I see the problem but the solution isn't there
If you know that a Gen is 99% then you have to change how you play the game at that point
-
It's more so on the experience of those involved
Newbies: Might see the Killer having an advantage all match
Experienced: Might see the Killer having an advantage at the start to mid game
Veteran: Might see the Killer having an advantage at the mid game to end game
Also it depends on luck for what perks the Newbie gets as to where the Experienced and veteran players don't necessarily need the luck
And Maps still play a factor in all of this
-
So you are asking for a Status effect of your aura being shown???

Oppression counts as 1 regression event on the generator you kick. It does not count as a regression event for the other 3 generators it affects (regardless of whether it leads to regression or a skill check).
Ok thanks for answering
-
I mean… having up to 3 Gens start regressing (plus facing a difficult skillcheck if a Survivor(s) are on a Gen… causes a lot of pressure so 45 seconds may be to short of a cooldown
Thrilling Tremors lasts for 16 seconds then goes on a 60 second cooldown… maybe lowering the cooldown might work increasing it's usage
By the way does Oppression use 1 of the 8 Gen regressions???
-
For me…
Being called as Tunneler when I didn't Tunnel… but in that I do notice that I do have tunnel vision onto a Survivor (chase a Survivor for to long)
MMR being what it is… I know that it's a shared and overused statement but it's true
-
But she could get the Survivor before making it to the loop…
Or she could force the survivor to take a wider turn forcing them to either throw the pallet early…
-
This might not fit but… If my memory serves me at all
Killer-
Hex: Huntress Lullaby (the old version)
Hex: Ruin (the old version)
BBQ
Whispers
Survivor-
I kinda like what I'm running now
Lightwieght
Leader
Botany Knowledge
Kindred
-
My first Survivor match was against the Unknown… so 1 for 1

I disagree with the idea that DBD is turning competitive, to be honest.
The competitive scenario is external, relatively small, and it is thankfully not taken into consideration when it comes to balancing the game.
It is there just to put on a show.
But that's how it starts though
Just look at Overwatch and how that turned out
-
This game is turning into a competitive game
Certain things didn't matter before now they are the biggest things
What they need to do is have a Perkless gamemode and keep it… right now they have a competitive light mode and a party mode (KYF)
Again they need to have an unranked mode a ranked mode and a party mode… that might bring back players and give newer players a chance to learn the game
-
It sounds like there will be no answer:
Cause you picked out specific Killers…
And then you say what happens when you play Killer… thus answering your question
Killers want to slow down the game so they can get a couple kills… and Survivors don't want to give anything to the Killer
Players say that they like chases but then they don't like Tunneling…
Other players won't chase another that wants to be chased…
In the end… Maps have a lot to do with how the game plays out
And MMR… us players want to be the best so we put ourselves on pedestals
How long is a balanced game… 12-14 minutes???
Tunneling and Gen efficiency seems to be the biggest issues on top of Maps
-
"The killer buff of the regression system added not 5% but 2.5% since there was already 2.5% regression whenever kicking …
The average level of play is increasing very fast …"
So it's 5% overall now?
-
There's a lot that an be said…
It's Gen progression VS. Gen regression… the whole 1.0-2.2 charges per second VS. .25 charges per second at base (I know that Killer's get an extra 5% (maybe more now) and only having 8 Gen regression actions per Gen
It's Maps…. them being seeded offers more variation but comes at the cost of them being RNG dependent
It's perks, Items and addons mistuning
It's having to deal with 5 90 charge Gens either close together or far apart…
-
The thing about "shift W" is that there is some logic behind it
Getting away from unfinished Gens
Getting to a stronger Loop
Getting the Killers attention for a chase
Remember that Survivors have the advantage at the start of chase

No, I'm talking about the majority of the playerbase.
You don't have time to hunt down, potentially, five totems whilst the Killer is either tunneling or stacking slowdowns.
To even say otherwise is nuts. Even at high skill matches, it's going to be INSANE if you don't know what totem you need to cleanse. Could you imagine Devour Hope in that sort of lobby? You'd have to assume it's in every match because as soon as you figure it out the match is already over.
I hate to do this…
But having to find, chase, down and hook 4 survivors 3 times while the Survivors have Gen progression perks, Toolboxes and Second Chance Perks
To say otherwise is nuts
-
I mean… if Totems were hidden better Hexes (and Boons) would be better outright
But some of the effects are bad for what they are worth
Like why does Ruin deactivate apon killing a Survivor… and only doing 100%
-
Tunneling has a lot more depth
Changing perks isn't going to make Tunneling less of an issue... plus making DS better will have more Survivors running that Perk meaning it'll get another change sooner or later
And Survivors running toward the Killer after being unhooked
Gens take 90 or less seconds to finish (so it's not Gens)... but the fact that 2-3 of them an be done by the time the Killer gets 1 hook... creates more pressure on the Killer and some players can deal with that while others can't
Let's not forget MMR is a thing and it only counts Kill and Escapes nothing more and nothing less
-
Even if they do have more side objectives it won't change the fact that this game is more about MMR over fun
-
I would say that seeing others loadouts would be better then giving more perks basekit
-
I don't have a favorite map... sad to say
-
Whispers
Activates when the Killer is within 32m of a Survivor and the Killers get a whisper yes or no when looking at a Survivor
-
It's the fact that for whatever reason the Devs felt the need to make this game all about Kills and Escapes
MMR= Kills and Escapes
Camping and Tunneling is all about getting Kills and quickly
Gen Efficiency makes Gens take 90 seconds or less
It's both sides not just one... just saying

To be fair, 3 of those perks are off meta so I would call that a variety build.
Not when I run them on all of my Killers
-
Give and take... some are and some aren't
-
For me personally... I don't care about prestige
-
"meta" burden... that's what I'm calling it
But you do have a point... I run Corrupt, Oppression, Surveillance and whispers on most Killers
-
1) Deadlock doesn't stop Gens from being done only delays it... also what if the Survivors have another Gen close to the one that gets blocked
2) Unbreakable and Head-On aren't toxic... Slugging is seen as toxic and Unbreakable helps against that, and Head-On can be looked at the same way
3) Anti-tunnel perks exist for a reason...
4) A basekit Mori sounds interesting
5) That's a bit of a stretch 90 seconds is long enough... Lets hold off on making Gens take longer and look at all of the ways Gens get done and how long it takes in each case... also looking at Gen regression and all of their ways and how long it takes
6) Adding in Gate regression would help but making Gate opening take longer is to much
7) Isn't there a perk for it???
8) No it should not
9) Maybe... but then all 6 would be safe pallets... Maps are an issue but it isn't size
10) Maybe... but we would have to try it out first
11) That would make a good perk
12) I can understand that... but We would have to try it out first
-
It was Old Hex: Ruin, Hex: Huntress Lullaby, BBQ and Whispers... playing Pig

Neither does mine.
-
So every Killer released after Pyramid head (and including)???
What about their design makes them bad???
Also there was a Killer that "broke the mold"
-
Adjusting base Gen regression would help a bit... and it would give perks like Oppression more to change
Rather then adding in more Gen regression per kick
-
Combat Straps on Pig
Being able to crouch faster feels really good
-
My most evil build doesn't exist anymore
-
So this is based on Basekit, Maps and Addons
Why is the Pig so low... She has one of the Highest Kill Rates (61%) but one of the least picked Killers (2%)
What's wrong with her if she's thought of as below average???
Her Addons are decent I'll give you that but she's versatile (has a lot of different playstyles)
The "meta" on both sides is and will always be "to help Kill or Escape"... so that shouldn't matter as much
Pig's RBT's are the best slowdown in the game (even against SWF's) but she only gets 4 so using them wisely makes her speed things up
-
Burn out... for the most part
Not wanting to play a game in which Players are (for lack of better word) toxic... Killers playstyle aren't pleasant, Survivors that deal with SoloQ
Nothing new other then Killers and perks that will be nerfed 6 months after release (or the perks aren't worth it)
Lights Out is a fun gamemode but it isn't a permanent gamemode so it's not worth getting attached
-
Killer's aren't in the worst state... that's just an oversight
Compare this to what Killer's had to deal with last year or the year before
We have 30+ Killers that each have their own playstyle
And new survivors skins with new Perks... with the same playstyle (do Gens and leave)
On one hand it's up to the Devs to be ahead of everything but on the other hand we as players need to stop comparing Killers to themselves and Survivors
-
I feel like they should change base Gen regression first
-
Tunneling gens is basically Genrushing isn't
Tunneling is focusing on a single person or Gen
So is it easier to finish a Gen or Kill a Survivor?
Oh and Genrushing kinda sorta leads to 3Genning
Survivor sees Gen, repairs Gen, runs to find the next one
Killer sees Survivor, chases Survivor, downs Survivor, hooks Survivor, runs to find the next one
-
I run Surveillance and Oppression
Those have been staples in most of my Killer builds

Tunneling has only increased since they removed the bonus BP from BBQ, nerfed DS and made MMR a thing
Three horrible changes, three things in need of reversions.
Giving BP its bloodpoint gains back and reverting DS back to 5 seconds would help a lot. Perhaps it won't change the playstyle of every single player out there, but it would put an end to the sheer wave of tunneling we're currently seeing.
And MMR just needs to go, period. It has always caused far more harm than good.
They really do need to start reverting things....
Also they need to start thinking of ways to patch the game without needing 2-3 weeks of people not caring
We also need to have every progression and regression timed out to see if there's anything there that needs to be changed
Oh and just an idea but giving Corrupt 10-15 seconds of extra Gen blocking
-
IF they re-did BP we wouldn't see that much hange...
Tunneling has only increased since they removed the bonus BP from BBQ, nerfed DS and made MMR a thing
And now I'm wondering if I should change my playstyle...
-
It's not either sided
Both sides have things that they have to deal with...
Putting it like that only makes us focused on one side over the other
-

Survivors are focused on gens because there's nothing much else we can do. We can take a hit and whatever but Blight can close the distance gained in one rush and we're left healing for sixteen seconds whilst the chase lasts a tiny bit longer.
But the game is bigger then Blight and Nurse...
How much fun is had when doing the Gens as feat as possible against other Killers
Like 3-4 Gens done and 2-3 hooks (all on different Survivors)
-
Safe to say that there's nothing you an do
and that's the issue... why are Killer's doing this??? Why are Survivors so focused on Gens???
Also safe to say that MMR has something to do with this
Cause we all know that Kills and Escapes are the only things that effect MMR
-
May I twist this... I play more Killer then Survivor
I do play all of the Killer I have... I don't have Singletary or Dredge and Knight (Cause he is blocked from play right now)
But I have had matches that ended up total loses (3 hooks and not much else)
The last time I played... I played Pinhead, Twins, Pig, Oni
Then I lost interest in playing
-
There's too much randomness
SoloQ- you and 4 random people... that mean 12 random perks for Survivors and 4 random perks for the Killer... each with their own "goals" for the match
Maps- Even with Map Offerings the maps are still random (loops and stuff)
-
Anti-loop....
Good ones-
Clown: Has to know when and where to throw his bottles (and when to switch bottles)
Demo: His Anti-loop is an extended lunge
Bubba: His Chainsaw one shots Survivors and that is enough (at least IMO)
Doctor: His Power stops Survivors from Vaulting or Dropping a Pallet for 3 seconds
Artist: Her power is more on information until you get a Survivor with Crows in range
Most other ones are either bad or in the middle
-
5-15 matches
-
Perks have a lot more to do with how the game is then anything....
Cause not running certain Perks means a "win" or a "loss"
-
It's really simple... as already stated
But getting those Objectives is the "hard" parts
Then Perks, Items , Addons and Offerings might take a little longer... but knowing is half the battle
