  • Your all right.. there we can all be done with this pointless click bait
  • No way.
I dont care if I get camped but I don’t think I should be rewarded for it,
  • Seems to be an American obsession with building walls everywhere lately.
You also spelled horrible wrong in your post title

He got embarrassed. Thanks for the entertainment :')

Our god only1biggs here to claim that it was all mistakes and nothing to do with bad balance.

I guess that sort of makes it to the inb4 list I just posted.

There were a lot of mistakes made imo, but even if he played the match perfectly I don't think he'd stand a chance. Wraith was too weak, DS was too strong, survivors played too well.

    Although his build isn't great.

Mistakes or not, as you say, wouldn't have mattered.

    This is DbD, not Quake.

What does Tru3s ass taste like.... asking for a
    friend
  • so I’ve noticed a lot of face camping lately while playing the cannibal especially it totally holds the game hostage to camp especially with a chainsaw that has about five swings borrowed time can’t even save them. What if??... and this is a big what if.?? The dying process slows tremendous while the killer is in the vacinity o the hook I’m talking enough time to finish all gens of the killer stays. I only ask this because there’s legit NO way to save this person and still goes the killer time to find another victim before gens are completed. I know killer mains are going to argue well the survivor shouldn’t go down if he doesn’t wanna be camped but it’s inevitable a killer is goin to eventually down some doesn’t matter how good they are. Just some food for thought.
Rank up - camping gets less as killers get better
    Lols 😂
no of anything it gets worse and rightly so

honestly, I dont bother but if a toxic survivor starts a standoff I will jsut hit him and lose, the next survivors will be punished instead  (yes thats unfair, but im just a human)

They only tested the mechanics because of killer crying (PSA for example)

What on earth are you talking about

I am talking about that survivors are just skins right now

That’s the point, if they limited the perks to a single survivor, there would be no variance in what your chasing. I mean who would play Dwight for his “perks” and there not even as bad as Quentins.

The survivors should be just skins, remember that the killer only has a unique ability they are not tied to perks.

What ability do surviours need need in addition to perks.
  • Would choose any of the OG maps including Crotus Prenn (But no CowShed or Groaning Storehouse)

Would never choose Swamp, Memorial, BadHam, or The Game.

    HaddonField is a maybe...

If you had DR full terror raids perks and addons, they may as well have a single room with everyone in it. Never get less than a 4K with DR on that map
  • My point is that some maps are not designed for certain killers (Michael....the Farm , hillbilly and leather face ... kindergarten and hospital, nurse and trapper...the SAW complex, huntress...clown map, etc ,etc ,etc) and also some perks are not great at certain maps , so why don^t let the HOST(killer) choose the map gud for his killer and not suffer from the randomness?
PS. I main billy and huntress and i can state that playing as billy in hospital is torture and there are some maps where I can strait see every gen that leads to ez huntress wins.

    Nope
And the nurse on the game map is not a struggle at all.
Plus all your games would be the same, you’d always pick the maps for your main, we’d never see half the content, I would say there isn’t a killer out there that would pick the swamp.

The stealth argument is flawed as there isn’t really a way to stay truly hidden, the killer sees your objectives, the maps aren’t designed for stealth get aways from all killer perks, good luck stealthing away from a Myers haha

SB limits my own mobility between chases. When it's on cooldown, I have to walk. Lithe gives me the freedom to run anytime I want - and vaults are the easiest thing in the world to find - especially since it works over pallets.

All these perks must always be a "once per chase" perk, PEROID

I would agree if scratch marks were removed and killers had less speed.
We remove scratch marks and killers have a slightly slower speed. In exchange, survivors don't hear heartbeat and can't see the red killer strain.
    Deal?
Deal considering there are already killers that have this, I’d be fine with that, Dr would be useless though.

All those survivor nerfs and killer buffs will be almost useless agains the good old 4 man swf group and then what, you'll increase the generator repair time x2 to fix the "gen rush"?
    Jesus christ...

I’d like to see SWF made an extreme game play.
No perks, no offerings, no items unles found, reduced repair speeds or more gens to be completed. I’d probably play SWF then

It's the same thing as saying I should get something for buying a game when it was released plus the DLC's and then getting mad 7 months later when the "Game of the year" edition of the game comes out at a discount. You already had the content in this case for 5+ months, how would you even get a refund for something you have and played for X amount of hours? If we do get some kind of cosmetic for buying early that is great but I don't find it necessary.

Actually it’s nothing like that. .
you had it earlier is not a valid reason as it was purchased in good faith that that was the only way you could play it. Those who did want to pay never got to play it. That is no longer the case.

    stop using false analogy’s.

I still think people were confused by the DEVs saying if you buy the DLC you get an extra cosmetic, because if you buy curtain call you do get an extra cosmetic. I don’t think they ever planned adding retrospective cosmetics for the other DLCs

How is it a false analogy? The OP wants a "bonus" for having purchased content from over a year ago because it is now unlockable with play time which is the same concept as I stated. You HAD the content for at least a year at this point (non-licensed that is) and used it for that long and it is not a foreign concept in games especially for previously released DLC to come in the base game. Why did they not get mad when it came out for console and we got all prior released DLC included? Not to mention its not like its an instant unlock, you still have to grind to get there for free, and you don't get all the cosmetics you get with purchasing.

Because it is.... pay to play is not the same as play to pay. There is an issue of good faith that at the time of purchase there was the complete understanding that those who didn’t pay didn’t play, it was not early access they paid for.

Not to mention he is not asking for a bonus he is asking for what he believes was promised by the Devs.

We were talking permanently, if the perks could only be used once per chase (chase not including loops)

And I was pointing out it's not necessary as there are ways to hide them completely. 3 seconds is a long time, especially when you are running at 150% speed and are good at misdirection.

May I also introduce you to "Lightweight" if they bug you so much? If you have trouble losing the killer due to scratch marks, the tools are there if you'd just let go of your meta-perks and play with them.

What you and the rest of the "this is too much" crowd fail to understand is none of these perks are meant to be used more than once per chase. Indeed ,they are doing everything they can right now to encourage survivors to stop looping and get them to actually LOSE the killer instead of playing Scooby Do around a pallet forever.

Bloodlust, the way Evader is scored during chase, high-visability loops getting some sight blockers, and now exhaustion nerf - all designed to punish survivors who stay in long and drawn out chases. The devs are doing everything in their power to make the chases more and more favorable to the killer the longer the chase goes on. You might want to start adjusting your play style to that now as I suspect there will be more to come.

I’m going to jump in half way yhrough a conversation and won’t bother to understand context or read it and wade in with an incorrect assumption and just say words, and finish with a few more incorrect assumptions.

There was was no need to point anything out if you’d bothered to read any of what was said.

They don’t bug me, I never disagreed with the nerfs at all try reading instead of making assumptions.

  • I think the nerf is fine, but the idea of 15kBP is not bad at all. I personally would never buy a 15k addon lol.

Unless of cause your forced too because the entity has made it impossible to progress without buying it.
its completely fine if no one wants it now, I’m pretty sure that was the point anyway

You already have the means to remove scratch marks from the chase, it's called "Dance With Me" and it works very well - especially when paired with Lithe.

I agree, in the senirio your putting forward that any survivor using DS is never to be caught again the entire match, however it’s hardly a nerf to DS, I don’t know many player who would use it at the first chance unless they expected not to be saved in which case the result is the same

The nerf that I put forward is irrelevant, the point was to show the fact that after it gets nerfed, the consequence of using it would be much higher thus lowering its status as a crutch perk. The point behind this is to show that things like BBQ already have such consequences and so the validity of an argument that BBQ is a crutch perk and that killers cannot live without it is ludicrous. Killers use BBQ with the intent of being rewarded for not camping. Survivors use DS for the reward of.....dying?

I’ve already said that the consequence won’t stop it being used as a crutch because it’s not because of consequence or lack there of that makes it a crutch.

do you honestly believe that with the nerfs coming, that self care and sprit burst won’t still be used just as much?

I don’t because they aren’t crutches because of the the definition your using.

BBQ doesn’t have a consequence in the same way your defining the consequence for DS, what your referring to is circumstantial, not consequential.

Your suggesting a detriment to an advantage which negates the advantage, BBQ doesn’t have this, insta downs don’t have this. It’s not a comparison

but like I said it’s all subjective. Though a crutch is still a crutch no matter what downside or consequence you belive it to have over and against other crutches.

You've been coddled and you're entitled. No survivor should be able to loop a killer for three generators or more. The reason they can is due to exploit abuse (pallet looping) and OP perks. If your not a SWF group then you feel the same way without your crutch perks too, now your arguing my whole point

I say this quote as a fundamental flaw in the game system, I admit I did not make that clear in this post. BBQ is not a crutch because it requires an activation, and then a follow up on you behalf. Allow me to put it into a small list.

    Killer " crutches "

BBQ: Requires a survivor to be found, hooked and then requires you to leave the hook to follow up on the information you have been given

Mori: Requires a survivor to be hooked then unhhoked then downed again and finished. this also gives less points to the killer by the end of the match

Insta downs: Fundamental part of killer kits to add uniqueness.

Billy has very little control over where he moves during his sprint

Leatherface has to be up their ass for his chainsaw to do anything and is severely punished for bumping into a wall

Myers has limitations on how long he can insta down

NOED: Can be completely removed before it even triggers by destroying the totems on the map, thus it has a hard counter

    Survivor crutches

Decisive strike: Allows you to escape from being hooked. The consequence is meant to be that it is one time use, but one time use is enough to make killers lose games, so effectively no consequence

Self care: Infinite healing, no consequence at all

Flashlight: Allows players to save other players from killers, I guess the consequence is timing but that is easy to figure out and maintain

Sprint Burst: Immediate escape from the vicinity of a killer with the consequence only being a 40 second cooldown.

I could go on but you get the jist. The reason people may CONSIDER BBQ to be a crutch is because of how many killers use it. This however is because of the weakness of the killer vs survivor. if the game was balanced then I would bet anything that you would see BBQ much less

    Oh my god seriously:

you can apply any downside you want to these things using your argument.

Selfcare: you have to be found and hit before you can use it and requires an escape and to be out of sound radius.

DS: requires you to be downed and able to hit the skill check, once missed perk is gone and can’t be reused.

Concequence is subjective so isn’t a strong argument.

Buuuuuuut as I repeatedly try to explain the consequence is far, far, FAR lesser on survivor than killer

DS skillcheck is easy to hit

SC REMOVES the need for teamwork, eg. when you have been unhooked, you need no reliance on your team mates to heal you, you can just wander off yourself to do it

And as I’ve repeatedly said consequence is not a defining factor of a crutch

Well it is. Because tell me, if you used decisive strike, but after you used it the next time you were hooked you were dead immediately. Lets say this was implemented, would you still use DS? I doubt it because the CONSEQUENCE would be extremely high. You would have gone from being able to be hooked twice before the third kills you, to being hooked once immediately killing you

i would say those who use it would still use it just as much yes, because the majority will save it till last hook anyway, as they do now.

this is pointless, you’ve gone from one thing to the next moving the focus.

Fact is is they are killer crutches and no amount of redefining and staying the consequence levels are
worse will change this. The consequence may well be less and it could be easier to
counter, but it’s still a crutch

I feel I should post something here about the very apparent crutch argument that is happening here.

If a survivor uses DS as an example, they are using that perk because it is a powerful advantage with no consequence. They don't need to use it but they do because why the hell not.

If a killer uses BBQ, they are using that because they need to make as much out of the time they have as possible. Which I understand could be seen as crutch also.

The reason these two are different though is because of balance of the game: The crutch of DS is far more malicious than the crutch of BBQ.

Another important factor to look at is the ability to counter killer "crutch" perks vs survivor crutch perks.

NOED and BBQ both have counters whereas DS and SC do not, if they did, then the debate here would be different.

Nurses calling is a counter to selfcare.
Killers can block a DS in a corner rendering it useless, no hook mori counters this too.

Im pretty sure we are going to have a redefinition of the word consequence and counter now

Nurses is only a counter if they heal within your terror radius, which would be stupid on their behalf
And there is absolutely no garuntee that you will get a survivor in a corner for the DS to pop

NOED can only be countered if all the survivors cleanse which There is no guarantee will be done, BBQ you have to be right place right time to counter.

like ive said subjective arguments can’t be won, and your definition doesn’t stand as we can subjectively apply it to anything we want.

Concequence is subjective so isn’t a strong argument.

a crutch is something that is always used and is a staple part of a build. Concequeane is not a factor at all

^ tell another lie. They are indeed very crutch. I would bet you my bank account that without Moris, bbq and chilli, insta down mechanics , and NOED that killers wouldn’t have a third or more of the kill rates they do now without them. The only person you are smoke screening is yourself.

It’s simple if you stop changing the meaning of the word.
crutch: anything that serves as a temporary support.

BBQ falls directly into that definition, if it wasn’t so useful as a tracking perk it wouldn’t be the a staple of a killers build.

You are redefining staying I must give a down side to things at a detrimental level for it to be a crutch, your merly trying to get me to define something using your definition. Remember I didn’t disagree that the survivor perks were crutches I merly stayed the killers have the same, to which you argued and defined, I don’t agree with your definition, to do so I would have to say that the survivor perks aren’t crutches, which I do not.

A crutch is ANYTHING that serves as TEMPORARY support?

That is most perks in the game then

I’ve edit that, stop with the semantics, your definitions cover most of them too.

you see the same builds on killers over and over just like survivors, so too me they are crutches, I’m pretty sure that’s the standard definition of what people refer to as crutch.

i don’t run DS and never have. Slef care I do run because I don’t play SWF and trying to get a heal is a waste of time in most matches. Sprint burst is pointless to me as you can’t pick a trigger it just activates when it wants too, and there is no advantage of your hit before using it as you get the jolt for the same speed and time from the hit anyway so it negates it’s use there for me.

but I do 9/10 matches see the same build on killers and survivors, everymatch and that tells me they are preferred builds because they are relyed on and that’s why I define them as a crutch.

Oh so neither are the above mentioned for survivors just so you know, I forget how easy it is to just change the meaning of a word to suit your position  A crutch, is a perk or item that gives you power without consequence, BBQ you still have to chase survivors down and down them, it doesn't do it for you. Insta-downs have some sort of downsides to them, Billy his very liitle control during his sprint, Leatherface has tpo chase survivors down before his chainsaw is useful and Myers Insta down is limited. Speed add-ons are actually getting nerfed with tinkerer changes and even then, with speed add-ons you have to still meet the conditions of if you didn't have

No one ever defines a crutch as a consequence related thing. A crutch is something a person depends on hence the term crutch.

Yes' and this dependence comes from lack of consequence

Not at all, you can say they all have a degree of consequence, and therefore they can’t fall into your definition at all.

you defined limited which some of these are, you said they are being nurfed as are these so they no longer meet your definition

I would ask you then to tell me the consequence of Decisive strike, sprint burst and Self care, vs the consequence of BBQ and insta down attacks

I don’t need to you defined it yourself. You claim limited as a consequence and some of these are limited, you defined control as a consequence some of these can’t be controlled, you stated some were being nurfed and so are these, so by your own definition they aren’t crutches.

Billy himself is a crutch he’s pretty much all you see at high ranks? It’s relyed on and there for a crutch.

You can't make a statement and then ask the other person to come up with the reasoning behind it. If you cannot name the consequence for him why would he be inclined to defend your point of view? There is no consequence to DS. If you run DS you are A: Going to be ignored because a free escape isn't worth chasing you for, or B: Going to get slugged, giving you more time to be saved. SB gives you a free chance to start looping if you are found because the speed boost negates being caught off guard. It might limit your ability to run around when not in a chase but if you know the killer is chasing someone else then that 40s cooldown doesn't matter and you can run freely. I agree Dead Hard is fine the way it is and the exhaustion nerf hurts that perk most of all. Lithe lacks the initial speed boost from SB but vaults are very easy to find and on some maps where SB would cause you to lose the boost to speed Lithe gives you that amazing escape. Self Care means you can erase all negative effects from a chase if the killer looses you or gives up on you making him waste 100% of his time. If you had to find someone else to heal you then that would be wasting your teams time but self care negates even that possible downside.

BBQ and Chili requires you to hunt distant targets down who can A: Hide behind generators to avoid the aura or B: Just leave in a different direction after 3-4 seconds. BBQ only works well if the survivor you are after doesn't know you have the perk or isn't very good at basic strategy, making it possible to waste your time leaving a hook to find someone who is no longer there. Instant downs, NOED, only works at end game assuming the totems have not been destroyed. So its a perk that may not even have the opportunity to be used during a match and you cannot play around it being destroyed because you can't see the totems. If you are including limited add-ons in this argument (be they survivor or killer) I don't think that's a reasonable argument. The point of add-ons are to give you a fun reward for playing and finding the offering in a bloodweb. They are meant to be limited items that help twist a match or two. The only real problem here is that the game is 1 v 4 meaning you are more likely to have survivors using an amazing add on than a killer, that's a statistical fact.

So yes the survivor perks mentioned have far lower consequences (if any) then the killer perks being argued. And in the case where you get a BBQ billy on that huge open corn map (this instant I do see it being very strong) is incredibly rare and not something you can claim to be OP. The fact is this game will never find a perfect balance because the community is so unevenly split. You theoretically have 4 survivor oriented players per every 1 killer oriented player making opinions clash too frequently.

I didn’t ask him to reason it.
He already defined what he believes a crutch to be and therefore excluded my definition to fit his argument, I defined what I see as a crutch, he redefined my definition, and in doing so made the original statement void. First it was no consequence now it’s a comparable consequence.

Killer's speed only comes into play when you are running in a straight line. It's less impactful on repeated corners due to their slightly larger collision capsule and the way first person navigates.

A person like me who runs information gathering perks almost always knows where the killer is, and thus knows when to not leave scratch marks.

You’re original post was talking about during a chase! Not in general.
of your being chased you leave a trail behind you and if your escape perks can only be used once as you stated, then I said I’d agree if the scratch marks were removed from the chase not in general.

  • Funny, as somebody who prefers Lithe, I can't agree with you.

You say get better at hiding but that’s only viable if the killer depart know where the gens are else your just hiding while some killer runs from gen to gen.

tyme is a total ass hat who has delusions of grandeur, I had to stop following him on twitch as his stream turned into him boasting about how amazing he is and how he singlehandedly made the devs listen to his ideas and how they listen to his advise because he’s so amazing.

The reward was that you had access to the same DLC before everyone else got access to it.

No they bought it so they could be the ONLY ones to access it. What part of this is hard for you to grasp.
It wasn’t an early access purchase. They made pay to play a play to pay system

Honestly that was mostly a joke. I understand where you're coming from and you are correct, but it's worth noting that the devs are extremely likely to ignore this and pretend they never said anything like that.

Quite possibly, personally I don’t care either way. But when you have people rewarded for playing the game before the bloodweb was made easier, than for those actually paying for DLC are the people keeping this game supported

Every killer who plays to win will be thumbed down.

The ones who get thumbs up will be the killvivors - the ones who give free rescues, free hatches, second/third/fourth chances that baby survivors feel entitled to, etc. Basically the killers who just let survivors win every game.

Survivors need less power in the game, not more. Instead of helping them with a thumbs up/thumbs down rating, the post-game chat should be removed and the report form should be removed. From now on, only video evidence of hacking should be accepted as a valid reason for banning someone, everything else is fine or can be patched out. Survivors shouldn't be allowed to talk or rerport after the game because they only use it for abuse.

We don't need a thumb system to find people who disconnect. They do that already. There was a mass banning a while ago because of it. They just generally don't enforce the rule, for whatever reason (because they love cancer players who are killing this game, probably).

The system would be more automated and need no manpower to manage, But then this is why I said only 3 thumbs because then it wouldn't get used just because "jackanory" left me to die or camped me

Four toxic SWF players in a game, you camp one of them and what do the other three do? Report, thumbs down, friend request, insults, rage, forum posts, etc.

hence why I said there would have to be a sizeable amount of mark downs before it happened say 30 or 50 - you'd have to be pretty ######### to get that many surely?

Or just play a lot. I could get that in one day.

so you'd expect to get 50 thumbs down in a day? how many do you think you get currently?

If they are a killer main they have a chance to get 4 thumbs down per game so after 10 that’s a possible 40 marks from salty losers.
  • basically a Low Prio bracket for repeat offenders who receive x-amount of Thumbs Down and DCs

Never for a thumbs down, it’ll just be like a YouTube flag campaign. There will be no killers left if survivors can just down thumb to get then down a bracket

Bamboozle shouldn't be needed for it because this is a problem that killers face in every single game.

It should be automatic, like how The Entity blocks windows when you try to jump through them too many times.

Three loops of the same pallet and it gets blocked. Easy fix.

No.. if they remove the ability to loop a pallet then killers need there base speed adjusting to be the same as a survivors. Have you tried to escape by just running in a straight line? If so how did that go for you?
  • Just curious really on other peoples thoughts -

So you've just been hooked by the killer, first time (stage 1) - Do you :-1:

    a) Try for the 4% and get to Stage 2 faster
    b) Not press anything and just look around to figure out what them yellow jelly babies are doing dancing in front of your eyes
    c) Tap "Escape from hook" button when you are free to get and killer is around
    d) Tap "Escape from hook" button when killer is camping your face as a warning to let ppl know not to bother coming and your sitting there just wasting his time so ppl can Gen up and escape.

Personally if you do A - I tend to not bother coming to save you, but that's just my personal preference.

Depending on how many gens are done and the killer play style I do different things.

if no gens are done and no one is even attempting to do one I’ll go for the 4%

if it’s a camper I just hang as long as the rest are doing gens, if they are all creeping about the hook without the balls to even attempt I’ll go for the 4% and won’t struggle, the watch the reckage unfold.

i never do the waving thing

Can people intentionally DC in the beginning to cause you to lose your items and add ons. It happens too often when a group of us start with rare items. The match loads up and as soon as we see ourselves it dcs and we get no points and lose items.

Survivors do the same thing so stop acting like ONLY killers do it. In fact survivors dc more often then killers do it so therefore survivors have no right to complain.Get over it.

Well duh! It’s a 4-1, but to get the same effect as stated in the OP I doubt it’s more survivor than killer

Even if you consider the 4-1, there are a lot more survivor DCs than killer DCs

    Because it’s 4-1.
there are 400 survivors to every killer.
But a single survivor DCing doesn’t end the game only a killer can do this, so to stay on point to the OP, it’s obviously going to be a majority killer based issue.

If your looking at it on a singular basis than you have to count 1 killer DC as 5 DCs because they DCed 4 other people along with them
1 … 12 13 14 15 16 17
