If they're targetting you in game across multiple games, that's a reportable offense. Report them in game the next time you see them with evidence and they can get banned from DBD for it. Threats of irl violence in the end game chat are also bannable.
Outside of that, BHVR can't really do much. If they're threatening you in real life I'd advise speaking to the police about it. This sounds like it extends past DBD as a whole.

I had a somewhat similar idea a little while back:
@ReverseVelocity said:
Pharmacy has never really been a very used perk, and with the adjustments to Medkits, it's become even worse.
I had an idea which involves giving Pharmacy a unique limited item, which would allow Pharmacy to be balanced independently from Medkits.
Pharmacy:
You have a knack for finding medicine.
The Unlocking Speed of Chests is increased by 40/60/80% and the range of noises caused by Unlocking Chests is reduced by -8 metres.
When Injured, Unlocking a Chest guarantees an Adrenaline Injector.
If you have not opened or rummaged a Chest during the Trial, you gain the ability to rummage through an opened Chest to find an Adrenaline Injector.
New Limited Item - Adrenaline Injector:
A pristine medical device, filled with a shot of pure Adrenaline.
Hold the Use Item Button to inject the device into either yourself or another Survivor. Injecting another Survivor increases the action speed by +50%. Finishing the interaction heals the injected Survivor by one Health State.
Using an Adrenaline Injector takes 10 seconds.
The injector could reuse the Vaccine animation. It'd be a nice touch.
-
Maybe they could up the range, but mapwide would be too strong I think.

Lol. Such a funny post. I've never heard anything one way or the other about Leprechaun being added as a killer to DBD but that is quite the stance to take. So as long as Leprechaun is considered as a killer then we are safe from rotting?
Once they add Leprechaun, BHVR will be blessed with eternal riches and will be able to develop DBD forever… or something.
-
The fact that you're (probably unintentionally) implying that epileptics can't be over 18 is really funny.

ThIs is my tinfoil hat conspiracy but I think Judiths Tombstone is safe just because Myers in Dbd would seem a tad silly if he didn't have the option to just stab a survivor.
That, and Evil Incarnate is an achievement.

Yes, they can and mainly you have killers like Knight, or Twins that get screwed by portals a lot.
It's literally just Knight and Twins that get screwed over by the Passages at the moment, and that's easily solved by allowing the Guards and Victor to traverse them.
-
Forgive me Entity for I have sinned.
It was down to a 2v1 on Temple of Purgation. I'd just downed a Leon and saw the Nea in the distance. After downing and hooking the Nea, the next Tryk appeared. It was the Party Totems. I left the Leon slugged for over two minutes while I picked up every single totem on the map. He crawled away while I was doing this. I couldn't find him.
Just as he has a sliver of his bleedout bar left, I managed to find him, and hooked him.
I felt bad but the fat stack of 200k bloodpoints BEFORE cakes I got made me feel a bit better about it LOL.
-
I mean, yeah, I guess it is tunneling, but they're literally forcing you to do it. They are literally asking to be tunneled at that point. I use OTR and DS offensively like this at times but I don't cry when the killer tunnels me. They should know what they're in for by doing that.
Also, you can just tunnel whenever you want. You don't actually have to listen to who you're going against at all.

No pallet break, no remote hook.
How are yall so boring? If you don't like the event stuff don't queue for it.
Where'd I say anything about getting rid of the Remote Hook outside of fixing all of the bugs it has?
Also, I'm very sorry I don't like any pallet being shut down with the press of a button, that's totally interesting gameplay.
Most other things about the event gamemode I enjoy, it's just this part of the event just isn't fun at all.

no i am saying that placing these portals incorrectly on other maps can create infinities. Like for example you can spawn a jungle gym window, have a portal facing the window and than have another portal facing a T-L wall where you can do
Window→Teleport → Window→Teleport→Window→Teleport. If the killer is losing chase, those windows will never block.
I mean, they can do, but the same can be said about windows as a whole. There's a potential to place anything badly when making a map, but that doesn't mean those mechanics shouldn't exist.
The Forgotten Ruins infinite was fixed pretty damn quickly, and the biggest issue was the fact that it had a Passage exit right next to a regular god window anyway.
BHVR seem like they're trying to move Passages further away from windows specifically because of this potential issue, though.

Eh, imo the party pallets and remote break are kinda tied to each other. Either you have both or you can't have either of them, neither are balanced on their own. I do think survivors should still be able to vault the pallet until it actually breaks though, it shouldn't just become a barrier as soon as the killer presses the button.
I definitely don't want to see last year's bloodlust expose come back, it was extremely cheap.
If anything the Party Pallets and the Endurance are tied to each other. You can just use that to instantly counter any party pallet you see.
I don't want to see bloodlust expose come back either, but if I had to choose one to get rid of this year, it would've been the pallet break.

Until they address the infinite on forgotten realms maybe
They already did? They removed the window AND made the passages take more time for a Survivor to cross, and less time for the Killer to cross.

I've found that if you spam Q fast enough, you can get the survivor on the hook before the blind or pallet stun goes off. It's not 100%, but it works. My personal experience is that it's easier to dodge pallet saves than blinds this way - not sure if that's because survivors tend to be better at timing beamers or if that's intrinsic. Haven't tested it with Decisive but I've seen multiple clips of it, because the skill check has a slight delay.
If we were to keep remote hooks, I'd want them to be limited so that they can't be used until ~6 seconds into the carry, and they'd need to nix the part where it can yeet a survivor onto another floor of the map. Right now it saves too much time and does too much on top of that.
The reason it's easier to dodge pallet saves than flashlight saves is because pallet saves have no buffer. Flashlight saves can be done slightly before the pickup animation is complete and they go through instantly once you regain control, before you can press Q.
Dodging saves is pretty ping dependent in general, and shouldn't really be a thing. I don't think it's intended to work that way. It's definitely not intended to teleport the person saving to a hook instead. That was absolutely wild when that happened to me.
@fussy said:
I agree, it feels very cheap on both sides, basicly removes gameplay from the game. I think next years killers should get some info tool instead as answer to Quite mode survivors get this year. Or maybe extended lange / very fast vault on button. And it will be perfect event for me on both sides.
Hell, why not give Killers a Quiet Mode instead? Press the event button outside of a chase and get like 10 seconds of Undetectable. Bubba stocks through the roof.

So killer gets a stronger power, pretty sure you or anyone would complain again
It's pointless tbh
I don't think they should implement a power stronger than breaking pallets remotely.
@Laluzi said:
It's quite strong, but personally I'd rather get rid of remote hooks. The pallet break is efficient. The instahook is efficient and invalidates multiple entire playstyles. Decisive Strike, Flip-Flop, Power Struggle, Breakout, Breakdown, Boil Over (good riddance admittedly), Background Player, Flashbang, and Saboteur are all functionally unrunnable right now because killers can just Q on pickup and override every tool for hook denial survivors have. The pallet break murks Any Means Necessary and that's it.
About half of those aren't even countered by remote hook. The killer still has to pick up which leaves them open for saves, and doesn't bypass DS. At least it's not meant to, it's kinda buggy. I've been getting my fair share of pallet/beamer saves and I've been getting hit with pallet/beamer saves too.
It only really counters Sabotage.

But survivors also have plenty of powers (block for windows, pallet for pallets, and quiet for basically everywhere), ultimately they can do something at everywhere, which is not the case for killers because all they have is pallet break and mostly useless endurance
not to mention the fact not every strong loop is pallet dependent, so if it has to be "basically every loop" that is not true for pallet breaks too
Keeping benefit for one side and ditching other is just simply ridiculous, no power or all power, pick one
I'll happily play the event with just BP bonuses
I mean, they don't have to keep every power for every year. Exposed on Bloodlust was replaced with Remote Hook. A similar thing could easily happen here.
-
@Neaxolotl said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753094#Comment_3753094
Same can be said to literally every survivor power, even if situational, if we gonna go "that" route, only way is to simply remove all the bonuses from the event
It really can't, since they're not really applicable to basically every loop in the game.
-
@Crowman said:
It's an event not a permanent gameplay addition. It's hardly gamebreaking as there are killers who have basekit ways to quickly destroy pallets or knight whose guards can already do remote pallet breaking.
As for why pallet breaking stayed and not expose, is because the expose power just wasn't a well designed power or interesting power. Being tied to chase meant survivors could just counter it by standing still which just results in the killer get a hit. Then all it did was allow you to 1 hit survivors by bloodlusting.
I mean, it is a little gamebreaking when you give killers the ability to remotely destroy pallets when they don't usually have it. It instantly takes a pallet out of play for the Survivor, since they can't vault it. Also Killers that have the ability to chew through pallets quickly generally still have to perform their breaking animation, albeit faster. Remote breaks are just tap a button and go.
I know it's not a permanent gameplay addition, I didn't need to be reminded of that, that's why I said can we ditch it next year. Event abilities should be things that spice up the regular gameplay a bit, but shouldn't be too powerful as to make things boring.
-
@Neaxolotl said:
Then probably lot of survivor power would be removed, since they are also pretty strong
Maybe we should just make it a 500% BP events with skins, I doubt anyone loves the event power at this point
The Survivor powers are generally more situational. They CAN be very good, but the remote pallet break is good in basically every single scenario, in a boring way.
The Survivor powers haven't been giving me nearly as much trouble when I've been playing Killer, but the same can't be said for the other way around. I'm pretty sure Survivor event queue has been at 150% BP incentive for basically the entire event.
-
@Caiman said:
It has a lot of potential, but none of it is good. They should never use it again, and ideally they should remake Forgotten Tower to remove them entirely.
What's wrong with the mechanic in your eyes?
-
@RhodosGuard said:
Survivors be setting up double back-to-back god pallets in RPD but remote breaking is somehow bad.
The whole idea of a god pallet is that you can drop it and get distance regardless of what the killer does.
A pallet that auto breaks itself really isn't a god pallet.
-
@Krazzik said:
If they make it so it isn't so survivor-sided it could be cool. Shouldn't be an easy way to just break chase for survs.
It's not anymore. The changes to traverse speed means that Survivors get basically zero distance when using them.

With server validation, cheats like speedhacks and other ones that mess with the physical world of the game would be impossible. But they still work in DbD, so no server validation for player speed and other important variables. And it's not an "arms race" in this case, with server validation of player speed speedhacks become impossible forever, unless the cheater hacks directly into the server. Not "harder to implement", but completely theoretically impossible. You will never meet a speedhacker in, say, TF2 (game abandoned for many years and heavily ridden with cheaters, usually sniper bots), because the server validation makes it completely impossible for such cheats to work. The sniper bots there will head shot you in one frame, but they still well walk with normal speed. The only things that theoretically can't be server validated are player inputs (aimbot) and client optimization abuses (wallhack), this is why these kinds of cheats are always possible and therefore can be called an "arms race" against the anticheat. But speedhacking, flying, match flow manipulations, game crashes and other trash that can be done by cheaters in DbD is pretty much unheard of in games with actual server validation. Please, read what server validation actually is, there is next to none in DbD.
Flying was patched for a LONG time, so was instantly popping gens, etc.
You have to remember that this is a game where movement speeds often change drastically. There are times where a Survivor will be running at 150% of their normal speed pretty often throughout a game. You can't prevent every instance of a Survivor going fast, because Survivors are sometimes supposed go fast.
This is compared to TF2, where movement speeds rarely change, and the hard cap for movement speed is not that far from a Merc's general walking speed. The absolute fastest a Merc can move is 520 hammer units per second, and only Scout can achieve that movement speed physically. Most TF2 Cheaters use Sniper, for obvious reasons.
There are legitimate reasons where a Survivor will move at over 200% of their movement speed, such as getting hit when activating an exhaustion perk. A blanket speed cap wouldn't necessarily be appropriate, and any movement speed cap won't really do anything practically as a Survivor moving at 150% speed is practically uncatchable by normal means anyway.

I agree Judith's is balanced, while Piece is busted because it doesn't require the stalk-everyone-to-near-full double addon setup to work, but I suspect they're going to remove it just because the no-hook healthy mori is an ancient relic of gameplay that doesn't line up with modern DBD.
I won't really mourn it. I like that Myers has so many completely different playstyles enabled by his addons (something that also doesn't really exist with modern killers, but you saw it more often with the OGs), and you don't know what to expect with him when you see him and that adds to the fear factor. But Judith's + Tuft doesn't create engaging games, win or lose.
I don't know, I think being able to grab and just straight up kill a Survivor is very unique to Myers. I'd be pretty sad if the Tombstone mechanic as a whole was removed, but Tombstone Piece 100% needs adjustments.
-
@Laluzi said:
There's no way tombstone piece and Judith's Tombstone survive, which is probably for the best. Other than that… I think the first thing he needs is unlimited stalk and less punishing conditions in Tier 1. Reworking Tier 1 to be a viable maximum-stealth approach and then changing the mechanic so he cycles between the tiers instead of T1 being a nerf state he has to escape and then never returns to might be a good move?
I think Judith's Tombstone will be fine, the downsides are enough to balance it out. Tombstone Piece will almost certainly get a change, though.

If there really is an official BHVR statement, could it be that server-side validation and useful cheat protection will finally be introduced?
I know the topic is avoided and suppressed as much as possible. But perhaps now there is more pressure for something to be done.A Dead by Daylight with useful cheat protection. What a wet dream that might come true.
We do have server-side validation and cheat protection though? We have had it for a long time.
A lot of cheats that worked in the past are no longer a thing, but those protections may eventually get bypassed. That's just how anticheats work, it's an arms race. Someone makes a cheat, you introduce a fix, they either bypass the fix or make a new cheat, repeat for all eternity (or as long as the game is actively developed for, at least).
-
I'm not sure why they haven't done this yet, honestly.
-
What if they just made it so that attempting to self unhook had half of the penalty it does currently?
Buffs 4%, Up the Ante, Slippery Meat AND makes it harder to immediately go next.

I mean I wouldn't play Alan Wake as much if he didn't have voicelines, and I wish Saga had them as well. I'm not sure if they'd fit every single survivor, but I generally like voice lines when they're added.

Last time I complained about something that seemed like a bug but was by design (they removed the hot key to accept a SWF invite, why would devs do that on purpose?) they just closed it and I had to create a new post in Feedback. This seems along the same lines of "you devs did this on purpose and it makes no sense."
… but I could be wrong. 🤔
Worth a try at least.

I'd stick this in the bug reports section tbh

That would be sick!
I really want to see a Drill weapon like that for Singularity as well, honestly.

"Associated with accounts or sources of activity which break the game's EULA" is pretty vague.
What does that even mean?

I got 221 on Saga/Alan and about 500 on Sable.
Exactly 1 Cobbler on Legion because I'm already p100 and have like 600 Terrormisus.

Yeah, the definition of Genrushing will vary depending on who you ask.
In general, I'd say it requires players dedicating an entire build to doing gens as fast as possible. I'm talking BNP, Commodious, Stake Out + Hyperfocus, Prove Thyself, Streetwise, stuff like that.

thats not how its supposed to work, the obsession has to TAKE DAMAGE OR CHANGE HEALTH STATES i dont know why people have a hard time understanding this. Hitting a m2 that doesnt deal damage removing stacks is a bug and not intentional, and the play with your food part you misunderstood, pinhead loses 2 stacks of play with your food when running engi fang its supposed to be only 1 stack so actually it is a bug
Unfortunately, they don't have to take damage anymore. They just have to be hit with a Special Attack, and that includes non-damaging special attacks like Cenobite's. Trickster's individual knives each lose 2 stacks when they hit the Obsession.
On the PTB where it got nerfed, it used to be whenever the Obsession lost a health state, but they decided that Plot Twist and For the People were bigger problems than it being useable on killers like this, I guess.
I don't understand why they made this decision.

There is no window vault hit validation. Only regular hit validation and that only kicks in in extreme cases of ping difference.

The flavor part of me says yes, absolutely, but my brain looks at 'has to sleep survivors before he can even hit them' and '50% repair speed penalty' and screams please no. I like the idea, especially Freddy being completely undetectable to awake survivors, but stuff like failing a medkit skill check mid-chase, the free 7 seconds to get to a safe spot every time Freddy starts chasing you, and the fact that nobody likes slowdown games and we have so many worse perks for that than we used to, would all need to be handled before we go back to the OG idea of the Dream World - even if we're giving Freddy actual powers to use in the Dream World, because I'm taking that as a given over his original incarnation.
But he's the killer I want reworked… second most, after Skull Merchant. He just has nothing going for him - no strength, no identity, no uniqueness, no anything. Even his teleporting, which was originally pretty cool, is now in the kits of multiple newer killers who do his job better than he can. Used to be just him and Demo (and mint rag Hag) who could teleport at will, now we have Xeno, Dredge, Unknown, Singularity, and Sadako, and I'd rather play any of them than him.
(And this has no bearing on power, but I would flip a table if the Dream World wasn't just a grey filter but had nightmarish versions of assets - faces in the shack wood grain, blood seeping out from lockers, things like that. Environmental jumpscares like the ones on Midwich, fake footsteps and laughter, that sort of thing. Make it a proper nightmare.)
Oh yeah, I don't think the slowdown should come back.
If they reduced the Dream Transition by a few seconds, and gave him a chase power on top of the info and small TR, he'd still retain his old flair while fitting into a more modern DBD. We already have killers that have to uncloak before hitting people, and reducing the Dream Transition to like 4-3.5 seconds would basically be the same as like Wraith or Sadako essentially.

Old Freddy ain't coming back. They moved away from aura reading in killer powers back in 2018 and basekit megaslowdowns are a total non-starter. What does that leave? Manual entry to the dream world? What's the point?
Plus old Freddy was a giant DC magnet. Everybody hated him at the time, which was why he was reworked in the first place.
That's not to say he doesn't need changes. But they should go forward, not back.
More likely they will give him the ability to switch between snares and pallets, and maybe give him some other toys as well.
I agree that his slowdown should be moved away from, but the info, stealth and mindgames were what I played him for primarily.

OP accepts defeat, not asking for basekit Unbreakable as a fixing.
OP asks to punish the bleeding behaviour.
Exactly this. Slugging in general is a totally fine game mechanic.
However, bleeding out for 4 minutes is just griefing at that point. I don't think it should be bannable because support is already pretty swamped, and that doesn't solve the issue either. There needs to be a measure taken to mitigate how much time this can waste.

It's busted in the most boring way possible. It's super effective but makes me fall asleep when using it (ironically). I play Legion to go fast, not to go 4.6m/s.
