No more.....stegull?
What am I supposed to do now
-
Little disappointed to see no other changes.
Would've been a great time to revisit the original Stranger Things Chapter and update the perks/addons.

both toolboxes and certain perks need changing. I think its also high time for BHVR to add a base/generic gen regression perk (like a killer variant of deja vu)
but besides toolboxes bhvr rlly should look at hyperfocus+stakeoutNot a great way to nerf those perks without making them totally useless, honestly. Stake Out is already pitiful outside of Hyperfocus builds.

I propose a few General Killer Add Ons Available to all Killers.
The Broken Pistol (Purple Quality) Increase Generator regression by 20% when kicked.
The Sprung Sprocket (Green Quality) Increase GEnerator regression by 10% when Kicked.
The Dented Chasis (Blue Quality) All Gens kicked by the Killer suffer from -10% Repair speed.
ALSO if you are fully Healed DS should deactivate.25% gen regression per kick with no restriction would be psychotic to implement.
Same with a permanent repair rebuffed.

Im sorry but this is an awful take when gen progression has leaped into another multiverse by comparison, maybe if you're against baby survivors who don't know what a generator is. Gen regression perks are generally pretty awful and yet still very commonly taken and that should tell you everything really, that killers are generally short on the one thing they actually need, time. Which they dont have because gens are flying because gen progresion outstrips it.
I would actually like to not feel like i need to bring regression to actually have a somewhat enjoyable game and therefore have more perk variety, however it happens. 90% of perks just might as well not exist for killer tbh.
I have zero clue what you are even on about.
Even when regression was absurdly broken, people just stacked more of it. The idea that Killers, as a whole, will somehow nobly give up gen regression if only it was stronger is laughable.
It'd be like saying if we only brought back OG DS, DH, and MoM, Survivors would only take one of them and nobly not use any of the other three. Of course they would.

So you're saying gen regression is fine as is? I guess you really enjoy watching survivors stroll through a whole match like they’re on a leisurely walk in the park. Meanwhile, killers are left trying to stop a lumbering turtle from finishing 3 gens while the clock’s ticking. Maybe decent spot means "totally fine with the survivor speedrun meta" now?
Yeah, I think it's okay. I think toolboxes could stand to be toned down a little, but I think regression itself is in a good spot. It isn't as overbearing as it used to be, which is good.
I haven't noticed any particular speedrun meta. Maybe I've been lucky, but I doubt it. More likely it's just the same as it's always been. People hyperfixate on their losses and not on their wins.
-
When I heard angelic, I was hoping for fallen angel. Sort of like Cabanel's Lucifer.
I was not hoping for the floating head from Regular Show
-
You'd need to change basically every other regression perk.
Base regression feels alright for what it is, and I think gen regression is in a decent spot right now.

OK - it’s still incredibly rare for either side. Some people want all killer players nerfed because they saw a few YouTube videos of the best killer players in the world going on long winstreaks. On the flip side, some people want all survivors nerfed because of a few bully squads on comms who get easy wins. Both of these opinions are based on non-representative data.
I do think there is a magnitude of difference between some bullies abusing new players and an experienced Killer winning 2000 games in a row while being streamsniped by equally crazy teams.

Do you honestly think it’s easy for any average killer player to go on a “huge non-stop winstreak”? If so, have you ever tried it yourself?
I think it's probably easier for the average Killer than the average Survivor.,

Do they ban for this like maybe if you sandbag (with bodyblocks etc. to help the killer) some other survivor whole game and he recorded that than I think maybe but Idk if small helping to get cheater can get you ban like hard to tell if even some devs arent cheaters at this point because they seem to be most immune people in the game (the cheaters) like to problems with anticheat to bans etc.
From my point of view helping killer to get cheater is a huge risk because you risk as survivor that the cheater will make you stuck in endgame in locker or some action so you are held hostage there with the killer (happened to me as bubba where one meg that didnt do anything to cheater just watched was tped to locker and stuck there while i saw her character model in t pose on the map and we were held hostage because endgame collapse couldnt kill her ( I think they should make that after endgame colapse ends the server will shut down and not to reduce server shutdown from 2 hours to just 1 but that would be wanting too much because this change would fix the cheater holding some survivors and killer hostage I believe), at this point its big problem that is still being ignored and i fear it will casue more harm than hardcore tunneling or 4 man slugging epidemy because of many people who liked to play as gods will find DBD and play with cheats yeah it will be something.
My oppinion is that cheater has no rights and so any action in game (except some rasist slurs and death threats, meaning actions in the match not the chatt ones) are legal like sandbaging them to help the killer to get them but maybe some devs have other oppinions on this which I dont see as good thing especialy in this case with cheaters.
It would be wild to ban someone for impeding a cheater, but simulatenously let them run rampant.

The topic includes "you dont NEED to nerf survivor over and over for absolutely no reason"
Do you honestly think BHVR nerfed survivor over and over for absolutely no reason?
It is an exaggeration, but there's a legitimate complaint in it.
Many of the last year's worth of changes have been brutal for SoloQ, even if it hasn't impacted strength.
-

I still think that what happened in the phase 2 QoL, was the fault of what happened in the phase 1 QoL.
There were SO MANY people that demanded the phase 1 survivor nerfs by as light as possible, and demanded phase 1 never punish survivors unless it was 100% certain the survivor was purposely doing the bad behavior.
We even had survivors sharing video footage of themselves not doing anything useful for long periods of time, getting AFK crows, and yelling "you're punishing me for THIS? I'm just trying to SURVIVE".
Alternatively, they shouldn't have punished people for trying to cleanse totems.
They also shouldn't have punished people for being tunneled out.
Basic stuff like that would've gone a long way.

Its pain for both the survivor escaprs this nightmare fast but he still gets notify for giving up or dc which can give them time penalty and for killer its way worse because there are so many ways they can hold you hostage and force you to dc too which can lead to ban too but now there idnt much you can do against cheaters that cant be hooked and can instantly heal and teleport only hope that they wont be discusting and hold you hostage.
Yeah.
The guy I helped during the Anniversary, a friend from work, just recently had a match against a cheater.
And he got banned because of it.
He said he was trying to help the Killer catch the guy who was noclipping and flying all over the place. Someone reported him for working with the Killer or intentional griefing and he got banned.
Safe to say that didn't make a good impression.

You need to research more into this buddy, there are 3 mmr brackets
There are functionally only two due to how matchmaking actually works.
You have the absolute beginners.
Then you have everyone below the soft-cap.
Then everyone above the soft-cap.
Matchmaking won't let you jump more than one-tier. It is absurdly easy to hit the soft cap. I'd wager 90% of players are at or above it.
The game has a matchmaker; it prioritizes speed over everything else.

by design yeah but if ive learnt anything in my 20 years of life is that "design" barely comes to fruition sadly… (in pvp/asym game design)
Seems to be working fine for them.
Most Killers are at or above 60%, even in their worst matchups.
-
Designed to be Killer-sided. Devs aim for 60/40 towards Killer.
Whether or not that's a good thing is up for debate, but it is objectively Killer-sided by design.

Im sorry to say so then, but you might have too high thoughts of your own skill level or you are still in "baby mmr" with your killers.
MMR isn't a factor. MMR only separates the absolute beginners from the people who have played 10+ hours.
I'm not the greatest player in the world, certainly not now after being "retired" for months and months. But when I was playing consistently, I was comfortably winning the vast majority of my games without slugging or tunneling.

Well, i guess by that logic Sadako and Freddy are broken, because they have over a 60% kill rate. Freddy is even hovering around 70% AND was the deadliest killer way back in first quarter 2025. Does Freddy and Sadako need a nerf then? No
Stats, like I keep saying and keep having to say for some reason (seriously no clue how almost no one on forums can understand this concept) do not mean a thing. You can't just take those stats to heart when you know well that most players aren't playing well or fully taking advantage of what their role has to offer. Just like how BHVR Nerfs perks for example because they're "popular" that doesn't mean it was broken, though it being good could be a factor to its high usage rate.
I would expect you of all people to know this, Pulsar, seeing as you are a veteran player. And maybe a side quest for you too, ask another veteran who still plays the game if it's killer sided or not. I can guarantee you, they're going to laugh at you if you say it is. Sure it's nowhere near as bad as 2016, but its still a long way from fair for majority of the killer Roster.
The word you are looking for is context.
Yes, Freddy and Sadako have those KR's. That's undeniable.
Why do they have those stats? Because they are difficult to follow for newer and intermediate players, which composes the vast majority of the playerbase. It makes perfect sense why they would top the charts over someone like Nurse or Blight.
The game has not been Survivor-sided in a long time. That is objective. To pretend otherwise is to live in a fantasy world because you can't deal with the truth.

Their potencial still is way more reliable than trappers, ghostfaces, skullmerchants or onryos in comparison.
Hag is great against soloq but if the survivors just use one of them to sneak behind the hag and whiper her traps or they have coms than her potencial is super small.
Uknown has great potencial but his small uvx effect time on survivor after first hit is so small that you got like two shots to get that injure from it which means if you can hit 80% of the time two hits in the row with uvx than he is super solid killer but thats not that easy because uvx is slow and easy to evade/doge compare to like huntress hatchet. He still has teleport which makes him better than all other killers you mentioned because his tp is instant and he can use them to shut down loops which is something sadako cant.
Some killers just have very punishing gameplay when you miss with their power but these killers like uknown, artist, slinger have still some power behind their kit compare to weaker killers that are highly punished too like trapper, ghostface and their power is just super weak its like trying to shoot someone with revolver which has loaded 3-4 bullets in cylinder (unknown, aritist) compare to shooting someone with revolver that has just 1 bullet in cylinger loaded (ghostface, trapper, skullmerchant) thats how reliable their powers are because even if you make good play with trapper,SM, ghostface you can still gain very little effect from it to your victory and survivors can just get from it super easily compare to landing good shots with uknow or artist where you gain way more if you play right without making huge mistakes.
I would rather have consistency than potential.
We see that reflected in pick rates. The most consistent Killers are picked often, the buggy and inconsistent Killers are usually left to rol

Killers that have powers that is eassy to counter and the strongest counter to that power or par of it is teamplay than those killers are super bad against swf like killers that have just traps as power or stealth such as trapper, SM, ghostface, hag these killers are super fragile against swf and well coordinated survivors compare to other killers that "hold their power in their hands" like wesker, huntress, slinger.
Thats just truth, for you info on that nurse thing by the kill rates data she would need some if we would balance killers by kill rates which is no longer (thanks all mighty god) a thing.
Accessible != strength.
We can make her more accessible without adjusting her overall power.
-
@Abbzy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4046765#Comment_4046765
So trapper and SM are the worst killers but uknown is bad and verypunishing still he is top of c-tier at worst because he has solid mobility and some range power which can be used to get downs faster actively without set up (set up is in majority bad thing in DBD and killers that need to do it are mostly worst like trapper, sadako, skullmerchant, pig, hag only big exception is larry=singularity but he has teleport which can be used across the whole map and super good chase power build in).
See it or not ghostface is set up killer because you need to build the stalk to 80+ % on each survvior to get fast downs unlike mayers who has need only for his one stalk and not to do 4 stalk meters invidualy like ghostface plus he has build in chase powers like faster breaking speed, vaulting speed +his strike so he has more tools in chase than ghostface who just can be stealtly (wraith, mayers in stalking mode and many other killers can use this or just all with certain perks) and mark survivor that becomes for 60 seconds instadownable (basicaly perk effect like make your choice) and this is reduced by perks like vigil I believe and he doesnt get anything as bonus for marking the survivor (only addons do something like knife sheat leg that gives haste or driving licence) so he has to work hard and build his power and that costs lot of time so it should be logicaly stronger as trade of but it isnt its weak and bad.
trapper, hag, HM, Sadako, SM and Unknown all worse. Still viable, but worse.Personaly I think you downpower uknown here who is just way better than all killers you mentioned here and maybe hag but that depends if its soloq team or swf on coms because sharing informations against killers that are just pure stealth or set traps as their only power is super strong counter and ghostface is worse than hag and unknow by 100% and maybe worse than sadako if the sadako player has good macro like onepumpwillie who can destroy super good teams with condem.
GF is fine and tier lists and rankings are overrated as hell.He is weak and undepowered which are terms I dont think are "fine".
new checklist for uif you like them, they are good.If you like some characters even if they are weak its okay but still I dont think its good thing to be oblivious here and lie to yourself they are ok as they are and thankfully majority of skullmerchant, ghostface, trapper, sadako mains are aware of this unlike pig mains.
Unknown and HM are in the same tier to me. They have potential, but the stars have to align in order to reach it.
-
@Abbzy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4046751#Comment_4046751
Well ghostface still has almost no chance against top tier swf teams where just having very good skill at looping and the power of call outs from coms just counter his stealth compleatly thats why killers like hag are considered to be super bad because their power can be countered and taken away from them very easily, the 90% of ghostface mains (they have way more hours on this killer than other players such as me like 500 hours and more just on ghostface) will tell you he is bad and needs some solid buffs.
All your conclusions come from are kill rates and yes its 60% kill rate the number the devs aim for because its asymetrical horror game (meaning more will die than survive in this genre of games), but than if you backing up with kill rates nurse needs some buffs than and others none or even nerfs like pinhead, sadako, pig which isnt good point for backing up decisions and devs (hopefully) know this nowdays not like in 2017-18 where they nerfed pig because she was just pig and didnt needed any nerfs.
According to many people, none of the Killer roster has a chance against SWF lol
But yes, Nurse could use some accessibility buffs.

There's no good empirical evidence to be used. I am talking strictly from my opinion. If you want empirical evidecne i can give you my survivor win rates and killer win rates, but they mean nothing, just like the stats you are using to suppo.
Even at "High MMR" we see Killers performing well.
This comes from the same stats i assume.
Im not going to argue back and forth. This is my opinion and i think many others share this opinion too. You are free to use your empirical evidence but dont think that it is facts.
This is data gathered by BHVR from hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of matches.
It means slightly more than your data gathered from tens of matches.
Empirical evidence IS the same thing as a fact. There can be context added, but you really can't argue with the official numbers unless you want to say BHVR is just falsifying everything.

You can enjoy using the stats and fitting it to your narrative, but that's all it is. I dont understand why people will say stats dont matter and then in another situation the stats will be brought up anyway.
Survivors have the agency in this game. Most of the time if survivors all die it's due to their own mistakes. Even against A+ tier killers you should have a 2 man escape at least (assuming no massive blunders), which in my opinion is balanced. It's hard to say for every match due to map rng, sometimes the survivors can have easy matches and sometimes not, but this is the general state of the game. The only exceptions are blight and nurse those killers are unbalanced. Nurse too but she's actually punishing to play if you cant play her. Ghoul got figured out, he's good still but not OP imo, and dracula and hillbilly are strong but require significant brain usage, many players cant play them to the full potential.
And where's your empirical evidence?
Even at "High MMR" we see Killers performing well.

Don't we have the stats for that?

It actually explains how even long time players can and do fundamentally misunderstand how the game is and even dont fully understand the rules of the game. This also explains how some long time players struggle (not all but there are some).
Fact is, nothing wrong with playing selfishly, nothing wrong with leaving someone on hook to do gens or escape. And It is certainly not griefing or reportable or bannable to not unhook people. If people are truly under the impression leaving people on hook is griefing then thats their flawed incorrect understanding that they should address.
Me when I leave my teammates on 1st hook so I get hatch.
"I have a 90% escape rate"
Like, self reflect a little bit dude. You absolutely should NOT be leaving people on hook to die so you can do gens. Certainly explains some of the comments I've seen.
This is basically the epitome of the issues with Solo Q. One absurdly selfish teammate who refuses to play normally ruins it for everyone.
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
Issue is killers without map mobility kinda lose by default compared to Nurse/Blight.
That's why only mentioned killers here so far are Ghoul, Billy, Dracula, because they have good map mobility. They can also end their chases quickly.
Main reason is hold W, if you get group of survivors who will prerun you, there is not much you can do about it. That's not the case for mentioned killers, who can quickly catch up.
Honourable mention might be Singularity, mainly if you want to hold 3-gen.Ngl, Nurse's map mobility sucks. She's just completely insane in chases, and that makes up for it. Plus, she's good at closing gaps.
But she's not much faster than standard 115%, iirc.

NightLight has always undershot official stats.
180 games per month is not a good enough sample size to make broad sweeping claims about the game as a whole. The more likely explanation is that whomever is uploading their stats as DS is simply not very good, or is very unlucky.

Serious question. Is there no other killer that can reach nurse/blight levels besides ghoul, hillbilly or 001?
I mean, it sort of depends on the player and what you mean by level.
If you mean average performance, than yes, you can win consistently with anyone.
If you mean potential, then no.
I would say that Vecna and Dracula also come pretty close at their absolute peak. Vecna is just pretty good at everything while not being especially great at anything. Dracula is kind of the same, but with better anti-loop.

Why does Deathslinger have a 42% KR then?
Where does he have that?
Since his nerfs, DS has always been middle of the pack.
-
Ghoul, Billy and as of right now, 001 as well.
Ghoul has an extremely easy first hit, easier than Legion. That already eliminates the effectiveness of a lot of strong perks like Drama and SB. His chase afterwards isn't as strong, but it's definitely not bad. He has good map pressure, good mobility and good tunneling ability.
Billy doesn't get the first hit as easy but a good Billy is scary. You are threatened at basically every loop. He's extremely lethal and hard punishes misplays. He has insane mobility, great map pressure and is easy to force trades with.
001, First, Vecna 2 or Henry. Whatever you wanna call him. 2nd best chase in the game, behind only Nurse. He's got decent mobility and good map pressure. He's not great at camping but he is extremely effective at tunneling.

lol sorry but you are flat out wrong, admitting or encouraging griefing is bannable in these forums….i and many others have openly admitted to not unhooking people, finishing the last gen and leaving. i have never been warned regarding this. It would be crazy to get reported because someone didnt unhook lol thats like reporting someone for not healing another player. As long as i am progressing the game and doing the objective then its fair game. Refusing to unhook and tbagging them isnt doing the objective so that would be griefing but leaving them on hook while i do gens isnt. How many people have left others on hook in end game because of camping basement bubba? your seriously saying thats griefing? not a chance.
i seem to be doing just fine playing by my own and have done for years now.
That explains why you keep defending it.
Leave someone on hook because you wanna rat. Sure.

there is a difference between hiding and griefing v playing solo/selfishly. someone intentionally ruining the game for someone else is griefing. someone doing the objective and not saving people on the hook and decide to walk out the gate is not greifing….its selfish and essentially screwing over the "team" but thats part of the game.
The game is balanced around 4 survivors….4 individual survivors. The game is balanced around 4 individual survivors….the hatch allows 1 person to escape… there are perks designed around benefiting 1 player at the cost of others such as sole survivor. like i said, MMR, BP, the end match screen is all individual based. Even the objectives can differ per person….escape, escape via hatch, cleanse totems, get a stun. The fact there is no comms to coordinate as a team, There is no team wins or team loses. There is very few things that point to a team.
4 survivors playing on their own will not beat any competent Killer. 4 Survivors playing their own objectives do not beat good Killers. The game is team oriented.
Refusing to unhook or participate in normal gameplay is griefing.

i dont think rat players need addressing. Its part of the game that some people can play for themselves. as long as they dont grief or avoid the objective then its all good. As far as boosting win rates by screwing over the team….there is no team. The game is not scored as a team, blood points are not awarded as a team, win rates are not scored as a team. I think if people are expecting a solid team effort from everyone on the team and naively think that everyone is on the same page when half the team might be working on challenges like hatch escape or adepts then thats the fault of the player that believes its a team when its not.
Rat players should absolutely be addressed. They are absolutely ruining the game by hiding and griefing their teammates.
The game is balanced around 4 Survivors. If it isn't a team game, make it balanced around all Survivors individually.
I can't think of any reason to defend them. I'm sure you can't either, since you seem to be experienced enough to know them well.

i said:
sure but you cant recognise how a player plays based on the character they play or what platform they play on. some people hide their names so they can grief players in matches….some might hide their name to avoid toxic comments on the profile or from being targeted by a griefer. Ping yes, we should all get to see our ping in the lobby imo.
you then said:
I absolutely can. I had to be able to recognize names and dip out of lobbies quickly, way back when.
And I think DBD should have an avoid system, like Overwatch does. The less rats who hid for Hatch and let their teammates die, the better imo. Eventually, they simply won't be able to play.
So when you said you absolutely can…How? how do you recognise how a player plays based on the character they play or what platform they play on. This is what you said you absolutely can about. i didnt say anything about avoiding player names. Having an avoid system is a different topic, and judging from how the general player base can be, literally everyone would be avoided by everyone and no one would ever get a match.
"

It is called being on Xbox. It doesn't matter if you are on Anon Mode or not, you can still be seen. There are/were people who would boot me offline if they saw me in their lobby using various tools. I had to be quicker than them, if I left before they saw me, I get to keep my internet on. If I did not, no internet for the next few hours.
How do you propose we address rat players then? People shouldn't be able to hide and boost their winrates by screwing over their team.

can you explain how you tell if a sable player is a rat or not in the lobby?
I didn't say it was a Sable?
I said I wanted an avoid system to avoid those players. Hopefully, if enough people avoid players who leave their teammates to die so they can escape, we will have less of those players.

indeed and there are a few that take it a step further…
"no item" dodge
"not on the same platform" dodge
"sable" dodge
"standard dwight" dodge
Ping is an extremely valid reason to dodge.
As is recognizing how a person plays and choosing to not subject yourself to it.

She had a lot of players because she was very strong. Easier than Nurse with a slightly weaker power that required nearly zero skill to use effectively. The power also rewarded camping and tunneling off hook.
Now that she's weaker, people have realized she was never fun. They just liked the power fantasy.
