more the weak M1 killers than the already strong top tier killers who can deal with pallets and vaults easily.
Hope they do some more changes to accomodate for this.
-
Knight would be so goofy in the 2v8. I imagine guards hitting the wrong people the whole match, people taking hits from the guards and then instahealing, everything. I'm eager for Knight, Unknown and Dredge join the 2v8.
Plague could work if after reaching max infection the infection would go away after 40 or 60s. She wouldn't be as strong as she is now but she still could be something.

it does have mmr, just like all other events.
while it doesnt effect your mmr whenever you win or lose compared to normal queue.
it does take your mmr into account whenever you get matched. (i:e if you have high mmr or are just a beginner)
this could also just be a region thing, i almost never seen a ghostface, rarely wraiths, just the same 4 high-tier slop.As far i know, it doesn't have an MMR, specially considering its a game mode, not a modifier. Also, considering how MMR works in the 1v4, even if it had MMR, with a 20+min queue you would be matched with anyone, so MMR would mean nothing, even if it was used in the mode.
Yeah, maybe its a region thing but i see almost every killer, just Trapper is a bit missing in the mode in my matches.

I did a similar experiment a few years ago with my 200-300 hour account, back when survivor mains on this forum started to increasingly complain about tunneling/camping and played extremely survivor friendly. From intentionally playing like a newby to playing for the kill while making sure to not double hook and avoid areas with the last hooked survivor.
My result in regards to chat was a little bit different from yours. It was a very roughly 70/15/15% split between silence toxic and positive chats. But I guess the influence of social media has worsened this aspect.
But what I can say is that survivor back then didn't care for the killer players experience. When it didn't end in a full farm game or when I was facing obvious baby survivors, they didn't hold back at all and all forms of taunting/attention seeking were rather the norm than an exception.
This still happens today. I was learning Blight recently and i was playing very badly in a match. When survivors noticed i was bad, they started to wave, point, spam noise notifications, click flashlights etc etc. Then when i got focused and slugged everyone, people just Dc'ed.
Like, why BM a killer when you know his skills is lower than yours? Whenever i play killer i get a survivor who is obviously less experienced i just play normally, no humping, nodding, etc etc. I feel like killers in this game - as it happened in other assym games - are just pushed into sweatiness due to how they receive a lot more of toxicity if they are playing poorly than if they are doing good.

Well if you play in an orginized group of Survivors over Discord or something like that it is highly possible to just not finish your gen as long as it is not in danger. So you got a 99% gen and all the others which are at another progression level still archive the bonus repair speed while in Soloque when the gen would have poped the extra gen speed would have vanished.
If survivors spread on gens like in the normal mode and killers commit too much for a chase, probably its gg. Luckily people have been sleeping on this.
What i don't like about 2v8 is how hooking the same survivor 3 times and hooking 3 different survivors one time has the same weight for the catch up mechanic (gen boost).
If you start to spread hooks the last two gens feels impossible to hold if everyone is alive; and by the other way around, if you start to kill people early you will get a pressure that will result in a big snowball that might lead you to a win.
BHVR should look at this and stop tunneling being the most effective strategy is this mode too.

The variety isnt going to get better if they add more killers.
This was clear the moment they expanded from 5 og killers to blight, spirit and slinger.
Now everyone is just playing oni, blight, wesker. Or maybe spirit and nurse.
Now they added 16 killers and its the same 3 killer, which wont improve unless everyone is s-tier or they force the variety on them by limiting killer options.
I can also say the same with survivor, but no one cares.
Well, i am constantly seeing the more different killers in my matches. TBH, the most common killer in my matches tend to be Wraith and Ghostface, which are two of the weakest in 2v8. Is very hard to get the same killers in a row, even the S tiers.
This mode don't have MMR, so its completely random who we match. So we don't have the argument that "in high MMR its only Nurse and Blight" as have in the 1v4.
More killers = more diversity. People don't just play S tiers, they like to change who the play. A lot of players is going for Chucky, even though he is not the strongest right now.
They really should add 3 killers for every iteration of 2v8, helping with the killer diversity.

Vigil mainly hinders killer perks that are already not very popular - hindred and exposed as well as some killer powers. If you run Hubris, Friends or Starstruck, but the perk does nothing because survivors grouped up and one of them decreased timer to everyone else in range so everyone that supposed to be exposed for 30s is exposed for 14s, same with hindred, perks like forced hesitation, knockout etc.
To exhaustion perks I think that they should be limited by hooks like dead hard is. We can argue that they can be activated by safe unhooks or some other requirements to make them less spammable when paired with Vigil.
At least for me, Exhaustion perks aren't such a problem. I just think they are quite strong and free for they effect they have. Limiting it to one use after hook would render Sprint Burst one of the worst perks in the game.
My biggest issue is with Vigil. Having a 24s exhaustion is something that can't be overlooked at. -

Add bp bonus for each gen that pops while you are in chase, 2v8 i juiced for all 8 gens but barely got any bp from the chase category
This should be in 1v4 too. 30% of the BPs other survivors get in other categories than chase should go to the one being chased by the killer. It wouldn't feel as bad it is now being tunneled and would be an incentive so people don't rat the entire match trying to get 7k BP for a escape.

My suggestion for Reassurance was to change how the perk works:
Instead of stopping the hook timer, it slows downs the hook timer speed by half, for 45 seconds.
Increase the range to 12m.
This would prevent people who use Reassurance to do last second saves and still punish camping killers if they stand close to the hook.

He isn't forgotten, just left behind due to no major problems with balance issues with him, at least until now, demo is who we need to get some attention (poor thing didn't get a single change or QoL since a few years ago)
Yeah, i was overreacting. But considering how Wesker was present in almost every match and how hard its is to find him now, i believe he could get some love.
-
I'm not sure about nerfing exhaustion… but if they do nerf, they could reduce the speed % and increase the exhaustion timer. It would make exhaustion much more balanced against low tier killers.
Also, they need to gut Vigil ASAP. Vigil turn exhaustions even stronger and break the game in so many aspects that its surprising how current Vigil is still on the game.
-
I don't play that much of Wesker but i believe that adding some of his addons as basekit (Egg, Crank, Medal) would give a breath of life to this forgotten character - and we would go back to Wesker 100% pickrate Era hahahaha
-
They are a good addition to the mode, although the Purified have quite a strong effect for survivor (no need to nerf). The diluted tonic could have a faster pickup speed for survivor and the Purified could be longer, considering the strength of the effects.
For killers, i would suggest that it would be best to get a 5% haste for longer than a very short 10% boost. Like, considering the time spent getting the tonic and not doing chases, make the Diluted tonic to give 5% haste for one killer for 30 40 seconds and the Purified to give 5% for both killer for 50~60 seconds. It would be really helpful without being too game breaking.

This survivors often lose because they mess around and don't do gens. I have had many matches were Im at the start basically only one doing gens and when killers start to take control teammates may finally start doing gens and even almost half the time we still manage to win.
Oni is fine in this mode, he is made to be playable on controller too with increased turn rate. Outside of myself I don't see him that often. Nemesis is almost in every match and his buffed zombies are pretty annoying.
TBH, DBD is balanced around survivors - and killer in some measure, but mostly survivors - being very bad at the game and still having a chance to win. They don't do gens, they get instachased by any killer (almost), they try risk saves and go down in seconds and many things like this.
I was playing SoloQ to farm points and my matches were atrocious, like we were losing to a Huntress who barely hit any hatchet; to a Blight who didn't knew how to bump properly, etc etc. In 2v8 is the same thing: people go down to a Ghostface in an ocean of pallets and windows. I've seen people using the Escapist sprint burst to try to spin the killer and go down seconds after.
Anyway, is comprehensible people complaining about Oni (a killer with instadown and speed) but i think we might be setting the bar too low to the point that any killer that is not a 4.4 or a M1 killer will be called out as broken or annoying.

Because didn't you know? Killers powers are not allowed to synergise or do well they have to be easy to predict with enough warning sounds and visual effects that even Stevie wonder could dodge it. 2v8 (and really DBD as a whole) is being geared towards the hyper casual.
Killer is too effective —> People Cry —> Killer Removed/Nurfed
Surv class/perk is too strong —> People Complain —> Nothing happens or we have to wait years first
Now they even have yellow vials that remove entire hook states, 2v8 is DBD for babies.
I mean DBD is a team game where most of its player base acts as if working together is a alien concept and when they lose because their teamwork is ass then they say its the killers fault for doing his objective, in any other game this would be a maddening concept that you would get mocked for but in DBD its actively set as the norm.

THIS! THIS! THIS!!!!!!!
Imagine if players wanted to nerf the enemy team in Overwatch/League of Legends due to how bad their teammates are? People forget that one side relies on teamplay to win while the other side don't (Due the game core design).
DBD is ASSYMETRICAL. One of the sides RELIES on their teammates. If they are bad, you are going to lose or at least have a hard time. People healing against Legion? Too bad for you! Cleansing in Plague Fountain? Too bad! Giving free hits to Oni? Too bad! People need to stop asking to nerf the otherside (killers) and ask to have a better experience on their own side, with better MMR and more info for SoloQ.

Its more sensitive so using it around corners isnt that easy plus he has shorter range when he flicks compare to before and 2v8 offers one class that can take oni for long time chase or get him off you if you want to be safe from him just pick escapist and you are good to go sprintburst on command every 30 seconds if great tool for countering oni around loops.
Also, with the Scout class people can just drop pallets no stop until Oni loses it power.
People loses against Trapper + Wraith combo, so its expected that they will be mad in going against any killer which is not a punching bag.

do you guys enjoy the killer queues?,
do you guys enjoy the mode being intentionally survivor sided?,
i dont mind if you want your killer to be in 2v8,
but we are in no position to add more killers on 2v8 without it making it worse for everyone involved.??????
This makes no sense. As survivor i'm tired of going against the same killers all over again. Queue times are astronomical either way. They have been even when new there wasn't any new killer added. And play while you wait helps a lot with the longer queue times. If they gave back the 400% i believe queue times would be much better than they currently are. I don't know why BHVR is so stingy with Bloodpoints incentives. The least they can do is add more killers so people still have interest in playing both sides or this mode will be just another 1v4 queue destroyer.

Y'all already whined Legion out of 2v8, now you want Oni out too????
The worst part is, if enough people want this, they will do it. However, it doesn't matter how much Killers complain about sprint burst on demand and how survivor sided 2v8 with every match being a disgusting gen rush, changes will never be made.I believe Legion was another thing, since its one of the most hated killers in the game (i don't have an issue with Legion).
If BHVR remove Oni, they better just let killers do gen with survivors then. At least this wouldn't upset the population that complains from everything a killer can do.
