What's that? You want a new HUD? How about some new survivor animations?

I'm a 7th Grade English teacher and students are taking a test today. I lol'd at this and now they are staring at me wondering what I'm doing on my computer. Well Played.

  • I've seen plenty of posts asking survivors to leave. I've never seen a post asking survivors to stick around so the killer can "pwetty pwease get one more wittle bittie hit" (to be read in baby voice).

Please leave, you aren't being altruistic by sticking around as a group. I'm all for blood point penalties as the timer ticks down.

Yea..if you come across red ranks and we realize right away you got Ruin, 1-3 of us will go on a hunt for the hexes. If no one seems to be going, I take it upon myself. I'm getting that annoying hex out of the way.

But honestly, you shouldn't even be facing red ranks as a newer player. The matchmaking is just really really bad. So those games will more often than not, not end up well for you. And b/c we don't see ranks in the lobbies (anymore), you have no way of telling other than going off of their outfits, charms, etc (lol).

Yeah I picked up Legion a few days ago and for about 3 games faced similarly-ranked players but then the reds came a-calling and away went the long back-and-forth matches.

  • Yeah, I hit the gate door to open and start the timer myself. Just leave please, I'm already beaten and just wanna get to practicing on the next game.

Survivors can be boosted, killers can't. Red killer mean youre better/experimented than average, red surv can mean that you play more than average.

But not all people at same rank have the same skill lvl (surv or killers). Also, at equal skill lvl, that will almost never happen even in tournament, 4 red rank surv will always win (3-4 man escape) against red rank killers, even more true if they are sfw on vocal, exception being very good nurse or spirit players playing dirty (slug the 4, proximity hook camp, hard tunnel), thats why in tournament they have to make rules like surv cant do gens when they are injured until 2 gens left etc...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/219173/ok-seriously-are-you-really-curious-why-more-people-aren-t-playing-killer

@ProfGameAndTalk yeah MM sucks and i can understand that with "only" 70hrs, red and purple rank surv can be impressive and tricky to counter, especially when you start with nurse that have one of the high skill cap, even more, as a new players, you need to learn surv patterns so you need perks that will help you find surv easyly so you can practice more her power and the way you must patrol the map to apply pressure and chain chase. You need perks like Tinkerer, BBQ, Discordance, Bitter murmur, Whisper, Im all ears is also very good when you start nurse... Nurse calling is good tho (its my favourite perk so im litlle bias here^^). NOED can be a fine perk when you start but it will not help you get better cause its a late game perk. Monitor is kinda useless on nurse, you should almost never walk with nurse and since she scream when she blink and grunt when she stop...

    Excellent! Thanks for the tips!

  • Plague is one of my faves. I’m all for buffing that tall drink of water!

Ormond is one of my favorite maps as a colorblind person. I can spot survivors from such a distance there and the red scratch marks against the white is great

Worse maps for me have to be Backwater Swamp (I can't see anything in the underground area), Meat Plant (upstairs is great but the basement is so dark and I think rework made it darker which is completely different than the conception art).

I think toggling the color to either red or blue would be enough to help imo. Games like Splatoon let us do the color lock and its a huge help and has no effects on gameplay other than helping us colorblind people play normally.

My man!! Ormond is my favorite also simply because I can EFFING SEE what’s going on.

Damn dude I feel ya. That matchmaking just ain’t right. But please when you do get good have mercy!! D:

    Maybe. Just... maybe.

People don't want to play killer because killer is way, way harder and way, way more stressful than even solo survivor. Everything rests on you playing well and not making mistakes because your mistakes are 4× more impactful.

Also, I would probably run Sloppy Butcher over M&A on Nurse, she screams all the time anyway so you're probably not going to be doing much sneaking and Sloppy is just so good.

Edit: I actually have no idea what that 3rd perk is, it just kind of looks like m&a. If it's shadowborn, fair enough, but it is a perk I never got addicted to and I do fine

Yup, it's totally MandA. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out!

  • I can't see scratch marks on any map except Ormond. And don't even ask me about blood. I'd love to use Sloppy Butcher but I can't see the extra blood. I can't see ANY blood. I have to rely on sound and the survivors have perks to mitigate that. Please some color blind options. Thank you.

  • New killer here with a noob question. Where do I find steam stats? Thanks!

  • I soooooo feel this. F for OP

  • Swamp for me. Those fat-shaming trees can get effed in the A.

  • I'm a lvl 12 killer, been playing 2 weeks. I get TONS of reds to play against, more often than similarly-rated survivors. I can usually tell two minutes into a match what kind of ranks I'm going against. On my stream we play "over/under" 2.5 reds played against.

  • I'm Central time zone and a killer main and tend to play at night. I tend to get into matches quickly but OH MY GOODNESS I get put against high level players more often than not. I'm lvl 12 killer, been playing for a couple of weeks now but I just can't handle so many reds at one time. Yikes! Hopefully the matchmaking updates the devs have talked about help me out in that regard.

  • I've been playing a few weeks now and honestly I don't have any issue with how exit gates work to open. My issue is with people not leaving once the gate has been opened. Matches getting extended because a team is sitting at the invisible barrier pointing, waving and teabagging waiting for the killer to come at them. I'd like to see a bloodpoint penalty to survivors as the exit gate timer ticks down.

I know that I need to get better to get fewer survivors alive as the gates are ready to be opened, but that's what I'm dealing with now.

If you want to dramatically improve your Clown game, start concentrating on how survivors will run a loop in order to reach a pallet or vault. Like with any other killer, force a survivor to run the OPPOSITE way, but make sure gas is going to be in the survivors path.

In other words, learn where to throw bottles AHEAD of survivors rather than at them directly.

Bottles should only be thrown directly at survivors because there is an interaction you want to interrupt, or because you’re in an indoor map and the survivor is weaving a lot.

Good to know. Thanks for the tip!

  • I've been playing some clown and I think the reload buff is great! I'm still a noob though and will definitely have to practice making the survivor slow and myself faster.

Wait #########. Is there no color blind mode in this game?

If there is, I haven't found it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/218161/new-killer-main-question-about-trolls

Not all survivors do this to troll. I personally do it so you can whack me a few times so you get extra bp.

While I appreciate the sentiment I have to say that this is still a troll. It would be more helpful for me if you left the gate and the game ended faster. I get more bloodpoints getting into another match several minutes faster instead of getting one more hit coming across the map to someone teabagging or spinning around or pointing or waving. Thanks!

In my experience it's the most bullshit map, the fact that tracks just don't show up makes me lose so many chases

I get that a lot of people don't like Ormond and I completely respect that. As a color blind player, I like Ormond because it's one of the ONLY maps where I can actually see scratch marks against the light colors. Just about every map is so dark and the dark red is nearly impossible for me to see. Also I can actually see hooks on Ormond whereas I can't see hooks easily at all on dark maps because they just blend in with all the other dark stuff. I lose so many wiggle-free survivors because I'm going after the closest hook I can see the outline of but can't see the one right next to me because it's the same color as what's around it. I'm new and need to learn the maps, true, but it's still frustrating.

I usually 2k with twins without slugging (I do end up camping, but not intentionally. Hook someone and release victor, not realizing I left Charlotte near hook). Their ability to shut down loops by leaving Charlotte body blocking a window, door or pallet while you chase with victor is very effective. Victor comes back fast and is very powerful. It feels like your main killer is victor, and I think of Charlotte as a mobile spawn point and resource for my perks.

While we're on the subject, has anybody realized why coup de grace is really good on the twins? What I do is don't lunge with charlotte at ALL unless its a clutch moment in a chase where I couldn't use victor, or until there's one or 0 generators left. At that point you have 5 super lunges, and you can really do some damage with them. Combined with relentless to make up for a missed lunge so you can quickly do it again is nice. I imagine shed be a good "exit gate defender" killer because you can combine that with blood warden and NOED and have a really strong end game presence

Oh wow, I never thought about saving them for the endgame. I tend to lunge A LOT! I need to be more disciplined in my striking. Oh well, I'm a noob getting good. Thanks for the idea!
