Ok... So DBD2 (Starts imagining)
-Brain overloads-
"To much to be said"
-
No I don't think so... at least on paper
Getting Haste by being in Deep Wound make more sense then just by being injured
Plus it makes even more sense to have Haste while in DW... to get away from the Killer faster and Mend
-
I don't think that happens a lot, maybe 1-2/10 matches... But I haven't played in 6 months
Don't get frustrated over that... just learn from it...
Take your feelings out of it... if anything record your matches and watch them over after playing... see anything that you can improve on... perks or playstyle
Try playing a Killer and not doing anything but chase...
Or play Observer Wraith:
Fire Up- For faster actions the more Gens are done (or any other perk)
Discordance- To see when Survivors group up on Gens
TOTH- To see how many Totems you have
Whispers- To know when you are close to another Survivor
Addons- Cloak Speed and action speed (I can't remember the names of them)... or none or whatever you want
Playstyle:
Just watch what the Survivors are doing... don't come out of Cloak... you can fake it
Then sit back and see what happens
-
I mean most of her addons are about the Turrets
-
Ok so I looked it up... To me (IMO) It's like Detective's Hunch but with Totems instead of Gens
Seeing all of the auras of placed things... Gens, Hooks, Chests can be good
Pair it with Detective's Hunch and it'll be more information then needed... LOL

Nope that is counterforce
Oh ok... So I have no idea what the perks does without looking it up... LOL

I would like to hear your opinion.
Increase the base Gen Regression from .25 to .35 or .45 (I would say to .50 but that may be too much)
Increase the Gen times to 100 charges... but give checkpoints at 25%, 50%, 75% so that the Gen can't regress past that (without Pop I guess)
And take the Information part of COB and put it on Surveillance
OC can stay the same... or add in what @Caiman suggested
-
If I remember right...
Clairvoyance is a perk that speeds up Totem cleansing and shows you where the farthest Totem is... right
There's 2 things...
1) Totems aren't that important right now
2) Also that it's a niche perk... so running a Generalist type of build doesn't go so well if you add in this perk
-

Thank you for your answer! I appreciate that.
Not a problem... I also have my own opinions on regression in general

How fast is 150% gen regression is comparing to normal gen kick regression without any perks? @Caiman
I know you want someone else to answer this for you but here it is
Normal Gen regression is .25 charges per second... 150% of that would be .375 charges per second
So instead of taking 4 seconds to take away 1 charge it'll take 3 seconds to take away 1 charge
-
If they take anything from the new movie it wouldn't make much sense
But they could have the Venus Fly-Trap from SAW 2
Or could have extra Hook spawns that look like Other Traps from any movie
But coding them to work would be the hard part
-
Ok... so just give it time... They can't just make changes for the sake of making changes (cause one side V other side)
They have to make changes that will impact the game (however it happens)
Also they have to be more diligent about what changes they make... Just see all of the other forum topics
Even though we need more patches like 6.1.0 this is what we get after those
-
I mean... Kicking Gens isn't done that much now a days
Survivors back in the day was more about hiding rather then wanting to be chased... players had to learn the maps, perks and Killer powers
-
I've had a few... either as a Survivor or a Killer
I do find it funny though... some dreams happened in the games maps but others happened in IRL places

Can a killer who is good mechanically win without game sense? Aren't we going back to my point that being both mechanically skilled and having game sense make up what people call "skill"?
For survivors I understand there are less ways these days to express their skills, but isn't hitting clutch flashlights as well as flashbangs count as skillful, cause you also need game sense and a lot of knowledge of the map to do those things successfully. Or the survivor mind gaming the killer shows skill, cause it's about making a lot of small decisions in the span of a few seconds? I'm not against survivors having more mechanical prerequisites (although I'd claim that playing survivor on keyboard is more mechanically demanding as opposed to a controllerbut allows you more possibilities) but I think BHVR doesn't wanna give survivors such tools either because they want survivor gameplay to be highly accessible or to avoid having survivors who can solo carry games but outperforming everyone.
At this point yes we are... LOL
I have pretty decent gamesense but worse mechanical skill (I am my own worst critic)
I think we are agreeing but from different perspectives
Also the fact that this game is just different overall... or is that just me
-
If they did a ranked mode it'll probably be worse then what we have now
But if they did a Team Rating it might be better
Also it might lead people to come back and play if they did
If the game has turned into "meta" V "meta" how can it be casual?

Are you really gonna call a team who brought 4 BNPs and speedran the game skillful?
What is skillful play to you?
Is a survivor who can do gens but lasts only 10 seconds in a chase skillful? How can you evaluate their skill expression when the only time you interact with them they fumble?
I also said that when people refer to skill they mean a combination of both mechanical skill and game sense, it's also why we say Blight and Nurse have a high skill floor and skill ceiling, cause they require mechanical skill to play well. And killers like Trapper are considered not as difficult in comparison when it comes to mechanical skill. Am I saying something revolutionary here or is it only revolutionary for DBD's standards?
Not really... it matter more about how they use the BNP's and which Gens they get done (like the order of Gens)
IDK at this point... I feel like Gamesense matters more then mechanical skill
Again if they don't have much experience in chase then of course they won't last long (like me)
No you're not but on one hand playing Survivor is more on gamesense and Killer it's more on mechanical skill... IDK though this is just my opinion

I mean is doing gens really skillful? Unless you're up against impossible skillcheck doctor I don't think it is mechanically difficult. It's also why killers dislike stealthy survivors who bring 4 toolboxes cause you cannot gauge their skill-level but they still win by bypassing the interaction with killer.
Having game knowledge on what gens to prioritize etc. is a different thing, but that doesn't necessarily translate to mechanical skill. That's what people mean when they talk about skill, mechanical skill coupled with game sense.
So... mechanical skill is more important them gamesense???
This is just too much... thanks for the insight
-
Oh... a good one here...
Ummmm Whispers would be my pick
Since it's already a general perk all Killer's have access to it
Whispers is a perk that works for being close to Survivors... one will hear the Entity whisper "yes" or "no"
Yes- if you are looking at a Survivor (either in LOS or behind a wall)
No- if you aren't looking at a Survivor
Or you'd hear a grumbling once it actives and it happens every so often
-
It seems like OP is letting their biases get the better of them...
Whispers- was updated in patch 1.0.5... but other then that it wasn't touched
Deerstalker- last update was 2.6.3
Autodidact- hasn't been changed at all
Resilience- hasn't been changed at all

Completely destroying the game for killers, since for 4 minutes you can complete all gens by 3 man team without need to unhook person at all, until gates are opened.
If it was simple? Anticamp system which they just did is one of MY suggestions, this idea is 1+ year old and it took that much time for them just to do it.
Ok... but if the Killer doesn't Camp then it wouldn't matter
-
If it was simple they would've done it
I would've suggested increasing the hook timer to 4 minutes
But it's more of BHVR actually doing something
-
Tunneling and Camping... being considered not skillful... is like saying doing Gens and being in chase isn't skillful
Knowing when is a lot more skillful then just doing it... like just fixing Gens isn't the same as spreading out the Gens
Or saving BNP for the later Gens VS. using it on the first Gen... Or Pre-dropping pallets VS. Greeding pallets
Or leaving the area when you the heartbeat or staying around to see if the Killer does come
There's a lot to say... but saying Camping and Tunneling isn't skillful is just ridiculous
-
IDK about worst per variety... There are good perks for all situations
Aura Reading... leads to chases
Chase perks... leads to downs and hooks
Gen defense perks.... leads to longer matches (for the most part)
Anti-healing... easier downs and hooks
So it's more like general perk builds do better then 4 similar perks
-
Or they could add a team ratings...
-
So this is going to be hard to explain... I might get off topic (Just a forewarning)
What we have now is more like unranked then anything... but what we had before could be better then what we have now
Also we know how to raise our MMR
So I'm suggesting to add more onto MMR (Gens and Hook states only)
Adding in Grades into MM... and having that be what everyone sees (also to see if that changes anything... probably not but)
What we have now is just a shell of itself toned down and broken
-
@jesterkind said:

Wouldn't the mode they add by definition be the ranked one, and the one we have now the unranked one?
We don't have ranked mode stuff in the game at the moment, so they'd have to add all that in.
IMO what we have is a mix of both ranked and unranked... so basically I'm saying to split it up
-
Make a better ranked mode and make an unranked mode
I know that it's 2 things but they are similar enough
-
It's more and more people's take on "winning" the game
MMR only taking Kills and Escapes...Grades not mattering like at all
Gens taking 90 charges to complete... healing taking 24 charges... hooks take 120 seconds to Kill Survivors... Slugging takes 4 minutes
Gens and Hook states need to be added to MMR... Chases would be to hard to grade
-
But her slowdown can cause Survivors to 99% multiple Gens then as soon as the Survivor gets the Trap off they pop them or they will pop multiple Gens before the Trap comes off... cause of having 2 minutes to find and take off the Trap... or maybe the Survivor checked 2 boxes and the other Survivors see this and then pop the Gen only for the Survivor to get the Trap off on the next box
There's a lot to unpack when it comes to her Traps... to get a head pop it's more on the Survivor(s) misplaying her Traps and Gens
-
The reason for the roar is to allow counterplay...
If they removed it then Survivors will complain about not being able to dodge her ambush... just like other Killers
But if they moved it to the middle or end of her charge... it could be better or worse
And The RBT's are RNG ridden... and that's part of the struggle
-
The state of the game is a bit unbalanced
Perks are either strong or weak... barely any that are in the middle
Maps are either Killer favored or Survivor favored... barely any that are in the middle
-
It's just what others have said... and yes they are splitting hairs cause that's what they needed to do
-
Claudette- Healer
Dwight- Gen Jockey
David- Runner
Meg- Runner
Fang Min- Gen Jockey
Jane- General player (I guess)
Mikayla- Booner (I have nothing more to say)
ETC... I could come up with a role for all Survivors but I can't tell who'd be played the most
-
So...
Bad: Jake, David, Adam
Good: Fang Min and Dwight
It's a mixed bag... cause I don't play Survivor much
-
MMR needs to include a Team rating for one thing
Another thing is to add more things that can be tracked for MMR
-
It's meant to deter FACEcamping not Proxy Camping
Also if there's another Survivor close by then why would it fill faster
Also if another Survivor is in chase nearby then why would it fill faster
-

Absolutely comedic people are blaming RNG. Killer is very rough right now. It is so true when you say you had the worst feeling in video games. If you lose badly (or at all tbh) Survivors 9/10 will draw it out and antagonize you. You are supposed to be Michael Myers (or insert other iconic killer) and instead are treated like a joke with very little recourse.
Yes... cause RNG is still a thing
RNG is what makes the Maps what they are... Loops, Totems, Gens, Spawns
RNG is what causes Corrupt to not block three Gens that are far enough away

again, i wasnt saying dead people arent or cant be in the game, its jsut a reason i thought they might not have added them in for lol
i would love an update or sequel to this chapter honestly :D
I'd prefer both... an update to the Pig and a sequel (IDK what the Killer should be called)
-
Detective Tapp dies in the first SAW movie... so saying that dead people can't be in the game is not true
Having John in the game can be a thing... and I can't wait for it
DR. Gordon is an interesting character to propose...
Detective Hoffman is another interesting character to propose...
There's a lot of characters to pick from from both sides (Killer and Survivor)
-
So is it more about specifics rather then general or is it more about general then specifics
Cause I'm thinking that it's both
-
30- 90 seconds
Any shorter then it wasn't much of a chase
Any longer and Killer will start to Camp and Tunnel
-
So Killer's aren't allowed to kick Gens... with 2.5% instant lost and .25 charges per second
And Survivors aren't allowed to do Gens when they have nothing better to do... with 1.0-2.1 charges per second
What are Killer's supposed to do... not kick Gens when they see one with progress
What are Survivors supposed to do... run a lap around the map then do a Gen
-
They also need to revamp the Shrine Of Secrets
Maybe offer up all of the Perks with 4 (2 Killer and 2 Survivor) Perks on a discount
-
I mean... there are things that DBD that other games do have... but there's a bigger difference
Learning Maps (most games have that)
Learning perks (most games have that)
Learning characters (some games have that)
Learning that DBD is a 4V1 (less games have that)
DBD has to balance a lot more then most other games... Perks, Maps, RNG, Characters (Killers mostly)
-
Well For Killer... IDK... Gen Observer
I run: Oppression, Surveillance, Corrupt and Whispers
With differences for the Killer I play
And for Survivor... IDK
I run: Stakeout, Leader, Kindred and I can't remember the last perk... LOL
I still haven't figured out what perks I can run
-

The checkpoints are an interesting idea, I wonder how that could work in game.
Not as good as both of us are thinking... RIP
-
I really want to buff Pig... but reading what you have put I'm not going to do that
Unpopular Opinions....
Decrease EGC timer... or close the gate with 10 seconds left
Increase Gen Charges to 100 but have checkpoints at 25%, 50% and 75%... also maybe having the Survivors add a part or gas to the Gens... make Toolboxes make checkpoints that can't be regressed but doesn't add any progress
Decrease Gen charges to 80 but nerf Gen efficiency for Survivors

Perks:
Survivor:
Fleet footed. Dodging any attack grants you 200% haste for 1 second. No cooldown or exhaustion shutdown, infinite use.
Benevolence. When unhooking other survivors, they gain 150% haste for 3 seconds.
Killer:
Deific Bond. Kicking a gen blocks it for 30s. 45 second cooldown, starts after the 30s. triggering it while its still active deactivates the previous instance.
trickster map.
scooby doo chapter
Nice...
I like those perk ideas

@Rebecca1InTheChamber said:
30 more seconds to gens (adding 10 seconds was a joke)
Actually make the maps less safe instead of just moving the god pallets from where there were to somewhere else
No more toolbox repair for gens
Adding in 30 seconds isn't what they did... they just increased the charges to complete the Gens from 80 to 90 without looking at the efficiency the Survivors had... so if you wanted to you could add 30 more charges to complete a Gen but get ready for Survivor players to grab their pitchforks... also changing the regression perks added to it
So why not just make the Gens have 100 Charges to complete while looking at the efficiency that Survivors have... and/or maybe Toolboxes lead to a progress that can't be regressed (I can't word it the way I am thinking of it)
