  • there another thing to note, if the killer 16 comes out in June because there are already killer 17 files if the killer 17 that should come out in over 5 months? I am convinced that hellraiser will be released in May, that's why there are already killer 17 files, which will be ghostface and will be released in June instead, and among other things there are not even references to survivor, which instead were there when they were leaked krueger for example.. this makes me think that we will have a paragraph of hellraiser and not a chapter

The killer 17 folder is empty ... but I have to confirm that there are 5 power audio files in the killer_16, I was also looking in the event info file of killer / powers and others and yes, I found the power linked or As it has been called "OMAN" the events of this power is what I have already posted.

@Th3Nightmare tell me something, what is the .pak file to extract? the last time I entered the game files there was only one .pak file, but now there are more than thirty

Killer 16 audios is Oman (maybe Pinhead), 17 is unknown but it's planned.

    17 killer audios are empty.

Maybe after PTB the Killer_16_Menu - will be with audio.

Survivor can be Kirsty but can be also Paragraph without survivor.

so the two files 17.bnk are empty? is nothing written? not even a word or phrase?

i have another question: there are something of similar in folder of survivor? for example survivor_18.bnk or similar?

  • yes survivor, I thought of that too

but I have another thing to ask, in the folder there are files of the killer 16 and killer 17, but we are still at the killer 15, and the next one will be the 16 .. so in which of the 4 files are the strings of Oman? and what's in the others?

I wanted to point out something to you:

these are those dedicated to the killer 17, we read an STLK that stands for Stalk, and then an Exposed, which means the possibility of Oneshot with durations, for example the start of the stalk lasts 10 seconds so how long the related audio effect, the audio effect of the "spot", I presume when he sees you, it lasts 5 seconds, the audio effect of the exposed that lasts 5 seconds, the audio effect of the available stalk which lasts 1.7 seconds, and then there are these two strings that differentiate the type of stalk, one called STLK_SVR, and the other STLK_KLR which both last 8.2 seconds.

STLK_KLR could stand for stalk_killer making it clear that at that moment he can oneshottare, but what do you think STLK_SVR can stand for?

If you look into the SteamDB you will find two tables under stats about the achievements. The first one shows the API name with the Display Name, Icon and description. The second table lists internal values/stats related to the achievement.

There you will see that Ash's achievements api name are ACH_CHAPTER12_SURVIVOR_1 etc. And if you look down the second table you will only find the typical stats for chapter12, which means there are values for a chapter12 killer and another map achivement as well.

That's what he means. For some reason Ash's achievements are referenced as part of chapter 12 internally so far.

Behaviour having a secret project with Lionsgate doesn't necessarly mean it has to be DbD related. It doesn't have to be, but it's possible, that it's a separate project. Could be even mobile related or something like that. Of course it's possible, but it doesn't have to be.

I saw what you mean, interesting..

about the project with lionsgate, lionsgate produced hellraiser in 2018, so it could be the pinhead of their film what we will have in the paragraph dedicated to him..

  • @Delfador said:

@Niitosky On PC, there are 2 more survivors than killers (Bill and Ash). What he is trying to say is that the Devs might want to introduce a paragraph killer without a survivor to balance both sides.

There is also a leatherface paragraph but the game had 4 original survivors and 3 original killers. So even if we include leatherface, survivors still have 1 more survivor than killers on consoles, 2 more survivors than killers on PC (Bill is not playable on consoles)

yes i understood what you say, but based on theory that on pc we have 2 more survivor than player on console, so the next two dlc have only killer?

however the theory that dlc on hellraiser is only a paragraph makes sense, because as I said before, the map would be difficult to do, and even as a survivor, there is no iconic one, there is kirsty but we are not at the levels of a Laurie with Myers or a Sidney with Ghostface to give an example, also because, do you remember that when audio files or text files were leaked on the new dlc, was there something also in reference to the survivor? instead this time there are audio and text files only referring to the killer, it will mean something

  • @LordziPL said:

Pinhead can be: Paragraph because of Survivor +2 more than killer and Ash named Chapter12Survivor in SteamDB or Chapter 12 with Kirsty/Amy.

and yes, the sounds correspond with the movie

you have view the film of 2018? if yes, if the DLC is based on that film, which could be the survivor and the map?

  • @YearOfThePigNerf said:

I'm hoping for Skinless Julia as the killer. Pinhead I don't think fits the left mouse killer idea.

Hope it's not Hellraiser though as Lionsgate are holding that franchise hostage, taking random scripts and just throwing pinhead in so they don't lose the rights.

Behaviour have a secret project with lionsgate, and lionsgate have produced hellraiser: judgement in 2018, so if we'll have a Hellraiser DLC, in my opinion, this will be based on film released in 2018, produced by lionsgate

Maybe. They could release him like they did leatherface. But we just got Ash, a stand alone survivor, which evens out the roster DLC wise. A half chapter on both sides. I don't know if they would release another killer without a survivor.

it is precisely because we had a dlc with only the survivor, it would make sense to do another with only the killer to make a "complete chapter"

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

i dont think it will be Pinhead since theres no survivor that could fit in the chapter it will be scream since theres alot of proofs

but why don't you read what is written? if it were pinhead it is obvious that it will be a PARAGRAPH as Leatherface, and not a Chapter, wake up..

  • guys, can anyone find videos on youtube where there are sounds that may resemble those leaked in dbd files?

  • @SmokePotion said:

nah, the guy who holds the copyright for Scream was all over twitter hinting at Ghostface in DBD, and then suddenly he deleted all his tweets and stuff.

He even tweeted at the guy he promised could make the announcement about ghostface joining dbd by saying "hey you get to announce some ghostface news at the end of may, always keep your promises."

    (that's a paraphrase, i don't have photo-perfect memory)

It's clear the copyright holder got a little to excited and got told to stop posting, especially after these forums started talking about it, and Pauly's video highlighted it for the data-mining community.

in fact will be ghostface in dbd, but a june as a Chapter. Hellraiser will be a Paragraph, a chapter wouldn't make sense because you don't have an iconic survivor as for example sidney in Scream, and even the map would be impossible to do

  • @liviu1911 said:

also, from your image link. we can see it's fake, since in dbd, killers are actually called Slashers. at least in internal files. :D

if you don't believe it go see yourself in the game files :)

do you think is the first time sounds are leaked?

Who were they supposed to get for the Saw DLC, if not Amanda? An old guy with a cloak isn't scary, and he doesn't do the heavy lifting in any of the movies, so it's either Pig (a recognizable part of the films) or those other random disciples, Hoffman and the doctor guy.

The point is that after the first teaser dedicated to the chapter of Saw, people expected everything except the Pig, which also appears little in the movies..

So.. i hope that in the hellraiser dlc we have a pinhead

  • In my opinion, Hellraiser will be a DLC Paragraph, because Pinhead don't have a unique enemies as, for example, ghostface with Sidney. And with this, is explaine even why this sound not remember Ghostface, and why the number of the killer is 16 because this is a sound of a Hellraiser Paragraph, that, in my opinion, will released before the dlc of June, and in June will be a announcement of Ghostface DLC.

I hope only that, if there is a paragraph of Hellraiser, that the killer is Pinhead and not a useless cenobit.. as example what happened with a Saw DLC..

well, if you see the vid that started this whole thing. It's pretty obvious. Guy who holds copyright for Ghostface was asked if he would consider putting him in DBD. Copyright holder said he would consider it, and if it happens, that guy could make the announcement.

Much later he announced that new ghostface info would be dropping next month (as in may 2019.. I think it was may 27th, but i don't have the vid up to confirm exact date) and the guy who asked about DBD would be making the announcement, so as to keep his promise.

exactly, but in my opinion, in may 28th the announce will be a season 3 of scream with a collaboration of RJ Torbert, and then, a chapter on this.

  • @SmokePotion said:

yeah our next liscensed DLC is Scream.

I just... ######### is the killer power going to be? Are we getting the first killer that can hide in closets?

is not obvious is scream, also because the audio leaked in the last hours look like hellraiser.. I think it could also be that hellraiser is the killer 16 but stand alone as leatherface, and the killer 17 is the chapter with ghostface, map and survivor.. hmm..

  • ah well yes, the only "problem" would be the survivor and the map, yes..

While the above link is just the box office revenue you can see domestically it does really well and not far off international, the US generally is the largest country for most movie sales of any country bar a few movies which have really done well in China.

In terms of the profit from the movies that could also be more domestically as I am pretty sure international movies ask for more profit from the actual movie theatres and also you have to take into account what they pay for advertising campaign's in each of those international countries.

There is of course streaming and retail sales profits along with merchandise to consider but I would guess the US also has the largest single market share with those.

Do you have any idea how big the USA's market is? Why would they deprive themselves of it and be met with outcry from them? It's a losing move.

you are right but on the name of jason voorhees make a lawsuit for that too? because in reality, even in the first film of 1980, the dying is called jason voorhees, so who should have the rights?

because the question then is all about the name, because if the rights of the field and the mother has a person, and the name of the killer and the mask has another, if they do not make a deal will never get out

It is finished in the sense Miller won the suit and got the rights to the original film and F13th name in the US, he can make a F13th movie with Jason Vorhees for domestic purposes but he cant use the look of the charcter portrayed in any movie after that first one.

Horror inc can portray the look of the characters after the first one and use the name Jason Vorhees but cannot reference the F13th brand name, unless its for international release.

There are still many obstacles to overcome and make it all come together and tbh it looks like both parties will have to come to some sort of agreement or a worldwide F13th movie Iconic Jason may never come to light, as I said its a mine field and I dont see why anyone would want to get involved with such a mess right now.

The more I read about the situation the more complicated it gets.

at this point I wonder, if the rights that received miller are completely useless for the purpose of a new film / new project (since it can't publish outside the US) what was the usefulness of this legal case? What has earned us?

The lawsuit was concluded last year with Victor Miller being awarded the rights, horror Inc appealed but recent reports have said they have withdrawn it, that's not to say they wont launch an appeal again at some point.

ok thanks but Miller had the rights only on the Friday of 1980 or even all the other films? And then, if the lawsuit is over, then why the Friday the 13th game can not receive new content?

  • @Okapi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343734#Comment_343734

The thing is now Horror Inc. can't release any material inside the states that uses the words Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees, Camp Crystal Lake, or Pamela Voorhees without involving Miller .

Sure they could release a movie with the iconic Jason look but they couldn't use his name. Talk about awkward.

They should swallow their pride and get Miller on board with the future of franchise. Miller has said he wants to see more movies and games. The ball is in Horror Inc.'s court right now.

Yes, but what does it matter to them? just publish it anywhere except in the united states, and you've solved it. Among other things, jason voorhees as far as I understand belongs to horror inc, miller has only the rights of pamela and jason as a child, but of jason voorhees adult no

  • that is, the one that comes out without damage is always the horror inc. since he still has the rights to the jason character, he just needs to do any project that isn't published in the united states and they have solved it

miller can't do anything in practice, not even with the rights he has acquired

  • at this point I wonder, if the rights that received miller are completely useless for the purpose of a new film / new project (since it can't publish outside the US) what was the usefulness of this legal case? What has earned us?

i bet they'd love to do that.

however, jason is a licensed killer. that means that the devs can not just put him into the game without having to face lawful consequences. they need to ask the license holders, if it is okay to put him into the game. the problem is, that jason has multiple license holders and some dont want to have him in another game, as he already got his own game.

The reboot is not a loophole as the ruling bascially covers making any new content going forward not what was before the lawsuit.

The lawsuit means Horror inc can no longer produce films or new forms of media (games) called F13th in the US, now in theory they could release the iconic character hockey mask look and call it Jason Vorhees chapter but it cant be called or have anything to do with the name F13th.

Miller can make a film using F13th name and Jason Vorhees but not the hockey mask look.

Horror Inc also retained the international rights as the law doesnt apply out of the US so again in theory DBD could make a deal with them to make the character available everywhere apart from in the US and use the name F13th, its a minefield right now

but the lawsuit is not finished with the victory of the miller?

  • @Tarvesh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343595#Comment_343595

Does he own the rights to the 2009 reboot? Because if not then you have your loophole right there.

    nope

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343477#Comment_343477

No as Miller technically created Jason Vorhees the character by name and won the case for F13th the first movie, so he in effect owns the rights to everything in that first film.

Now the look of the character may be given to horror inc but if they cant use the name what use is it? it may no longer be F13th or Jason Vorhees.

It seems there is a lot to discuss and I cant see it being straight forward for any party to do something unless they can sit down and sort something out which is mutually beneficial, if it gets split well its possible you may have Miller with F13th Jason Vorhees with no iconic look and then Horro Inc with the Iconic look but no F13th or Jason Vorhees, in theory.

the problem is that in the first film jason is not even the killer, is a child and dies drowned, so with the rights of the first film you can not make any content for any game

  • @Tarvesh said:

Wouldn’t the easiest thing to do would get the rights for the most recent relaunch?

    ?

Miller has the rights to the first film, where Jason isn't even the killer and doesn't kill with the mask, in fact Jason is a child and dies drowned in the lake.

The rights of all the other films have the horror inc and the director.

    So there are two options:

    - Or Miller with the rights of the first film makes another film with his jason and another mask, and in that case you turn to him to bring it on the game.

    - Or you turn to the director and then to horror inc to bring it into the game.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343451#Comment_343451

Yeah the iconic Jason look we know of today was created by the horror Inc team so it still has a long way to go.

It looks like Miller got f13th first movie rights, the other problem is the actual Jason Vorhees name as that technically is also a Miller creation.

but to have it on dbd could not make a deal with the horror inc/director of film? not necessarily with miller

  • about the rights of the jason character, they belong to the horror inc and the director

  • @twistedmonkey said:

There is still a lot of things to sort out, while Miller owns the rights to f13th he only wrote the script for the first movie.

They still need to sort out the rights to the actual Jason character and his iterations which horror Inc has a huge case for since they created that persona without Miller's involvement.

There is also the case the Miller may only hold the rights in the US as the law he used only applies domestically.

I can see this being sorted out anytime soon, maybe in a few years.

the rights thing only in the United States sure that it was not eliminated when the miller won the case?

  • among other things, in the first film isn't the killer jason? and so there is no jason with the mask that kills everyone, and so there could not be a collaboration with dbd because he doesn't hold the rights of jason killer, but only of the mother. quite right?

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343349#Comment_343349

Victor only has the rights to Pamela (Jason's mother) and kid Jason. Horror Inc. has the rights to the hockey mask Jason. As for no new content for F13 the game, the devs of the game already said that even if the lawsuit ended they would not add new content to the game, they said they didn't want to work on content that would possibly never see the light of day. So basically all content for F13 the game has been canceled.

I have read that Miller has the rights of the first film of 1980, so behavior in theory if he makes an agreement with him we could have jason on dbd, also because Miller have took the rights of the film took them just to revive the brand with new projects the mask was already there in the first film, so they're probably just two different masks, but I do not think there are problems

  • ok thanks but Miller had the rights only on the Friday of 1980 or even all the other films? And then, if the lawsuit is over, then why the Friday game can't receive new content?

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:

Since Victor Miller said he would be open to allowing new content for F13 the game, I'm assuming he could work out something with BHVR to allow them to use Jason. Victor isn't the problem here though, it's Sean Cunningham and Horror Inc. that don't want to give Victor his fair share of money (Which he deserves). So BHVR would have to talk with Horror Inc. to work out a deal. I'd love Jason in the game and if he was the 13th chapter that would just make it even better!

yes, but in theory until the legal cause ends Jason will not be in any game / movie, or the cause is over and they have found an agreement?

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343186#Comment_343186

The F13th devs never got sued they had the rights to make the game from horror Inc who were legally allowed to give it to them at that time.

Victor Miller simply used the law which enables him to reclaim something he was paid for which he originally penned, basically the character of Jason Vorhees, he won and horror Inc appealed, the appeal from horror inc has been withdrawn for now.

    @Niitosky

I would love to see Jason in the game, we have all the other iconic ones so why not? The 13th dlc would be great idea, it's possible Victor Miller could come to an agreement so the devs could add him in some form, that is unless horror Inc reappeal again which could put the rights into limbo for a year or two.

Is the lawsuit not yet in progress? I read that
