I have never seen that on my game. I can change my player name in DBD if I wanted to every game. Where would I find this tag?
when you open your friends list, you can see a tag followed by an hashtag (#) with a code of four letters/numbers, that is your code. you search someone there with their code and you send them a request. that's it.

How does it work? I couldn't find my wife on her PSN account from my PC. Also, can you play with them? The notes didn't specify, only stating it's different from crossplay
After testing myself, we can send requests to people on console, but they can't see them yet since there is no crossfriends option on consoles yet.
nonetheless, this is a good thing, since they've synced every player in their database system, breaking barries to allow everyone to be linked. this is the ultimate step to make crossplay avaible really soon. let's stay tuned!
-
btw, i tested myself and we can send requests but they can't see them yet because there is no crossfriends enabled there, but since we can see every player on the database, this means that barriers are broken and we're all linked. let's stay tuned!

I feel like Switch is the forgotten console lmao.....I do not think Switch will be added into this function. I may be wrong. Does anyone know if Switch is included into this? I know you can switch you player name on the fly on switch so how would you add a switch friend from another system?
Thanks for any info anyone can give. =)
yeah, it will

you can send the request, but they can't see it from console, well, guess we gotta still wait.

i'll try later, friend's currently offline.

Atm they are testing console on console I believe
how do you know? and i'm on PC like i said and i can add people from consoles.

imagine how many varieties of combo, builds and stuff you can do if a "kill with your friends" mode would exist. yeah, that would split up the community, but we have crossplay coming and i'm sure a 2 killer mode would drag more players in the dbd community, ofc, this would take time, since they have to balance and rework some perks to let them be balanced in this mode.

ill help you my dude
thank you dude. but it isn't about me, but about people bad at the game that want to get better without relying on others.
-
@zoozoom6 said:
what about kill your friends?
not everybody has the chance to have friends online or willing to train for them. better to have a single player mode with bots that allows the player to train peacefully, without having to bother someone and do it everytime he feels to. even in offline mode.
-
yeah, but think about sweaty tryhards giving no peace or breath to survivors that try to learn the game (or viceversa). there should be smth offline to let people train or maybe just for people that want to have some fun playing with AI rather than real people.
-
nice bait
i played 4 matches with oni and i got 4 times in a row bad survivors, they couldn't even get 1 single gen done.
as soon as i played nurse, which i don't play her since weeks, i got sweaty rank 1 survivors.
even as a survivor, you meet braindead people and killers have barely yellow perks. they messed up everything again. it's reverse time!
-
top tier bait

Patch notes: fixed an issue where it was possible to play as killer
Patch notes: fixed an issue where killers could possibly exist in the game.
-
2.8 GB update, lol
-
why should it be buffed? if you decide to bring "object of obsession" you gotta take responsibility about the fact the killer can see you, it's a perk that cuts both way. is he a stealth killer? good, shame on you for using such a toxic perk, now you accept your responsibility.
-
only a guy being destroyed by edgy SWFs could complain like this. remember you're the killer and if they play rough, you can play rough as well. there is no need to follow the survivor rulebook or fall for their baits. you're solo and you gotta do whatever it takes to win, even if that means playing "dirty".
-
"another baby killer who needs noed to win"

Thanks for getting me up to speed you youngin lol =)
glad to have helped you :)
-
everybody talks about springtrap, but i wanna think it's candyman, since his movie is coming out in september
-
yeah, i made a post about this. pretty disappointing, considering they deliberately said "we're making chase themes as soon as we rework old killers" just empty words.

I am slow and old so have to ask what is BMing?
bad manners, like teabagging, nodding, spamming gestures, camping, facecamping, etc...
-
"when you down a survivor, don't you dare nodding or BMing him after he kept you for 4 gens and teabagged you for the whole chase"
-
i like your points, but i'd rather have Candyman for chapter 17
-
should we even take this post seriously?

I can't tell on this. On PS4, you can still access players profiles in the pre-game lobby, but post-game you can't. It might be intended to stop the toxic messages, but console can still access the profiles via the 'Recently played with' menu.
i can look at pre-lobby too, but can't on endgame. on steam, you can't see anymore the recent players, so i guess they don't want us to comment "-rep" on other profiles, lol.

It is and has been happening for quite some time. I've been playing with console users for months as apparently indicated by the little 'world' logo over their names.
those were windows store players.

yeah, i just got the update. Have fun guys!

I’ve managed to run into a hacking nurse on console one day - joy oh joy lol
that was when they were testing the crossplay and people could use hacks to force their way in console servers.
if you wanna know the silver lining, they all got banned the day after, so take a breath and relax, even if people cheats, this ain't VAC, easy anticheat works better and after 24h, they go to hell, where they belong. (unless they are so keen on wasting money rebuying the game to make devs richer lol)
-
i'd like to think they know what they're doing if they chose to introduce crossplay.
-
look, i can understand the FPS drop thing and the optimization problems, maybe i don't know how it feels like on console, but don't expect it to be extremely perfect on PC, i get my lag spikes too sometimes.
i'm assuming they are gonna fix optimization issues on console if they announced crossplay right in this year, i'm not saying you should keep your expecations high, but let's hope they decided to introduce crossplay as a precondition to the optimization fix.
-
@xBEATDOWNSx said:
I play on Xbox One X. Crossplay is something ive wanted between CONSOLES. The performance on console vs PC is night and day. If they want to implement crossplay between console and PC, fine but they definitely need to optimize the game on consoles first. Stable frames are a good start.
why should it be "console only"? i want to play with my friends on console and just because we use a different input or have "better optimizations" doesn't mean we don't get to play with other platforms
-
same, i'm trying to understand what is that
-
i'm answering to everyone complaining about hackers:
Now, i've never denied that there have been hackers on PC, but the only times it occured in my experience, it was in the free weekends, when people weren't afraid of getting banned and could create dozens of accounts to cheat, but for else, i play regulary dbd everyday and i barely meet a cheater, i mean, in 4 years, i barely met some of them. if u wanna talk about cheating, then you should check CSGO, there you can complain about PC hackers.

I know, mother, but it wouldn't be difficult to allow such an option.
Yeah, i know but u ever played modern warfare? they just allow you to put it on/off, you can't choose your favorite platform, time to get used to PC players. if they would allow smth like that, what's the point of crossplay then? more like "half crossplay"
-
@Yamaoka said:
Some console players probably feel it's unfair to play against people with twice the fps. Also literally all hackers are on PC (including those that appear in console lobbies with hacked Crossplay). That's two things people on console MAY want to avoid.
Personally I couldn't care less about crossplay as I don't care too much about in-game results. I just enjoy DBD for the gameplay and can't wait to scare some people as Pyramid Head.
i've 1200 hours and in my 1500-2000 matches, i barely met 4-5 of them overall. people complaining about hackers on this game are just fools, they should go check CS hackers, then we'll talk again. Besides, i just told it should be ok if optimizations occur and they get to play with M&K as well like us, so what's the matter again?
-
@DetailedDetriment said:
Great! Now just let me choose who I crossplay with. As a PS4 player, I only want to play with Xbox, not PC.
i'm afraid you can't choose sweetheart, get used to play with PC players or just opt-out and stay in ps4 servers.
-
i hope there isn't a way to choose which platform to remove, so they're forced to leave it "on" because if they turn it off, they can't play with nobody else.
