It sounds like you've learned how to play Nurse, and neglected the fundamentals of any other regular killer. Of course you're going to be doing a lot worse than with her, since she plays incredibly differently.
The killer specific MMR is only a minor difference, since most killers have transferrable fundamentals, they're not going to put you against new players for picking a less-played killer. However, in your case, you haven't built up those skills, so it's going to feel like whiplash.
My advice, keep at it, but try not to care too much about winning or losing initially. It'll be a nightmare for a while, but your skill will develop and your MMR will end up in a more fair position.
Learning the killer fundamentals will open up the other 40 killers in the game, and there's a lot of fun to be had there. You'll be much better off in the long run if you don't put all your eggs in one floating basket.
-
Because OTR only really has the hit animation as a form of slowdown.
DS has the hit animation, the pickup animation, and THEN the 4 second stun afterwards.
-
Learn how to double save. Even in SoloQ you can pull it off if your teammates are decent.

BHVR hasn't really had a successful game outside of DBD and one the main factors to DBD even being successful was the introduction of the Halloween chapter early in the game's life.
While I'm sure BHVR/DBD will be fine in the short term, there is a reason to be concerned about the long term of the game. This year has still been a mess for DBD.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm hoping it's not going to be a huge deal long term. DBD has already been enshrined as the quintessential horror asymm and I don't think Halloween leaving will end that.
We'll probably have a year without Michael, then GUN will abandon the Halloween project like they did with TCM, and then it'll come back like Stranger Things.
Can't deny it's been a pretty bad year for DBD all round though. I really hope it isn't a sign of worse to come.

@Crowman said:
I'm sure it's not related at all, but it's kind of funny how this comes shortly after the Myers rework.
I think it's related, but not due to the causation you'd think.
They probably wanted to do the major rework before they lost the license. So the license being removed caused the rework, not the other way around.

WHAT?!
They are taking out the savior chapter of DBD?I had to do a quadruple take on it too 😭
I thought I was being pranked, but no, it's real.

It's gonna be back once the Halloween game is gonna flop. Most of the people are tired of Illfonic and gun media, especially since they stopped supporting TCM and throw it into corner like nothing
Pulling a license from the most popular asymm to force people to come to one place if they want to play as Myers is just such a terrible idea.
Way to spoil the press for your game that was gonna be dead in a year anyway.
-
If I need to see my teammates I generally just run a key and it keeps my perk slots free.
I generally prefer Kindred over Bond though.
-
Doesn't increase the vault speed, will block the windows.
-
I vote Legion, because having Skully as an M1 killer and not Legion under those criteria makes no sense!!!
They've been my go-to since 2019. Even during the days of 4 second basekit fatigue, those were the (bad) days.
-
@Wihris said:
The thing is the perk already has an animation so the killer can counter it appropiately, so them being able to swing and avoid the stun completely, that can only be used once as well by the way, seems like very terrible design to me. Imagine people could get hit through the head on animation. No, the killer gets stunned instantly, because that is the point of the perk and it already has a counter, baiting the survivor.
This perk's counter is also baiting the survivor, because it has an animation that reveals it's in play. If you see the survivor has this perk, you are going to play more careful around vaults. As it is right now, you can just swing as if the survivor didn't have it because you are getting the hit regardless. I don't care that it is a one time use, as of now, it is useless beyond saving someone once, and that's something only bully squads will pull off. If you make it function like head on stun that is instant, it will be useful at least. It's all I ask for.
Head On has a delay before you can use it, and requires you to be in a vulnerable position (and not looping), so the comparison doesn't really apply.

@Leon_van_Straken said:
Does the stun get reduced by enduring?
This could backfire horribly. Start vault Killer gets stunned. Land after vault and Killer can nearly move again.
Enduring only works on Pallet Stuns, not Perk Stuns.
-
Also this specific pallet being removed from the Pizzeria makes the entire back end of the building a complete deadzone:
-
Unsure why the decision to nerf Midwich, an already super killer-sided map, was made:
A lot of pallets are nerfed heavily or straight up missing entirely. There were zero pallets in the courtyard in this game apart from the Clock Tower.
-
I agree. They should revert it.
-
I'd honestly have to agree. Unless they buff the Undetectable duration significantly I'd rather they just revert this change and have the smaller Undetectable duration on Drone Placement.
+2 seconds is absolutely not worth the Undetectable needing you to remove parts of your power to activate it.
-
Last Stand is fine as-is imo, you just need to play with this knowledge in mind.
If it stunned at any point during the vault then you wouldn't really be able to dodge it at all.
-
We know this feature only exists to make hits more visually "attractive" and appear more "legit"
No? It's the reason lunges actually hit Survivors instead of you having to manually let go of the attack key to start a swing.
Ever gone too far past a Survivor while swinging as Chucky? That's because he doesn't have Aim Dressing on Slice and Dice.
Granted the system has its hitches, but it's one of those things that you won't notice it at all if everything's going well, and it'll be obvious when it goes wrong.
-
How does hooking two other Survivors and then a Survivor that's dead on hook count as tunnelling?
You'd need one hook to switch the obsession, and another hook to proc the aura/exposed. That's the opposite of tunnelling.
-
I'd rather have the skin WITHOUT the custom dog to be honest.
I LOVE the look of the skin. Do not like the look of the dog. I cannot run the skin without using the Dog as well.
Custom power skins are just another case of BHVR not fleshing out a system properly, and it getting abandoned. They need to be a separate cosmetic slot, alongside custom moris. They would sell much better if they were independent of their respective skins where possible.
-
Do you honestly think that they wouldn't have thought of this already?
The reality of game development (and especially anti-cheat development) is probably more complicated than you realise.
-
Yeah, they instructed their anti-cheat devs they have on salary to deliberately not implement obvious solutions that would fix everything to make more money. Or something.

I've seen so many clips lately of the "spawn into a match and all the survivors are just killed on the spot within a few seconds" without the killer even going near them last few months. I'm thankful I haven't seen yet.
Its like how is that even enjoyable to play for the hacker at that point.
I think sadly hackers are stuck in the lower MMR as they get banned by the time they build up matchmaking mmr, I see a lot of new players on fb groups posting clips all the time of hacker encounters and i could probably count on hand the hackers I've personally have versed this year but I also play alot. (outside of things I would have no way of knowing they have eg aura hacks)
there needs to be some better anti cheat 100%, like im no game dev but surely you could have something like if someone is doing something that is not possible within a normal match flag it. if it happens x amount of time a few days ban. eg:
"ok the killer is swinging his weapon faster then it would ever be possible too normally"
"The killer was able to kill everyone within 30 seconds no hooks"
"OK that players movement / action speeds are faster then it should be possible to get"
"that player just teleported into the sky and went across the map"
situations where there is no way to do these things with normal gameplay or perks
On a more light note the funniest hacker i seen was like 2022 ish, just a flying Myers in the sky revving billies chainsaw and sending out pinhead chains from the sky 🤣 (hacking is never good just a funny encounter)If you think something seems super obvious, and still hasn't been done despite people pointing it out, there's probably a very good reason why such a thing is not possible.
-
As much as I'd love it, and I think the devs would love it too, I think New Line Cinema refuses to let it happen.
-
I think Human Greed should show you the aura of open chests too. It's annoying losing track of where they are sometimes.
-
this gives behavior to much power over the majority's voices/ the people who had made a DBD account!!
This is not the intention. New accounts or accounts with low post counts have to have their posts approved due to a series of incidents in the past where people have created brand new accounts to post horrible gore images on the forums.
-
Have fun. If it's not fun stop playing.

Push them out?
Several killers also have a basekit way to kill a survivor if they're trying to stay in the exit gate and leave last second.
If I'm playing trapper for example and I walk to the gate, at most I have to left click a few times per survivor to push them out. If I'm slugged as survivor, there is nothing I can do basekit to speed up the wait time of 4 minutes on the ground.
I mean everyone always says that, but the point of these features is to make lost matches feel better from a QoL standpoint.
The whole "watch me leave" thing is a common point of frustration.

Well, not really. Once the mori animation plays, or if they're all slugged, there's nothing left to do. The Survivor has already done all they can in the match, so they've played it through.
…and once every Survivor is in the exit gates, there's nothing left for the Killer to do either.
People are only opposed to one of these qualifying for an abandon, though.
-
@Volcz said:
B/c you signed up to a match to see it through, you're able to actively move around and still use your power, you can still catch survivors not near gates, etc. Just b/c your ego gets hurt is not a valid reason to end/exit a match (goes both ways).
I mean you could make this argument for the Survivors. A lot of people abandon to skip the mori animation etc because it'd "hurt their ego".

More healthy and the loud people complaining would have realized that the changes were not that bad. Maybe they would have adjusted the changes already a bit.
People who are used to tunnel every game would suffer the most, but who cares about those? Anyone who is half-decent as Killer would be able to adapt.
But sadly BHVR listens to the loud people, not the reasonable ones.
I mean, they generally pull back changes due to overall community consensus. A lot of people agreed that the changes were flawed at their core. It does not mean anyone complaining is part of a "loud minority" or whatever you want to label people as.
-
There would probably be a lot of people running at the killer with the knowledge that nobody in their right mind would hook them.

It's a Blight, who has incredible mobility, you should really move somewhere else before healing.
-
it was abused by surviviors, they always would choose macmillan or azarov
You're forgetting the endless wave of Badham offerings, actually. I saw way more of those than Azarov's or Macmillan offerings.
The pallet density update was not fine either, it was incredibly busted. The adjustment to it was not okay either, though.
-
There should be a voiceline frequency option in general.
I barely hear the voicelines on some Survivors in game at all, and I'd love to be able to increase the frequency slightly.
-
It has been like 4 days, I'm pretty sure they'd still be collecting them.
-
I hope it'd make it a slightly more even playing field without being a total sweatfest 24/7.

It’s funny how just 3 weeks ago these forums and YT channels were Melting down saying let’s just remove killers and give survivors free wins
NOW it’s the TOTAL OPPOSITE, NOW it’s everyone saying let’s just remove survivors
If I was in charge and saw all the videos calling me survivor biased I would be so petty and make it so survivors only get one hook state so if your hooked once your dead
Why not remove both? Turn the entity's realm into a nature reserve.

Nah, a lot of games if you get bad randoms the game is already lost.

So is every game where your teammates are selected randomly.

I don't really think it's that subjective, I think it's widely agreed on who is powerful and it's generally the hyper mobility killers (Nurse, Blight). Like they even promote the comp scenes these days which even limit said killers so yeah. Otherwise I agree with what you're saying it would be a lot of fun.
and as for @ReverseVelocity that's not what happened with the recent 2v8, which is what got me thinking about it.
I feel they could easily make events more fun for everyone if they removed the common tryhard options.2v8 was different, since each killer has to be individually adapted to the new gameplay loop. The issue is Legion scaled incredibly well with the different mechanics. Even then I wasn't really happy with how they handled it.
Events don't change the gameplay loop inherently, they only add stuff on. It's just 1v4 with extra stuff.

Me and @cogsturning ran into a Clown the other day, who was abusing the fact that the 16 meter radius is unchanged.
Hawkins. Basement was in the portal room.
He was standing just on the edge of the anti-camp range, within a 3-gen as well. He had perfect vision of the gens, and the only entrance into the portal room, and he just stood there, waiting for over 2 minutes.Posted this screenshot in another thread, but I'll re-post it here, since it is relevant to the topic.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OGVHN9NIFZUA/very-campy-clown.png
Is this really okay? Notice how the anti-camp has not gone up, not even a little bit.
Honestly, if two people die within a 3 gen directly next to basement, there's some major misplays going on there, and I don't think they should be able to get out for free.
Literally just hold W away from the basement and you can avoid that kind of situation.
-
They're never going to do that, that's not what the killswitch is for.
I think selectively excluding things from events is a slippery slope, either way.
-
He's feeling a bit down lately, he's not laughing at the moment :(

Polls taken on an obscure part of the forum with 300 votes aren't representative of a playerbase of millions. Which part of the playerbase would be more motivated to find said obscure part of an already little-used forum and vote the same way on every poll? No, no, sorry I forgot I can't use the slightest amount of reasoning when considering flawed polls and misrepresentative samples. Number higher. Nerf survivors again. Yes, yes ,you're right of course.
The queue times and player counts will speak louder than killer streamers demanding every possible survivor QoL update be immediately reverted. Hopefully people vote with their playtime.
Again, if you look at the last line of my post, I said that the polls are not the sole arbiter of feedback.
They have a whole team of people who's entire job it is to sift through posts on Reddit, Twitter, Youtube, Discord, Steam AND the Forums. They did not decide this change based off this poll alone, in fact, this poll was probably only a small fraction of the feedback they got. I think that should be very clear to anyone who knows anything about how the community team works.
The reddit thread about Pallet Density got 1.3k comments alone:
