A lot of it is denial. For example with Hillbilly, every other killer had a penalty to using their power (like a cooldown or an ammo limit etc, stopping them from spamming their power) so it was obvious Hillbilly was the odd one out, but Hillbilly mains had been telling themselves for years that Hillbilly was perfectly balanced. He really wasn't.
When the nerfs came, they made up this story that there was a lot of infighting at BHVR due to the nerfs, as if it was some gang warfare scene from Anchorman and some devs were ready to leave unless the Hillbilly nerfs were rolled back. Again, it speaks to their denial that the killer was OP. To this day they can't accept it.

I remember when they changed the way the spirit climbed through windows, with the rationale that it felt like a guessing game for the survivor at the killer shack because you couldn't tell if she was faking the window climb or not. I knew then that the spirit would be nerfed because it is often a guessing game at loops as well (when she phases). If you think Spirit is balanced, I suggest you play more survivor games.

DBD is too big now and it isn't enough to just compete on gameplay, DBD has a wealth of player investment and progression mechanics going on. Keeping the player playing is what DBD does very well.
-
It isn't closer, you are just increasing the power of both. Solo gets more powerful, SWF gets more powerful, it doesn't solve anything other than making the game harder for killers.
-
Deathgarden had voice comms and I never experienced that. If it happens, mute them.
Making a kindred base kit still makes SWF stronger than solo.
-
Kindred is still very useful in SWF. We don't have to speak on where the killer is going because we can already see it, so we can react faster. It is also useful when mindgaming a camping killer at the killer shack if they are camping a hooked survivor in the basement.
The only way to bring solo anywhere near close to SWF without buffing SWF as well, is to have ingame comms. The majority may not use the ingame comms, but they will listen to it (all it takes is one good survivor to communicate to the whole group to make them effective), which already brings solo somewhere in the vicinity of SWF.
-
His hitbox is 180 degrees in front to compensate for the little turn movement he gets (at base) when rushing.
-
Content being taken away is never a good thing, especially maps where we get one a year.
-
I'm less enthusiastic getting into another licensed DLC after the Stranger Things situation. I'm still interested to see how it will look but I am not sure about a purchase.
-
If it is expensive to keep renewing all the licensed content, eventually another one will go. The fact these deals need renewing mean one side can back out, so buy licensed content on the assumption that it won't be in the game forever.
-
I can't see any option for bot games, it looks like the feature was delayed.
-
Make stealth killers (and killers with stealth perks) immune to spine chill.
-
Some form of built-in comms would be an option but if Deathgarden taught us anything it is that randoms rarely use voice comms. In my 80+ hours of playing that game, I spoke to one random on comms and he wasn't speaking English.
If you are solo, take kindred. That is the best thing you can do.
-
I think he is fun to play against. I get what you mean about windows and pallets but his tentacle acts kind of like a huntress hatchet in those situations and can be avoided.
-
Doing a sequel to a live service game as unique as DBD could be tricky. Would BHVR have to renegotiate all the licencing deals for the killers? There is no way a DBD 2 could release with the same content as DBD and not everyone would move over to the sequel, so BHVR would be competing with themselves for a long time. I think this is as good as it gets for DBD.
-
Not always true, my friends and I stopped playing two tomes ago (around Halloween last year). I check in now and again to see what state the game is in, which only reaffirms I made the right decision to quit.
-
DS change is good.
-
They are and I get it with content like new killers, but when it comes to the colour blind mode, there was no need to keep the community guessing for as long as they have.
-
BHVR should have communicated this a while ago. I hope lessons have been learned here.
-
Who called it a nerf? Why does everything have to either be a buff or a nerf these days, can't things just be different?
-
Free auric cells in the free rift would be weird considering the rift is designed to make money.

How many of those built in vcs would actually help you as a team in solo Q and not just a 10 year old screaming your eardrums out because you're not unhooking them when no ed is on. It seems like a good idea, but it wouldn't make that much of a difference imo.
Adding built-in voice comms is the best thing BHVR could do. Not every random solo would use it but at least it would be there and the devs wouldn't have to walk a fine line on balancing the game where one group communicates and another doesn't.
It is impossible to balance DBD because there are two groups of players that play this, one of them is hugely disadvantaged because they have no way to communicate.
-
If the killer player had a way to turn off SWF, who in their right mind would turn it on? Not the majority of killers.
What the devs should have done years ago is have built-in voice comms for all survivors and balance around the assumption that all survivor players are communicating. We would have a much more balanced game in the long run.
-
Why release content with this many issues? All it does is damage the game.
-
I can't tell the difference from the normal skin.
-
There are some loops you can use indefinitely now vs the huntress. It is hilarious.
-
I've camped when it is clear the group I am playing is hammering gens but it also overly altruistic, so in that sense camping is a strat that works.
-
The quality of the rifts have got progressively worse, now I'm not even trying to complete the challenges. The effort isn't worth the pay off.

They could just make it a 4k with the 3 killer specific perks and no offerings for it to work.
Then you are back to it being very difficult at red ranks.
-
The problem with making it 4k instead of merciless is you would just take an ebony mori, so it would be too easy. I agree though that merciless is also too difficult on some killers in red ranks when you compare it to what survivors have to do, which is simply survive the game.
-
One Punch Man, make him the only survivor that can kill the killer.
-
It is happening anyway with players using reshade, even streamers (and fog whisperers) use it openly. Their rationale maybe that it makes the game look better but it also makes stratch marks and blood more pronounced, survivors trying to hide easier to spot and the killers red stain is more visible. If the ambassadors of DBD can do it and BHVr tolerate that, then I say an official mode would be fine.
-
Camping, slugging and tunnelling all have their place in the game and survivors have perks that can counter these. Just remember the 45th rule in the survivors rule book:
"If the killer wins, it is their fault for being a bad killer"
and the 46th rule:
"If the killer loses, it is their fault for being a bad killer."
-
It is annoying when an SWF has it because it makes their group play even more effective, and for a game that relies on the survivors not having that kind of information to hand (information = exactly what the killer is doing and where they are going at all times), it isn't enjoyable unless you are a stealth killer.
-
Blight is tough to learn but I think he is a decent killer.
Demo is a fun killer when it comes to atmosphere but he is too limited compared to other killers, I never play him expecting to win games. His portals require way too much setup time for the functionality they offer.
-
Regarding the daily login rewards, I've only received the first one on the 24th and I've been logging in regularly since then but nothing else has happened. Is this normal?
-
Halloween should be the one event DBD does amazingly well, they should be putting in maximum effort but the event has got worse over the years. I think the problem is BHVR no longer need to try, the rift gets them to desired engagement, no need to go the extra mile for a seasonal event. Unfortunately, they have forgotten what made Halloween so special in this game.
The sale on the halloween cosmetics and the daily login rewards are nice, I appreciate that and if that is all they could do in response to the feedback then that is fine but this year will go down as another Halloween event wasted. We can only hope they do something special next year.
-
They should have done this as a twitch drop. Have it as a guaranteed drop for anyone who watched X hours of a fog whisperers stream.
-
They shown the data, it would appear his base kit is fine and I am fine with that. Some of his addons I never use, so hopefully they get looked at.

An obvious solution would be to keep the 10 times BUT on every platform, It would be valid 10 times on PC,Mobile,PS4,XBOX and stuff.
Everyone could compete equally on each platform.
The best solution is to make this a twitch drop reward like literally every other studio does with twitch streamers. Have it as a guaranteed drop you get when you have watched X number of hours of a fog whisperers stream.
-
I really do appreciate Paulie and The King, they are trying their best with these codes. Having the redeemable limit set to 10 is doing nothing but frustrating a lot of players because they become invalid in like 0.001 seconds. I got lucky thanks to The King, but the majority of viewers on all the streams won't get lucky and that is a major problem.
-
Events in games like this should always exceed what they did the year before or at the very least meet the same expectation they set the year before, not make the event worse as the years go on. Halloween should be THE event for DBD but every year they try to scale it back and now it has become a joke.
-
I got lucky, I think "The King" is doing it the best way, he puts up 4 codes at a time but hides the last 3 digits of each code. We got loads of time to type in the partial code and then he and reveals the last 3 digits, so it feels like 40 people get a chance rather than 10.
The whole thing is so badly thought out and I don't blame the streamers, they are only trying to do the best they can in a bad situation. I think everyone involved here is beyond frustrated, viewers and streamers.

What addons could they even touch? They are probably the most balanced.. yeah you have unlimited tier 3, after you sacrifice 4 gens stalking the whole time. Wall hacks compensates with reduced speed and basically no lunge. Insta moris take a long ass time to stalk.
I don't see an addon worth touching.. but pretty typical trend as of late
The glass addons are kinda lame, aside from that I would consider Myers perfect tbh. Yeah he isnt top tier but him and GF are the only killers that make DBD feel like a genuine horror game.
-
If they are sticking with this form of delivery then the amount of people that can redeem the codes needs to be increased to at least 500. Having a redeemable limit of 10 per code on a stream with thousands watching is beyond ridiculous.
-
Racing to type in a 36 digit code that only 10 people can claim is a silly idea, who thought this up?
-
Tbh the event has been different every year and it has got progressively worse, so this latest change does fit that pattern. I have to give credit where it is due, BHVR have been generous with the BP redeemable codes recently and I do appreciate that, but the rift has got more grindy and the events have progressively got worse as time goes on.
-
Some clarification from the devs would be appreciated. I don't like the idea of rushing to the game and inputting a code if it is limited to like the first 100 people watching the stream, because that will go fast and then we have to wait around again in another stream for the same lottery.
-
It is frustrating the devs don't fully commit to ingame comms for all survivors (solo and SWF) and constantly seem to be struggling with balancing the game around one group of solo survivors relying on perks to read the game and others bypassing these perks because they are in an SWF with comms, the difference when playing killer vs each group is huge and the devs need to shorten that gap.
Until the devs add ingame comms for all survivors they will always struggle to balance the game for everyone.
