No it's not. Patrolling the gens is not bannable. You sound like the killers who think "looping" is an exploit.
Pretty sure they confirmed that it IS considered holding the game hostage, so....
-
I suspect we will all wait and see what the results actually are before making any changes.
-
Legion and Pinhead for sure. Never had an enjoyable experience against them. They suck to play against lol
-
Probably a shorter Entity block.
-
Probably the one in 2018 where a guy glitched on top of a hay bale on Coldwind and stayed there for way too long.
I don't remember exactly how long anymore but I think it was more than 12 hours.
Or that one with a Claudette who bugged herself out during EGC, couldn't die and refused to leave because "I don't leave for toxic"

Yeah that's the annoying thing. Too much of a survivor's grade and BP comes from escaping.
Like...I understand why it is, but I'll often give a killer a kill if I know I pipped and they had a really crap game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3316396#Comment_3316396
Eh...to me it's showing respect. Like 'yeah, you got completely boned by this map but you played well, so I'll at least make sure you safety pip'.
Like I said, I'd appreciate the gesture. However, at this point in my DBD career, I have very high standards.
I'd rather take the L
-
Never.
I would appreciate the gesture, but I wouldn't accept it. If I didn't get any Kills, I didn't deserve them.
-
I don't often see the five gen chase part, but I do see Bubba's get run for a bit and then decide to facecamp immediately.
They usually win too
-
I would like to see the Killer' ping in the lobby. There's no reason not to do this.
If I could avoid playing against people with 200 ms ping, I would.

Every day :(

And what does that mean? I win the vast majority of my games using slowdown and camping. If it gets me to 4k, who cares how I do it? This idea that you need to win a certain way reeks of entitlement and arrogance.
Considering that I do the same....
Would it not be better if you didn't need to do that? Wouldn't it be better if the game was more fun for everyone?
-
Doesn't mean that people UNDER the cap don't get matched with those people on a regular basis.

and survivors doesn't needed the free bt (especially since people use it for other things instead of escaping from the killer) plus 2nd chances on 2nd chances stacked (dead hard, off the record, ds, unbrekable, adrenaline and addons such as styptic agents and anti hemorrage syringes) plus perks for speed up generators (prove thyself, hyperfocus, resilience, build to last when paired with toolboxes) but yet here we are... If you want to remove the unfun things that one side bring then you should the same for the other, period.
DS is garbage.
OTR and DH can't really be used well together.
UB is okay but nothing great.
Adrenaline is good.
PT is bad.
Hyperfocus is good.
Resilence is good.
BTL is okay.
I would like to amend my statement. You don't need four slowdowns if you are fairly skilled.

Probably for the same reason that you can play Starstruck Nurse on Midwich and bleed everyone out.
Which is....uh.....they haven't gotten around to it?

Yeah lets take away the only thing, which makes some more killers valuable! I can't wait to get even more genrushed, just because survs can't handle these perks. I play surv and killer and even in solo q its possible to counter eruption. if i see the obsession getting hurt and which killer we are against, i can kinda guess, when i have to get off the gen. Of course it doesn't work every time, but it is possible to avoid at least a few eruption-hits. Especially with the new HUD, it will be even more counterable, because you'll see when someone is getting chased.
Yeah i know slowdown perks are annoying, but if they nerf them, it will just shrink the variety of killers you go against, because some of them just need it, if you want to compete against good survivors.
And i am sure, the new survivor HUD will raise the efficiency of even a full solo q team.
You don't need four slowdowns.

There are some pretty clear things you can do to flush them out.
If i swing at a pallet and the person on the other side dead hards there is no real denying it anymore
I tend to give the benifit of the doubt to avoid seeing hackers everywhere but auto dead hard is the one subtle hack where you can be pretty certain about

Clearly.
Its a skill issue, I normally stand there and stare at them for long periods. Waiting on the DH.
This time I got excited and swung.
Statistically, it's probably not auto-DH.
Some people really are just that cracked. Likewise, some people really are just that lucky, unfortunately for us.

Unicorn Medallion is goated.

Garden but it probably should be Badham.
I think it's the strongest map in the game for Survivors, generally speaking.

Hmmm.
I do not like remembering what I was doing in 2016. Being cringe, most likely.
-
Ideally, we will have nerfs to quadruple slowdowns as well.

How to avoid tunneling, from a serial tunneler.
Do not play Survivor, you cannot stop me.
I'm mostly meme'ing, but it is true. You can't stop someone from tunneling, unfortunately.

-"Swfs really arent that bad. Its not really that unfair of an advantage that it needs a nerf."
Why are we lying about the strength of SWF?
People in a team using voice coms play better than 4 random players with no communication. You will find no players who play alone and get hundreds of win streaks in a row. You will find SWF teams who escape for hundreds of games in a row.
You will find maybe 10 teams out of the millions of players who can do that.
What's your point? Comp players are better than almost every pub Killer?

DBD has a harsh learning experience. The only advice I can give to you is try to tough it out.

He feels like a very macro heavy Killer.
Macro gameplay is one of the hardest things to master in DBD. He has a high skill cap without actually having a high skill cap power.
Basically, if you play him like Artist, you will probably lose. Play him more like Hag or Trapper.

I just think saying “well if we cripple or weaken survivors at the start killers won’t tunnel as much” is wishful thinking. If you did that to me I’d still turn it into 3v1 and there isn’t anything you could suggest that would somehow cripple me as killer in a 3v1 situation. It’s just too easy to basically win then.
Oh, I could think of plenty to cripple the Killer in an early 3v1.
if gen ≥ 4 then if Survivor dies,
remove 2 closest gens from the trial
Honestly, for me, the harder part is how to weaken Survivors during the 4v1 phase.

@Seraphor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3313856#Comment_3313856
Then why don't all killers tunnel every game?
Tunnelling isn't actually fun for the killer. I don't tunnel unless I'm forced to by survivors offering themselves up to me. I prefer to run perks like Make Your Choice and Gift of Pain, and info perks like BBQ and Thrilling to give me another objective besides the hooked survivor. Those perks are enough to stop me tunnelling. Any perk that gives me a benefit for not eliminating a survivor prematurely would get me to not tunnel at all. Any basekit effect that does the same would also convince me not to tunnel. I don't think I'm an outlier here, most killers want to have fun playing the game, not simply win at any cost.
"I think a better thing to try is to make 3v1's less Killer favored and make 4v1's less Survivor-favored."
Is that not exactly the same thing as rewarding killers for not tunnelling?
Most Killers do tunnel in almost every game, in my experience.
Tunneling may not be fun for the Killer, but it is easy and reliable. That's what casual players are after. What gives me the easiest and most reliable path to victory?
No, it's not quite the same thing as rewarding Killers for not tunneling. It's changing how the game works. It's de-incentivizing tunneling by making the benefit you get from it less. Right now, you get such a huge reward for making the game a 3v1 that it really doesn't matter what you give Killers. Getting someone out ASAP will always be better unless the reward is outrageously OP.
By changing the general balance of the game to be less Survivor-favored in a 4v1, you make those players who feel like they must tunnel a little less likely to tunnel AND you make the Survivors who lost someone almost immediately not instantly lose.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
The line "killers change their strat to tunneling to improve the chances of winning" highlights the issues well enough.
Killers arent able to win equal matched players without such tactics and then even stacked slowdown is needed if you're playing anything but the top killer on a decent map..
I'm not sure why people dont see how certain changes or balances force certain playstyles. Ever since tunneling has been a thing iv been saying you need to reward and encourage players that dont alongside slightly punishing those that do as atm tunneling can often be more beneficial for the killer.
As for the perk changes OTR will replace DS simply because is so much stronger and before the DS nerf the OTR change made it's way to meta just because of it's pure strength as its not just good for a single use.
The meta shake up change killer more imo, while it's still gen defense (needed) its different. Only thing changed on survivor is DS for OTR and base BT so you kinda get a 5th perk now.
I'm not sure what your post is actually aiming for though? DS basekit? Probably be abit much now but I have always said DS could be basekit if the killer got some love to allow them to go for chases over kills, base corrupt and a reward for actually hooking someone new would be a start
The issue is that the reward for not tunneling would have to be MASSIVE in order to stop people from tunneling. Killing someone off ASAP is so so so strong that I don't think there's an incentive that could convince me not to try.
I think a better thing to try is to make 3v1's less Killer favored and make 4v1's less Survivor-favored.
-
I remember when Spies used to just trigger from any bird at any range with no cooldown.
Basically became the best tracking perk in the game for a while, long time ago now, I think.

how low mmr you need to be to catch Eruption? ( except nerse blight )
even in solo q all you do is see a man in chase injured - get of gen - then pops eruption - continue 30 sec gen with prove thyself
new Patch -genrush- hi i see small claws on injured - get of gen - eruption - genrrush- hi i see picked up surv - get of gen - Dead man Switch - genrush - hey its 3 gens done on first hook - delete game
Not really that simple.
You do not always know that a gen has been kicked. You also do not know when someone is going to go down, so if you're suggesting to get off gens whenever someone is injured, yikes.
Also, Prove Thyself isn't good. It saves like 7 seconds on a gen. The only time a PT gen will take 30 seconds is if 3 or 4 Survivors are on it, which is really really good for you as Killer, you want that.

@StarLost said:
Nyerr...tumpty tumpty (and other non-committal noises) - here's the thing. (Long answer incoming).
- BHVR buffs gens by 10 seconds.
- BHVR nerfs the majority of regression perks.
Okay, makes sense.
However:
- BHVR buffs faster gen perks (or leaves strong ones untouched).
- BHVR adds in very strong gen perks. PTS/Hyperfocus/Stakeout are the big 3.
Now they've basically undone what they were trying to accomplish, and killers have to stack more regression/rely on the only regression perks that weren't destroyed.
Beyond this...meta here is a toxic ouroboros.
A squad of survivors come in with a 'win no matter what' mindset, doing everything they can to get a 4o. A killer comes in for a fun, chill game - runs into that squad, gets two hooks with all the gens being done in about 4 minutes and told to uninstall in postgame.
So that killer goes 'yeah, sod this', loads up their strongest perks and addons - then runs into a group of survivors looking for a fun chill game, 4ks them at 4 gens and they get annoyed. So that squad switches to HSFP and pummels their next killer, and because they feel justified in 'punishing' killers, they are jerks to her on top of it.
On and on it goes.
Now - watching some of the recent tournament games, you can see how - in lab conditions - killers need to tunnel, slug, camp and use every single tool at their disposal...often to get at most 1-2 kills on a pretty killer sided map. That's how strong SWF is at the redline.
When you run into a strong SWF, this game can feel completely unwinnable unless you play equally sweaty yourself. So you go sweaty from the start, because if you don't - and you are facing a strong SWF - you're going to lose and get gloated at. And by the time you realize that it's actually a bunch of solos, you've already got 2 DCs.
Genrush isn't a response to tunneling. Tunneling isn't a response to genrush. All of these 'sweaty' strats are generally a response to running into a few nasty opponents, getting BM'd and deciding that you're going to try and stop that from happening again.
But...
I do lean somewhat towards sympathizing with killers, because there's a definite double standard here. For some reason, it's completely acceptable for survivors to do anything to win (and be nasty after), but a killer going all out - that's somehow a problem.
Best example: mercy. There is a clear expectation for killers to show mercy to the final survivor, and if they don't they're going to get cussed out and called sweaty. But there's zero expectation of a team giving a killer a mercy kill to stop them from depipping.
Ditto - BM. I've been putting together some numbers, and - even factoring in the 4v1 nature of the game, it's maybe 8x as likely for a survivor to teabag and sit in the exit gates to gloat than, say, a killer hitting the last person on hook.
Similarly, I see a killer bail in less than 1/20 of games.
I see a survivor AFK/suicide/DC in almost 1/3 of games (I think that right now I've got it at 32% of games, which is *stupid*) - and that's with me playing incredibly fair and bringing flans or streamers.
There's clearly a psychology at play here that's different between the two sides.
Well, here's the thing with your stats, you aren't all 4 Survivors.
The Killer could very well be head-shaking or nodding at other Survivors and you'd have no way to know.
Likewise, that ratio you have is actually pretty good. You see 4x as many Survivors as you do Killers, so that tracks pretty well.
Also, Ruin and PGTW got nerfed, but PR got left the same and Eruption and Overcharge got buffed. I'd say that's a net neutral change for gen regression.

If it was not true they would have said so here on the forum. It's said everywhere about Bubba they would have stopped this already if it was just a rumor.
That's very untrue as there have been multiple leaks in the past which they have not spoken out against despite them not being true.
-
It's not crazy nor do I think it's wrong.
Both sides basically need to come out playing sweaty if they want a good shot to win. You just don't know who you're up against and playing chill will almost always get you a quick loss. I believe I was speaking to @StarLost earlier today about just this.
Both the gen time increase and the DS nerf have encouraged more gen rushing, which has sped up games. At the same time, Killers started to tunnel more since DS is no longer meta, which even further incentivizes the gen rush style, which then encourages more tunneling. It's a viscous cycle
-
It isn't confirmed that Bubba is being removed, yet. I'd wait for official confirmation.
As for the Bone Chill event, the EU servers (I heard London) was doing some weird stuff and it ruined stuff for at least a week.
-
No clue.
They still can't get it to run well, so I'd assume it's releated.

Sure.
But the thing is - I don't go into games wanting to tunnel, camp, slug or play massively sweaty. I've been doing the same thing I did last Christmas actually (gathering some data for a...thing I'm putting together).
I suppose I could start tunneling once I realize what's going on - but by then, I'm 1 hook in at 1 gen left, and it's too late.
What honestly scares me more is I can think of ways to make this gimmick even more vicious.
I mean, they're obviously try-harding. If you play casual, why do you care?
Likewise, why should you be able to counter the sweatiest and most optimal strategies by playing non-optimally?
-
@StarLost said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3313551#Comment_3313551
I think that's what makes this build scary - everyone is the gen jockey, meaning that even if you're constantly pushing 2 off a gen (which seems to be the intuitive counter), there's the other two elsewhere slamming it out.
I suppose I could slug or tunnel more, or go really aggressively after a 3-gen, but that is the exact playstyle I go out of my way to avoid.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3313548#Comment_3313548
Here's the thing.
I've been experimenting with it myself in solo, and it doesn't work. To get this one to kick in, you need a team behind you. Because one player doing it - dislodge them from the gen and you break Hyperfocus. When it's a full squad built around this gimmick - by the time you know what's happening, the game is over.
If everyone runs it, nobody can stop you from tunneling.
-
@GensByDaylight said:

And then you get called a tunneler in EGC, along with other things such as "you are a sweaty tryhard" or "#### yourself".
There's no way to win against these players and actually feel good about it :(
I mean, okay, sure.
I don't know why you would take those players seriously, as they're clearly also tryharding.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3313494#Comment_3313494
Yeah, it's a gimmick, but I tend not to go in playing especially mean - and it feels like unless you're running deep regression or playing a strong killer with strong addons, you just...don't have any time to do anything, because a single chase costs you a gen, and another if you want to hook.
Well, yeah.
If you're playing against a good team, you'll probably lose 2-3 gens for your first chase. That's just how it is.
The remaining gens generally go slower, especially if you figure out who the gen jockey is and remove them.

So, for example, if you make it to Iri 1, you can de-pip but you can't fall out of Iri 1, I think
-
I've definitely been seeing them since Hyperfocus went live.
Not too often but every now and then a "high mmr" team will give me a run for my money. They usually have two people with Hyperfocus + Stakeout, other two have healing perks and chase perks.
It's generally way too dangerous to go full in on a gen build.
