It's funny, as a solo queue player the most aggravating challenges are the 'escape a trial' ones 🤣 I have to give them credit though, the recent challenges are alot better than the older ones. I changed platforms early 2023 and started going through them all again and it's been... something
Same that's why I'm like ######### do yall want me to do?! I can't even understand half of them. 4 or 5 steps to each and then do this 3 times in one match. smh

I mean all of them said he is fine as he is currently... So I don't think they did not read that, it is just that they disagree... But sure let's go over it...
Stun or slow on his shock is somewhat the same as no slowdown while shocking: his whole shock to prevent pallet/window and gain distance while going around the tile would go quite a lot faster while maybe incentivising people to overshock, depending on how big the stun/slow is, especially if there is not downside to spam the shock, so no reason to learn proper timing...
His increased basemovementspeed would be lesser evil here but still not good because it messes with how you play against an m1 killer, as we can already see against chase Hag.
Therefore no to all 3 of them, doctor is fine in that regard... I would not mind a teleporting to illusions thing for example or an addon pass but his shock interaction is good as it is.
You do know that he could spam his shock but can't immediately attack after shocking right?
-
None of you read the big ole OR in the original post. If his shock had a hinder, like you know getting hit with a stun gun, OR if he didn't slow down while charging, OR if his base move speed was slightly higher.

Any word on this? It''s Been a month.

I’d love to be able to do that. But the problem is people who DC and kill themselves on hook. It’s agony to be left to amuse a killer who now only has one human to play against. But I’d love it more if the game simply cancelled if anyone DCed. I’d love it if the punishments were more harsh. I played somewhere around 10 games last night, and people did that on first down. They didn’t when they realized they were playing skull merchant. They did it when they didn’t like the map. It punishes those left behind trying to just play the game.
Exactly, it's really frustrating when it happens and you know if they do it once it's likely happening over and over with that person. 5 minute penalty not really a deterrent, if people are going to DC etc. they are going to keep doing it. I'd rather just not be paired with people like that and an avoid list seems like a good way to start.

Combine chase music with the occasional sound occlusion on certain maps and i go from being muffled and underwater to blaringly loud. There has to be a better way for all of us suffering with early onset hearing loss from things like wildly varying volumes of explosion sfx/loud music etc. in games.

Can't see anything as killer on the corn maps. Too bright, the color distinction for aura reading perks is non existent for anyone with even slight colorblindness. Playing as Dredge when his power turns everything black and white its so bright my eyes start burning.

The game is generally balanced around mid to mid-high mmr. The game is killer favored at low mmr. Mid MMR, it's generally balanced, High MMR, it's survivor favored. They aren't going to balance the game around an mmr level where it's considered an achievement surviving 5 gens. Surviving 5 gens isn't that difficult as experience is gained unless you're facing a broken killer like skull merchant\blight\nurse. Once you get some more time in the game, you'll start understanding why these perks disable in the endgame. If someone gets unhooked in the endgame collapse, it's an almost guaranteed escape with their endurance protection unless they are REALLY far from a door, and if there are other survivors to bodyblock protect them, it's gave over for the killer.
With the amount of hook camping and tunneling, it really is. It used to be new killers mainly now it's every tier. "It's a viable strat" "It's part of the game" Bring back hatch spawning before endgame. That was a "viable" strat till killers complained and completely changed a core mechanic.

I saw it in Polish translation and it was quite clear. The original English translation (the one I play on) is indeed quite freaking confusing.
From the Polish translation, it just means:
1) Catch a survivor in a bear trap (probably pick them out of it as usual)
2) reset the trap
3) Leave the trap in the same place... okay.
That's literally what there is in the translation. It doesn't mention to catch anymore Survivors into it again.
i literally did this twice with two traps in the same game, no luck. When i went to reset it changed its orientation that might break it.

Ignore the high quality picture and look my surv foes in the same elo.
Is it just unlucky that my matchmaking is that bad or is it a normal thing??? I'm confused and not a native english speaker so don't correct me thx😘
Just now, roughly a 5 minute match. SWF, Gen rushing, lit totem went down before I made one gen sweep. Like what the actual hell... How many years has this game been out with a key component being this janky at this stage? When I started I NEVER saw this kind of off balance crap but then again the community is dying out and tbh the devs haven't cared about quality updates in ages.

For one, welcome to the forums how ever what you have just done here is known as "necro-posting" and its mainly looked down upon, so I wouldn't aim to do it again
Secondly, you can't compare survivor add ons and items to killers. Perma tier 3 Myers which is the example here is no where near as strong as people say it is, good survivors don't really care about being injured and Myers being perma tier 3 having a 32m just entices this more, since he can't jump up on them anymore. All he gets at this point is a slightly longer lunge and faster vault speed which is just a slightly better Legion.
"Necro posting" if DBD's forums were worth a damn in terms of organization it would probably be easier to avoid and "I wouldn't aim to do it again" like you're some kind of authority. Love the veiled threats. Also this game is dead anyway 0 developer interest I.E. matchmaking, new items, nah mostly just pumping out skins. Thanks for the unnecessary response.

Any addon that eliminates a cooldown, or uses words like "unlimited" is pretty ridiculous. Imagine a survivor add on, unlimited charges on toolbox or flashlight killers would be raging.
-
I feel like his aiming mechanic is wonky af. Unreliable at best and having to choose whether to keep ranging survivors or swing and lose all that progress... It doesn't feel fluid, it feels like gaining momentum just to slam on the brakes and start from scratch. Just my 2 cents.

Matchmaking is probably one of DbD's worst problems by far. How can you ever hope to get better if your a green rank matching up with a full team of red rank survivors every other match? So here's my solution:
Casual and Competitive modes. That simple. Casual ques you up without the ranking system, and awards no pips or depips per match, maybe with slightly less bp. Comp mode MUST be played to maintain your pips and still offers depips but also higher BP gains.
The issue is people try to merge DBD with other games/play styles. The only thing that's going to "fix" matchmaking or equal player ranks is a hard lock on player composition based on rankings. Greys with greys, reds with reds, and even then it's not fool proof. Expect hour long queues (if you get one at all) and at the end of the day people will troll, purposefully de-rank and moving up will be even harder than it is now just to have 2 bad games keep you yo-yoing between ranks.

I play in Australia, so straight of the bat, the queue for me is already horrible. That being said, I have noticed that the pool of players in queue have been very survivor heavy, I got into queue for survivor and could be waiting for 10 15 even up to 20 minutes at a time. Go into a killer queue however and I am in a lobby in under 5 minutes, most times I don't even make 30 seconds.
I think you should trial a new matchmaking system in which 5 players are found and 1 is assigned killer and the others obviously survivors. This not only means that people will find matches sooner, but will get more people to play killer.
However this would cause problems with those who do not like killer, and if they got filled as killer they would skip or just stand there. But then again, maybe not.
Thanks for reading.
Except you can't change challenges after hitting ready or choose to have an active killer/survivor challenge at the same time. Also if you're trying to complete a character specific one and you get filled to the opposite role or do a daily it negates it right there. Good idea but it would require a lot of other changes first.

SWF itself isnt a bad thing, in fact it does make the game better as it allows you to play with friends. the matchmaking however is the problem. If you're in a SWF party it'll matchmake with the highest ranked survivor. this in tern means if your red rank with a rank 15+ in your party you will be put with a killer close to the rank 15 which ruins the game for the killer.
The only way i've found to get around it while playing killer is to look at the survivors themselves in the lobby and if I see 2nd or 3rd prestige skins I leave the lobby and search for another one. I know cosmetics aint a sure way of knowing somones skill level but seen as they no longer have player ranks above the players in lobbys anymore thats the next best way of guessing skill/ experienced players. This obvioulsy doesnt work with purchased survivor skins as theres no way to tell if there prestiged or not. An easy way for the devs to fix the SWF issue this game has is to matchmake from the lowest ranked killer within the party.
e.g if there is a party with a rank 2,8,18 the matchmaking will look for a killer for the rank 2 not the rank 18.
I understand this makes it harder for the newer player but if the rank 2 got to that rank from actually being good at the game then they will be able to take hits and pull the killer away from the higher ranked player.
Id also happily have longer wait times as a killer and actually enjoy myself in the game then find a match in less then a minute and be butt [BAD WORD] for the next 5-10mins.
Im just hoping this new mmr matchmaking actually works as the way it currently is will just make them lose players rather then gain them as no one will want to spend the time to learn to play if there constanly getting destroyed by [BAD WORD] matchmaking.
Player base has gone to #########, the only people playing are seasoned low ranks and newbies trying to figure ######### out. I have run into very few games with green peeps, almost always one rank 1-3 survivor a rank 1-3 killer and greys filling out the rest. Not enough mid tier players stuck around due to problems just like this. Giving up on getting higher rank because it A. Literally means nothing incentive wise and B. Means nothing as to team composition. The game isn't fun without a goal outside of static gameplay. It gets stale quickly once you realize this. Devs just dgaf I assume they've moved on to more engaging projects and this has become the side project hobby.

this isn't a buff, it's a compensation for survivors when the killer uses this perk. It doesn't need this.
BBQ is just ridiculous on any killer, easily abused with very little counterplay. "just get in a locker" assuming one is nearby. "Gen blocking" also assuming a gen is nearby or that the killer is hooking someone with gen aura line of sight. It's OP, the bp alone make it worth please DEV's put the bp buff on another perk that isn't already a staple in most killers kits.

Crouch plus flashlight gg hag traps lol but i get what you're saying. I just got into this game a couple months ago and it looks like its DOA for me.

Climbing ranks personally is not difficult in the slightest. But for arguments sake, camping is a strategy even if a bad one. Take hag, she spends the entire half the game optimally locking down three gens and killing players off hook. In fact, that is the best strategy for a hag.
Is it bs? Sure. But how can they punish it? Honestly camping one player punishes the killer greatly in my games.
I main hag when i play killer, and for the most part hag and her built in mechanics are one thing but something that any killer can take advantage of every match (whether they do or not) punishes the survivor on hook. Hag strategy allows players a chance to run, chase, unhook etc. This strategy screws everyone over in terms of pip gains, bp gains and enjoyment of the game.

Blame the game not the killer. He admitted defeat. Now your team can easily win and go fight a killer worth your time.
And for the record I am blaming the game for not balancing this out. Killers lose what 10-20 points for "proximity to hooked survivor" shouldnt survivors be compensated similarly?

Still climbing up ranks is hard enough after a certain point without the hidden punishment of an unsportsman like "valid" strategy. Survivors should get a bonus to points for proximity to killer while on hook. "Staring Death in the Face" or something.

There are many things in the game that cause me to go ugh out of frustration, but at the top of the list is getting to face Sir Fredrick decked out with every progression slowdown perk and add-on twice in a row.
What makes you go ugh?
All survivors rushing a newly hooked survivor, facecamping, people not working on gens while killer is obviously occupied, toolboxes being almost null at this point UNLESS you have a team running them, certain synergy killer perks, nurses calling, bbq, etc. I could go on...
