Welcome to the newbie killer experience, you get paired with newbie survivors... if you played survivor before it's going to be easy.
Get top rank for a few seasons then tell me about trapper then lmao.
Silly survivor main...
Imagine thinking ranks mean anything at all.
But, if you insist. I've been Rank 1 every month since late 2018. I've competed in scrim nights and a couple of smaller tournaments as Killer. I've beaten the top Xbox Survivors and I think I'm around #10 in most Kills on Xbox.
The Killer experience is fine. Most issues people have come down to bad matchmaking and ultimately, skill issues. That's not their fault, as the MM shouldn't be putting them against those people.
Also, calling people X mains because you disagree with them is an extremely childish response.

there is more to do than just gens but they only care about repairing no killer interaction no totems no chests just boring gens.
Enlighten me as to how doing all the chests and dull totems contributes to Survivors escaping?

That's...literally their only objective.

more consistent =/ better. I think DH is still strong but its bad for win-streaking. What I mean by its bad for win-streaking is if your playing with Ayrun-level SWF's where your gen-rush killers in 3 minutes, then DH is terrible perk because... you simply cannot use it. this isn't to say that DH sucks... but more so that toolbox are so strong that you don't need DH in games to defeat killers if that makes any sense.
DH is only strong if the games are really close now. It used to be a perk that was good in every situation but now its situational game-changing at best. I think its biggest pitfall is that when games are close, killer can tunnel to escape to deny its value. Overall, I think its mediocre perk for most players. Scott has pretty good analogy for DH. Its hat trick perk. Something that Magician-type survivors that are good can use well but not meaningfully carry games. Could DH be a top-tier perk? Yeah it could be but is it healthy?
DH has too many pre-requisites to be worth it.
You must: not be playing against a Killer that invalidates it, must be hooked, must not be tunneled off hook, the Killer must have a good connection and then you must time the DH which isn't easy.

Steve's easily my favorite.
Feng or Claudette for least favorite. Haddie's been getting up there as well though

dead perk. don't run the trash-tier perk /s
Correct.
There are plenty of better options. You know, perks that you'll actually be able to use on a semi-consistent basis.

Different development teams.
DBD Mobile is a completely different game.

I think people are bit sleeping on DH. It's still very good, now even better because most killers will not play againts it before they see you have it. So it's like 1 free Endurance every game.
Nah.
The perk got the DS treatment.
-
Lose.
If the 4 Survivors are way better than you, why would you expect to win? That'd be incredibly bad balance.

Completely unacceptable.

No, this happened a couple of minutes in with a Merchant actively chasing everybody. As mentioned I see a changed playstyle more and more which begs the question what the next reason for hatred will be for her if the "3-gen" isn't viable anymore.
Her lore, her visual design, her chase music or the memory of the agony she inflicted on the playerbase, take your pick

Totally understandable, you turn one wheel and while you turn it, 10 others turn with it. That happens pretty often.
Honestly, I'd be interested to see how it would've been if UB didn't stack with the 45 second recovery.

I didn't say wasn't strong at all, but he's not comparable to Nurse in terms of strength.
He's in a good spot right, but that spot isn't particularly strong. Like he's not stronger than he should be for the level of skill required to play him. That's what I was calling out along with Nurse being too easy to be as strong as she is which is untrue because she's actually quite difficult to learn. After all the addon passes and minor reworks to power she's harder to learn now than she was in the past because you don't have the addons to cover for making errors in blinks.
I actually...hmmm.
I do think that Wraith is too strong for the amount of skill he needs to be played well, however, I think that's a product of this meta not necessarily of his own independent strength.
-
I do not envy the absymal state of Solo Q.
If you aren't interested in Killer and do not have friends to play with, I would not recommend DBD.

Soooo...where's the Survivor QoL announcements? I'm not seeing any on this roadmap.
Fact of the matter is, you have zero idea what they have planned. Neither the HUD rework nor the Visual TR are listed on the Year 7 Roadmap. I know for a fact that the colorblind settings weren't listed either.
It stands to reason that they wouldn't list any planned Killer QoL updates here either.

firstly KR is not equal to winR
secondly, these statistics were taken a year ago immediately after the dh nerf, when the survivors had not yet learned how to use it and the killer had eroption cob and overch
Since then, survivors have received a lot of buffs and killers a lot of nerfs, and a year has passed.
so stop doing sophistry
They literally say his KR is at around 60% right now.
Trapper is fine against most players. If you buff him to deal with those SWF's that can beat him, he's going to eviscerate everyone else.

all i do is play solo queue as survivor lately and trust me you want to keep the killer occupied...you can't depend on teammates knowing how to loop or run these perks. it falls on yourself and hoping teammates are doing gens while the killer is occupied with you
it is based on the killer obviously but how does it hurt to be prepared? i see so many threads where people whine about getting tunneled and camped and it is always the killers fault when the perks are right there to use to prolong the game. ds is still useful to run to another safe loop it isnt as useless as people claim.
Because it's not good game design to REQUIRE certain perks in order to be able to play the game for 45 seconds longer.
Likewise, blaming the Survivor for the Killer's choice to tunnel is ludicrous.
Will you be recommending everyone bring Reassurance to stop Killers from camping others, Kinship to stop Killers from camping you, Deli for the first stage and DS?
-
It's always been that way.
It's not really acceptable, imo, but there's not really anything we can do about it.

He’s not that bad? He can’t camp the Lament Configuration anymore and soon Franklin’s won’t force survivors to drop it.
He's pretty miserable. He's not DM (nobody is) but he's pretty unpleasant.
Also, Dredge's Nightfall really hurts my eyes, so he isn't exactly fun either.
-
She's miserable to play as and against.
Her best strategy is to lock down gens and bore Survivors out of a match. She's honestly potentially more hated than OG Legion.
She's got a horrible reputation and I don't see that changing, probably ever. I'd rather play against 1000 Alc Ring Blight's than a single Dull Merchant.

You cut off the question which provides context. The question was specifically asking about an update where survivors can ALWAYS recover from dying state.
Doesn't mean survivors couldn't get a way to pick themselves up. It just won't be free and unlimited.
Respectfully, I'm on mobile, I'm not looking through 3K comments to find the question.
Likewise, they flat-out state that they are not making Unbreakable basekit.

The finisher Mori just needs to be basekit Cypress Mori (and even then, I do not see the point in this). I'm not sure why they're faffing around with other ideas.
Nice to know Unbreakable basekit is off the cards, but my concerns are still a little there if slugging becomes the new preferred state of play. Haven't seen that happening as much now though, so maybe a majority of killers are being careful with this, since it's clear newer mechanics in place are a result of specifically common styles.
Yeah, I don't really get the Finisher Mori either.
Most mori's aren't really that good, although Singularity's was a nice change. Regardless, it just kinda promotes slugging, as it was on the PTB.

I can't speak for the developers, of course, but I do kind of feel like she wouldn't have all those elements to her kit if you were only supposed to use the Exposed and the stall from people disabling the drones. Right? Like, she wouldn't have stealth, she wouldn't have information, she wouldn't have haste or pallet breaking... so I really think it's deeply misguided to say that playing Skull Merchant for chase, information, or stealth is equivalent to purposefully not using elements of another killer's power. They are part of her power, and they must therefore be intended. How strong they are is a separate issue.
Yes, if you JUST buff her, it'll buff her 3-gen. However, the 3-gen problem needs to be addressed anyway, even if Skull Merchant were removed from the game, which is why I recommended doing BOTH of those things.
You'd think that, but SM doesn't exactly scream intelligent design. Pretty much everything about her is pretty poor quality, so it seems like they kinda just threw things together. Regardless, none of her other "powers" work unless she puts Drones on areas that Survivors NEED to disable them. She doesn't get value from stealth, she doesn't get value from Haste, she doesn't get Exposed or tracking UNLESS Survivors are in her Drone AoE or disable the Drone, which they'd have no reason to do if you place them at random loops.
Here's the issue. No other Killer wins the time war against Survivors in a 3-gen (without hooking) EXCEPT Dull Merchant. Knight doesn't, not after Eruption and Overbrine got nerfed. Hag and Trapper don't.
Skull Merchant Drone's guarantee her value out of Overcharge and CoB. She even has add-ons to make that skill check even more difficult. Do you have ANY clue how many Skull Merchant's win just by holding 3-gens until people give up? It's probably the same ratio as camping versus non-camping Bubba's.

Finally, my motion sickness induced headaches have an end date

The Twins rework will have taken 2 years by that point lol

I'm still suffering on Switch, and I had the genius idea of getting my friends on the switch version too thinking the custom games would be better but no. It nearly bricked one of my friend's Switch Lite (Game crashed and system wouldn't power on for a whole day), another friend said they had constant frame stutters which causes them to miss skillchecks occasionally, and I can barely play an oni match with more than 1 person being injured since the blood orbs cause massive frame slowdown. Every one of them thinks the game is just a cash grab due to the low quality of the port. This is the impression new console players are getting.
I would genuinely not recommend the game on older generation systems at this point.
It's just not worth it, especially since you still get matched against people who are getting 100 extra FPS.

What about her chase builds, or using her drones for information gathering more than the Exposed effect? What about the fact that her power's design means that she could use her drones for stealth purposes, with a few number tweaks?
That's kind of my issue here. I've seen people say that she's only good for 3-genning but that's literally not accurate? Don't get me wrong, she's not the strongest killer around at any of those things, but the conversation is about her core design rather than her literal balance numbers. I don't think that's pedantic, either, your conclusion here - that she should be removed - rests on this idea that she cannot and could not do anything else, but since she can and could, the better conclusion would be that the 3-gen problem in general should be addressed and her other elements should be buffed.
She would require a fundamental power change, on the level of Freddy, which is basically removing her from the game.
sure, you COULD play her in a non-optimal way. That's like never using Ghostface's NightShroud or only using Bubba's saw to break pallets. It's clearly not the intended way to play and it's not how most people play them.
If you buff ANY aspect of her kit, it'll buff her 3-gen.
Make Exposed last longer? More time off gens, better 3-gen. Make it take less time to become Exposed? Less time on gens, better 3-gen. Make stealth last longer? Better 3-gen and easier chases.
At BEST right now, she can be played as a worse Knight, who himself is a worse Artist. Place Drone at loop, Survivor must leave loop, repeat.
She should be reworked completely so we can forget about this pathetic excuse for a Killer design.
-
Her power is to lock down areas.
She either defends 3-gens or defends totems. Neither of which are engaging gameplay.
She's the only Killer that routinely takes matches hostage and hee power allows her to do so.
However, without her 3-gen, she's completely unplayable. She's exceedingly weak and she has zero redeeming qualities.
The game would legitimately be in a better spot if she was removed.
-
If you want to lock down totems for 45 minutes using her power, Devour is the way to go.
-
It doesn't really happen often, but when it does, yes.

HARDCORE tunneling at FIVE gens vs PROVOKED tunneling - these are seperate things. Treat them as such.
They are not.
I have seen plenty of people say that they were provoked because they thought it was a SWF.
-
this is just...idk.
Call me a Survivor main, but this is just completely nonsensical in an actual game and seems like it was written by someone who hasn't spent enough time in Solo Q.
"Tunneling is your fault as a Survivor"
It's easy to loop effectively? Yeah, maybe against Killers who are worse than you. Against Killers that are your skill or better? It's extremely difficult.
There aren't generally many safe loops in maps, plus, many Killer powers make it easier for them to tunnel. DS is a joke, you're better off running something else.
Completely ridiculous post.

One does cause the other though, if gens are flying by I HAVE to get someone out of the game as quickly as possible or I just lose. 2 gens within the first minute is still a huge issue. I get the mentality of "Only the last gen matters" but even still, I feel like I almost have to run Corrupt Intervention at this point.
One does not ALWAYS cause the other.
You said, "There's a reason Killers feel the need to tunnel and camp." You did not say, "I need to tunnel after I'm down to 1 gen in 3 minutes."
Also, you shouldn't lose 3 gens in a minute. That's a you issue. Have you tried running some gen regression perks? I quite like PR, it's 25% of total gen progress, which can be crippling to Survivors.
-
I feel like there's slightly more nuance than that.
I see plenty of Killers immediately tunnel off of first hook with zero gens done. Of course, some will excuse that by saying that the Survivors could be gen rushing.
One does not cause the other, I'm afraid. Not everything is the Survivors fault.
In most of your games, losing a couple of gens early on is completely fine. The Killer is the weakest at the beginning of the trial
-
I wouldn't say unplayable, besides Trickster. I've played him like once since the week he released.
Every other Killer is just a worse version of their PC counterparts, unfortunately.
-
Yeah, even I'm not crazy enough to play Borgo Garden back to back.

So I think this is more of a problem with parenting. When you play any game online, you are bound to play with children who have way too much time to play video games. Their parents don't parent them, they leave their kids to play video games while they go do who knows what. It's sad, but it's reality.
The best thing that can happen to improve the community for everyone is to ban these children. Permanently. If they want to use Mom and Dad's credit card to buy another copy, go ahead. Mom and Dad can enjoy the consequences of their failed parenting.

Like I mentioned, WoW and for example league of legends also punish for leaving, even in casual queue, because even a single leaver has a big impact on such small team sizes.
I don't know how it is with a leaver penalty in casual queue ATM in rainbow six siege or rocket league, two other games with fixed small teamsizes (that each game is balanced and designed for), but they both have refill, RL even bots.
The impact of even a single disconnect in DBD and games with small fixed team sizes in general, is too great to not have a leaver penalty system, even in casual queue. Otherwise those games won't ever work or suvive in the long run.
It used to not have a penalty in siege, at least when I played iirc. That was also a long time ago.

Subjective opinion about griefing sounds a bit funny ngl
And it's more about showing an attitude of a certain % of dbd's community than "putting words in smn's mouth". Some don't care, some support it and some time after it snowballs into DCs/hook suicides every 3rd game. In any other game such behaviour would have been condemned but here we are.
I mean, it is.
How do differentiate griefing from just being bad? How do you differentiate unintentional from intentional?
I started playing the game in 2018. I "grew up" with this sort of thing being extremely common. I just genuinely do not care enough to be worked up over it. Do I think you should DC, grief people or suicide on hook for no reason? No. Do I care a lot? Also no.
-
Ugh.
Fantastic.
-
I simply do not hyper-fixate on whether or not the team I'm playing against is a SWF.
