Somewhat true but it's way worse in this game.
In any team based PVP game, you can win just by killing all the enemies if you outskill them. If I load up CS2 and have perfect aim and positioning with an AWP, I will win every round even if my teammates are all asleep. My skill and input matter regardless of my teammates.
In DBD, versus any killer that is smart enough to know "don't chase the best player, leave them to do gens", I am mathematically unable to carry if my teammates are bad enough. Which, granted, is fine, because this is a team based game. What isn't fine is how bad and loose DBD's matchmaking can be at times to provide ridiculously lopsided matches. BHVR has prioritized queue times so much that most average matches are complete stomps, one way or another.

false in those games you can usually carry not in this one and even the hatch is RNG.
and its not just about teammates. If you get a blight on his winstreak you are not going to win because you dont have comms.
