Idk.
I like to win and I feel like not trying my best is doing a disservice to the Survivors. I can ease off, but I'm not gonna do something that will be throwing.
I'm not going to slug people for 4 minutes just to 4K, but I'm gonna do my best to win, especially if it's a good team,
-
I don't really mind so much with Wesker and Nemesis. It actually really softly nerfs Wesker's tunneling ability, which is really good.
With Pinhead though, I find it to be a very sizable nerf. With Franklin's, I only needed to get a single hit. Now I've got to commit to a down.

I do play survivor. I recently even managed to get to Iridescent 1 Rank all by myself in Solo Q. I don't consider myself a high class survivor, just an average who would try his best as much as possible and adapt to situation. You can believe me or not, it's up to you. I've seen first hand how certain people may lack the basic map awareness and where it would bring them to.
You use Pain Resolution? Good for you. I just hope you are lucky with hook spawns, early downs and good triggerings. I myself find the perk in it's current state a bit lackluster.

Only against unorganized people or those who couldn't control their obsession of tapping the regressing generator when killer was still nearby. For others it was not much of the problem, so long as fellow team mates could last longer than 10 seconds in a chase.
Even COMP Survivors got hit by Eruption.
Defending CoB, I could understand that. Defending one of the most busted perk in recent memory? Not so much.

Never said CI was bad, did I? It was not certainly an A tier perk though.
I'd say 2+ but then I get games with both 0 or 4ks so I can't say it reliably. Then again I play many different killers so there are many other factors involved. It's not like the game does disclose this kind of information to a player anyway.
I track mine, because I'm a loser. Across all Killers.
Corrupt was S-tier prior to its nerf IF you knew how to play decent macro.

Just like I Loled when I heard that CI was an A tier perk. Guess we both found something to laugh at then.
Gens never regressed to 0 from a kick against decent survivors. Monkeys who kept tapping the gen and falling skillcheck don't count.
Just because you weren't able to get value from it doesn't mean it's bad lol.
What's your average KR?

Any old regression perk was good against clueless and careless survivors. Saying Corrupt was an A tier makes me question what kind of survivors were struggling or having any sort of inconvenience caused by this perk in the first place.
Overcharge and Brine were not passive because they required a kick on the gen. Both could be removed by a tap and a skill check the moment killer left the kicked gen. Only very few killers could benefit from this combo and only because they could either return back quickly or create something that would scare inexperienced survivors away.
Eruption was pretty fair perk as it kept the entire gen-kick meta alive and rewarded killer for tagging gens and participating in chases in hope for a fast down. Unfortunately survivors were too entitled to learn how to deal with it, even after HUD was introduced which was a direct nerf to the perk. When it was ''reworked'' the entire meta started to crumble and with final nerf of Overcharge and Brine combo the gen kick meta has died.
What we have now ( if I may even call it meta ) is pure hunter that involves Jolt, PR and PGTW for a slowdown. The problem with these is there's always a chance you end being unable to use any of these perks for various reasons, which means you end up with no gen regression whatsoever. Those lucky games where survivors are potatoes should not be taken into account yet they are still used as an example by people who state that the current gen regression and killer perk health is fine and doesn't require any attention from devs when in reality everything is much worse and new proper form of regression has to be introduced.
Lol.
"Eruption was fair"
That's all about I needed to read in order to understand.
I'm afraid simply being able to kick a gen and have it revert to zero is not going to happen.

the new "buffed" pop still isn't nowhere near as good as the original
Hey Tony.
Buffed pop is better than the original in a couple cases, if my math is right.
If the gen is over 75%, it's better. If it's at 50% it's a little worse. If it's below 50%, it's significantly worse, but I don't think that's an issue.
You don't really need a huge amount of chunk regression if the gen doesn't have a lot of progress.

I’m sure if you keep crying they will nerf the EMPs, it’s only a matter of time. Killer is too easy already, gotta make it even easier. 👍🏼
EMP's are overtuned at the moment. Singularity isn't like Plague. If Survivors don't cleanse, Plague gets simething for it. EMP's force Larry into an M1 Killer with nothing in his kit.
They do need to be nerfed, but we need to be very careful about it.
I'd suggest forcing Survivor to stop moving in order to use the EMP, but reduce the time required to use it drastically. Make it life a half-second channel.
I'd also say that the overall range should be reduced AND if you want to cleanse another Survivor, you need to be within 2 meters of them.

"Ah yes, the Nurse who is smacking me on hook and "hump teaching" me is definitely just playing the villain." so what your saying is the person here doing what is essentially innocuous in game gestures is an &%$%&@ and not just a player.
That these in game gestures are equivalent to genuine slurs and emotional abuse? really?
The only thing that casts dispersion on the example person's character is the follow up DM, that is uncalled for and toxic and you shouldn't have to deal with that.
But to take your offence brush and paint all gameplay in a similar vein as motivated by the same thing and equivalent to real world pain thus demonizing any gameplay that you may not like as some form of direct personal attack is a gross error of judgement.
"I've had past experience with unpleasant people playing a particular way, that means all people who play like this are motivated by the same thing and are all terrible." That's a loss of objectivity.
All I see here is someone excusing ######### behavior.
Disappointing.

I'm sure there is some genuine bad experiences, I've had my share in the online world too. It's inevitable when dealing with random strangers online and a real shame.
There are some real creeps out there.
But what we are talking about here are just in game mechanics that should have little to no real impact on people outside of the game. All that happened here is them not getting exactly the game experience they wanted.
You can't go around casting dispersions on the quality of a person just because when playing the villain in a computer game they try and play as the villain.
When you start drawing equivalency between the mechanics of a game and real world hurt and insult then you've lost your objectivity, nothing mechanically in this game should upset people to the extent that it does, nor does it justify people attacking each other's character.
You see it all the time on these forums.
"People only do this because they are out to ruin other people's fun",
"they are punishing other players for their own bad games",
"I only did this because they did that, which makes me a heroic fighter of justice and them a terrible person who deserved it"
"I have no hope for people who play like this"
If you always assume the worst of your opponent you'll only see the worst in your opponent and at that point all objective thought goes out the window and then you can perceive slight and offence in any scenario no matter how trivial.
Ah yes, the Nurse who is smacking me on hook and "hump teching" me is definitely just playing the villain.
There's definitely no malice there. Definitely wasn't any in the Twitch Whisper they sent to me. Definitely weren't any slurs.
You can TELL when people are playing to win versus playing to be an ######### just for the sake of it. You can give them an excuse by saying, "oh, they're just role-playing" but that's ######### weak in my opinion. Your main goal shouldn't be TRYING to be an #########. You want to win at any cost? That's totally fine. You wanna make other people miserable because you think it's fun? Get help.

I don´t agree at all. Corrupt wasn´t exactly A tier before its nerf and now its simply a wasted perk slot.
The concept of a perk carrying you applies mainly to perks that give value without accomplishing something. NOED or DH (in previous versions) fell under this criteria. But a perk that requires certain actions to do before hand, not really.
To me, Undying Ruin was the healthiest Slowdown combo we ever had. It required the killer to constantly switch targets in order to get the most out of it, while it also had little effect if survivors just pushed through it, because they didn´t feel like searching totems. Perfectly balanced.
But what we have now as slowdown?
Corrupt wasn't A-tier before it's nerf? Excuse me?!?!
Overbrine Eruption was almost completely passive and gave far too much value for the little skill needed to use it. Hence, it carried a LOT of people.

Ugh you've clouded your own view of the player base and lost your objectivity.
Even if a player does play in a manner you don't like it doesn't make them a bad person or out to ruin your fun.
The only toxicity here is that which lives in your head and the game will never improve for you while it lives there rent free.
My advice is stop playing for a while seriously.
No, I rather think I haven't.
There are good parts to the community, to be sure. Some VERY good parts.
There's far more bad than good on a day-to-day basis, however.
I could list out my extensive experiences that have made me think so lowly of the community, but I doubt anyone would care for that.

Agree, you have to show some good killer gameplay in order to get value, fully agree with you
Can we have the same for survivors too now or 6% gen speed repair just because you're in game is enough as "good gameplay"? I mean as killer i have to work hard to chase, hook, prevent gens to pop in 30 seconds, i'm sure sitting in front of a gen pressing one button while you have tons of bonuses is a measure of good gameplay as well right ?
Why would gens be popping in 30 seconds?
You shouldn't be losing MULTIPLE gens in 30 seconds

Pop never carried anyone. A killer who got a lot of use out of Pop is a killer who didn´t needed Pop in the first place. Simply because it requires hooks. Just because it now is slighly less bad than it was before its hard nerf, doesn´t mean its useful now.
I was more talking about regression as a whole.
You can't just slap Overbrine Eruption on a gen and get value.
PGTW is a GOOD perk, right now. PR is exceptionally strong at the moment. Corrupt has always been good. None of these perks will carry you if you're bad.

EMP's need to be balanced carefully.
If they're too weak, Singularity becomes EXTREMELY overpowered. Even now, he can be absolutely downright oppressive in chase.
Too strong though, and he can't use his power at all.

@pseudechis said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3452562#Comment_3452562
Why shouldn't it?
You do realize that the entire premise of the game is to either impose (as killer) or avoid (as survivor) non-participation in various forms.
The loss of agency is a core part of DBD, and a core part of the visceral slasher genre that DBD is trying to emulate.
If people want to discuss options/mechanics to lessen the wait especially when the game is clearly over etc then lets do it, great... but that's clearly not the topic of this thread.
This topic seems to be more about player motivation and is rife with assumptions about just that.
My faith in the general goodness of the DBD playerbase is slim.
Generally speaking, almost everyone who plays like that knows it sucks for other people and does it FOR that reason. To get back at X role for some perceived slight in a previous match. Like the one streamer I saw that held people hostage with SM and kept a "Baby Survivor Rage DC Counter" in his top right corner. That was a fun confrontation.
Perhaps I've been around DBD too long, but I've stared into the absolutely septic abyss of the worst parts of the community and it isn't pretty. Generally, people who play like that do it because it makes other people miserable, which makes them happy
-
I can't even really play him cuz of EMP spam.
-
@KayTwoAyy said:
I haven't been playing DBD, but it sounds like Singularity got the Plague treatment--a power that wholey depends on Survivor interaction (or lack thereof) for value.
See, Plague DOES get some value though.
She gets tracking and (essentially) a one-shot down if Survivors don't cleanse. She also has a single use of her power basekit.
Singularity has none of that. He gets nothing. No power, no tracking, no real slowdown

Agreed except the holding still to charge because infection at a loop with no way to remove it is gonna be to strong
Ideally, you'll still have teammates to do that.
It can even be a half second channel ability. I just don't think it should be used whilst still running.
-
I don't know. Singularity without EMP's being used consistently is ABSURDLY strong.
I think I might reduce the EMP's range, require you to stop moving to charge the EMP and make it so that to cleanse someone else's Slipstream, you need to be within 2 meters of them.
I'd also shorten the cooldown on the Pods after being EMP'd, but that's less of an issue.

The sentiment appears to be widespread.
I enjoyed her. I enjoyed playing her like a normal Killer and using her power as intended (“OMG she’s only good for 3jenning what are you talking about lol” as some like to say). Much like Twins, she’s garnered a massive reputation for being extremely boring to face. Fair enough, it’s not the first time some people have found a Killer they really enjoy, only to have the experience ruined by DC’ers because of that same Killers reputation.
I literally cannot consistently play her anymore because of her reputation. It hasn’t been this bad since Legion, but I sympathised with Legions ######### balance before because it was literally game breaking. Guaranteed downs should never be a thing like they were with Legion.
I’m all for the rework (removal will never happen and the joke got tired after the first few times), as long as she ends up enjoyable to play and face, to an extent. We all know not everyone will be happy and she will continue to carry that reputation until the day the game shuts down. Twins were given measures to limit slugging but they still carry that tag of “sluggers”. You just don’t hear it much because no one plays them.
She's the worst designed Killer and it isn't close. Her design manages to surpass even original Legion. She's excels at area denial and NOTHING else. She's completely useless without her 3-gen or Totem Defender.
I'm sorry, but the amount of Dull Merchant's that just sit and hold games hostage simply because they can is enough for me. I'm sorry that there will be people that (somehow) find enjoyment out of this complete train-wreck of a Killer and that it will, likely inevitably, be ruined for them.
She's the only Killer that I genuinely think would've been better off removed. She brings nothing positive into the game and while I applaud BHVR for not giving up on their creation, there's simply too much work to do, imo.

If you look at Nightshade, kill rate is around 54%, some killers are even below 50% and, as long nothing official is shown to us, that's the most accurate data around here.
NightLight*
NightLight is entirely self-reported and is only available to an extreme minority subset of our community. To take it as anything serious is silly.
You might be able to extrapolate general perk usage trends, but actually quoting the numbers found there verbatim? Beyond ludicrous.

Apart from people body-blocking with it or forcing the DS by jumping into lockers, I'm pretty sure the FIVE second stun was an issue.
Not really, no.
The issue was that it wasn't disabled during the Endgame, which was fixed.
Unfortunately, they also killed the perk by making it useless.
