Huntress deals immediate damage with her hatchets. 🪓 The unknown takes up to 3 hits before he downs you if you don’t remove weakness.

    Is huntress an issue then?

If Huntress had an addon that made her take 3 hatchets to down someone, but made her hatchets explode in such a big range AND the explosion goes through walls...

Yes. Huntress would be an issue.

Unknown doesn't even need to farm the bloodweb for such a stong addon. It comes basekit.

The Killer doesn't "know" when and where you're dispelling, it's just bad luck or good guesses.

It happens often enough for me to question it.

I still don't think it should be able to teleport during the dispel process if dispelling them is such a crucial requirement from the survivors.

...your going to need to explain that one to us.

If your talking about how since not everyone wanting to run those perks would seemingly invalidate that argument you'd be incorrect as since even if survivors don't want to run it, they can coordinate and rig it and that would not be due to simple luck.

    What are you on about?

FOUR Survivors can, right now, in the game of Dead By Daylight, choose to team up together and all equip Distortion.

By your logic, the killer's perk Lethal Pursuer is wasted and they have a bad start.

If that's the case then WHY does it matter if 4 survivors equip Distortion BEFORE a change is made to it or AFTER, if doing so meant the killer has a bad start?

  • The counterplay to The Unknown is too obnxious.

It's a tradeoff, I get it. Either let the killer have good map control or give the killer free passive game slowdown trying to dispel.

Here's the thing. It's not just good map control, it's stupidly strong and oppressive map control. Dispelling is often a MUST. Now add on top of that minutes of blindness and/or exhaustion every time you dispel (thanks to addons). Now get interrupted and immediately lose a health state because the killer pushed a button. (How does the killer know WHEN I'm dispelling and WHICH hallucination I'm interacting with??)

If hallucinations are going to remain such a strong mechanic, then remove the Unknown's ability to teleport to hallucinations that are being actively dispelled. 🤦‍♂️

  • Okay...

Then that logic also applies to your statement when you say "if everyone runs the perks then the killer has a bad start."

  • @tjt85 said:

The new Invocation perk is weak, so let's nerf the only good thing the Legion have going for them? That's an interesting take...

The only strong aspect to The Legion's power is the uncounterable information that it gives you. Otherwise, they're just a basic attack Killer with the ability to injure multiple Survivors quickly (but only if the Survivors make the mistake of grouping up, which they shouldn't be doing against a Legion).

I think they're one of the worst Killers in the game right now. If anything they need some buffs.

"if the Survivors make the mistake of grouping up"

I have no control over my teammates. I cannot create a force field to keep them away from me.

That doesn't matter. If you are being griefed report them. Removing useful information to help team play in soloq is a bad way to deal with griefers.

When I said "it's not about the specifics," I was implying that the perk doesn't have to have its useful information removed.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3675967#Comment_3675967

Report the griefers. People griefing you for experimenting with a new perk is not a valid reason to remove useful information the perk provides especially when it's likely the perk will see tweaks in the future since BHVR is being extra cautious with the values of it.

    It's not about the specifics.

The big main takeaway from this topic is what I stated. Invocation: Weaving Spiders is the new No Mither and other surviors are more inclined to grief you if you have it.

I'll add it to my original post to make it clear.

  • @Crowman said:

Are we going to remove perks like Bond and Kindred too? Since griefers could use it to bring the killer to you.

That's not the issue. (Though, I have already suggested a perk that would prevent aura-based griefing without neutering Bond, Kindred, etc.) The killer cannot read the survivors aura at all, at the cost of survivors being unable to read the user's aura either.

The problem is that Invocation: Weaving Spiders is the new No Mither (other surviors are more inclined to grief you if you have it).

  • By the time I realized Sable was in a chase and it was up to me to get the unhook, she was already kiting him into me. Why? Probably because I wasn't hooked yet, even though I was able to safely unhook survivors multiple times because Distortion hid my aura when the Clown used his aura-reading addon (while inside yellow gas) to check near the hook before leaving it.

Doesn't matter. I'm not cheating or breaking the rules. Even if I were, that does not make griefing excuseable.

I almost never play on SWF. And when I do, it's only 2 or 3 of us with one being a complete newbie.

Anyway, I think it's far healthier to focus on what you can control and try to observe what you can improve on. Your current mindset gives me the impression that you're actively hunting for excuses to blame your teammates. I've played 1,000 hours, and I can count on one hand the amount of times a teammate has purposefully led the killer to me.

Sable's not teaming up with the killer to grief me. This clip is just a mindset, not an experience...

3 subjectively bad games out of how many games??? and how are you determining they're running to you? It's one thing for a chase to be near shack and they inevitably go there and it's another if you're telling me they bolt from across the map to shack and then I'd wonder how you even knew this was the case?

So to prevent bad luck you want either a bad case start for the killer (if everyone runs either or, then everyone rigs it so the game starts with everyone away from each other and can work on 4 separate gens with little to no risk of three genuine themselves) or to nerf tracking perks when needed the most (lethal in particular would be crippled with the second choice).

Instead of having it to chance or ability, you want the above because you don't want any risk to rng. That's what we see.

If everyone ran Distortion/Calm Spirit, I wouldn't be making this post...

  • @Rulebreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3675893#Comment_3675893

Then bolt further away. That literally just sounds like bad luck that they found you while looking for Adam. I notice a tracking perk go off I treat the other survivors like plague puked on them, sometimes I get unlucky sometimes it works.

Wouldn't quite call it QoL, just a solution to a unfavorable situation. Wouldn't mind giving the shroud to survivors but adding the effects listed is a why situation. Especially since adding the perk effect one nerfs lethal unnecessarily.

    Yes, bad luck.

The changes I suggested prevent this bad luck.

  • @Crowman said:

Calm Spirit and Distortion do not counter the killer having eyes.

Ultimate Weapon and Lethal Pursuer are for killers who don't/can't use their eyes to find survivors.

The killer could have either perk, so I need to waste TWO perk slots to counter lazy killers getting easy info.

I wouldn't have to dodge the killer's eyes if they didn't come my direction because of ANOTHER survivor spawning next to me.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

...not to sound too offensive here but this is literally the 3rd post I've read from you that's suggested changes that only really affect you...

Like the above said, if distortion goes off and your next to someone, sneak away. If someone screams, sneak away. Do something yourself instead of asking for a unnecessary change.

Adam screamed next to me at the start of the match. That means the killer is 32m away. We did not spawn with any good cover around. I tried to crouch walk away. The killer found me, not Adam.

My perk successfully countered Ultimate Weapon, but the game just keeps spawning me next to other survivors at the start of the trial and rendering my perks useless.

I'm not asking for insane buffs or reworks. Just some simple quality of life changes.

If I had access to the Shroud of Separation offering as a survivor, I WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION MYSELF...

    ----

And of course my suggestions affect me.

WHO in this fourm is posting suggestions, saying "Hey, I steamrolled as this killer using these perks, can the devs please nerf me and my playstyle, k thnx!"

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    Learn to play against him.

Killer is extremely weak if you do look at him while he is charging his power. Not only you will be removing the weakened effect from yourself but you will also be able to dodge the projectile since it takes too much time to charge up and shoot.

His teleportation power is easily denied if you keep dispelling his hallucination clones asap. Even in loops, his power is often unreliable and is easy to dodge.

His most strong suite is ability to damage through walls and apply pressure from distance. So long as you don't hug walls too much and keep him in check, he is another M1 killer with nothing distinguishable from other M1 killers. In fact, he might be worse than some M1 killers on many maps simply because how slow and dodgy his power can be.

    "apply pressure from a distance"

You mean proxy camp or tunnel/trade from anywhere on the map?

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Or just run away from the other survivors when you see Lethal go off?

Distortion suppresses your scratch marks as well, so you should be able to do that pretty easily.

If the killer's coming my way then they are very likely to see me running. They will definitely target me, knowing I have Distortion, because I will be harder to find later if they DO let me go.

  • Why?

Because of that new stupid perk... "Spend 100+ seconds in the basement equipping No Mither"

The killer knows I'm in the basement because of aura reading, so I have to equip Distortion.

The killer interrupts the invocation and knows I'm in the basment because I screamed, so I have to equip Calm Spirit.

Killer instinct tells the Legion that I'm in the basement and there's nothing I can do about it.

  • Killer instinct CANNOT be countered by survivor perks. It either needs a counter or needs to be toned down on Legion.

  • I was interrupted due to screaming as well. I threw on Calm Spirit to invoke in peace. Sheva's skin for Jill Valentine has built in Iron Will with how quiet her grunts of pain are, so it frees up a perk slot for Calm Spirit.

You really should make something different to fix that kind of problem, survivors who has weird magnetic polarity does get WORSE if you remove aura perks.

    I disagree.

I recently did a test. When I equipped 4 perks that reveal my location (Aftercare, Blood Pact, Better Together, Empathic Connection), the kiting/sandbagging got far WORSE. It was more common and easier for them to pull off.

It's solo queue. "Every survivor for themself" turns survivors into drowning victims: they're desparate and will not hesitate to drag you under with them.

  • Killers should be able to exit the match when the gates are opened. No dc penalty.

Survivors should be able to exit the match while their character is being mori'd. No dc penalty.

  • @elderwitcher96 said:

Just push them out of the gates, they'll leave unless they want to be hooked. Like seriously get some thicker skin guys.

    Or...

The survivors could just exit the match, unless they want to be hooked. (Never happens, yet killers are expected to give hatch when they stomp? The hypocrisy...)

  • @BlightedTrapper said:

Removing valuable information from the team just to hinder rare griefers isn't a great idea. These people could just as easily run Bond and lead the killer to you every time. Would you suggest they remove that effect as well?

I have suggested that before, yes!

Give me a perk that has some strong upside to it, at the cost of NOT letting my teammates see my aura! Maybe a permanent Distortion effect... NO ONE can read my aura, ever.

Also, I'm sure it's easy to say "rare griefers" if you play in SWF all day. I only play solo. The survivors I'm stuck with are allergic to gens and magnetically attracted to my location, intentional or otherwise.

  • While you're at it, remove the Broken status...

Either remove it from the perk or stop the Broken status from even appearing on the killer's HUD. (Then change No Mither: start the trial healthy, become broken once injured.) Stop showing killers this status effect!

Completing the incantation TELLS THE KILLER EXACLTY WHERE YOUR (permanently) INJURED BEHIND IS!

  • Hallucinations within 32m of the hook should automatically be dispelled when the Unknown hooks.

EVERY SINGLE Unknown is playing him like a 4.6 m/s teleport-to-the-unhook Hag.

What are survivors supposed to do? Not unhook and sit on gens?

Run up to the hooked survivor and wait for another survivor to go down first, just like Pinhead's obnoxious puzzle box??

  • Pulled off a successful Weaving Spiders, stayed alive for about 8-10 minutes before dying, died and got ~7,000 Bloodpoints. It's ridiculous.

The perk should give more bloodpoints for succesfully completing, or it could give a Bloodpoint bonus multiplier like old We're Gonna Live Forever.

  • @UndeddJester said:

I always seem to get bad luck vs. Nemesis'... I dunno what it is, and I actually like facing him, but for some reason that guy always has Lethal Pursuer, and always guns for my posterior every time 😳

    Oof.

Everytime I successfully block Lethal Pursuer with Distortion, the game spawns a survivor next to me and the killer usually comes my direction anyway.

When will they flip the effects of Shroud offerings so that survivors can start the match split up?

  • A) It's not an anti-camp feature. It's an anti-face-camp feature for killers (mostly Bubbas) who stand right next to the hook.

    B) Skull Merchant is far less oppressive on Gideon Meat plant than she used to be, now that her drones do not go through multiple floors. (Yet Boons still do?? 😒)

    C) Any killer can proxy camp. Her drones only injure if the survivors have messed up on 3 serparate occasions and only apply hinder if they have a fully active claw trap on them (from getting scanned 3x, so 4+ scans).

    D) At least your teammates can SEE the drones and crouch / stop moving when the scan is about to pass over them. It's better than Hag's power since the survivors cannot easily spot her marks and the Hag can proxy camp WHILE patrolling gens 48 meters away...

  • Implementing this seems easy enough, and I'm all for it.

However, we have to think about all the map offering players have been stockpiling over the years. All those indoor map offerings stealthy killers have been hoarding will now be useless. Same with the Garden of Joy offerings survivors have been grabbing up.

The devs will need additional time to devise a tool to calculate and redistribute map offerings in player's inventories. Either they add up each character's total number of map offerings owned and redistribute them equally (and each player has somewhere between 10 to 40 characters, and there are thousands and thousands of players).

Or they just calculate an average number of map offerings based on play time. (A player with 700 hours should have roughly x number of map offerings, so we will divide that number up between each of their owned characters.) But they would also have to consider prestige levels. A player wouldn't want all of their map offerings from their P100 survivor main to be distributed to all the survivors they don't play.

I think it's about time they let all characters (survivors and killers) share the same offering pool (Black Wards, White Wards, and Moris would be in the same pool, but only equippable for the appropriate role). Then they can redistribute map offerings based on play time and have map offerings deny a realm instead of guarantee it. Plus, it would finally bring value to shroud offerings and allow killers to make survivors start together or allow survivors to start the trial split up.

  • @Venusa said:

There are different ways to play for hatch while also being a good teammate that your randoms will want to see survive. If you are playing a solo survivor build and you're not doing gens or taking chases when you're needed to you're probably right, your teammates are going to rat you out.

If you're playing solo queue you should focus on learning how to counter killers and running loops more than surviving. Once you're running killers for 2 to 3 gens everyone on your team will stop what they're doing to come save you... which is also not great for team survival but your chances of escape are likely to go up.

    No, I get that.

Just sucks that taking 0 chases or going for 0 unhooks are not against the rules, yet the other survivors are free to break the rules if they feel you aren't carrying enough weight??

  • Give her iri addon the Deathslinger treatment. His addon does not insta-down if the shot lands within 16 meters.

Make Huntress's 1-shots only work with fully charged shots against survivors who are 16m away from the Huntress and 8m away from a hooked survivor. (Maybe that 2nd part is unneccessary if survivors can manage to bait the Huntress into throwing and unhooking while she's fully charging up her next shot.)

  • First, they should inverse map offerings so that the offering prevents you from going to a specific realm rather than guaranteeing it.

Then they can add a mini-penalty for disconnecting during the load screen.

  • @Moz said:

I'll share a secret about solo queue. Start running a solo escape build. If you go on a losing streak the survivors you get paired with are going to typically get worse and worse. The only way to start getting competent teammates again is to get your escape rate up. There is a trade off to this though. If you start escaping too much you'll tend to get the bad survivors again to start balancing out your escape success.

You'll eventually get survivors who catch on to you. They will not hesistate to work with the killer to get you killed. Trust me.

  • I spawned near Ace and he hopped on a gen right away. He immediately got chased off of it and I either had to wait for him to take the killer away or I had to run to the other corner of the map to start working on a different gen. Meanwhile, the other 2 had yet to touch a gen.

What happens when the Ace finally takes the killer away and I hop on the gen he started? Ace kites the killer right back into the ONE person doing gens. Killer got a 4k at 5 gens.

The other two spawned in the same corner as Ace and I. The other two were afraid to work a gen while inside the killer's terror radius, and I don't blame them. Look what happened to me when I tried to.

    ----

It all boils down to tunneling ruining the game. Being tunneled out of the match is frustating and miserable.

Getting caught = getting tunneled out after. Don't get caught.

Hopping on gens straight away or working a gen near a chase = caught.

BUT... Avoiding the killer = killer can't find new chase after hook. Returns to hook.

Returning to hook = tunneling or trading. Trading also sucks.

Don't unhook and the killer can't trade. Survivor left on hook until killer chases someone else. No one chased = left to die on first hook.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/406148/delete-the-legion

Legion is one of the weakest killers in the game, you completely counter his power by doing what you should do in any match, just spread out... If you need help with that just run bond and as soon as someone comes to your Gen just go to another one... It is really not that hard if you have some clue what you are doing... Against people who are remotely decent he will almost never get a down with his power and aside from that just plays like any other medium sized m1 killer...

And how do I change perks mid-match to equip Bond AFTER the match starts?

  • The map offerings should have the inverse effect. Burning a map offering means you WON'T be sent to that map.

"But what about players who have been stockpiling maps they WANT to go to while AVOIDING grabbing offerings from the bloodweb that they DON'T want to go to?"

Well, the devs should make a tool to average out each player's map inventory for a fresh balanced start.

  • @monochromeworld said:

Then remove his wallhacks and buff him

  • At least Skull Merchant's wallhacks are fair. If she has wallhacks on you it's becuase you messed up, not because she simply found one of your nearby teammates.

  • And don't start with the "just play as Legion to learn how to counter them."

I have played as Legion. He stomps solo q and gets destroyed by coordinated SWF who have any decent looping capabilities. There's nothing to learn.

  • If it were a cartoon that came to life, and its creator tried fighting it off with an axe before losing, and the cartoon took over the creator's body, distorting it in the process, it would be scary as.

But with the way it was teased, I was expecting something along the lines of a scrawny skin-walker crawling around or an unsettling creature like the screaming mutant bear in Annihilation mimicing humans.

  • They missed an opportunity to put the killer perk Iron Maiden in the Shrine of Secrets this week.

  • Meg's unique ability is her grunts of pain being audible halfway across the map. (When are they going to equalize audio across all the survivors so that Meg isn't an ambulance and Ace isn't a ninja? I would like to play as Meg more often without feeling like I'm playing on hard mode if I don't also equip Iron Will.)

What's something they could add that won't affect how long it takes to churn out new content?

  • The fix they implemented was not for 3-gens, it was for the killer using 3-gens to take the game hostage until the server ended the match and made all the survivors lose.

Survivors can still 3-gen themselves, so it would not be fair to punish the killer for that.

Even if the killer gets lucky with a tight cluster of gens (and survivors are unable to make 5% worth of repairs because it's a Hillbilly using endless chainsaw sprints to keep survivors off the gens), the gens will eventually regress to 0% and the survivors can start the progress anew, eventually leading to the killer kicking it and getting blocked from the Entity.

  • A banner/emblem would be nice. Gives the survivors who purposefully give up on hook something to look at on the way out of the match.

I'm still hoping that BeHaviour works with Warner Bros to bring The Terminator into DbD, and that we also get a T-X legendary skin for Skull Merchant with it. The T-X was the female terminator and her human disguise is very similar to Skull Merchant's style.
