  • My favorite is Otz on youtube. On twitch, I like to watch ArchdruidDrey from time to time.

I used to watch a lot of Tru3 but I'm just fed up with him now

  • As a survivor, it's ok. I don't want to spend ages discussing balance, I die more often that I escape but whatever I can still have fun

As a killer, absolutely not. Every game is PAIN. Since I got passed the rank 10 (currently rank 8), I always have 2-3 red ranks survivors against me and I can't chase them. But since I'm dumb, I keep trying, and manage to get the poor green/purple rank mixed with them, and somehow black pip enough to stay in this hell. Once again I don't care about balance discussion here, I am not a top killer, and I will probably never be so high level meta is beyond me. I just want to play with people my level...

Am I the only one who likes autohaven? I'm totally not saying this because it has a green color palette and I can see better in it, even as killer I still like playing on it because it's wide open and I like the simplistic feel of the older maps.

I understand why, but macmillan estate are my favorite, they give this simplistic feel, and feel more balanced and diverse. (except shelter woods that I find just boring and can't do any balanced landing on it :( )

  • In some of my recent games, I litteraly saw people throwing themselves at the hook while I was here. I will not pretend I didn't see anything to avoid loosing points. Sometimes I know there is a survivor nearby because I saw them/saw scratchmarks and I need to find behind which rock he is crouching. On the outside that looks like camping, but going away when you know there is someone here is just completely stupid. How many times I was accused of camping because survivors don't realize that in my perspective this is the better thing to do?

I don't personnally camp a survivor I hooked after the gates are open, but I understand killers who do, because they know that if the person gets unhooked they'll never catch them again

Now, facecamping is terrible imo (I don't understand why you would just spend 80% of the game staring at a hook) and the only thing you can do is genrush and be extra careful to not get caught.

  • I only watched parts of the video, but I overall agree on a lot. Even if he gives idea on every killer, I think most of the L priority are fine as they are now, and focus only on H priority to start.

Trapper should have some changes as he said (it doesn't change much, it just removes ridiculous things), Clown needs help, and Bubba is really boring, to play as, and against imo. I'm not sure what to say about Legion, I should play him more and see.

To get a 4k without 12 hooks means tunnel, camp, slugg.

Slugg the game discourages and looses lots of points, camping and tunnel the dev's actively make perks to counteract and reduce emblems because of it. To say 12 hooks isnt how the game should go is to tell every person in the forums that tunneling and camping is how killers are supposed to play.

And I dont disagree... but good luck trying to get people on board with being tunneled

12 hooks is a really rare situation honestly.. If you 4k, you usually snowball at some point and can one hook/two hook the last 2 survivors. And not saying of survivors that don't get unhooked fast enough to not go into struggle because of pressure/commited to finish their gens before. I think at most 4k games end with 10 hooks.

And about the difference in objectives, I'll had that every hooked survivor is a new objective added for survivors.

I don't disagree that the game is survivor oriented, but that's just not as bad as people say, people like to complain, and exagerate things. And ignore facts that don't go their way.

  • @moshsl said:

You forget some stupid but important fact... You cannot know the surv perks... But in the prematch loading says the name of the killer ( not all the time but, it's a fact) destroying the minimal surprise factor. Instantly they know how to play (you)

It's really disappointing that all you can do is make a statement here and be the point of jokes and angry from the same toxic main surv twitch.tv YouTube unknown artist who are wannabes from real streamers. You mix that with swf possibility and get the game going like a Titanic. If they don't make some serious changes... They gonna drown.

I make the stupid survey, what a lost of time they destroy the only stupid weapon that killers gotten.. I used 2 times Hex ruin.

Personally think all ruin it's a waste of perk slot.

    I like your post.

I'm not sure, but I believe you know the killer in the loading screens only the first few times you're facing him. (that, or it's only a low rank thing)

  • love playing against: Ghostface, Wraith, Pig

hate playing against: Plague, leatherface, spirit

love to play as: Doctor, Wraith, Trapper

hate to play as: nurse, billy, huntress

  • I think a lot of the times people think they are facing swf, but it's just crappy matchmaking and players who now how to react with their teamates

  • I just played 4 games in a row as a killer, rank 8/9. At least 2, often 3 red ranks each game. They are all so much better than me at looping, I feel absolutely powerless, I have to chase for ages to get one (if I don't give up when they reach a strong loop), and since I don't facecamp they just escape all and there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop them..

Can't wait to derank and go back to green/purple survivors, I loved playing killer before, now I'm just exhausted. ><

  • I would have agreed, but recently we got the archives, which gives us a lot a new points to make, so I guess it's better now.

The current system seems just fine to me. Hook suicide or disconnect, valid tactical plays. If someone wants to take that kind of penalty to let a sole survivor out, so be it.

Don't be so hard up for 4k. I say this as killer main. If you aren't enjoying the game because of this kind of thing, take a break.

I'm sorry, disconnect is a valid tactical play?

    @Peanits said:

I do get the premise of the idea, but I do think this would be really awkward. Imagine you're not even coordinating with the other guy and you happened to see where the hatch is. They get caught and they're dead on hook, so you start heading over to the hatch. Just as you get there, they rage quit and the hatch vanishes.

I feel there are more elegant ways to handle it, such as blocking the hatch for X seconds if someone disconnects or leaving their husk in the game so they go through the normal sacrifice animation (or get sacrificed EGC style if the killer drops them).

That being said, block the hatch for X seconds after a disconnect is a good solution. It's similar to the time a sacrifice takes to be completed, instead of the instant open a disconnect gives. I don't like the husk idea because of the exploits it could open. Like a Myers stalking it to death, and it's only the first exemple I thought about, and I know people are reeeeeaally good at finding exploits

They shouldn't balance the game around "Average survivors"

The gap in ruin effectiveness between average survivors and top survivors was just ridiculous. It was impossible to get a gen done on yellow ranks while ruin was here, and in red ranks they didn't even bother looking for ruin before finishing the first 2 gens they started near.

You have to understand a big part of the players are below rank 12, and telling them to "get good" is not a solution. Not everyone has that much time to spend practicing skillchecks in the game, for some people there is a lag on skillchecks making it very difficult to hit great (I was in this situation), and some are just not able to reach the high ranks..

It's the same thing lol too many high rank survivors = not enough high rank killers

What I meant is that it's too easy to go to the red ranks for survivors compared to killers. I mean, even me could go to red ranks survivors, and most of the time I end up facing purple ranks killers that are strong enough to get kills, when I end up facing red ranks killers, I feel like they are much stronger than us

  • I got the same. Why? Endgame, only two survivors left (the others escaped), one healthy, one on hook. I even left the hook to not be accused of camping, the survivor gets freed, I chase and hit him again (the other one didn't have BT, or even tried to bodyblock), hook him again, go searching for the other one near the hatch (so no camping again), he gets unhooked again, and I get him again while his friend ran to the gate alone. Boths insulted me after. (and I was a green rank against red ranks btw, but I suppose I'm just a "dumb prick" after all)  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I honestly think one issue with new ruin is that it's nearly impossible to see it's effect, unlike old ruin that was reminding you of it existence every skillcheck, and you could feel how you were punished at each fail. Now you don't see yourself the regression, since you are usually running away from the gen, and have no way of knowing of much a random gen has regressed since last person worked on it. I'm confident that despite the feeling it gives, it has a good effect. Would be great to have stats to be sure though..

Below is a link to the last ten matches I've done as solo survivor on ps4, I think I escaped either 7 or 8 out of 10 times but terrible matchmaking was forcing me to play against lower ranked killers...or there aren't any high rank killers left.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/126150/solo-q-survivor-experience-on-ps4

I think it's more that there are too many high ranks survivors..

  • Short answer: no, killers must kill

Long answer : it depends. Facecamping for the whole match survivors after survivors, toxic (and terribly unfun), patrolling hook because you saw scratch marks/BBQ/heard something, not toxic, just common sense dammit.. And camping last hook when gates are open and survivors ready to escape, Ok. I understand this sucks for you but it would be dumb to leave now (Or you feel too bad like me and patroll to give them a chance)

Tunneling: unsafe un hook: your fault. Unwillingly finding the same survivor : bad luck, Or just heal and hide better. Ignoring other survivors to tunnel one, kind of toxic.

Anyway never bannable. I personnaly try to never do it but still get ######### sometimes in the end chat so whatever, salty people will never stop anyway

  • @toxicmegg said:

but only if they tunnel, camp or are someway toxic

Says the person litteraly called toxicmegg xD

Last time I felt so bad for a trapper I stepped on purpose in his trap thinking He was trying a challenge xD

Many people would argue that the game needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, regardless of the camera angle.

I'd like to twist it around and make survivors experience the game from a first person view.

Would be absolutely terrifying and would stop stupid things like 360, I love it. But it would be such a huge nerf for survivors (as 3rd person killer would be huge buff) it would need to rework litteraly everything so it won't happen

I wish we were allowed to choose more than one map.

I picked Haddonfield because of course it's Haddonfield, but if I had two more choices to make, it would be Disturbed Asylum (has safest main building in the game) and Sheltered woods (has... no main building at all).

Same, but they rework one map at a time anyway so they want to know where to start I guess

What do you expect.. I mean no one even cares about the lores.. its too damn long.. I mean why would i spend 3-5 minutes reading on a useless and pointless lore.. I bought this game to play as Killer or Survivor.. And that's it.. I don't give a crap about these lores... who even made them.. Its kinda pointless. they should make a survey that focuses on the real problem (matchmaking, big ass maps, unbalance perks, gen speed, RUIN NERF), not these lores and crap..

Well, I care for lore and find my fun in learning more of the characters, the ruin change was needed (I'm not a survivor main) and not everything Tru3 says is the absolute truth but I guess you only want to see people with similar views as yours to keep shiting on the devs...

  • Way better than before. The static field was really annoying, the static blast is way more situational than a passive "hey, scream if I happen to run next to you". And also the snap out of it back to tier 1 is better too. Before, I just felt screwed when I got to tier 2 with no way to hide from illusionnary doctors until the end of the game

  • Pretty sure the calm part are way more numerous than the angry part. They just don't look at the forum at all or stick to the healthy parts like lore, or fanarts. The rest only looked for the forums to complain after some bad games, and discovered a whole new world of anger to bathe in, and learned how to be as loud as possible xD

Me, I try to find logic in devs instead of just attacking them 24/7. Ruin rework was needed.

  • well, bye stranger unless you miss arguing endlessly on the forums or need more attention :)

  • Ghostface always make me jump the most. And the most creepy of all stays the Doctor for me, especially with the skin with eyes everywhere.

  • As a survivor, it used to be the most annoying thing, with the passive static field and the fact that you couldn't get back to madness 1, I just couldn't hide anywhere and for me (a stealthy survivor not very good at chases) it felt really unfair. Now it's a lot better, sure he can still use the blast but it's a lot better than just "passing near me by chance and make me scream" and I'm not stuck with illusionary doctors all game.

As a killer I played very few games with him before, but I like the blast, especially with the addons reducing the terror radius. Time for a sneaky doctor!

  • spine chill for survivors. When I started the game, I thought it was terrible compared to premonition, now I feel blind when I don't have it.

For killers, I've started to like Save the best for last. I'm not sure if it's that good, but I love the cooldown reduction

  • First I was unhappy about the characters chosen, but as long as they are all originals it's still ok, I don't know what to do with my shards anyway. And they don't block the path. And devs said they understood last rift was a bit too greedy so I'm hoping it will be easier this time so that even if I am missing a character I should be able to do it.

It was bound to happen eventually and I don't think I should be entitled to more free content because there is a little something more on them

  • "EYE FOR AN EYE, AND PERK FOR A PERK"

Don't try to turn this into a war, the community is already enough toxic as it is..

And Dead Hard is the hardest exhaustion perk to use, very easy to counter, will make a difference only if the timing is perfect.

  • Didn't have ruin to begin with 😂

  • Agreed. For me the last 10 tiers were awful, I think they just need to make it a little bit easier on the grind (less xp per tier, more fragments per challenge, other ways to gain fragments (daily rituals?) etc..)

  • not sure if it fits here, but I need a practice mode with AIs. nothing too elaborate, a way to have survivors spawning and running on a straight line, or having a killer follow you as if you were in chase, as a way to test perks, or simply practice chasing by trying to make distance with the killer, or getting better at some killers things (throwing hatchets on a moving target, purge, chainsaw... ). Would be nice to not have to try on randoms a killer you never tried or always having to ask a friend to spend his time in private matches with you!

  • Try to stay healthy as long as possible, and never cleanse, except if you need to run through the plague to exit, or if everyone else cleanse without thinking

Don't know how you were so lucky to get to tier 60 after completing all your challenges. I'm jealous if i'm being honest, if you still have free time, load up the match as a killer and just be afk, a stealth one preferably. Trust me, if you can do that all day, it'll be much easier. I did that for twenty tiers and it was hell on earth so it should just be a nightmare for you. Good Luck!

I don't really know either, but I ended up roughly the same tiers as my friends, I guess we played a lot together. :D

Yeah, I've been doing that this last days. I don't like it, and I don't think it's good for the health of the game, but I'm just burned out at this point. I usually take trapper so that people can run around me to farm some points if they want too. Tier 69.5, almost done!

  • When I finished the archives, I was at tier 60, and almost all my games in the last months were played with a challenge (not saying I got them all on the first try). The last 10 tiers are hell for me, it's fun at the beginning, but now it's just playing again and again for baby steps.. I played a lot more than usual since november, I don't see how I was supposed to finish it with 1 hour a day. Maybe they should decrease to 60 or 65 tiers? Or have each tier worth 700 xp? Or add more challenges/rift fragments per challenge? I liked the challenges, but if it stays so grindy, I don't think I will bother with the pass next rift
